Mary Elizabeth Naomi McIntyre, 83, of Beloit, WI, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2004 at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 5, 1921 in Damascus, Virginia, the daughter of Charles and Margaret Williams Hawk. Mary married Joseph V.G. McIntyre on August 22, 1936 in Kahoka, MO. He predeceased her on July 3, 1997. She was a member of Central Christian Church, Joy Circle, TLC Group and Homebound Ministries.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who touched the hearts of many. Mary will be truly missed.

Survivors include her two sons, Daniel (Diane) McIntyre Sr. of South Beloit, IL, and Joel (Marian) McIntyre of Beloit, WI; four daughters, Marjorie (Theodore) Knapp of South Beloit, IL, Velma (Eldon) Peterson of Brodhead, WI, Ilah (William) Tinder of South Beloit, IL, and Janet (David) Sherer of Beloit, WI; 16 grandchildren, Rena Hahn, Mark and Timothy Kosier, Jon and Jay Peterson, Daniel McIntyre Jr., Theresa McIntyre, Robert Darwin Jr., Tina Guetschow, Holli and Kelli Tinder, Jeff and Jamie Ray, Bradley Sherer, Bobbie and Ashley McIntyre; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Joann Knoll of Galesburg, IL, Helen Fowler of Monmouth, IL, Ruth Hull of Monmouth, IL, and Maxine Hawk of Monmouth, IL; special friend, Emma Taylor.

She was predeceased by her parents, son, Joseph Marion McIntyre, great grandson, Adam Tyler Darwin Guetschow, sister, Lucille and three brothers, Charles Jr., Robert and Clarence.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004 in Central Christian Church with Pastor Norm Starks officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Kidney Foundation or the Heart Foundation.

Vernon A. Marks, 69, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, April 16, 2004 in his home.

He was born September 19, 1934 in Beloit, WI, the son of Earl Carl David and Alice Cordelia Thorsen Marks Sr. Vernon was a 1953 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School and he attended Graceland University in Iowa. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Vernon married Arnola Lue Stone on October 15, 1955 in Beloit, WI.

Vernon was employed by Fairbanks Morse & Company and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, retiring April 1, 1991. He was a member of the Beloit City Council from 1996 until 2002. Vernon served on the Appointment Review Committee, Cable Television Advisory, Community Development Authority, CDBG Sub-Committee, Community Services Center Advisory, Economic Development, Human Relations, Intergovernmental Relations, Landmarks Commission, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, Parks and Recreation Planning Commission, Rock River Transportation Coalition and the Traffic Review Committee. He was a Wisconsin District Youth Pastor and a Cub Scout master. Vernon was the past president, coach and referee for the Beloit Youth Hockey Association. He was a board member of the Midnight Basketball League. He was a Pastor of the Community of Christ Church where he was a minister and choir director.

Survivors include his wife, Arnola of Beloit, WI; four children, Gerald (Jocelyn) Marks of Beloit, WI, Donald (Amy) Marks of Germantown, WI, John (Gretchen) Marks of Beloit, WI, and Carol (Brian) Kapnick of Lake Marian, IL; five grandchildren, Alexandra, John II, Margaret, Abigail and Gerald II; one sister, Elaine (Kenneth) Wisch of Fort Atkinson, WI; sisters-in-law, Joan Marks of Batavia, IL and Reita Brooks of Beloit, WI; brother-in-law, Norbert Stone of Beloit, WI; aunt, Ruthe Thorsen of Palestine, TX; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Earl.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2004 in the Community of Christ Church 4242 S. Chippendale, Beloit, WI, with Evangelist Richard Brock officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

Bruce J. Mullvain, 55, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, April 4, 2004 in his home.

He was born March 4, 1949 in Dekalb, IL, the son of Maurice F. and Alvina J. Soderlund Mullvain. Bruce was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the 101st Airborne, Second Squadron 17th Calvary Alpha Troop. He received the Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Bruce married Theresa 'Terry' Polashek on October 27, 1979.

