Dr. Serafin “Terry” B. Teruel, 67, of Beloit, WI, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 19, 1937 in Tigbauan, Iloilo, Philippines, the son of Dr. Serapio Teruel and Raymunda Bayona Teruel. Terry married Mary Kay Zollar on June 12, 1976 in Marshfield, WI.

He graduated from medical school in 1962 at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. Terry had his internship at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago, IL, from 1964 - 1965. His residency in Internal Medicine was at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL, from 1965-1966. Terry’s residency in Pathology was at Madison General Hospital in Madison, WI, from 1966-1970. He was board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology in November 1970 where he joined Pathology Associates with Dr. J. Frank based at Beloit Memorial Hospital. Terry was an elected Fellow by the College of American Pathologists in February 1982. In 1988 he retired from Beloit Memorial Hospital after 18 years.

Terry was a member of the Beloit Tennis Association, American College of Pathology and WI Physicians Association. He enjoyed playing golf, singles and doubles in tennis, playing the Beloit Daily News Puzzle and one of his greatest joys was babysitting for his nephews Max and Ben.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Kay; sisters, Norma Teruel Saladar of Beloit, WI and Nida Bayona of Chicago, IL; nephews, Daryl (Tracy) Saladar of Beloit, WI, Rafael (Rose) Saladar Jr. of Racine, WI; niece, Elma Saladar of Chicago, IL; great nephews, Max, Ben and Kembre Saladar; brothers-in-law, Lee (Sheila) Zollar of Rockford, IL and Richard Zollar of Marshfield, WI.

He was predeceased by his parents, nephew, Jason Saladar and best and closest friend, Dr. Rafael Saladar.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2005 in Rock Valley Chapel, 2780 Shopiere Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Greg James and Pastor LeRoy Carlson officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the church.

A memorial will be established at a later date in his name.

Roger Keith Taylor, 60, President and CEO of North American Tool Corporation, South Beloit, Illinois, died early this morning. Friends and associates remember him as a tremendous community and industry leader.

Taylor, was born on April 11, 1944; graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1962; married to Gail Morgan Leonard for 37 years, daughters Beth-Ann (Charles) Ward and Amy Taylor, and grandchildren Elizabeth and Benjamin Ward. He is also survived by his step mother, Mary Taylor of Boynton Beach, FL and a dear niece, Jayne Oakes of Harpswell, ME. He was honorably discharged from the Massachusetts Air National Guard, where he served as a Crash/Fire/Rescue specialist.

Roger, and his father, K.Y. Taylor founded North American Tool Corporation in April of 1986. Prior to this he held various management positions with Regal-Beloit Corporation from July 1977 to April 1986. Before that, he had worked in hotel and retail businesses.

Roger was extremely active in his community, his church, and the industry he loved and served. In his community he worked often behind the scenes without fanfare contributing his time, talents and enthusiasm. The following is a sampling of the community programs that he was actively associated with: the First Congregational Church in Roscoe, Illinois, the Stateline United Way, serving on the Board of Directors from 1995-2000, also served as Campaign Chair in 1998 and co-chaired the campaign's Key Club division, the Greater Beloit Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Endowment Committee of Beloit Memorial Hospital, the Beloit YMCA, serving on the board for two 3-year terms and served as President from 1996-97, the Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce, served as President of the Chamber Board in 1989, initiating numerous new programs and initiatives, Past Board Member of Blackhawk State Bank, the Stateline Boys and Girls Club, Stewardship Committee of the Beloit Lodge of Elks, the Turtle Creek Breezeway Development Corporation, and Awarded the 1998 Outstanding Fund Raising Volunteer by the National Society of Fund Raising Executives/Rockford Area Chapter.

Roger’s professional life centered around the cutting tool industry and the industrial distributors who were instrumental in the growth of North American Tool Corporation and its subsidiaries.

Roger served in many capacities in the three trade organizations to which he belonged. He served on the Board of Directors of the United States Cutting Tool Institute (USCTI), past president of the American Measuring Tool Manufacturers Association (AMTMA), he was one of two manufacturers that served on the board of the Industrial Distributors Association (IDA), and was very active in the merger of the Industrial Supply Manufacturers Association (ISMA), and the Industrial Distributors Association to the new Industrial Supply Association (ISA).

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2004 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Private family funeral services will be held.

Memorials may be given in his name to the Stateline United Way Endowment Fund, Stateline Family YMCA Pool Fund of Roscoe and the First Congregational Community Church of Roscoe.

Beverly Ann Trevethan, 58, of Beloit, WI, beloved daughter, cousin and friend. The heavens opened for the angels to come and gently wrap their wings around Beverly and take her home on December 18, 2004 at 3:50 p.m.

Beverly was born on June 15, 1946 to John and Emma Marguerite (Bird) Trevethan in Edgerton, WI. She was a loved employee for Kandu Industries in Janesville, WI for 37 years. She also participated in Special Olympics. She loved bowling, bocci ball, swimming, dominoes, cards, arts and crafts, traveling and her friends. Beverly loved and was loved by her family, friends and co-workers. She will be missed by all who knew her, for she touched so many lives.

Survivors include her precious mother, Emma Marguerite; several cousins, friends and special friends, Harry Nimm, Miss Avis, Shannon Klassey and Pam Dodge; her godfather, Carl Anderson; special care takers, Janet (Rodesta) Dee and Debbie Calhoun.

A special thank you to Beloit Memorial Hospital and Beloit Regional Hospice.

She was predeceased by her father, John, many uncles, aunts, grandparents, cousins and her godmother, Vivian Anderson.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2004 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Jim Rowlette officiating. Funeral services will also be held on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cenennary Methodist Church in Shullsburg, WI. Burial will be Thursday in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 until the time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Special Olympics.

