Alice Mae Lyford, 89, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 in Beloit Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born April 6, 1915 in Durand, IL, the daughter of Morgan and Mary Kelly Miller. Alice was a graduate of Durand High School. She married Harley Lyford on February 1, 1934 in Paw Paw, IL. He predeceased her on November 3, 1991.

Alice was a 4-H leader for 20 years. She was a member of Sybil Rebekah Lodge #164, Order of the Eastern Star Roscoe Chapter #641, Roscoe Blue Bonnets, charter member of Farm Bureau Homemakers and Royal Neighbors. Alice was a volunteer at the Beloit Senior Center. Alice was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and was a Sunday school teacher for 63 years.

Survivors include her children, Richard (Audrey) Lyford of Roscoe, IL, Marilyn (David) Dunn of Houston, TX, Bill (Pat) Lyford of Billings, MT and Bill (Mavis) Evans of Rome, WI; 23 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gladys Miller of Mt. Dora, FL and Alice Miller of Durand, IL; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, daughter, Mary Folyer, three brothers, Orson, Powell and Burdett, one sister, Bernice Patterson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2005 in the New Hope United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jo Bierer officiating. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00a.m. until the time of services Monday in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Geraldine Low, 81 of Beloit, WI died Tuesday, January 25, 2005 in her home.

She was born on August 9, 1922 in Mason, WI. She grew up in Ashland, WI and later moved to International Falls, MN where she attended and graduated from high school.

In 1941 she married Albert Low and they resided in Fort Frances Ontario, Canada and later moved to Kenora, Ontario Canada where she was active in community affairs. She taught children in various groups including the Girl Scouts and Brownies where she was a Brown Owl for many years.

She came to Beloit in January 1955 and has resided here ever since.

Survivors include one brother Paul Wilcox and one sister Lillian Friedbauer both of International Falls MN, two sons, Robert Low of New Lisbon, WI and John Low of Beloit, WI; daughter, Janet Wright of Tucson, AZ; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and four brothers.

There will be no services or visitation. Gerry would like to have her friends and family remember her as she was in life.

Morell 'Mama' Lowery, 93, of Beloit, WI, went home to be with her Lord, Thursday, December 16, 2004.

She was born July 23, 1911 in West Mississippi, the daughter of Elige and Corrine (Black) Mallett. She married Lemon Lowery Sr. on February 18, 1942 in Grenada, MS. He predeceased her on July 16, 1964.

Mama was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church where she supervised the youth department. She sang in the choir, was a member of the missionary Ruth Circle, the Action Committee and Willing Workers, the Mothers Board, and was very active with the youth. She was everyone's 'Mama Lowery'. Mama was employed by the Beloit College for 12 years and also by Fourth Street Laundromat for 49 years.

She leaves to cherish her memories, son, Lemon (Janice) Lowery of Oakland, TN; daughter Sandy (Tim Barnes) Canedy of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Kenneth Scott Lowery of Milwaukee, WI, Gina Michelle Lowery of Milwaukee, WI, Santia Michelle Canedy of Beloit, WI; great granddaughter, A'Blesin Taije Wilson; brothers, Albert Mallett of Beloit, WI, Louis Frank (Susie) Mallett of Welt, MS; sister, Sarah Mallett of Madison, MS and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mama helped raise a host of children, including her God-children, Michael DuBois Sr., Clara Ingraham, Nora Lemons, Consequala Townsend and Willie E. Fleming all of Beloit.

She was predeceased by her husband, parents, brother, C.D. Cain and four sisters, Christine Irvin, Minnie Seawood, Lillie B. Mallett, C.L. Crawford and God-child, Brian Brown.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2004 in the Emmanuel Baptist Church at 1151 E. Grand Ave, Beloit, WI with the Reverend Dr. Floyd Prude Jr. officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 21 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.

Joseph J. Lord, 40, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, December 8, 2004 in the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice in Fitchburg, WI.

He was born on December 30, 1963 in Chicago, IL, the son of Glen D. and Bonnie L. Potter Lord. Joseph was employed by John Deere in Dubuque, IA. He loved his life and family. Joseph enjoyed wood working, carpentry, camping, the outdoors and motorcycles.

Survivors include his fiancé, Peggy O'Neil of Beloit, WI; children, Damien Lord of Platteville, WI, Stephanie Lord of Illinois, Kalin and Devonna Lord both of Beloit, WI; step children, Nicole, Jenna and Austin Hannaford all of Beloit, WI; two brothers, Tim (Theresa) Hartman and Barry Brinkman both of Cassville, WI; one sister, Shawn (Ron) Rauch of Cassville, WI; nieces and nephews, Lisa Hartman, Amanda Reynolds, Ronnie Jr. and Anthony Rauch, Bradley and Trevor Brinkman.

He was predeceased by his parents and infant son, Jeffrey.

Visitation will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2004 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 13, 2004 in the Martin Page Funeral Home, Cassville, WI. Visitation will also be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2004 in the Martin Page Funeral Home.

Hilda Mae Staley Lockhart, 78, of Beloit, WI, died peacefully after a short illness Monday, November 1, 2004 in Beloit Memorial Hospital. She was a life long resident of the Beloit area.

