Victor A. Murphy II, 34, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, December 10, 2003 as a result of an automobile accident.

He was born on December 27, 1968 in Okeechobee, FL, the son of Victor A. and Nona Kay Hluhan Murphy. Victor was a 1988 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He was a Gulf War veteran serving with the U.S. Navy.

Victor was employed by Freedom Plastics. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2306.

Survivors include his parents, Victor and Nona Kay; sisters and brothers, Valerie (Paul) Flora Jr. of South Beloit, IL, Vickie (Steve) Souther of Albany, GA, Samuel D. Murphy of Mauston, WI, Valerie Hirst of Beloit, WI, Vance (Eleanor) Hirst of Bergen, IL, Mr. & Mrs. Victor Hirst of Beloit, WI, Vickie (Leslie) Gay of Reedsburg, WI, Joann (Kenny) Ames of Los Angeles, CA, Nona Kay Long of Albuquerque, NM and Virginia Long of Beloit, WI; great aunt, Sophie Poole and her son, Wes of Bethel Park, PA; aunt, Treasure (David) Harding of AL; uncles, Donald (Joyce) Hirst of Beloit, WI and Larry (Judy) Hirst of Tomah, WI; nieces, Cassandra Murphy who was like a sister of Beloit, WI, Brandi Flora of Wichita Falls, TX, Andrea and Nancy Souther; nephews, David Flora of New River, NC and Nathan Souther; many other nieces and nephews; various aunts, uncles and cousins; close friends, Michael Considine, P.J. Considine, Bill Chamberlin and too many others to mention.

He was predeceased by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Norman Starks officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

A memorial will be established in his name at a later date.

Alyce P. Mitok, 76, of Beloit, WI, and Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Monday, December 1, 2003 at Haven House, Janesville, WI.

She was born August 16, 1927 in Joliet, IL, the daughter of August and Emilie Menzel Kuempel. Alyce married George W. Mitok on October 12, 1946 in Joliet, IL. Together they raised six wonderful children.

Alyce worked many years at Stuarts and Mr. G's in the Beloit Plaza and in the recent summer months at Pearl Lake, South Beloit, IL. Since their retirement to Florida, she had enjoyed sewing costumes and acting in little theater, gardening, line dancing and many other activities that enriched her life. Alyce always found time to make those cherished 'special homemade gifts' for her children at Christmas time. She was a member of Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Zephyrhills, FL. Alyce was a teacher's aid at Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic School and a member of the Altar Society and the Liturgical Commission.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, George; their children, Genie (Ed) Hollenbeck, Alison (Doug Hare) Buroker both of Beloit, WI, Karen (Ken Valdovinos) Mitok, Lori (Larry) Reetz both of Janesville, WI, Tom (Carol) Mitok of Beloit, WI and David Mitok of Poplar Grove, IL; 12 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth (James) McNichols and Lori (Bill) Markley both of Joliet, IL; one brother, Harold (Linda) Kuempel of Lake View, Oregon; two sisters-in-law, Eva Iverson and Mary Soley both of Joliet, IL.

Alyce was a very warm and giving person and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Her family can be comforted in knowing that she is free. The family would like to thank the nursing and aid staff at Beloit Health & Rehabilitation Center, Beloit Memorial Hospital Special Care Unit, Beloit Regional Hospice and Haven House for taking such good care of our wife, mother and grandmother. We Love You!

She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters and one brother.

Prayer services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, followed by Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Entombment will be in Mt. Thabor Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2003 in the funeral home with the Rosary at 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made payable to Genie Hollenbeck 6528 Edgewater Drive, Beloit, WI 53511. Memorials will be dispersed by the family to Beloit Regional Hospice, Haven House, and the Little Theatre in Zephyrhills, FL.

Dolores May 'Dee' McMahon, 72, of South Beloit, IL, went to be with her creator Thursday, November 20, 2003 in her home under the loving care given by her caregiver, Millie Cudjoe and Hospice.

She was born March 24, 1931 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Frank Soben and Irene Brown.
Dee was a 1949 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. She married LeRoy McMahon on October 12, 1952 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on April 25, 1985.

Dee was employed by Freeman Shoe Company for 6 years and Pate Foods for 16 years, retiring in 1990. She was a former member of the South Beloit American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Dee enjoyed puzzles, gambling bus trips, going to the movies, the Fireside Theatre, Friday concerts at Harry's Place and especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and dear friend Eloise Manley.

Survivors include her two children, Tim (Kris) McMahon of Beloit, WI, and Kimberly (Russ) Landis of Burlington, IA; six grandchildren, Katie (Damien) Sonley, Elizabeth (Frank) Waugh, Brian Landis, Darcie Landis, Delanie McMahon, and Rosie McMahon; two brothers, Larry Herbst and John (Rose) Fitzgerald both of Beloit, WI.

She was predeceased by her parents, one son, Thomas, one daughter, Denise, one grandson, Roy Landis and sister, Carol Whipple.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Margaret L. Mitchell, 84, of Tiffany, WI (rural Beloit) died Saturday, October 18, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 21, 1919 in Leaf River, IL, the daughter of Albert A. and Anna E. Borneman Tutt. Margaret was a graduate of Leaf River High School. She attended beauty school in Rockford, IL. Margaret married R. Wayne Mitchell on October 19, 1941 in St. James Lutheran Church, Foreston, IL. He predeceased her on September 8, 1994.

