Margaret Porazinski, 92
Margaret Porazinski, nee Schott, of West Bend, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at the Samaritan Health Center, at the age of 92.
She was born March 20, 1907, in Viereth, Germany, to the late Andreas and Margareta (nee Wohlleber) Schott, and married Dominic "Tom" Porazinski on July 13, 1936, in Milwaukee. He passed away on May 29, 1958.
Margaret came to America in 1927 and became a U.S. citizen in 1935.
She worked as a domestic and cook at the Wisconsin Club and later worked at St. Mary's Convent. She was a housekeeper and cook for the priests at Francis Jordan High School in Milwaukee until 1970, and in 1973 moved to West Bend.
Margaret was a member of the Christian Woman's Confraternity of Holy Angels Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Margaret (Richard) Geldreich of Kewaskum; four grandchildren, James (Anne) of Jackson, Lynn (Neal) Gierach of Germantown, Michael (Susanne) of West Bend and Kevin of Allenton; two great-grandchildren, Sarah Margaret Gierach and Zachary Gierach; a sister, Battete Boellner of Germany; a special niece, Katherine Guell of Milwaukee; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friend.s
Preceding her in death were a sister, Margarete Dorn, and three brothers, Michael, Gelorg and Hans.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 7 p.m. at Holy Angels Church, West Bend. Fr. Jerry Repenshek will be the presider, and burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee.
Visitation at the church only will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials may be made to the Samaritan Health Center.
The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.

Laura E. Gutjahr, 86
Laura E. Gutjahr, nee Bohn, 86, of Hartford, passed away Monday, Dec.27, 1999.
She was born in Hilsburg, on Feb. 11, 1910, to the late Karl and Olga Bohn, and married Henry Gutjahr on Nov. 24, 1939, at Peace Lutheran Church, Hartford.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Charles (Marion) Steffen of Fayatteville, N.C. and Larry (Sandi) Gutjahr of Sussex; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren a brother, Armand; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a brother, two sisters and a son.
Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Hartford. Rev. Jon Tesch will officiate, and interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Visitation at the Berndt Funeral Home, Hartford, will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., and Friday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials to Peace Lutheran Church are appreciated.

Erna Schacht
Erna Schacht, 95, nee Roll, of Kewaskum, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at her residence, at the age of 95.
She was born May 9, 1904, in Jackson, to the late Adolph and Ida (nee Faber) Roll, and married Earl Schacht on April 20, 1926, in West Bend.
The couple lived on the family farm in Orchard Grove in the town of Farmington. Earl passed away in 1932.
After her marriage to Harold E. Schacht on Dec. 18, 1934, in Freeport, Ill., they continued to live on the family farm until Harold passed away July 3, 1973.
Erna continued to live at the Orchard Grove farm until 1989 when she resided with her daughter in Boltonville.
Survivors include five children, Bernice (Robert) Bindrich of Boltonville, Vernon (Marion) Schacht of the town of Farmington, Shirley (Armand) Becker of West Bend, Lloyd (Ruby) Schacht of Waldo and Lyle (Marlene) Schacht of Rubicon; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a sister, Vera Ahlers-Yahr in 1984 and a grandson, Daniel Becker in 1981.
She was a member of United Church of Christ, West Bend, and had an immense passion for gardening.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, West Bend. Pastor Sharon Stier will officiate and interment will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
Cake and coffee will follow the service in the banquet hall at the funeral home.

