Emilene 'Amy' Karner, 82, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, March 16, 2003 in Encore Senior Villa, Beloit, WI.

She was born April 1, 1920 in Heidenheim, Germany, the daughter of Frederick and Katherine Biedenback Haug. Amy was a 1938 graduate of Steinmetz High School, Chicago, IL. She married Alfred R. Karner on June 7, 1941 in Chicago, IL. He predeceased her on June 21, 1994.

Amy was employed by Midwest Shoe Travelers Association as an executive secretary, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Edison Park Lutheran Church in Chicago, IL. and First Presbyterian Church in Valparaiso, IN.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy L. (Ronald) Hartman of Beloit, WI, and Marcia (Bruce) Biggs of Valparaiso, IN; six grandchildren, Scott Hartman, Kelly L. (John) Kaminski, Jeff A. Hartman, Nicole (Joseph) Garcia, Chad A. Biggs, and Courtney M. Biggs; four great grandchildren, Zachary Kaminski, Rachel Kaminski, Samantha Garcia, and Hailey Garcia; two sisters, Minna Ernst of Arlington Heights, IL, and Paula Dewes of West Palm Beach, FL; one brother, Albert Haug of West Palm Beach, FL; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Helen Burke of Las Vegas, NV; two dear childhood friends, Sandra Hides of Chicago, IL, and Hazel Erickson of Phoenix, AZ.

She was predeceased by her parents, and one brother, Fred Haug.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2003 in the Central Christian Church 2460 Milwaukee Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Norman Starks officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be given to the Rock County Alzheimer's Support Center, 1900 Center Ave, Janesville, WI 53546

Lorraine 'Ler' Mason Larson, 86, of Chambersburg PA, formerly of Beloit, WI died Thursday, March 24, 2005 in Menno Haven where she resided for the past four years. Prior to that she had been living with her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Bert Major in Chambersburg, PA since 1986.

She was born in Truman, MN, the daughter of John and Gertrude Leng. After her mother's death, her aunt and uncle, Gudron and Jack Reis raised her. Gudron is 104 years old and still lives in Truman. Ler married Joe Mason in 1937 and lived most of her married life in Beloit, WI. They retired to Wabasha, MN. Joe died in 1971. Lorraine married William (Bill) Larson in 1976, he predeceased her in 1983.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Bert) Major of Chambersburg, PA; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Noro Lou Blalock of Mountain View, CA.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005 at the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI with Father Steve Kortendick of St. Judes Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be held at Mt. Thabor Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in her name to the Chambersburg YMCA, 570 East McKinley Street, Corpus Christi Catholic Church at 3250 Philadelphia Ave or the Walden Unit at Menno Haven, 2075 Scotland Ave, all in Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Brad D. Lokken, 27 of Janesville, WI died Sunday, March 27, 2005 in his home.

He was born October 12, 1977 in Beloit, WI the son of Dale Edward and Debbie Moutray Lokken. Brad was a 1995 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School.

Brad was employed by Lear Seating Corporation as a robot technician. He enjoyed bowling, hockey, fishing and he belonged to various pool leagues.

Survivors include his mother, Debbie (William) Nelson of Beloit, WI; father, Dale Lokken of Orfordville, WI; sister, Christie Lokken of Beloit, WI; nephews, Kyle, Keegan and Logan; paternal grandparents, Yvonne (Leonard) LaSure of Beloit, WI; maternal great grandmother, Marie Moutray of Steelville, MO; paternal uncles, Terry Lokken of Beloit, WI, Richard (Mary Lou) Lokken of Beloit, WI; aunt, Kathy (Robert) Multerer of West Bend, WI; great aunt and uncle, Fred and Mary Gipson of Cuba, MO; God parents, James and Sandy Campanella of Naples, FL and other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparent, Ralph and June Moutray and aunt Bernie Lokken.

Brad had a smile that could touch an audience. He had a way about him that made everyone feel good. Brad will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2005 in Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI with Reverend Larry Froemming officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2005 at the funeral home.

A memorial will be established in his name at a later date.

Norma J. Lockner, 78, of Rockton, IL, died at home Tuesday, March 22, 2005.

She was born January 26, 1927 in Savanna, IL the daughter of Carl and Mary Jane Sheppard Surfus. Norma attended Beloit High School. She married Richard L. Lockner on December 31, 1955. He predeceased her on November 8, 2002.

Norma worked at Freeman Shoe Company for 42 years until her retirement on May 31, 1989. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in South Beloit, IL. Norman enjoyed crocheting and reading.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Eunice Losey of Beloit, WI; friend Juanita Robbins of Beloit, WI; nieces; nephews; caregivers, Hossein and Tody; and numerous neighbors and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, and one brother, Russell Surfus.