Bruce was employed by the City of Beloit for 20 years as a housing inspector, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Nolan Black Chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Bruce enjoyed boating, motorcycles and camping with family and friends. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa 'Terry' Mullvain of Beloit, WI; children, Angela Mullvain-Powers of Oshkosh, WI, Anne (Josh Pepitone) Mullvain of Janesville, WI, Bobby Mullvain and Kimberly Mullvain both of Beloit, WI; Amanda Bauer of Beloit, WI to whom he was a father figure; four brothers, Ron (Bonnie) Mullvain, Gary (Lori) Mullvain, Dave (Debbie) Mullvain all of Beloit, WI and Daniel (Pamela) Mullvain of Rockford, IL; two sisters, Rita (Butch) Nalan and Sue (Bob) Allen both of Beloit, WI; special friend, Vic Markle of Belvidere; three aunts, Dorothy Soderlund of Green Bay, WI, Lois Mullvain of Marengo, IL, and Kay Mullvain of Minnesota; friends, Willie Dorr of Beloit, WI, Bonnie Pelto of Michigan, Mike Fallin of Beloit, WI, Michelle Barr of South Beloit, IL, Duane (Mary) Blakeman, Larry (Karen) Boyette both of Beloit, WI, John (Patti) Vance of Illinois and the Alpha Troop Alumni; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul (Judy) Polashek of Protivin, IA, Joe (Kathy) Polashek of Cresco, IA, John (Nancy) Polashek and Jan Vogel both of Protivin, IA; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bruce will be missed by family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2004 in St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Steve Kortendick officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Thursday in the church.

Burton Audiss Mills, 79, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, February 20, 2004 in the Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 14, 1924 in Endeavor, WI, the son of Burton Fay and Mary Belle Audiss Mills. Burton graduated from the Westfield High School in WI. He married Betty L. Hoffman on April 6, 1946 in Ripon, WI.

Burton was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army as a Technical Sergeant, 3rd Battalion, 411th Infantry in the European Theatre. He received the Purple Heart and won the Bronze Star. Burton has a WWII Legacy Stone placed in the Field of Honor located at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highground in Neilsville, WI. He retired from Fairbanks Morse in 1984. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he served as President of Council. Burton was also a member of the South Beloit American Legion Post #288; Troop Leader of St. Paul's Boy Scout Troop #615 and Toastmasters. He was a great hunter and fisherman, an avid bowler and golfer, a Quarter Century member with Fairbanks, and enjoyed wood crafting and taxidermy.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughters, Bonnie (Gary) Hughes of Beloit, WI, Barbara (Dick) Poseley of Roscoe, IL; son, Burton R. 'Chainsaw' (Rita) Mills of Lodi, WI; grandchildren, Jeff (Kerstin) Hughes, Brian (Stacey) Hughes, Jennifer (James) Parson, Tanya Mills, Rebecca (Donald) Razim and Erik Poseley; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, two sisters and a brother predeceased him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2004 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 617 St. Lawrence Ave, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Roger Elliott officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery, Beloit, WI. Visitation will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his name to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Grace H. Martin, 91, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, February 22, 2004 in her home.

She was born December 26, 1912 in Leyden, WI, the daughter of Otto and Rose Hofer Pastorious. Grace married Francis N. Martin on January 14, 1932 in Rockford, IL. He predeceased her on March 20, 1997. Grace was employed for many years by Piggly Wiggly and later by Kroeger's as a cashier, retiring in 1974. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, the Marian Guild and the church Seniors Club.

Survivors include her son, James (Donna) Martin of Beloit, WI; two grandchildren, Troy (Jodi) Martin and Shelley (Michael) Michalski, both of Beloit, WI; four great grandchildren, Kyle Martin, Briann Martin, Matthew Michalski and Meghan Michalski; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her parents, two sisters, Dorothy Edwardson and Ida Saunders, and her brother, Walter Pastorious, predeceased her.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2004 in St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Steve Kortendick officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in her name to St. Jude Catholic Church or Beloit Hospice.

Frank Leroy (Foxman) Muth, 76, of Beloit, WI, with his loving family surrounding him, returned to his Savior on his 76th birthday, while a patient at the U.W. Hospital in Madison, WI.

Born the12 of January, 1928 in Richland Center, WI, he was the son of Louis Edward and Maude Smith Muth. A veteran of the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne serving in Japan during WWII, he was honorably discharged in March of 1950. He then married, August 7, 1950, the former Bernice (Bea) Cummings at St. Phillip's Church in Soldiers Grove, WI.

Frank enjoyed a full life, well rounded, with his first love being with his family, and his second love, that of working. He truly enjoyed his work, which over the years included; Russ Darrow Motors, Administrator of Madison Moose Lodge, residential caretaker of Millstone Group Home and Kayser Ford all of Madison, WI, residential manager of Hillcrest Senior Apts. for eight years in Beloit, and was currently employed for the past three years as host at D.J.I.Q, LLC of Janesville and Beloit.

