Ivan Linzy Robinson, 103, of Rockford, IL, died Wednesday, September 17, 2003 in his son’s home.

He was born April 5, 1900 in Hub City, WI, the son of Alberto and Ella McBain Robinson. Ivan married Catherine E. Gharity on august 7, 1926 in Viroqua, WI. She predeceased him on October 30, 1982.

Ivan was self-employed stonemason and logger. He was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Rockford, IL.

Survivors include his two sons, George (Darlene) Robinson of Necedah, WI and Donald (June) Robinson of Rockford, IL; one daughter, Judy (Harry) Morse of Friendship, WI; 25 grandchildren; 62 great grandchildren; and 38 great great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, one son, Bernard E. Robinson and two grandchildren, Bernard D. Robinson and Thomas Pfaff.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2003 in St. Edward’s Catholic Church 3026 11th Street, Rockford, IL, with Fr. Monte Robinson officiating. Burial will be at 4:00 p.m. Monday in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Elroy, WI. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Monday in the church.

A memorial will be established in Ivan’s name.

KATHY J. REYNOLDS, 51, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, August 20, 2003 in her home.

She was born February 14, 1952 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Robert K. and Lorraine M. Koch Reynolds. Kathy graduated from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and also received a Masters Degree from the University of Maryland. She married John W. Patch on January 2, 2003 in the First Presbyterian Church, Beloit, WI.

Kathy was employed by the City of Beloit as the Assistant City Manager. She was a board member of the Beloit Family Services. Kathy was a member of the Beloit Country Club and First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, John; one daughter, Amy (Ed) Sabo of Fredericksburg, VA; two grandchildren, Katherine Sabo and Elizabeth Sabo; her mother, Lorraine Reynolds of Waukesha, WI; one sister, Kristine (Christopher) Meier of Hartland, WI; three step sons, Joel (Traci) Patch and Jason (Brandi) Patch both of Beloit, WI, and Jeremy Patch of Madison, WI; brother-in-law, Jim (Theda) Patch of Roscoe, IL; mother-in-law, Opal (Wilbert) Bernhardt of Beloit, WI; her uncle, Leon McCabe of Janesville, WI; four step grandchildren, Madeline, Jakob, Elizabeth and Rachel Patch.

She was predeceased by her father.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2003 in the First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Tom Wanner officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

Memorials may be given in her name to Beloit Family Services.

KAYDE (VALENZANO) RIEKER
It is with great love and sadness that the family announces Kayde M. Valenzano Rieker, 41, of Roscoe, IL, passed away Monday, June 16, 2003 in St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, IL after a valiant battle with breast cancer.

She was born October 4, 1961 in San Francisco, CA, the beloved daughter of Al and Doris Dullum Valenzano. Kayde attended San Rafael High School and graduated with honors in 1980. She went on to attend Nursing school at Fresno State University for one year and then moved back to the San Francisco Bay area to be closer to her parents in Marin. Kayde completed nursing school at San Francisco State University and graduated May of 1984, an honor student with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Upon graduation Kayde joined the United States Army as an officer and served as a registered nurse on a surgical floor at Letterman Hospital at the San Francisco Presidio. She moved to Colorado to attend a Critical Care course. It is there that she met her husband, and they married in June of 1991.

Kayde knew at a very young age that she wanted to be a nurse so that she could help people.
Kayde loved nursing and she pursued critical care nursing in various places including Missouri, Oklahoma, and Washington D.C. In 1994 she worked at Beloit Memorial Hospital in emergency nursing. Illness forced her to leave nursing. She continued to actively raise their two adoring sons. Kayde very much enjoyed the Stateline Newcomer’s, Roscoe PTO and as well as several social circles.

Survivors include her devoted husband of 12 years, John Rieker; two loving sons, Nicholas 8 and Jacob 6; her adoring sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Rick Warner of Petaluma, CA; loving brother, Roger Valenzano of San Rafael, CA; mother-in-law, Shirley Rieker of Toulon, IL; she also leaves a wide circle of thoughtful friends and relatives.

Although Kayde’s time on this earth was brief she said she did everything in life she wanted to do, she only wished she could do more of it. Kayde’s delight in life was her family and friends; she was especially committed to her two boys. She was selfless to everyone who knew her, and an immensely loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her devoted husband .

She was predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003 in Roscoe United Methodist Church, 10816 Main St., Roscoe, IL, with Donna Inman officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. in Osceola Grove Cemetery, Osceola Grove, IL. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to the Beloit Memorial Foundation Children’s play therapy project. Dried arrangements will also be appreciated and will be distributed among friends.

Lana Jean Rothenbuehler, 46, of Beloit, WI, passed away Friday, November 19, 2004 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born November 12, 1958 in Monroe, WI, the daughter of Delbert J. Rothenbuehler and Mary Ellen Huffman DeWitt. Lana was employed at a variety of places in her life including ALCOA, Durst and Woodbridge in Brodhead, WI.
She was a member of Central Christian Church where she and her mother were baptized together.

Lana was a very caring person with a “good heart” who had compassion and sensitivity for the pain and suffering of others as she endured great pain in her own life. Lana took great pride in her accomplishments and her family was very proud of her as well. She recently got her driver’s license on her birthday. Lana was a hard worker and was looking forward to returning to factory work or pursuing school. She was very pleased to be caring for her mother and they were planning Christmas together as both Lana and her mother loved gift giving. Lana loved her family and often remarked about praying for each family member and asking Jesus for forgiveness. Lana was sincerely loved by her family and will be deeply missed. Our lives will be forever changed by her passing.