Rev. Robert G. Jordan
Rev. Robert G. Jordan of Hartford passed away Saturday, Nov. 13 at Hartford Memorial Hospital. He was 75 years old.
He was born April 11, 1924 in Union County, Ohio to John and Emma, nee Kleiber, Jordan, and married Verna Pflug on June 26, 1949 at Apostles Lutheran Church in Melrose Park, Ill.
Pastor Jordan served in the Milwaukee area from 1956 to 1978, last serving as the executive director of the Lutheran Children’s Friend Society. He retired from Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Petersburg, Ill. after serving from 1978 to 1989, and moved to Hartford, where he helped part-time at Divine Savior Lutheran Church. He was also known for his Easter devotionals presented on WTKM.
He is survived by his wife Verna; three sons, Rev. Robert W. (Linda) of Weston, Timothy (Kay) of Brown Deer and Raymond (Debra) of Petersburg, Ill; a daughter, Jean Ann Jordan of Cedarburg; 10 grandchildren; a brother Edwin (Ilene) of Springfield, Ohio; a sister Margaret Castle of Columbus, Ohio; a sister-in-law Rosella Jordan of Millford County, Ohio; further survived by other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond and John; and brother-in-law, Darrell Castle.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. at Divine Savior Lutheran Church, Hartford, with Rev. Thomas Feiertag officiating. Visitation was at the church only on Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. Interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Memorials to Student Aide; Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind. or Divine Savior Building Fund. Shimon Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Walter Theusch, 90
Walter Theusch, 90, of the town of Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999, at Cedar Lake Health Care Center, West Bend.
He was born on Aug. 20, 1908, in the town of Kewaskum, to the late Joseph and Anna (Pesch) Theusch, and on Sept. 8, 1931, married Regina Wiesner at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum. She passed away on Feb. 22, 1990.
Mr. Theusch farmed all his life and was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, town of Wayne.
Survivors include four sons, Richard (Carol) and Francis (Caroline), both of Campbellsport, Donald (Diane) of Mt. Calvary and James of Houston, Texas; six daughters, Carol (Roger) Jacak of Campbellsport, Lorraine (Ervin) Beine of Hartford, Rosemary (Robert) Guth of West Bend, Elaine (Dennis) Wieberdink of Henderson, Nev., Darlene Walls and Marilyn Theusch, both of Kewaskum; two sisters, Clara Wiesner and Marian Rettler, both of Fond du Lac; 27 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were two sons, Walter Jr. and Robert; a brother, Edward; a sister, Helen Volm; and a grandson, Kyle Theusch.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5. Father Mark Jones will officiate, and private burial rites will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Church Cemetery.
Visitation at the church only will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials in Walter's memory may be given to Holy Trinity Build a Path to Christ Fund.
The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is serving the family.

Harry W. Arndt, 92
Harry W. Arndt, 92, of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, West Bend, on Saturday, July 31, 1999.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife and dear friend of 59 years, Caroline (nee Olsen); beloved daddy of Muriel Nieskes of West Bend, Susan (Les) Laubusch of Milwaukee and Margaret (Don) Treloar of Odgensburg; dear brother of Kenneth Arndt of Milwaukee; dear brother-in-law of Beth Arndt of Horicon and Ruby Arndt of Hartford. Also loved by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Harry retired after 38 years of dedicated service with Schlitz Brewing Co.
He was the past president of the Steamfitters Local 601 and a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Milwaukee.
Visitation at the Krause Funeral Home, 9000 W. Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, will be Thursday, Aug. 5 from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. with funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Entombment will follow in Wisconsin Memorial Park.

John A. McDonald
John A. McDonald, 87, of Washington state, died Saturday, July 31, 1999.
He was the dear husband of the late Frances McDonald; dear father of Ann E. McDonald and Robert L. McDonald; dear brother of Margaret (Rudolph) Stern and Dorothy Degner; dear uncle and friend.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 9, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Alzheimers Association, 9374 Olive Blvd., St. Louis, Mo. 63132.
The Kriegshauser West Mortuary, St. Louis, is assisting the family.

Anna T. Loew, 93
Anna T. Loew (nee Henke) of the town of Richfield died Thursday, Aug. 5, at the Hartford Care Center at the age of 93.
She was born Sept. 15, 1905, to William and Mary Henke (nee Kohler) in Hartford. She attended school in Slinger and St. Augustine before moving to Richfield. She lived her entire life in Washington County.
She married Emanuel G. Loew on Nov. 9, 1923 in Waukegan, Ill. She and her husband owned and operated Lou’s Tavern in Plat for more than 40 years. She was known for her chicken and fish frys.
She was a member of St. Columbia’s Catholic Church of Lake Five, and a former member of the Washington County Tavern League of Lake Five and the Hubertus Senior citizens.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband on June 9, 1975, two brothers, Emil and William, and a sister, Esther Konrath.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Loew (dear friend George Fraley) of Colgate, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Columba’s Catholic Church in Lake Five. Father Chuck T. Hanel will preside. Interment will be at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cemetery, Erin, Monday following the mass.
Visitation will be at the Phillip Funeral Home of Slinger from 3-7 p.m. Sunday and at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass Monday. A prayer vigil will be Sunday at the home at 7 p.m.
The Phillip Funeral Home is assisting the family (644-5296).