Frank was a real 'sport', and enjoyed bowling, card playing and was an avid golfer. He was a long time member of the Moose Family Fraternity, having received the highest honor, the Pilgrim Degree, for his many years of dedication, while serving offices on a local, state and international level. Frank was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Frank is survived by his close-knit family members, which are his wife of 53 years, Bernice (Bea) of Beloit; four sons, Dean (Sue) of Oregon, Dennis (Denise) of Janesville, David (Mary) of Madison, WI, and Bill of Beloit; his two daughters, Diana (Paul) Reed of South Beloit, IL and Dawn (Leo) Sokolik of Janesville; 14 grandchildren, namely; Tony (Jen) Muth of Milton, Heather, (Greg) Bartelt, Kristopher and Jessika Muth of Oregon, Korey (Becky) Butler of Beloit, and Jamey (Stacey) Butler of Janesville, Angela Sokolik and Andria (James) Olson of Janesville, Nicole and Casey Muth of Janesville, Brianna and Jake Muth of Madison, Michelle (Chris) Mosley of Mosul, Iraq, and Kristina Muth of Madison; two great grandsons, Dylan Muth and Parker Olson; two step grandchildren, Jamie and Cheri Reed; four step great grandchildren, Amanda , McKynzie, Christian and Hannah Reed; three sisters, Gladys Hendricks of Richland Center, WI, Lorna (Lamont) Paulson and Gloria Mickelson both of Janesville, WI; six sisters-in-law, Dorothy Muth of Richland Center, WI, Ilene Muth of Grand Marsh, WI, Jean Mates of FL, Imogene (Art) Ehorn of Gays Mills, WI, Eunice (Francis) Acketz of Jefferson, WI, Dolores (Chuck) Coyle of DeForest, WI; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, George, Louis, and Milford, two grandsons, Gregory Muth and Leo Sokolik III, in laws, William and Pearl Cummings, brothers-in-law, Jesse Hendricks, Thomas Mickelson and Chuck Coyle.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2004 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with a Loyal Order of Moose Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2004 in St. Jude Catholic Church in Beloit, WI with Fr. Steven Kortendick officiating. Visitation will also be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Saturday in the church. Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville, WI. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

David C. Mahlum, 68, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, December 30, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 14, 1935 in Beloit, WI, the son of Rudolph and Florence Anderson Mahlum. David was a 1953 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He married Kathlyn Pearson on August 26, 1956 in Beloit, WI.

David was employed by Mahlum's Service Garage on Madison Road, and later went to work for City of Beloit Public Works Department, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed working on cars, playing with his grandchildren and dog 'Harley'. David was a lifelong member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Kathlyn 'Katy' Mahlum; two daughters, Judith Kay (William) York of Muskego, WI and Susan (Wayne) Caswell of Janesville, WI; three grandchildren, William 'Billy' (Kelly Jo) York, Jessica York and Greg Tschudy; one great granddaughter, Isabella York; one brother, Dean (Ruth 'Pat') Mahlum of Beloit, WI; one sister, Joan (Jeff) Amrine of Fox Lake, IL; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Jerry (Nancy) Torkelson and Ken (Bea) Carlson; and his beloved dog, 'Harley'.

He was predeceased by his parents and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2004 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church with the Reverend Erik Jelinik officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Visitation will also be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday in the church.

Memorials may be given in his name to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Jerry McNabb, 67, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, December 24, 2003 in St. Lukes Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI.

He was born on February 10, 1936 in Beloit, WI, the son of Clarence D. and Noreen Conway McNabb. Jerry was a 1954 graduate of St. Thomas High School, Rockford, IL and a 1958 graduate of Notre Dame. While in Notre Dame Jerry was a member of the NROTC and upon graduation he received his commission as Ensign. He was a Vietnam veteran serving with the U.S. Navy, stationed with the Sea Bees in Guam and the Philippines attaining the rank of lieutenant JG. Jerry married Marilyn J. Lange on July 23, 1960 in St. Jude Catholic Church.

Jerry was employed by Beloit Corporation for 39 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Senior Men's Golf League, Beloit Corporation Quarter Century Club, retiree's monthly breakfast club and St. Thomas Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; children, Sarah (John) Badalamenti and their children, Nicholas, Cassie, Chrissy and Tessa of Phoenix, AZ, Mark (Katie) McNabb and their children, Laura, John and Will of Wauwatosa, WI, Jerry (Kim) McNabb and their children, Stephanie and Karlie of Sun Prairie, WI, Mary (Bob) Wenke of Muskego, WI and Michael (Heidi) McNabb of Grafton, WI; two sisters, Mary Noreen McNabb and Janet Marelli both of Rockford, IL; one brother, Bishop John C. McNabb of Gross Point, MI; sisters-in-law, Janet McNabb of Denver, CO and Kathryn Kline of Beloit, WI; brother-in-law, Alan Lange of Dubuque, IA; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Clarence D. McNabb Jr.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2003 in the St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Most Reverend Bishop John C. McNabb and Fr. James Kuhn concelebrating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Rosary at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will also be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday in the church.

Memorials may be given in his name to Chulucanas Mission Club.
