Vivian E. Lorenz, 65, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, December 15, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

She was born on May 15, 1938 in Big Flats, Adams Township, WI, the daughter of Felix and Rosey Secoy Gerard. Vivian married James K. Lorenz on July 2, 1977 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on July 28, 2002. Vivian was formerly employed by Patch Products and Vance Printing.

Survivors include her children, Kevin (Brenda) Streeter, Dale Streeter, Janet (Dave Meligan) Streeter, Mary Streeter all of Beloit, WI, Jerry Streeter of Janesville, WI, Barbara (Chris) Johnson of Portage, WI, and Peggy (Stuart) Cole of Flagstaff, AZ; 19 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Mittelsteadt of Beloit, WI and Violet (Paul) Repta of Arkdale, WI; many nieces and nephews, special friend, Pat Champeny.

Vivian's family would like to give a special thanks to Home Instead Senior Care and her caretakers, Marcia Koch and Betty Meyer.

She was predeceased by her parents and one son, Melvin

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Paul Gregersen officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Donald G. Lounsbury, 65, of South Beloit, IL, died Monday, December 15, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born on November 25, 1938 in Richland Center, WI, the son of Steve and Cordia Richardson Lounsbury. Donald married Florence A. Miller on February 3, 1958 in Beloit, WI. She predeceased him on July 30, 2000. Donald enjoyed doing yard work and riding his lawnmower.

Survivors include his children, Joseph Lounsbury, Marcy (T.J.) Hall and Carol Lounsbury all of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Kris Kuykendall II, Jessica Lounsbury, Dianne Lounsbury, Amanda Lounsbury, Renea Pearson and Michael Pearson; several great grandchildren; two brothers, George (Francis) Lounsbury and Robert 'Bob' (Doris) Lounsbury both of Beloit, WI; one sister, Marcella (Burl) Coy of Jefferson, WI; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and one son, Michael Lounsbury.

Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Steven Anderson officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until the time of services Thursday in the funeral home.

Memorials to the family would be appreciated.

Clifford N. Long, 85, of Scottsdale, AZ, and formerly of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, December 14, 2003 in Arizona.

He was born December 13, 1918 in Waubay, South Dakota, the son of Orrie and Pearl Dowd Long. Clifford married Marie J. Churchill.

Clifford is survived by his wife, Marie of Scottsdale, AZ.

He was predeceased by his parents, daughter, Patricia and son, Robert.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2003 in the Mt. Thabor Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Elmer L. Lies, 94, of Rockford, IL, died Thursday, September 25, 2003 in Alma Nelson Manor, Rockford, IL.

He was born January 25, 1909 in Northfield, IL, the son of Edward and Lizzie Reimer Lies. Elmer was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He married Helen Kennelly on April 5, 1933 in Chicago, IL. Elmer was employed by Continental Insurance Company in Chicago, IL, retiring in 1974.

Survivors include his daughter, Pamela (Daniel) Novotnak of Rockton, IL; three grandchildren, Brett (fiancé Beth Gries) Novotnak, Chad Novotnak, and Heather Novotnak; one great granddaughter, Hannah; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Douglas Johnson officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until the time of services Sunday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in his name to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

ROSE F. 'Rosetta' LAUE, 87, formerly of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, September 7, 2003 in New Berlin, WI.

She was born September 7, 1916 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Clyde and Lucille Johnson Fitzgerald. Rosetta was a graduate of Beloit High School. She married Robert Laue on September 7, 1946 in Janesville, WI. He predeceased her on August 4, 1982. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the Marian Guild.

Survivors include her two sons, Ronald (Jackie) Laue and Michael Laue both of Beloit, WI; one stepson, James (Margaret) Laue; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to Birchrock Corners.

SHERYL A. LYNCH, 43, of Janesville, WI, died Saturday, August 23, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 14, 1960 in Beloit, WI. the daughter of Daniel and Dorothy Berens Shook. Sheryl married Michael P. Lynch on November 9, 1985 in Afton, WI. She was employed by Blaines Farm & Fleet, Janesville, WI.

