Loren C. Rosenow, 82, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, May 31, 2004 in his home.

He was born May 2, 1922 in Whiteside County, IL, the son of Frank Carl and Georgia Lee Carroll Rosenow. Loren was a 1941 graduate of Beloit High School. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Saidor Aircraft Carrier. Loren married Alice Jo “Dody” Goldsworthy on April 7, 1945 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She predeceased him on September 4, 1987.

Loren was formerly employed by Fairbanks Morse & Company and retired in 1982 from Beloit Corporation after 31 years. He was a member of the Paperchine Club and a lifetime member of First Baptist Church. Loren was a volunteer at Beloit Memorial Hospital and was the secretary for the city of Beloit bowling leagues.

Survivors include his children, Evan Carroll, V. Lee Rosenow both of Beloit, WI and Beth Ann (Larry) Weeden of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Penny (Sam) Thiering of Beloit, WI and Matthew K. Weeden of Colorado Springs, CO; great grandchildren, Samantha Thiering and Sierra Thiering; sister, Lois (Robert) Podewils of Necedah, WI; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, son, Richard Thomas Rosenow, twin sister, Lorraine Looker, brothers, Howard, Donald, Robert and Kenneth.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2004 in the First Baptist Church with the Reverend Gene Van Galder officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services Friday in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be given in his name to Meals on Wheels.

Margaret May Richardson, 95, of Lombard, IL and formerly of Beloit, WI, died Thursday, May 27, 2004 in Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Elk Grove Village, IL.

She was born on October 13, 1908 in Boone County, IL, the daughter of Frank T. and Gertrude B. Hyndman Ellingson. Margaret was a 1926 graduate of Capron High School, Capron, IL. She married Earl C. Richardson on August 29, 1942 in Elmhurst, IL. He predeceased her on May 2, 1976.

Margaret began her working career as a telephone operator while in High School. After graduating from high school, she taught school for one year in rural Capron. She then became the manager of the telephone company in Capron. In 1930, she started working for the telephone company in Beloit until 1946. Margaret then became a surveyor’s assistance with her husband until her retirement in 1976. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Capron, IL, served on the advisory committee for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and the Wisconsin Bell Telephone Pioneers. She was a volunteer for the Blood Bank at Beloit Memorial Hospital. Margaret was a member of the First United Methodist Church serving as the past secretary of the Membership Committee.

Survivors include her three nephews, William Jack and David Jack both of Villa Park, IL, and James Marshall of Grand Rapids, MN; one niece, Marjorie Kehoe of Pardeeville, WI.

She was predeceased by her parents, three sisters, Marjorie F. Jack, Gertrude Modeen and Elizabeth Ellingson, two brothers, Robert Marshall and Francis Ellingson, brother-in-law, Vern Richardson, two nephews, Eugene Marshall and Robert Marshall.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2004 in the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery, Roscoe, IL. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

Walter Z. (Bud) Richardson, Jr., 50, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004 in his home.

He was born August 26, 1953 in Beloit, WI, the son of Walter and Wilma Austin Richardson. Walter attended Beloit School District. He married Debbie Cruse on July 8, 1972 in Beloit, WI. Walter was employed by Beloit Corporation for 28 years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and was an avid Green Bay Packer and Nascar fan.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Debbie; two daughters, Jaime (Cyle) Valentin and Denise (Richard) Schober; five grandchildren, Alex and Tyler Wadel, Summer, Jayden and Brooke Schober; his beloved cat, Velvet; his father, Walter Richardson and step-mom, Sandy; brother, Gilbert (Sandy) Richardson; sisters, Judy (Phillip) Batchelor of N.Y, Marguerite (Ronald) Rains of Beloit, WI, and Beverly (Mike) Hudson; step-sister, Tana Crawford of Lubbock, TX; step-brothers, Mike, Kevin and Brent Holloway; special aunt, Beatrice Spurling; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and two very special friends, Neil Quinn and Less Moldenhoure.

He was predeceased by his mother, Wilma Richardson, maternal grandparents, Bertha and Elmer Austin, paternal grandparents, William Richardson, Clara Cordts and Eva Clary.

Funeral Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI with the Reverend Gene VanGalder officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Clarice “Jeane” Richard, 87, of Clinton, WI, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004 in Alden Meadow Park Health Care Center, Clinton, WI.

