Frieda M. Ward, 87, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, November 22, 2004 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born on March 15, 1917 in Monticello, WI, the daughter of Otto and Frieda Ritter Hohl. Frieda married Gilbert P. Ward on February 1, 1935 in Rockford, IL. He predeceased her on March 14, 1961. Frieda was employed by the Wagon Wheel, retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Eagles Club of Beloit, WI.

Survivors include her daughters-in-law, Anna Ward of Fort Wayne, IN and Shirley Ward of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Kelly (Gregory) Gezekieniak of Chicago, IL, Victoria (Craig) Steege of Scotland, Patrick Ward of Rockton, IL and Terry (Kathy) Ward of Beloit, WI; two step grandchildren, Darla Dile of Kentucky and Travis Huyck of Fort Wayne, IN; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Anna Walters of Monroe, WI; brother-in-law, Gerald Detjens of Florida; special friend, Julie Nelson of Beloit, WI.

She was predeceased by her parents, two sons, Gerald Ward and Francis Ward; sister, Elsie Detjens and brother-in-law, Harold Walters.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2004 in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe, WI. There will be no visitation. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Jeffery R. Weatherall, 47, of Beloit, WI, died unexpectedly Saturday, September 18, 2004 as a result of a motorcycle accident.

He was born October 8, 1956 in Beloit, WI, the son of John and June (Martinson) Weatherall. He married Cindy Nimz on October 22, 1983 in Beloit, WI.

Jeffery was employed at Warner Electric Brake and Clutch for 26 years. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Steel Workers Union.

Survivors include his loving wife, Cindy; children, Lindsay A. Weatherall and Cody J.H. Weatherall; his father, John R. Weatherall; mother and step father, June and Stan Owens; step sister, Nancy Owens of Roanoke, TX; mother- in- law, Betty Nimz; brothers- in- law, Larry and Gary Nimz; aunt, Myrtle Frisbee; cousins, Bill (Linda) Frisbee, Joel (Jean) Frisbee, Sandra King and their families, Myrtle (Joe) Nunn, and Chris Troy, dear friends, Rocky and Dianna Schliefer, John and Nancy Thompson and many more very close and special friends.

Jeffery was a loving husband, son, father and friend and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2004 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with the Pastor Erik Jelinek officiating. Burial will be held at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI 53511.

Birdie K. Wright, 98, of Janesville, WI and formerly of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, August 4, 2004 in Cedar Crest Health Care Center, Janesville, WI.

She was born on March 13, 1906 in Rhinelander, WI, the daughter of Charles and Josephine Colley-Novak Albright. Birdie was employed by Freeman Shoes and the Grand Café until her retirement.

Survivors include her son, James (Sharon) Grieves of Beloit, WI; daughter, Elaine (John) Lucas of Beloit, WI; seven grandchildren, Chris (Ron) Throndsen of Indiana polis, IN, Randall (Shirley) Loomis of Beloit, WI, Karen (Dave) Thibeau of Seattle, WA, Vicki Rippie of Lacy, WA, Lori (Bob) McKibben of Peoria, AZ, Shelly (Eric) Kliefoth of Edgerton, WI and DeDe (Matt) Nelson of Janesville, WI; four great grandchildren, Jeremy and Tyler Loomis, Matthew Nelson and Collin McKibben; special step son, Donald (Bernice) Grieves of Wisconsin Dells, WI.

She was predeceased by her son, George Rippie, parents and two brothers, Elmer Albright and Gerald Albright.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2004 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. James Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. There will be no visitation.

Gloria E. Waelti, 74, of Beloit, WI died Saturday, July 24, 2004 at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born on April 25, 1930 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Charles and Agnes McGonigal Beck. Gloria was a 1947 graduate of Monroe, WI High School and a graduate of Rockford Business College. She married Virgil J. Waelti on September 16, 1950 in Juda, WI. He predeceased her on August 13, 1987.

Gloria worked at Waelti Bookkeeping for 25 years. She was a member of the, Women’s Chamber of Commerce as a Diplomat where she received the award of, “ Diplomat of the Year in 1987”, member of the Beloit Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Beloit Mother of Twins Club, and the WI Organization of Mothers of Twins. Gloria enjoyed the time she spent with her card club friends for 50 plus years.

Survivors include her children, Shari (Ross) Christopher of Beloit, WI, Lori (Jeffrey) Oliver of Aurora, OH, Steven Waelti of Beloit, WI, Traci (Kevin) Gleasman of Beloit, WI, Tammy (Ralph) Heine of Beloit, WI, Timothy (Jeni) Waelti of Beloit, WI; her grandchildren, Erin, Lindsey and Brett Christopher of Beloit, WI, Andrea Oliver of Aurora, OH, Steven Jon (Tammy) Waelti II of Beloit, WI, Ashli and Kristi Gleasman of Beloit, WI, Andrew Folts of Beloit, WI, Nick and Melissa Heine of Fort Wayne, IN, Jax and Raven Waelti of Beloit, WI, two great granddaughters, Jada Perkins and Melanie Waelti, brother, Charles “Jack” (Hilda) Beck, sister-in-law, Lorraine Beck, brother-in-law, Gerald (Kay ) Waelti, and special friend, Robert Pederson.

She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Ralph and Frank Beck.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jim Roulette officiating. Burial will be held at East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, in the Daley Murphy Wisch Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

Grandma GiGi was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Francis Melvin Witkins, 83, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born October 4, 1920 in Butternut, WI, the son of William and Veronica Rodzwilowish Woitkunski. Francis attended the Whitewater State Teachers College and DePaul University. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a B-25 flight instructor. Francis married Lorraine R. Tomaszewski on July 1, 1944 in Columbus, GA.

