Jean Woertz Jackson, 87, of Janesville WI, formerly of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, March 6, 2004 in Cozy Lil Acre, Janesville, WI.

She was born April 27, 1916 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of Arthur C. and Ivy P. Moss Woertz. Jean graduated from Shawnee High School. She received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Louisville School of Music and a Masters of Music Education degree from Hartt School of Music from the University of Hartford, CT. Jean married Lewis Ralph Jackson on September 4, 1937 in Louisville, KY. They lived in Lynbrook, Long Island, NY and Windsor, CT. He predeceased her on July 14, 1970.

Jean taught instrumental music, orchestra and band for 28 years in the public schools of Louisville, KY, Hempstead, Long Island, NY and West Hartford, CT, retiring in 1978 to make her home in Beloit, WI. In Beloit, she played cello in the Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra for 15 years and the Rockford Pops Orchestra. Jean played the saxophone in the Janesville Municipal band. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Survivors include her two sons, Arthur F. (Pamela) Jackson of Janesville, WI and Charles L. Jackson of FL; five grandchildren, Thomas C. Jackson, Kimberly (Christopher) DeVincentes, Tiffany Woodworth, Stephanie Jackson, Jennifer (Phillip) Stewart; and five great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Dorothy W. Kramer.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2004 in the St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Reverend Gail Abbott officiating. Burial will be private. There will be no visitation. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be given in her name to HospiceCare Inc, 3001 W. Memorial Drive, Janesville, WI.

Patricia Ann Jero, 70, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, December 26, 2003 in the University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison, WI.

She was born May 12, 1933 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Frank and Ermina Immerfall Schwerinski. Patricia was a 1952 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. She married Harry A. Jero on June 6, 1954 in St. Paul's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Harry; five children, Steven (Mary) Jero of Madison, WI, Michael (Charlotte) Jero of Beloit, WI, Cheryl (Tim) Adleman of South Beloit, IL, Daniel Jero and Julie (David) Mickelson both of Beloit, WI; five grandchildren, Matthew Jero, Angela (Brad) McCaslin, Ryan Adleman, Ashley Adleman and Tanner Mickelson; two great grandchildren, Brandon Jero and Laney McCaslin; cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Steven Kortendick officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Sidney R. Johnson, 91, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, December 15, 2003 in Beloit Health & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on July 30, 1912 in the town of Maxville, Buffalo County, WI, the son of Sever O. and Enger Steen Johnson. Sidney married Elfa Gross on September 26, 1933 in the Christ Lutheran Church Parsonage, Cochrane, WI. She predeceased him on September 7, 2001.

Sidney was a farmer until 1957 and then went to work for the City of Beloit Street Department of Public Works, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Golden Agers and Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his children, Ronald (Judith) Johnson of Beloit, WI, Calvin (Marlene) Johnson of Clinton, WI, Gary (Marita) Johnson of Janesville, WI and Myrna (Robert) Susedik of Beloit, WI; four grandchildren, Donetta (Dave) Holcomb, Chad Johnson, Aaron Johnson and Brenda (John) Amborn; four great grandchildren, Amanda and Chris Amborn and Jack and Audrey Johnson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, an infant son, Giles Conrad, grandson, Brian Johnson, three brothers, Melvin, Lloyd and James Johnson and one sister, Lila Foster.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2003 in Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend Edward May officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

A memorial will be established in his name.

Maurice I. Jones, 79, of Beloit, WI, died Thursday, November 27, 2003 in St. Mary's Hospital, Madison, WI.

He was born June 17, 1924 in Racine, WI, the son of Maurice and Ruby Brown Jones. Maurice married Barbara J. Lanning on December 18, 1970 in Rockford, IL.

Maurice was employed by Beloit Corporation, retiring in1986. He was a member of the Beloit Corporation 50 year club. Maurice enjoyed woodworking and crafts.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; seven children, Clifford (Diane) Dimmel of Rockton, IL, Deborah (Marcus) Stone of Shalimer, FL, Diane (Gary) Henning, Bruce Jones both of South Beloit, IL, Karen Mondor, Barbara Wonzer both of St. Joseph, MO and Steven (Twina) Jones of Beloit, WI; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Herbert (Doris) Jones of Rockford, IL and Evert (Lois) Raddatz of Beloit, WI; one sister, Pearl (Clarence) Huyerdahl of Janesville, WI; several nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-law, Charles (Sue) Lanning of DeKalb, IL; sisters-in-law, Doris (Dewey) Thomas of Beloit, WI and Charlys (Dick) Kath of South Beloit, IL; special friends, Wendy Spurling, Ole Olson, and Gary Woodworth.

He was predeceased by his parents and son-in-law, George Mondor.

There will be no services. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

MILDRED 'Millie' JABUSCH, 82, formally of Beloit, died Friday, August 8, 2003 at Huntington Place in Janesville, WI.

She was born September 21, 1920 in Sheboygan, WI, the daughter of William and Ida Kurtz Klein. Mildred graduated from Sheboygan North High School. She married Virgil M. Jabusch in 1948 in Sheboygan, WI. He predeceased her on April 14, 2001.

