Beverly Skalstad
Beverly Skalstad (nee Redlin) of Rubicon died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999 at home. She was 72 years old.
She was born April 4, 1927 in Rubicon to Edgar and Verona (nee Lepien) Redlin, and married Erwin Skalstad on Aug. 24, 1946 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford.
She worked as an assembler for West Bend Co. Beverly was a member of the Missions Society at Peace Lutheran Church, Hartford Senior Friends and the TOPS Club. She enjoyed ceramic work, quilting and crafts.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Erwin; four sons, Leroy of Milwaukee, Dennis of Hartford, Donald of Oshkosh and Steve (Susie and daughters Jenny and Carli) of Hartford; daughter, daughter Darlene (Keith) Vredeveld of Hartford; five grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Zwieg, Krista (Tom) Frey, Laura (Dan) Ertmann, David and Jonathan Skalstad; three great grandchildren, Erika, Kaylie and Quinten. Beverly is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Jon Tesch officiating. The family greeted relatives and friends at the Shimon Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment was a Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society for leukemia research or Peace Lutheran Church.
The family is served by Shimon Funeral Home.

Robert A. Taylor, 60
Robert A. Taylor of West Bend died Friday, Aug. 20, 1999 at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital of West Bend at the age of 60.
He was born June 15, 1939 to Carl and Mary "Marie" (nee Jansen) Taylor. He attended St. Mary’s grade school in Barton before attending West Bend High School.
Following high school he served with the U.S. Navy. After his discharge he was employed at Mercury Marine for 15 years and worked several other jobs. At the time of his death he was an electrician.
He enjoyed his cabin up north and also loved hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his parents Carl and Marie; five brothers and sisters, Ruth (Larry) Zingsheim of Kewaskum, Carl J. (Beverly) of West Bend, Maryann (Ben) Kappler of Hudson, Carol (Perry) Swensen of North Fond du Lac and Alec (Karen) of Kewaskum; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Gerald.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 23, at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Cemetery (new).
Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of the services.

Elaine M. Zier, 83
Elaine M. Zier, nee Tews, of West Bend, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, at the age of 83.
She was born Oct. 12, 1915, in Oak Grove, Dodge County, to the late William and Nora (nee Koska) Tews, and married William Zier on Nov. 10, 1940, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Oak Grove.
They moved to Watertown for a short time before settling in West Bend in 1942.
She was formerly employed at the West Bend Co., retiring in November, 1977.
Elaine was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, West Bend.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Robert (Frances) of West Bend and Donald (Cheri) of Cedarburg; seven grandchildren, Frank Alliet of West Bend, Peggy (Neil) Marquardt of West Bend, Donna Alliet of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Sherry Koenig of Paddock Lake, Linda Tomack of Appleton, Chris (Allen) Bonebrek of Sheboygan and Jeffrey (Shelly) Zier of Springboro, Ohio; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence (Lydia) Tews of Watertown; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Rev. Cleone Wiegand will officiate, and burial will be held Wednesday in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday at the church only from 5 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorials to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church are appreciated.

Hugo ‘Pat’ Schwulst, 90
Hugo "Pat" Schwulst, 90, of the town of Erin, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, West Bend.
He was born May 15, 1909, in Milwaukee, to the late Frank and Pauline (nee Koepke) Schwulst, and married Alice Weber on Feb. 22, 1938, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pewaukee.
Pat was the town chairman in Erin for 23 years, serving from 1959-'81. He was also on the county board of supervisors from 1959-'83 and on the school board for the Shamrock School for many years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Frank (Linda) of Manhattan, Kan.; a daughter, Paula (Jerry) Coffey of Erin; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Lillian (Frank) Schwulst of Fond du Lac, Frances (Ray) Egan of Menomonee Falls and Ann (Frank) Wiedmeyer of Richfield; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were a son, Tom; two brothers; a sister; and a grandson, Matt Schwulst.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford. Rev. David Beckstrom will officiate, and interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Monches.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 to 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of one's choice are appreciated.