Survivors include her mother and step father, Mary Ellen (Clarence) DeWitt; one brother, Randall Rothenbuehler of Beloit, WI; sister and best friend, Judy Hoiberg of Beloit, WI; nephew/ little brother, Curtis Hoiberg of Philadelphia; like a daughter, Nicole Bauman; grandchildren, Izaac, Kailey and Makiah; Lana also leaves behind a sister since childhood, Bonnie Baker and special friends Jeff and Roxanne Stowers; adored pets, Blackie, Dickens/Dickers and Mia.

She was predeceased by her father, Delbert (Del) Rothenbuehler , infant brother, Kurt, maternal and paternal grandparents and her maternal aunt.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2004 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Norman Starks officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, WI. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

INGIBJORG T. RAINS, 74, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, August 17, 2003 in Mercy Hospital, Janesville, WI.

She was born October 3, 1928 in Vestmannaeyjum, Iceland, the daughter of Einar Vilhjalmsson and Halldora Sigurdardottir. Ingibjorg married Russell Rains on October 22, 1955 in Rockford, IL.

Ingibjorg was employed by Ingersoll Manufacturing for 17 years, retiring in 1994. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, and reading especially the Bible. Ingibjorg was a member of Rockford Center for Sight and Hearing, Rockford Deaf Senior Citizen Club, and National Fraternal Society of the Deaf. She was also a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for the Deaf in Delavan, WI.

Survivors include her husband, Russell; two sons, Daniel (Colleen) Rains of Janesville, WI and Ronald Rains of Beloit, WI; one sister, Gudbjorg Einarsdottir; one brother, Sigurjon Einarsson both of Iceland; five nieces and nephews; 13 grand nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2003 in the Redeemer Lutheran Church 827 16th Street, Rockford, IL, with the Reverend John R. Reinke officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford, IL. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services Thursday in the church.

A memorial will be established in her name at a later date.

Margie F. Reedy, 91, of Beloit, WI, died Thursday, November 18, 2004 in Sunshine Too, Beloit, WI.

She was born November 3, 1913 in Mineral Point, WI, the daughter of James and Margaret Murray Martin. Margie married William E. Reedy on June 5, 1931 in St. Jude Catholic Church, Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on June 4, 1987.

Margie enjoyed camping with her family, friends and especially her great grandchildren. She had a great spiritual devotion for her rosary. Margie was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Survivors include her children, Patty (Gary) Maxedon, Barbara (Thomas) Carroll, Judy (Howie) Hogan all of Beloit, WI, Betty (Leonard) Long of Decatur, IL and John (Jane) Reedy of Beloit, WI; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; special niece, Sandy Edge; camping friend, Nan Neiland and special friend, Vi Crawford.

Margie will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.

She was predeceased by her parents, infant daughter, Sally, daughter, Debra Reedy Sannes and one sister, Lavone Levine.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2004 in St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Steve Kortendick officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Memories Mausoleum, Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Monday in the church.

Memorials may be given in her name to St. Jude Catholic Church.

DOROTHY F. ROEHL, 95, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, May 25, 2003 in Harmony Manor, Beloit, WI.

She was born June 1, 1907 in White, South Dakota, the daughter of Francis and Mayme Maloney Brayton. Dorothy married Frederick A. Roehl on July 6, 1940 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on December 17, 1994.

Dorothy was employed by Kresge Dime Store, and Bird’s Draperies. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the Marian Guild.

Survivors include her children, James (Karey) Roehl, Thomas (Jackie) Roehl both of Beloit, WI, and Barbara J. (Dennis) Meade of Rockton, IL; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two nephews and three nieces.

She was predeceased by her parents, brother, Daniel Brayton and sister, Marion Crave.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2003 in the St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Steven Kortendick officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family.

Memorials may be given in her name to Beloit Regional Hospice or St. Jude Catholic Church.

BRANDON JACOB ROWE, 20, of Roscoe, IL, beloved son, brother, stepson, grandson, devoted friend, and brave soldier died in combat in the service of his country, on March 31, 2003 in Iraq.

He was born April 14, 1982 in Rockford, Ill., the son of Wendy Borowski and Milton Rowe. Brandon was a 2000 graduate of Hononegah High School. He had worked at DiGiovanni’s Restaurant and Highlander Supermarket in Roscoe while in school. He attended Rock Valley College before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 2001. Brandon was deployed to the Middle East with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) out of Ft. Campbell, KY, on March 3, 2003.

Brandon’s ambition was to attend college after completion of his military service to study computers. He was a Chicago Bears and Kentucky Wildcats fan. He enjoyed playing computer games and listening to music, and especially enjoyed spending time with his “buds.”

Brandon will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He enriched the lives of so many while he was with us, and his death touched the lives of many, many more. His sweet, loving and compassionate nature and sense of humor blessed all who were privileged to know him.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Wendy and Rick Borowski of Roscoe, IL; father, Milton Rowe of Elkhorn City, KY; sister, Leah (Doug Yates) Rowe of Roscoe, IL; brothers, Brent (Burgundy) Rowe of Chicago, IL, and Kevin (Mandy) Rowe of Edwards AFB, CA; maternal grandfather, George Scheidegger of Rockton, IL; paternal grandmother, Tennessee (Rush) Sanders of Elkhorn City, KY; step grandparents, Frank and Jean Borowski of Rockford, IL, special nephews, Devon Scheidegger of Roscoe and Austin Wheat of St. Louis; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends, including Nicol Paige.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Gwen Scheidegger of Rockton and paternal grandfather, Millis Rowe of Kentucky.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2003 in the Hononegah High School Performing Arts Center 307 Salem St. Rockton, IL. The family present from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A memorial service to honor Brandon will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Cordell Cannon officiating. Burial will be in Willwood Burial Park Rockford, IL. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Brandon Rowe Memorial Fund, c/o any Amcore Bank, which will be used to help support the troops stationed at Fort Campbell and their families.