He worked for the Allstate Insurance Company as an Agent for over 25 years retiring in 1984. Francis was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Thomas Council #605, and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 2306 of Beloit, WI. He was very active in the St. Vincent De Paul Society, and an avid golfer and bowler in many leagues.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; sons, Kenneth (Maria C.) Witkins of Glenville, NY; and Norm (Romelle) Witkins of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Carla Witkins of Washington, D.C.; Ray Witkins of Orlando, FL; Nate Witkins of Rochester, MN; Andrew Witkins of Madison, WI and Ben Witkins of Beloit, WI; numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, four brothers and two sisters predeceased him.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Jim Kuhn officiating and Reverend Dr. Floyd Prude co-officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until the time of services Friday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to St. Vincent De Paul Society.

John E. Weaver, 69, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, May 28, 2004 in his home.

He was born November 4, 1934 in Harrison, Arkansas, the son of William Charles and Martha Tedford Weaver. John graduated from Beloit High School in 1953. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict serving with the Strategic Air Command. John married G. Bettina Myers on August 1, 1959 in Dubuque, Iowa. He was employed by Barber Coleman – Metal Cutting Tools Inc. as a supervisor until his retirement in 1997.

Survivors include his loving wife, G. Bettina; his children, Steven (Cindi) Weaver, Jill Weaver Hernandez, and Shawn (Rebecca) Weaver all of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Eddie Hernandez, Adam (Stefanie Sors) Hernandez, Amanda Weaver, Amber Weaver, Justin Weaver, RheAnna Weaver, all of Beloit, WI; great grandchildren, Mercedes Hernandez, Maddison Hernandez, and Adam John Hernandez, sisters, Maxine (Victor) Gipson of Harrison, AR, Pauline Rawson of Beloit, WI, Viola LaRosa of Beloit, WI, Ova Tews of Beloit, WI, Clara (Carl) Dunning of Machesney Park, IL; sister-in-law, Dorothy Weaver of Beloit, WI; brothers-in-law, Dell Draves of Beloit, WI, and Clayton Weber of Brodhead, WI; many nieces and nephews all of which are unique and special to John.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, T.C. Weaver, Reno Weaver, and Buster Weaver; sisters, Opal Elliott Weber and Hazel Draves, brothers-in-law, Jack Rawson, Bennie LaRosa, Ray Elliott and Kenneth Tews.

John loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed being at the cabin overlooking the Mississippi River at Wyalusing and going fishing with his friends and family.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI with Pastor Norman Starks officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in his name to the Beloit Regional Hospice.

Susan Jane Wrzosek, 85, of Beloit, WI, died Thursday, April 29, 2004 at Encore Senior Villa in Clinton, WI.

She was born August 16, 1918 in Marquette, Michigan, the daughter of A.E. and Roberta Pollock Powell. She was a 1935 graduate of Eau Claire Senior High School, 1940 graduate of Eau Claire State Teachers College, 1947 graduate of the School of Chicago Art Institute and a 1948 graduate of the University of Wisconsin. Susan was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. She married Robert Wrzosek on October 7, 1950 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on January 10, 1984.

Susan formerly taught in the Beloit School District. She was a former Girl Scout Leader; organized adult art groups and was involved with the Humane Society. Susan was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist.

Survivors include a nephew, Daniel (Laurie) Powell of Minneapolis, MN, and his children, Stephan and Laura; a niece, Mary (Raymond) Bonnabeau of St. Paul, MN, and her children, Mary, Margaret, Raymond and Christopher; sister-in-law, Bertha Toltzman and brother-in-law, James (Linda) Wrzosek of Scottsdale, AZ, and their children, Ann (Steven) Manor, Joseph (Diane) Wrzosek, Elizabeth (Steven) Messer, and David (Stephanie) Wrzosek; cousin, Bonnie Anderson of Rockford, IL; and a special friend, Joan Waite.

She was predeceased by her parents, brother, and a niece, Mary Toltzman.

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Gerald Cox officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery in Stanley, WI. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. until the time of services Sunday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to the Rock County Humane Society.

Thomas W. Walsh, 53, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, April 24, 2004 in his home.

He was born September 2, 1950 in Beloit, WI, the son of Thomas E. and Audrey B. Hahn Walsh. Tom was a 1969 graduate of Beloit Catholic High School and attended the Illinois Police Academy in Springfield, IL.

Tom was employed by Bryden Motors, Roscoe Village Police Department and the Winnebago Police Department. He was employed by Lear Seating in Janesville, WI for the past 10 years. Tom enjoyed owning and restoring Mopars and would be found tinkering with his cars daily in his garage. He attended Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church and St. Thomas Catholic Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Angela Walsh of Roscoe, IL; his mother, Audrey Walsh of Beloit, WI; sister, Terri (Larry) Scholz of Beloit, WI; special niece, Kerri (Brian) Fei of Chicago, IL; one uncle, Cal Hahn of Stoughton, WI; two aunts, Florence (James) Gjere of Beloit, WI and Carol Hahn of Houston, MN; numerous cousins.

Thomas was a loving father, son, brother and uncle and will be sadly missed by his family.

He was predeceased by his father, grandparents, special uncle, Wally Hahn, and uncles, James, Robert and Donald Walsh.

Prayer services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church, with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with a Scripture Service at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Shriner’s Hospital for crippled children.