She was born May 11, 1916 in Kerney, NE, the daughter of Harry and Grace Ward Wagner. Jean was a graduate of Elgin High School. Jeane was predeceased by her first husband Floyd “Al” Allen Shear whom she married in Beloit, WI. She later married Leroy Richard in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her.

Jeane was employed by Beloit Memorial Hospital for 12 years, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and baking.

Survivors include her children, Bill Shear of Janesville, WI, Mike (Kathy) Shear of South Beloit, IL, Tom (Judy) Shear of Rockford, Il, Nora (Mick) Greve of Tower, MN and David Richard of South Beloit, IL; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; one sister, Elaine Schmidt of Elgin, IL.

She was predeceased by her parents and son, Joel Shear.

Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Gene Van Galder officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services Friday in the funeral home.

Verne D. Richardson, 89, of South Beloit, IL, died Saturday, December 20, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born October 5, 1914 in Roscoe Township, IL, the son of Clifford B. and Alpha R. Michael Richardson. Verne was a 1933 graduate of Beloit High School.

Verne was a bee keeper and farmed on the family farm on Manchester Road. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Myrtle Lodge #10 and the Winnebago County farm Bureau. Verne was the past director of the Winnebago Mutual Insurance company. He attended First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Margaret Richardson of Lombard, IL; several cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Earl Richardson.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Jim Rowlette officiating. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery, Roscoe, IL. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in his name to First United Methodist Church.

Barbara T. Rykowski, 74, of Janesville, WI, died Saturday, December 6, 2003 in Rock County Health Care Center.

She was born October 23, 1929 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Edward and Maude Matson Ternan. Barb was a graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. She was employed by Freeman Shoes and Beloit Memorial Hospital. Barb was a former member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Barb lived her life as a very caring and gentle person, who found her true love and married him, Fredrick Rykowski in 1961. They were blessed in 1963 with a beautiful, healthy baby girl Susan. Barb was a very loving person. If she could, she would tell everyone who took such good care of her, thank you, and that she loved her daughter more than anything. She will be missed very much.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Michael) Melton of Beloit, WI; two stepsons, John (Lee) Rykowski and Fred Rykowski, both of South Beloit, IL.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Fred.

Funeral services will be 1:30p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Steven Kortendick officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Rock County Health Care Center.

Gloria Ann Ray, 60, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, November 2, 2003.

She was born November 20, 1942 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Walter and Ruby Hiatt Wood. Gloria attended South Beloit schools. She married Donald Ray on October 7, 1961 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on May 18, 1996.

Gloria was employed by Freeman Shoe Company. She was a member of Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church.

Survivors include her three brothers, Robert (Denise) Wood of South Beloit, IL, James (Dea) Wood of Beloit, WI and Thomas (Joann) Wood of South Carolina; one sister, Norma Wohlfert of Westfield, WI; brother-in-law, Michael (Sharon) Ray of Beloit, WI; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Walter and Joseph Wood, one sister, Mary Ellen.

Prayer services will be at 11:15 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Friday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

Clara J. Raymer, 89, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, October 27, 2003 at her home.

She was born June 11, 1914 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of George and Marie Fritz Simeral. Clara was a 1932 graduate of Beloit High School. She married Laurence A. Raymer on May 6, 1944 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on February 5, 1992.

Clara was employed by Beloit Daily News, Beloit State Bank, and was a volunteer Poll Worker for the City of Beloit. She was an active member of First Congregational Church, since 1942, where she served as a Deaconess, sang in the choir, and was a member of the Ladies Guild. Clara was a member of the Beloit Memorial Hosptial Auxiliary.

Survivors include her two sons, Steven (Barbara) Raymer of Bloomington, IN, and Thomas S. (Patricia) Raymer of Beloit, WI; a sister, Katherine (John) MacWain of Beloit, WI; granddaughters, Katelynn (Scott) Metz of Bethesda, MD; Susanna Raymer of Washington, DC; step grandson, Kenneth (Donna) Granger of Rockwall, TX; step great grandchildren, Adrian Granger and Eric Granger both of Rockwall, TX; a nephew, James (Sherri) MacWain, Bellingham, WA; a great niece, Sandra (Jay) Kuehn of Whitefish Bay, WI.

She was predeceased by her parents, sister, Eleanor Trexler, and a niece, Carole Richards.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2003 in the First Congregational Church with the Reverend Shawn Stapleton oficiating. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI assisted the family.

Memorials may be given in her name to First Congregational Church and Beloit Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
