Alice T. Palmini, 87, of 545 Public Avenue, Beloit, WI, died Friday, March 5, 2004 in the University of Wisconsin Madison Hospital.

She was born April 30, 1916 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Jeramiah J. and Alice E. Flynn Glynn. Alice attended Austin High School in Chicago, IL. She married Amos D. Palmini on June 12, 1948 in St. Mel’s Church, Chicago, IL. He predeceased her on November 12, 1981.

Alice was employed by Klenzade Products in South Beloit, IL and later was the owner and operator with her husband of the Prairie Chef Restaurant on Prairie Avenue in Beloit, WI, retiring in 1976. She was a charter member of Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church where she served on the Altar Society and many other church ministries. Alice enjoyed bowling and golfing.

Survivors include two sisters, Catherine McLaughlin and Frances (Sam) Musillami both of Chicago, IL; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Helen and Marie.

Prayer services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. in Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Harold J. Perkins, 86, of Beloit, WI, died Thursday, January 8, 2004 in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 27, 1917 in Beloit, WI, the son of Walter and Angelina Crave Perkins. Harold married Beverly L. Schmale on October 24, 1942.

Harold farmed all his life in Southern Wisconsin. In 1944 he purchased his own farm by trading in a Chevy Coup for the down payment. Harold raised beef cattle and farmed over 600 acres during his farming career until his retirement at age 75. He was a member of the Serra Club, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Msgr. Joseph E. Hanz Assembly #1209, the Farm Bureau, NFO, Renk Seed, and St. Jude Catholic Church. Harold was a 4-H leader and member. As a Renk Seed sales representative, Harold and his wife Beverly traveled around the world and enjoyed visiting their children from coast to coast.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly; nine children, Penny (Ed) Hansen of Beloit, WI, Janie (Bill) Dietsch of Beloit, WI, Jim (Patricia) Perkins of Elgin, IL, Joe (Paula) Perkins of Beloit, WI, Sara Perkins of Madison, WI, Peter (Susie) Perkins of Calais, VT, David (Barb) Perkins of Black Earth, WI, Patrick Perkins of Walnut Creek, CA, and Gerilynn Perkins of Monona, WI; 25 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; one brother, Don (Ethel) Perkins of Sacramento, CA; two sisters, Phyllis (Orman) Speed and Dorothy (Don) Sowatzke; sister-in-law, Alberta Perkins; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Bernard and Ed Perkins, four grandchildren, Sonja Hansen, Salena Hansen, Lisa Hansen and Grayson Perkins.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2004 in St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Steven Kortendick officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with a Scripture Service at 4 p.m.

Memorials may be given in his name to St. Jude Catholic Church or Beloit Regional Hospice.

Robert “Bob” Pokorney, 82, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, December 28, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born on June 29, 1921 in Chelsea, IA, the son of Louis L. and Ruth Mason Pokorney. Bob attended South Beloit Schools. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army as a welder and a Sea Bee. Bob married Helen Marie Herriot in November of 1966. She predeceased him on September 16, 2001.

Bob was a scrap iron dealer before the war. He later was an independent semi truck owner and operator, and in the 1960’s he owned Porky’s snack bar and carwash in Beloit. Bob then moved into the used car business as Ace Auto Sales of Beloit. His motto was ‘buy anything-sell everything.”

Survivors include his children: Robert (Michelle) Pokorney II, Sandy (Joe) Valdez, Robin (Debbie) Brose all of Beloit, WI, and Jim (Nancy) Pokorney of Shell Lake, WI; grandchildren, Jack, Marie, Megan, Rocendo, JoJo, Leah, Lisa, Billy, Margrett, and Jessica; many great grandchildren; one brother, Laverne Pokorney of Sedona, AZ; one sister, Joyce Long of Beloit, WI.

A special thanks to the Beloit Dialysis center and Premier Care for all their love and attention.

He was predeceased by his parents and stepson, Charles Brose.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Beloit Dialysis Center.

Dica M. Paris, 98, of Roscoe, IL, died Thursday, December 4, 2003 in Fair Oaks Health Care Center, South Beloit, IL.

She was born August 30, 1905 in Clay County, IL, the daughter of Todd and Gertrude Hammer Lewis. Dica married William A. Paris on October 15, 1924 in Olney, IL. He predeceased her on November 30, 1979.

Dica enjoyed painting ceramics and playing bingo. She was a member of Congregational Community Church, Roscoe, IL where she taught Sunday School class.

Survivors include her children, Wilma Wienzierl of Roscoe, IL, Charles W. Paris of Loves Park, IL, Audrey (Nicholes) Migliore of Roscoe, IL, David Paris of Caledonia, IL, and Donald (Mary) Paris of Roscoe, IL; ten grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers, three grandchildren, son-in-law, and one great grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2003 at Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be given to Harlem-Roscoe Rescue Squad.

Jan Phillips, 55, of Clinton, WI, joined the Lord Sunday, November 2, 2003 surrounded by her family.

