PHYLLIS MCKEARN, 76, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, March 23, 2003 in her home.

She was born May 11, 1926 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Floyd and Dora Brandenburg Barton. Phyllis was a 1942 graduate of Beloit High School. Phyllis married James M. McKearn on June 7, 1947 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on August 26, 1998.

Phyllis was employed by the City of Beloit as a secretary for East Lawn and Oakwood Cemetery. She was a member of the Marine Corp League Auxiliary. Phyllis was a member of Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sherrie McKearn and Debbie (Bob) Serotini both of Beloit, WI; four granddaughters, Katie McKearn and Alison McKearn of Beloit, WI, Annie Serotini and Jody (Chad) McLain of Roscoe, IL; three great grandsons, Gregory, Blake, and Corey; one brother, Fred Barton of Washington, DC; several nieces, nephews and many life long caring friends.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2003 in the Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. There will be no visitation. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be given to Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church or Beloit Regional Hospice.

THELMA MORSE, 88, of 1852 Garfield Ave. Beloit, WI, died Saturday, March 22, 2003 in Sun Valley West, Beloit, WI.

She was born December 6, 1914 in Birnamwood, WI, the daughter of George W. and Anna Trapp Durkop. Thelma was a 1933 graduate of Marion High School. Thelma married Arnold Justice Morse on December 2, 1938 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on February 11, 2003. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Beloit, WI.

Survivors include one daughter, Anne (Karl) Schilling of Beloit; one son, Thomas (Sandi) Morse of Manassas, VA, six grandchildren, Sandy (Dave) Hall, Rhonda Rodriquez, Brian Morse, Bradley (Lynn) Schilling, Steven (Christine) Schilling, and Paul (Tammy) Schilling; 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Adelaide Kniebes of Waupaca, WI.

She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Reverend Roger Elliott officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of services in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be given in her name to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

J. HARRY (MAC) MCINTYRE, 89, of Rockton, IL, died Friday, March 21, 2003 in his home.

He was born April 18, 1913 in Milwaukee, WI, son of John and Edith Milton McIntyre. Harry married Phyllis Allen on June 30, 1937. She predeceased him on December 21, 1987.

He was associated with State Line Plumbing and Heating Company of South Beloit, IL, since 1948, becoming owner in 1974, until he retired in 1990. Mac was a member of the Wisconsin Plumbing and Heating Contractors Association. He was a lifetime member of the Beloit Elks Club, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Illinois and the Roscoe Masonic Lodge No. 75.

Survivors include his son, Dr. John McIntyre of Indiana polis, IN; daughter, Kathryne (Frank) Carriglitto of Rockford, IL; grandchildren; Andrew McIntyre, Meg McIntyre, Ted Carriglitto, Dawn Jones and Matthew Carriglitto; two great granddaughters; Christina and Courtney Jones.

He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis, parents, sisters; Dorothy Marsden, Gertrude O'Donnell and great grandson Joshua Carriglitto.

The family wishes to thank Beloit Hospice and those very dear friends who were so special to him, especially his very special angel, Rita.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2003 in Rockton Cemetery, with the Reverend Murray Hanson officiating. There will be no visitation. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Beloit Hospice.

ARNOLD JUSTICE MORSE, 89, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, February 11, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 22, 1913 in South Beloit, IL, the son of Justice and Clara Kreppell Morse. Arnold was a 1932 graduate of South Beloit High School. He married Thelma Durkop in Beloit, WI.

Arnold was employed by the Beloit Fire Department as captain, retiring in 1972. He was an avid wood carver and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling. Arnold was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma of Beloit, WI; one daughter, Anne (Karl) Schilling of Beloit, WI; one son, Thomas (Sandi) Morse of Manassas, VA; six grandchildren, Sandy (Dave) Hall, Rhonda Rodriquez, Brian Morse, Bradley (Lynn) Schilling, Steven (Christine) Schilling, and Paul (Tammy) Schilling; twelve great grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Louise) Morse of Hayward, WI.

He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, Justice and one sister, Lucille.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend William Wagner officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery will be held at a later date. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until the time of services Saturday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

James Roland 'Jim' Nider, 70, of Beloit, WI, was called home by the Lord on Monday, January 10, 2005 in his home.

He was born on March 27, 1934 in Afton, KS, the son of Joseph B. and Ida E. (Martinson) Nider. Jim graduated from Marysville High School and Ottawa University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Jim married Margaret C. Baptist on March 31, 1959 in Frankfort, KS. She predeceased him on November 24, 1992.