Survivors include her husband, Michael; her parents, Daniel and Dorothy Shook of Janesville, WI; three sisters, Dorothy Allen of South Beloit, IL, Pat Titus of Janesville, WI, and Sandy (Brad) Phillips of Tucson, AZ; sisters and brothers in law, Mary (Darrel) Erickson of Beloit, WI, Theresa (Russell) Smith of Beloit, WI, Larry (Linda) Lynch of Beloit, WI, Maureen (Gary) Stickler of Rockton, IL, Anna (Jerry) Brockman of South Beloit, IL, Colleen Salinas of Beloit, WI, Tim (Annette) Lynch of Rockford, IL, Tony (Linda) Lynch of Janesville, WI, and Diana Lynch of Beloit, WI; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nephews.

Sheryl was predeceased by her three brothers in law, Marty Lynch, Orvin Titus, and Ned Allen.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2003 in the Afton Community Church with the Reverend Richard Whippler officiating. Burial will be in the Town of Rock Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

ROBERT O. LOFTHUS, 75, of Orfordville, WI, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003 in Mercy Hospital, Janesville, WI.

He was born August 19, 1927 in Beloit, WI, the son of Oscar W. and Nina O. Amundson Lofthus. Robert married Lydia Olson on June 16, 1956 in Luther Valley Church. She predeceased him on April 28, 2000.

Robert was a life-long farmer. He enjoyed collecting Allis-Chalmers tractors. Robert was a member of Luther Valley Church where he had served as church treasurer and on the church council.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Lofthus and Carol Lofthus both of Orfordville, WI; one sister, Nathalie Lofthus of Janesville, WI; two nieces, Jackie Olson of Seattle, WA, and Jodi Olson of Philadelphia, PA; and several cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, one son, Robert Paul Lofthus, and stepbrother, Oliver Lofthus.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003 in the Luther Valley Church with the Reverend Randy Krause officiating. Burial will be in Luther Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until the time of services Saturday in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

HENRIETTA LASS, 88, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 9, 1915 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of John Walter and Margaret Schmenger Schwartz. Henrietta married Arthur W. Lass on June 25, 1938 in the Old Stone Church, Rockton, IL. He predeceased her on December 17, 1984.

Henrietta was employed by Freeman Shoe Company and Fairbanks Morse & Company. She was a former auxiliary volunteer at Beloit Memorial Hospital and a member of the Beloit Moose Club #56. Henrietta was a member of Gridley Congregational Church.

Survivors include her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters, Opal Eck and Helen Redlich, and half brothers, George, William and Louis Zinnecker.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI with the Reverend Karen Stubbelfield officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Gridley Congregational Church.

BEATRICE S. LEWIS, 96, of West Chicago, IL passed away Monday, June 30, 2003 at Highview Retirement Home, in Rockford, IL.

She was born on January 2, 1907 on a farm in Cambria, WI, the daughter of George and Stella Ermanowis Butterfield. Beatrice Married Harry Lewis on September 14, 1931 in Elkhart, Indiana . He predeceased her in 1973.

Beatrice enjoyed antiques, collections, crocheting, her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Church of Christ in West Chicago, IL.

Survivors include her three daughters, Patricia (Donald) Brewster of West Chicago, IL, Joyce (Donald) Hirst of Beloit, WI, and Carol (James) Brannon of Beloit; 11 grandchildren, Susan (Mitch) Jeczalik of St. Charles, IL, Robert (Nancy) Brewster of West Chicago, IL, Christine Hirst of Beloit, WI, Jeffery (Karen) Hirst of Madison, WI, Tammy (Al) Vermillion of Ft. Atkinson, WI, Mark (Donna) Hirst of Beloit, WI, John Hirst of Wichita Falls, TX, Cathy (Vic) Files of Rockton, IL, James 'Todd' (Marcy) Brannon of Janesville, WI, Sherry Maddrell of Rockton, IL, and Curtis (Dawn) Brannon of Beloit, WI; 21 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one sister, Silvia 'Sib' Offuitt of Camerillo, CA; several nieces.

She was predeceased by her parents, brother, Edward; three sisters, Gladys, Hazel & Florerence.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Mr. Charles Miller from Church of Christ in West Chicago, IL officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the services Thursday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in her name to the American Diabetes Association.