Robert A. Geske, 75
Robert A. Geske, 75, of West Bend, died Friday, Aug. 20, 1999, at his residence.
He was born May 26, 1924, in Milwaukee, to the late James Frank and Lillian Ann (nee Fenner) Geske, and married Rita E. Fronczek on June 24, 1950, at St. Robert Church, Shorewood.
Bob graduated from Thomas Moore High School in 1942 after which he served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.
Following his discharge he attended and graduated from Marquette University College of Business Administration.
He was employed as a sales manager in the paper products division of 3M Company until retiring in 1986.
Bob lived for 12 years in Glenside, Pa., where he was a lector at St.Luke's Church. He enjoyed getting together with friends from 3M.
Bob was a member of the West Bend Noon Kiwanis Club, vice president of the Washington County Council of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and was also active with the West Bend YMCA. He was also a member of the Fr. Casper Rehrl Council 1964 Knights of Columbus and the Glenside, Pa. Council of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife; five children, Carol Ann Geske of Windmoor, Pa., Gregory (Roberta) of Blue Bell, Pa., Robert of Harleysville, Pa., Joan (Leonard) Pachuta of Waverly, N.Y. and Michaelene (William) Kutz of West Bend; grandchildren Michael, Timothy and Adam Kutz and Larisa Pachuta; step-grandchildren, Bradley, Stephanie and Kevin Kutz and Gary Goldstein; two sisters, Lorraine (Jack) Holloway of Hartland and LaVerne (Robert) Sadowski of Franklin; two sisters-in-law, Alyce Geske of Mequon and Mary Louise (Roy) Packler of West Bend; two aunts, Ann Jahn of Greenfield and Viola Burke of Grove City, Ohio; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Richard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. at Holy Angels Church, West Bend. Fr. Jerry Repenshek will be the presider, and burial will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Angels Cemetery.
Visitation at the church only will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.

Elma Erlandson, 92
Elma Erlandson, nee, Kulju, 92, of Green Bay, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999.
She was born July 7, 1907, in Coburntown, Mich., to the late William and Ida (nee Saari) Sulju, and married Howard Erlandson on Feb. 14, 1937.
Mrs. Erlandson attended Northern Michigan Teachers College in Marquette, Mich., and worked as a K-8 school teacher in Michigan's Upper Peninsula
She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society at Redeemer Lutheran Church and a volunteer at Bethesda Thrift Store.
Elma was absolutely dedicated to her family.
Survivors include three sons, David (Patricia) of Green Bay, Robert (Charlene) of Stuart, Fla. and Howard (Cynthia) of Green bay; a daughter Faith Westby of West Bend; six grandchildren, Wendy (Jeffrey) Sauer of Hubertus, Sara (Michael) Fleischman of Oconomowoc, Sandra Westby of West Bend; Susan Westby of Germantown; Carrie Erlandson and Julie Erlandson, both of Orlando, Fla. a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Fleischman of Oconomowoc; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband; a son-in-law, Dale Westby; a granddaughter, Cynthia Kay Erlandson; an infant daughter, Judith.
Visitation at the Lyndahl Funeral Home, Green Bay, will be Monday Aug. 23, from 4:30 until the funeral services at 6 p.m. Rev. Michael Baucom will officiate, and burial will be in the Fort Howard Cemetery, Green Bay.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home.

Myrtle E. Heschke, 86
Myrtle E. Heschke, 86, formerly of Cedarburg, died on Nov. 27, 1999 in Olean, N.Y. Burial will be in Wisconsin at the family’s convenience.
Mrs. Heschke was born June 19, 1913 in Baudette, Minn., daughter of Edward and Julia Peterson.
She married Robert T. Kuyken, who died in 1951.
She later married Elroy Heschke who died in 1991.
Survivors include: sons John (Donna) Heschke of Olean, N.Y., James (Leslie) Kuyken of Chicago, Ill.; daughter Janice Peterson (Pastor Zan White) of Brooklyn, N.Y.; sisters Irene Williams of Milwaukee, Esther (Walter) Blair of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother Milton (Vi) Peterson of Virginia, Minn.; five grandchildren.
Further survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Walter Peterson and sister Mabel Dean.
Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