Mildred was a member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beloit for many years. She was involved with church circles at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mildred enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and was an dedicated Wisconsin sports fan.

Survivors include her two sons, William (Allyson) Jabusch of Hancock, MI, and Jack (Marilyn) Jabusch of Madison, WI; one daughter, Jean (Jeff) Kerl of Janesville, WI; five grandchildren, Jenny (fiancé, Eric Price) Jabusch, Jordan Jabusch, Renata Jabusch, Jocelyn Kerl, and Brock Jabusch.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2003 in Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1531 Townline Avenue, Beloit, WI. with the Reverend Dennis L. Pingel officiating. Entombment will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Sheboygan, WI. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until time of services Tuesday in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. assisted the family with arrangements.

The family offers special thanks to the caregivers and staff at Huntington Place, HospiceCare Inc. and Candace Lawrence RN, while requesting that remembrances in lieu of flowers be made to Messiah Lutheran Church or HospiceCare Inc. 3001 West Memorial Drive, Janesville, WI.

HARRY R. JERO II, 54, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, June 2, 2003 in his home.

He was born February 14, 1949 in Beloit, WI, the son of Richard and Grace Haseman Jero. Harry was a graduate of Beloit Memorial High School.

Harry was employed by Tri State Shows for 20 years as a manager. He enjoyed cooking, planning parties, and spending time with his special dog Pebbles. Harry was very family oriented and had a lot of friends that he enjoyed helping out.

Survivors include two sisters, Diane (Elwood) Garetson, and JoAnne Montgomery both of Beloit, WI; one brother, Steven (Judy) Jero of Beloit, WI; two aunts, Joan (Edward) Hall of Beloit, WI, and Hazel Frisbee of Rolla, MO; special friends, Maxine Crawford of Edgerton, WI and Judy Zimmerman; his beloved dog, Pebbles; several nieces, nephews; great nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Grace Jero, maternal and paternal grandparents, and brother, Louis 'Rusty' Jero.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2003 in Shopiere Cemetery with Pastor Clifton White officiating. Burial will be in Shopiere Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family.

Memorials may be given in Harry's name to Beloit Regional Hospice.

LANI JAY JUSTUS, 51, of Beloit, WI, died peacefully Wednesday, April 23, 2003 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born November 20, 1951 in Hackettstown, NJ, the daughter of Howard J. and Gladys Vreeland Niper. Lani graduated from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland and received a master's degree from UW-Whitewater.

Lani taught at Hackett School in Beloit for 20 years, where all her students loved her. She supervised many student teachers. Lani was a member of the Beloit Junior Women's Club, and was a faithful member of the Clinton High School Booster Club. She loved to travel and visited Japan, Hawaii, Alaska, and many European countries. Lani participated in a book club and theatre group. She was honored last year at the American Cancer Society Walk For Life in Clinton. Lani attended Central Christian Church and accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior. One of her prize possessions was a bracelet of more than 120 charms given to her by her friends for support.

Lani was a wonderful mother, daughter, teacher, and friend who will be missed by all.

Survivors include her son, Jesse Justus; long term companion, Charles P. Benedict; and her mother, Gladys (Henry Martin) Niper all of Beloit, WI.

She was predeceased by her father, Howard J. Niper.

Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Larry Froemming officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Services will also be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2003 in the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, NJ. Burial will be in Pequest Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in Cochran Funeral Home.

BRIAN C. JOHNSON, 37, of Roscoe, IL, died Saturday, April 12, 2003 in the University Hospital, Madison, WI after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born April 16, 1965 in Beloit, WI, the son of Calvin C. Johnson and Carolyn Jean Burgess. Brian was a 1983 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He married Margaret 'Meg' Olson on September 7, 1991 in Grace Lutheran Church, Loves Park, IL.

Brian's greatest hobby was the dedication to his family, life and especially his children. He was a kind, generous, loving man who touched many lives and left his imprint on everyone's heart. Brian was an all around athlete, loved golfing and motorcycling. He was a soccer coach for the Bruce Samlan League. Brian was a man of active faith and a member of Cross & Crown Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife Meg of Roscoe, IL; two children, Jack Johnson and Audrey Johnson both at home; mother, Carolyn Johnson of Beloit, WI; father and stepmother, Calvin (Marlene) Johnson of Clinton, WI; brother, Chad (Maeghan) Johnson of Appleton, WI; maternal grandmother, Jeanette Burgess of Beloit, WI; paternal grandfather, Sidney R. Johnson of Beloit, WI; in-laws, Don and Marge Olson of Leesburg, FL; brothers-in-law, Steve (Chong) Olson of Tampa, FL, Curt (Merilee) Olson of Milton, WI, and Ben (Jan) Olson of Rockton, IL; godparents, Richard and Nancy Burgess of Roscoe, IL, and Ron and Judy Johnson of Beloit, WI; nieces and nephews, Dana, Tom, Tyler, and Kollin Olson; many special relatives and special friends.

He was predeceased by his grandfather, Herman Burgess and grandmother, Elfa Johnson.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2003 in the Cross & Crown Lutheran Church 7404 Elevator Road, Roscoe, IL, with the Reverend John Heins officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Thursday in the church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in his name will be established.