She was born November 29, 1925 in Albany, WI, the daughter of Elihu and Hilda Teale Staley. Hilda was a 1943 graduate of Beloit High School. She married Robert O. Lockhart on June 6, 1943 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her in June of 1997.

Hilda was co-owner with her husband Robert, for over 20 years, of Lockhart Realty and Lockhart Homes, Inc. During her high school years she was employed at The Wagon Wheel. After retirement Hilda became an avid Bridge Player and she was also a member of the South Beloit Young Matrons Club.

Survivors include her two sons, Rickie V. (Kathy J.) Lockhart of Beloit, WI, and Barry R. (Judith L.) Lockhart of Hollister, MO; daughter, Suzanne L. (William 'Tom') Strickler of Berlin, WI; grandchildren, Shelley, Sherry, Sherle, Robert, Jamie, Justin, and Bobby; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Viva Moe of Janesville, WI, Elsie St. John of South Beloit, IL, and Shirley Frank of Janesville, WI.

She was predeceased by her husband, parents, two sisters, and four brothers.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 5, 2004 at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Gene VanGalder officiating. Burial will be held in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until time of services Friday in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with the arrangements.

Memorials may be given in her name to the First Baptist Church Scholarship Foundation.

Giuseppe 'Joseph' Laudicina, 88, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, October 18, 2004 at Beloit Health & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born October 25, 1915 in Beloit, WI, the son of Antonio and Anna (Giacalone) Laudicina. He married Vincenza 'Virginia' Gullotti on December 10, 1960 in Beloit, WI.

Giuseppe served in World War II in the Italian Army and was a prisoner of war for 6 years. He was employed by the Beloit Corporation for 28 years. Giuseppe was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Vincenza 'Virginia'; sisters, Maria Hernandez of Petrosino, Sicily, Italy, Gina (Antonio) Pellegrino of Granitola, Sicily, Italy, and Brigida Valente of Detroit, MI; brother, Salvator (Michelina) Laudicina of Strasatti, Sicily, Italy; sisters-in-law, Josephine Ortega, Giuseppina Gullotti and Marianna Gullotti all of Licata, Italy; brother-in-law, Santo (Elizabeth) Gullotti of Pescara, Italy; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, sister, Catarina Anastasi, brother, Francesco Laudicina, brothers-in-law, Nick Valente, Vincenzo and Michelangelo Gullotti, and sister-in-law, Vincenza Laudicina.

Prayer services will be 9:45 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Jim Kuhn officiating. Entombment will be in Mount Thabor Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with a Scripture Service at 5:00 p.m.

Helen Livingston, 85, of Janesville, WI, died Monday, October 11, 2004 in her home.

She was born on April 4, 1919 on a farm in Rock County, the daughter of William and Hattie Lenz Albrecht. Helen married Kenneth Livingston on July 29, 1942 in Janesville, WI. He predeceased her on July 22, 1996.

Helen was employed by Parker Pen and Besley Bendix for 27 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was active in the Women's Guild, Bible Study and the Quilters Group.

Survivors include her daughters, Marcie K. (Tom) Williams of Pewaukee, WI and Bonnie J. (Richard) Antoniuc of Waterbury Center, VT; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Kelly) Teuteberg of Sullivan, WI, Brooke Williams of Pewaukee, WI, Jennifer (Steve) Mineo of Plymouth, MA and David (Laura) Nelson of Plymouth, MA; two step grandchildren, Shauna (Brandy) Anderson of Folsom, CA and Ryan Antoniuc of Abington, MA; great grandchildren, Mark Mineo, Megan Mineo, Jacob Teuteberg and Shane Nelson, Jula Anderson and Amanda Helen Teuteberg; sisters, Gertrude A. Smith of Janesville, WI and Verna W. Oaks of LaPorte, TX; brother, Bob L. (Shirley) Albright of Sun City, AZ; special nieces, Linda Bondick, Joyce McAuliffe and Joan Albright; special nephew, Ron Smith Jr.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, sister, Mable A. Beanash and niece, Helen Haase.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 15, 2004 in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1000 Bluff Street, Beloit, WI, with Reverend William Wagner officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services Friday in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mercy Hospice.

Gus M. Lucas, 95, of Destin, Florida passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2004 in a Florida healthcare facility.

He was born April 9, 1909 in Samos, Greece, the son of Mike and Garefalia Kelafas Lucas. Gus proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He married Marika Polla on June 14, 1945 in France. After the war he was owner and operator of the Cozy Inn Restaurant. Gus and Marika left the Beloit area in 1976 retiring to Northwest Florida.

Gus was a member of The Saints Markella, Demetrius Greek Orthodox Church in Fort Walton Beach, FL, the Elks Lodge #1795, American Legion Post #48, and served as President of the Century Park West Condominium.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Marika of Destin, FL; sons, William (Barbara) Lucas of Beloit, WI and Mike (Peggy) Lucas of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Shane (Carrie) Lucas and Amber (Joel) Meza; great grandchildren, Ethan Lucas, and Callista Meza; his brother, John (Elaine) Lucas of Beloit, WI; sister-in-law, Jennie Lucas of Beloit, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, son, Emanuel, brother, Frank Lucas and sister, Ardine Mavroulis.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Father John Artemas officiating. Burial will be held at East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.