Zona F. Torkelson, 87, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, December 1, 2004 in Sun Valley West, Beloit, WI.

She was born December 6, 1916 in Rice Lake, WI, the daughter of A.J. and Mary Jane Teal Clark. Zona married Theodore Torkelson on April 27, 1935 in Belvidere, IL. He predeceased her on July 1, 1985. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Zona loved to play cards and fish.

Survivors include her children, Jerry (Nancy) Torkelson of Beloit, WI and Judy (Allen) Granger of Friendship, WI; daughter-in-law, Kaaren Torkelson; grandchildren, Vickie (John) Bickel, Cindy (Mike) Kellicut, Dawn Hill all of Beloit, WI, Tom (Connie) Torkelson of Orfordville, WI, Neal (Karen) Torkelson of Beloit, WI, Sarah (Russ) Owens of Janesville, WI, Connie (Phil) Bruni of Fort Atkinson, WI and Ross Granger of Beloit, WI; 15 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; two sisters, Freeda Leeder of Beloit, WI and Thelma Withrow of LaCrosse, WI; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, son, David Torkelson, two brothers, Riven and Virgil Clark, one sister, Opal Dvorak.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2004 in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with the Reverend Erik Jelinek officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Saturday in the church.

Memorials may be given in her name to Beloit Regional Hospice.

Frances Tuchlinsky, 87, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, November 20, 2004 in Pioneer Court, Beloit, WI.

A Beloit resident since 1947, she was born August 16, 1917 in Shaker Heights, OH, the daughter of Charles and Alice Friend Kovanda. Frances graduated from Shaker Heights High School, class of 1934. She married William Tuchlinsky on December 25, 1946 in Fort Sheridan, IL. He predeceased her on September 25, 1999.

Frances was employed by J.C. Penney Company Inc., retiring as personnel manager in 1973. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder and Christian education chairman. Frances was a member of the YMCW and YWCA, a Beloit Memorial Hospital volunteer, and served on the swimming pool organizational committee in Madison, WI. She loved to sew, knit, play cards, travel and swim. Frances was a devoted wife and mother; she will be missed by many.

Survivors include her children, William G. Tuchlinsky Jr. of Beloit, WI and Barbara A. Tuchlinsky of Steamboat Springs, CO; sister, Marcia Murphey of Union City, CA; sister-in-law; Jeanne Wells of Mobile, AL; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, sister, Alice McGuire; and sister-in-law, Helen Davis.

Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2004 in the First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Thomas R. Wanner officiating. There will be no visitation. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI 53511 assisted the family with arrangements.

Danny L. Thomas, 52, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, November 10, 2004 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 9, 1952 in Beloit, WI, the son of Dewey and Doris Lanning Thomas. Danny was a 1970 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He married Penny Phillips on August 4, 1979.

Danny was formerly employed by Warner Electric, Fairbanks Morse and Beloit Corporation. He is currently employed by Freedom Graphics Systems in Milton, WI. Danny was a 25 year member of the Beloit Eagles Club Aerie 557. Danny enjoyed helping people, watching the Sci-Fi channel, the news, and the world around him.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Penny; three children, Kevin Thomas, Aaron Thomas and Jenny Thomas all of Beloit, WI; his parents, Dewey and Doris Thomas of Beloit, WI; two brothers, Duane (Bonnie Crabtree) Thomas and David (Sherri Stritof) Thomas both of Beloit, WI; one sister, Debra (Gordon) Wibom of Rockford, IL; father-in-law, Edward Phillips; three brothers-in-law, Randy (Sandy) Phillips of Green Bay, WI, Terry (Jude) Phillips of Beloit, WI and Scotty Phillips of Lodi, WI; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents, two nephews, mother-in-law, Dorothy Phillips and sister-in-law, Barbara Phillips.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2004 in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. James Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday in the church.

Glen W. Thompson, 83, of Beloit, WI, died Thursday, October 28, 2004 in his home.

He was born on December 14, 1920 in Tennessee, the son of John Franklin and Lonie Wright Thompson. Glen was a WWII veteran serving with the Medical Corp stationed in Italy and North Africa in the U.S. Army. He married Iola Redman on May 25, 1947 in Georgia.

Glen farmed his own land in Rock and Winnebago Counties. He was a member of the Local Rockford Carpenters Union, a former 4-H leader and Little League coach. Glen was an avid coon dog field trailer.

Glen’s passion was his family, his work and his dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Iola of Beloit, WI; children, Joanne Thompson of St. Charles, IL, Joyce Thompson of Beloit, WI and John (Betty) Thompson of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Holly Ramsey of New York, Kelly Thompson and Steven Thompson both of Beloit, WI; sister, Robbie Martin of Philadelphia, TN; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, brother, John Thompson, three sisters, Ruby Riddle, Mildred Cavett and Mary Kate Tate.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2004 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Jason E. Turner officiating. Burial will be in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford, IL. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in his name to Beloit Regional Hospice.

June A. Thompson, 73, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, September 4, 2004 in Sun Valley West, Beloit, WI.

She was born on June 10, 1931 in Batavia, IL, the daughter of Herman and Florence McDonald Cook. June was a graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. She married Kenneth J. Thompson on March 23, 1957 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on October 9, 1996.

June was employed by Wisconsin Telephone as an operator, retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Moose Lodge #191 and Faith Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, James (Brenda) Thompson, John (Nancy) Thompson and April (James) Willard; grandchildren, Jacob (Natasha), Noah, Hannah, Emily and Ashley; aunt, Carol Waldman; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, and two sisters, Charlene and Shirley.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2004 in the Faith Baptist Church with the Reverend James Stevens officiating. Private burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. There will be no visitation. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