A special Thank you to Dr. Olszewski for the care that he gave to Norma.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2005 in the Shrine of Memories Mausoleum Chapel at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jay Quinn from Faith Lutheran Church officiating. There will be no visitation. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI 53511 assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to the Blue Bird Volunteers at Fair Oaks Health Care Center.

Murain Laidig, 84, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, February 27, 2005 in her home.

She was born on September 15, 1920 in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Joseph and Henrietta Johansen Dvorak. Murain was a 1939 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. She married Douglas Laidig on December 28, 1940 in Maquoketa, IA. He predeceased her on December 6, 1981.

Murrain was employed by Freeman's Shoe Company and Bergner Wiese's, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Murain was an accomplished artist. She performed tap and ballet in theatres in the 1930's and 1940's.

Survivors include her children, Marvin (Georgia) Laidig of Beloit, WI, Pat (Dennis) Haskins of Gainesville, FL, Glen (Mary) Laidig of South Beloit, IL and Diane (Roger) McMillin of Beloit, WI; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband and son, Douglas.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2005 in Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Edward May officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services Thursday in the funeral home.

Ronald P. Laue, 56, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, February 20, 2005 as a result of an automobile accident.

He was born on May 5, 1948 in Beloit, WI, the son of Robert and Rosetta Fitzgerald Laue. Ronald was a 1967 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He married Jackie Grace on July 18, 1998 in Medina, WI.

Ronald was formerly employed by AFC Company, Chrysler Corporation and currently by MPI Fineblanking in Deerfield, WI. He was a lifetime member of ABATE. Ronald was involved in various pool and dart leagues.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Laue of Beloit, WI; his daughters, Tina (Carlo) Laue and Tara Laue both of Denver, Colorado; step children, Amy (Steve) Teubert of Edgerton, WI and Thomas (Val) Avery of Nevada; proud Grandpa to four grandchildren, Brett, Cody, Justin and Tre; one brother, Michael (Virginia) Laue of Beloit, WI; brothers-in-law, Matthew Grace of Beloit, WI and Michael (Holly) Grace of Marietta, Georgia; special aunt and uncle, Rose and Milt Teske of Neenah, WI; his buddies Hooch and Maisie Mae.

Popsie, you will be forever in our hearts, your kindness to everyone will be forever in our minds. You will be sadly missed and remembered forever. Rest in Peace.

He was predeceased by his parents and mother-in-law, Judy Grace.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2005 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Steven Kortendick officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services Thursday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in his name to the Boys and Girls Club.

Kenneth L. Lowery, 91, of South Beloit, IL died Wednesday, February 09, 2005 at his home with his loving family and faithful companion 'Chunk' beside him.

He was born June 9, 1913 in Richland Center, WI, the son of Ernest and Eva Miller Lowery. Kenneth married Dorothy White on May 22, 1937 at the Old Stone Church in Rockton, IL. As a young man he worked with The CCC. Kenneth was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing, archery, bowling, and later in life gardening and a passion for Ho-Chunk. He worked at Beloit Corporation until his retirement in 1977.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years Dorothy; sons, Kenneth (Beverly) Lowery of Solon Springs, WI, Donald (Jeri) Lowery of Roscoe, IL, Robert (Karen) Lowery of Rockton, IL; daughter, Rebecca (Steve) Martinez of Rockton, IL; daughter-in-law, Jenell (Jules) White of Rockton, IL; brothers, Ernest 'Jr.' Lowery of Marseilles, IL, and Keith Lowery of Marseilles, IL; sister, Galena Lowery of Marseilles, IL; 19 grandchildren; and 34 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, brother, William, sister, Mabel and son, Jules 'Sonny' White.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 14, 2005 at the Hope Evangelical Free Church, 5656 Elevator Road, Roscoe, IL with Pastor Jeff Lowery officiating. Burial will be held at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. Monday until of service at the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI 53511 assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in his name to the Hope Evangelical Free Church.

Lorena Lorts, 93, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 5, 1911 in Deward, MI, the daughter of John and Margaret E. Jamieson Woods. Lorena married Lester F. Lorts on September 7, 1936 in Saginaw, MI. He predeceased her in 1996.

Survivors include her son, John H. (Francine) Lorts of Sun City, CA; two grandchildren, Shelly Freeman of New Orleans, LA and John David Lorts of Mendenhall, MS; nieces

She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Wesley and John Woods, two sisters, Margaret McEwan and Ruth Flood.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2005 in East Lawn Cemetery with the Reverend Thomas Wanner officiating. There will be no visitation. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be given in her name to First Presbyterian Church.