Margaret was a member of Central Christian Church for 30 years where she was involved in the J.O.Y. Circle, T.L.C and serving groups. She was a past member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Beloit, WI. Margaret was a lifelong beautician and was currently employed as the pianist for Shopiere Congregational Church. She was a weekly volunteer at Premier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing where she played the piano. She also played piano for New Zion Senior Meal Site. Margaret was a member of the Shopiere Garden Club, Shopiere 500 card club and a past member of Sweet Adelines. She was an Avon representative for 30 years. Margaret loved to do needlework and make afghans for others, and enjoyed gardening and houseplants.

Survivors include her children, Dennis Mitchell of Simsbury, CT and Annette (Raymond) Jewell of Henry, IL; five grandchildren, Amanda, David, and Lindsay Mitchell of Evergreen Park, IL, Joshua and Anna Jewell of Henry, IL; one sister, Florence (Leo) Pizzolato of Freeport, IL.

Margaret had a strong faith in Christ and expressed it through her musical gifts, friendships and services to others.

She was predeceased by her parents, one brother and sister in infancy.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2003 in Central Christian Church with the Pastor Norman Starks officiating, assisted by Reverend Dr. Larry Correll and Pastor Gloria Halversen. Burial will be in Turtleville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her name.

Carol Lee Morrison, 67, of Sun Valley East, Beloit, WI, died Sunday, September 28, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born August 29, 1936 in Winchester, KS, the daughter of Fred and Nina Housh Brown. Carol was a graduate of Kansas City Art Institute. She married Kenneth Raymond Morrison on September 9, 1954 in Topeka, Kansas.

Survivors include her son, Greg (Dianne) Morrison of Beloit, WI; her daughter, Kristin (Paul) Frascione of Gainesville, VA; four grandchildren, Carly and Lucas Morrison of Beloit, WI, Nikki and Cody Frascione of Gainesville, VA; one brother, Holly (Thelma) Brown of Olathe, KS.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Mark Dilley officiating Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2003 in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka, KS. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until the time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.

Virginia (Bennett) McGraw, 75, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, September 27, 2003 in Beloit Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born November 28, 1927 in Janesville, WI, the daughter of Percy G. and Ida Trumpy Bennett. Virginia married Earl Richard McGraw on August 23, 1947 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on January 28, 1979.

Virginia was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a member of the PTA every year.

Survivors include her two sons, Fredrick (Elizabeth) McGraw of Minnesota, and Michael (Debbie) McGraw of Oconomowoc, WI; six granddaughters, Chris Althauser, Julie Staffin, Cheri Tangen, Kelly Campa, Tammy Holmes and Cari Heise; several great grandchildren; one niece and nephew.

She was predeceased by her parents, daughter, Diana (Steven) Vivian, two sisters, Lillian (Donald) Holtz and Gloria (Alvin) Morton.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Roger Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.

Freda P. Meyer, 86, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, September 19, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born September 4, 1917 in Rural LaFarge, Vernon County, WI, the daughter of Frank and Aleda Olson Hysel. Freda was a 1937 graduate of LaFarge High School. She married Jerome Charles Stoikes in October of 1937. He predeceased her in January of 1956. She later married Floyd N. Meyer on March 13, 1965 in LaCrescent, MN. He predeceased her on September 3, 1990.

Freda was a housewife and farmed on the family farm with her husband. She was a member of Southern Wisconsin Bible Students.

Survivors include her daughter, Dixie (Neale) Hamilton of Beloit, WI, two sons, David (Nancy) Stoikes of Laotto, IN, and Donald (Linda) Stoikes of Fon du lac, WI; eight grandchildren, Jerome (Sheila) Stoikes, Paul Stoikes, Corintha (Tod) Montanye, Jeremy Stoikes, Alan Hamilton, Timothy Hamilton, Nathaniel Stoikes, and Matthew Stoikes; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Florence Wilkinson; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Jonathon and Donald.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Elder Paul Mezera officiating. Burial will be in the Shrine of Memories Mausoleum, Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.

Joyce Elaine Mauhar, 78, of Beloit, WI, died Thursday, September 18, 2003 in her home.

She was born July 31, 1925 in Minong, WI, the daughter of Claude and Pearl Spencer Coleman.
Joyce earned certification as a business secretary through Eau Claire Technical College.

Joyce held many positions with insurance and manufacturing companies. She was the office manager of her husband's business Mauhar Sharpening and Machinery. 'Mom' Mauhar enjoyed cooking and baking. She had a lifelong collection of cookbooks emphasizing community and ethnic specialties. Joyce enjoyed camping, fishing, and family gatherings were always a special time for her. She brought joy and love to all she knew. Joyce's passion in life was directed towards her immediate and extended family including numerous stepchildren from troubled homes.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 58 years, Anthony Mauhar Sr.; three children, Ann (Tony) Konopa of Frankfort, IN, Anthony (Nancy) Mauhar Jr. of Olympia, WA, and Betsy Marlowe of Beloit, WI; seven grandchildren, Mark Konopa, Kim Konopa, Niki Lewis, Adam Mauhar, Katelyn Mauhar, Matthew Marlowe, Christopher Marlowe, and Shameen Shaik; seven great grandchildren; other siblings, Claude (Vicky) Coleman Jr. of Crystal Lake, IL, Gary (Paula) Coleman of Beloit, WI, Michael (Doreen) Coleman of Beloit, WI, Dennis (Tammy) Coleman of Janesville, WI, Lois Weber of Albuquerque, NM and Alfred Coleman.

She was predeceased by her parents and three siblings, Duane Coleman, Laura Korner and Terry Coleman.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2003 in the Central Christian Church. There will be no visitation. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

A memorial will be established in her name at a later date.