Jim was employed by Beloit Corporation, Olson Pattern & Foundry, Stateline Foundry and was last employed by OMC, where he retired in 1998. He had received two Presidential Citations for saving lives. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church of Beloit, WI. He loved to travel, play golf, joke with friends, eat at Roherty's his favorite restaurant, take and label pictures, listen to music and spend time with his family. Jim felt his mission in life was to make people smile. His wit and humor will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his children, Katherine (Stephen) Mentele of Janesville, WI and James J. (Cecilia) Nider of Combined Locks, WI; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Mentele, William Mentele, Robert Mentele, Elizabeth Mentele, Alexandra Nider, Aaron Nider and Victoria Nider; two sisters, Dorothy (Bernard) Kindred and Jo Ann (Lawrence) Creevan both of Utah; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Mary Sorensen.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2005 in the First Baptist Church with the Reverend Gene VanGalder officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

Memorials may be given in his name to First Baptist Church.

Adam R. Newton, 35, of Whitewater, WI, died Sunday, November 21, 2004 surrounded by his family at Mercy Hospital, as the result of injuries from a hunting accident.

He was born December 8, 1968 in Madison, WI, the son of Dan and Lynnette Baxter Newton. Adam graduated from Clinton High School in 1987and attended the University of Stout and Madison Area Technical College. He was employed as a chef at Beloit College and a chef at the 615 Club in Beloit.

Adam loved children, the outdoors, animals and historical re-enactments. He was trained in CPR and was the first to offer assistance. Adam set the example for others to follow.

Adam was a kind and generous person who always found the best in people. He did so many good things for so many others. 'He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.'

Survivors include his parents, Lynnette Newton of Clinton, WI, and Dan Newton of Milwaukee, WI; his closest friends, Katharine 'Kat' Bach of Whitewater, WI, Andrew Green of Michigan. He was also survived by his aunt, Sue (Edward) Madere of Oregon; two cousins, Paul and Todd Madere; and numerous friends.

He was predeceased by his grandparents.

A Service of Remembrance will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI 53511. There will be a private family burial. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday until time of the service in the funeral home.

A memorial fund in his name is being established.

Carole A. Newton, 68, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2004 following a lengthy illness.

She was born on April 12, 1936 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of the late Lewis and Laura (Lehman) Wilke. She was a 1954 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School and attended the University of Wisconsin Whitewater.

Prior to moving to Florida, she worked for 21 years at Beloit Corporation in Beloit, WI, as the assistant director of Corp. advertising. While in Florida, she worked for the Charter Company as the coordinator of Graphic Services and then with Paramount Miller as production manager, typography and design. Carole enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, knitting, reading, entertaining and traveling. She had a wonderful love of teddy bears and had an extensive collection of them.

Survivors include her husband, Wallace Newton, with whom she would have been married 25 years this August. She leaves a son, Richard (Rena) Sheldon of Amherst Junction, WI; a sister, Geraldine (Donald) Jordan of Beloit, WI; three stepdaughters, Cindy Adams of Turner Falls, MA, Cheryl Fraga of Alameda, CA and Nancy Edwards of Greenfield, MA; and stepson, Jeffrey (Sharon) Newton of Hinsdale, NH.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Roger Elliott officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Friday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to Northeast Florida Community Hospice.

AMY M. NULL, 83, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 in Premier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing.

She was born November 13, 1920 in Shullsburg, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Amy Wilson Alderson. Amy attended Clinton High School. She married G.W. Kopp on December 23, 1939 in Shopiere Methodist Church. He predeceased her on August 5, 1981. Amy later married Robert L. Null on June 11, 1983 in Shopiere Methodist Church. He predeceased her on March 17, 2000.

Amy was employed all her life in area restaurants as a waitress, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Joy Circle and the garden club at Central Christian Church and at Shopiere Methodist Church, Floral Chapter #108 Eastern Star of Clinton, WI for 46 years and Worthy Matron for 91/2 years. Amy was a past member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the Shopiere card club. She was a former member of the Shopiere Methodist Church and currently a member of Central Christian Church. Amy enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and playing cards.

Survivors include her two grandchildren, Amy Marie (Jeff) Latta of Beloit, WI and William (Sherrie) Gray of Madison, WI; four great grandchildren, Nicholas and Brandon Wendt, Amber and Zachary Gray; son-in-law, Maynard (Alice) Gray of Beloit, WI; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, daughter, Amy Louise Gray, seven brother and sisters, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2004 in Central Christian Church with Pastor David Meding and Reverend Ian Stirrat officiating. Burial will be in Shopiere Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

A memorial will be established in her name.