Jan was born November 29, 1947 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Richard and Arlene (Johnson) Fischer. Jan was a 1965 graduate of Brodhead High School. She married Thomas Phillips on October 4, 1969 in St. Patrick’s Church, Rockford, IL.

Jan will forever love her children and grandchildren and she dedicated herself to all their activities. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, WI, where she was an elder, deacon, and involved in many committees over the years.

Jan was known for her wisdom, wit and ability to laugh. She will be dearly missed by her family and all that knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Thomas; three children, Andrew (Georgine) Phillips of Milwaukee, WI, Eric (Jill) Phillips of Rome, WI, and Megan (Matt) Dietzenbach of DeForest, WI; two grandchildren, Reese and Taylor Phillips; her parents, Richard and Arlene (Johnson) Fischer of Beloit, WI; one brother, Ronald (Debbie) Fischer of Oregon, WI; one sister, Patricia (Kent) Parks of Fort Atkinson, WI; numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Melvin (Clara) Fischer and Henry (Agnes) Johnson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2003 in the First Presbyterian Church, 312 Church Street, Clinton, WI, with the Reverend Walter Hackney officiating. Burial will be in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, Seward, Illinois.

Jan was a warrior and courageously fought to overcome lung cancer. She wants to help give others a chance and would appreciate that memorials be given in her name to ALCASE “Alliance for Lung Cancer Advocacy Support Education”

Wesley T. Paddock, 32, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, October 3, 2003 in his home.

He was born April 17, 1971 in Rockford, IL, the son of Wesley D. and Veronica C. (Kitko) Paddock. Wesley was a 1989 graduate of North Manchester High School in Indiana and a graduate of Southwestern Illinois College.

Survivors include his mother, Veronica Paddock of Collinsville, IL; his father, Wesley D. Paddock of Beloit, WI; two brothers, David Paddock of Caseyville, IL and Michael Paddock of Collinsville, IL; maternal grandparents, Frank (Joanne) Kitko of Ramey, PA; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Paddock of Beloit, WI; one uncle, Thomas (Judy) Kitko of Madison, AL; two aunts, Teresa Kitko of Wilmington, DE and Jeanne Kitko of State College, PA.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Wesley W. Paddock.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Steven Kortendick officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the time of services Friday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in Wesley’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Otho H. Purdy, 73, of Beloit, WI, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 9, 2003 in his home.

He was born August 31, 1930 in Tomah, WI, the son of Hugh Phillip and Meta Wilde Purdy. Otho was a graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He married Barbara Miller on May 16, 1964 in South Beloit, IL.

Otho was employed by Chrysler for 29 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #191 and the UAW of Belvidere. Otho enjoyed golf, horse shoes, playing cribbage, fishing, bowling, dancing, ice skating, roller skating, watching and reading westerns, snow plowing and working in the yard. He was an avid Packer fan. Otho was a member of Cornerstone Church of God and a member of Abundant Life. He was a member of AA.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Barbara Purdy of Beloit, WI; six children, Trudy (Mike) Sminchak of Roscoe, IL, Kathy (Randy) Leindecker of Beloit, WI, Tim Jenson of Janesville, WI, Jennifer (Andy) Hill, Kimberly Purdy both of South Beloit, IL, and Joel (DeeDee) Purdy of Beloit, WI; 15 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Darrel Purdy of Janesville, WI, and Bernard Purdy of Janesville, WI; two sisters, Marceida Purdy of Beloit, WI, and Karen (Werner) Fahrney of Beloit, WI; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marilyn (Norm) Hamilton, Carol Hutchison, Lois Crain, Joyce (Dennis) Busch, Mary Kay Ramsay, Terry (Steve) Krehoff, Laurie (Randy) Cecil, Robin Ramsay, Donna Miller, James (Vallie) Miller, Thomas (Norma) Miller, and Gerald (Betty Lou) Miller.

He was predeceased by his parents, two sons, Kenneth Purdy and Timmy Purdy, grandson, Curtis Robbins, brother, Ortwin Purdy, mother-in-law, Evelyn Ramsay, several nieces, and nephews

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2003 in the Cornerstone Church of God with Pastor David L. Metzger and Pastor Floyd Enquist officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. There will be no visitation. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be given in his name to Beloit Regional Hospice.

ANDREW JAY “Andy” PETERSON, 36, of Austin, TX, formerly of Sharon, WI, passed away Monday, August 25, 2003.

He was born November 17, 1966 in Menominee Falls, WI, the son of George and Jerilyn LeBaron Peterson. Andy lived in Beloit for his first 2 ½ years. After which time he moved with his parents to the Peterson family farm in Sharon, WI. Andy enjoyed his life on the farm with many animals for pets. He attended Clinton Schools. Andy attended U.W. Whitewater College. He moved to Madison and then onto Austin, TX. He worked and attended college over the years in Austin, until his death.

Andrew is survived by his parents, George and Jerilyn Peterson; aunts, uncles, many cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Norman and Florence Peterson, and Vernon and Lorraine LeBaron, two aunts, one uncle, and baby cousin.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Dan Taylor officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
