Donna Mae Zima, 64
Donna Mae Zima, nee Kappelmann, 64, of Kewaskum, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 2, 1935, in Manitowoc, to the late Louis and Martha (Sehloff) Kappelmann, and on Sept. 15, 1955, married Richard A. Zima at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.
She was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum, a former member of the Lakeshore Lutheran Chorale and was past president of the Ladies Guild of Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
Donna was employed by Manitowoc Health Care center for many years until 1988 and had made her home in Kewaskum for the past 10 years.
Her grandchildren were the love of her life.
Survivors include a son, Richard (Patti) of Kewaskum; a daughter, Cheryl Zima of Neenah; her former husband, Richard of West Bend; two sisters, Susan Dick of Manitowoc and Marie (Rev. Martin) Janke of Slinger; nine grandchildren, Donna Reinhart of Neenah, Melissa (Kevin) Polakowski of Appleton, Rebecca, Anna and Brandon Zima of Neenah, Joshua, Jeremy, Katelyn and Kelli Jo Zima of Kewaskum; other relatives and friends.
A brother, Robert, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2., at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kewaskum. Rev. Timothy Henning will officiate, and cremation will follow.
Visitation at the church only will be Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials may be given to Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School or Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is serving the family.

Eugene Lynch
Eugene Lynch, 73, of Sun City Center, Fla., formerly of Duluth, Minn., died Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, in Sun City Center, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinsons Disease.
Gene was born Sept. 5, 1926, near Hartford, to the late Charles and Lillian (Powell) Lynch.
He graduated from high school at the age of 17, then entered the U.S. Navy and was decorated for his service in World War II. As a boxer Gene compiled a 23-2 record.
He graduated from college in 1951 and earned advanced degrees from the University of Wisconsin.
As a life-long educator, Gene was a classroom teacher, football and basketball coach, elementary principal and curriculum coordinator for 17 years in West Bend.
He spent two years as an associate professor of education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
In 1969 he accepted the assistant superintendency for curriculum in Duluth where he remained until retiring in 1982.
For several years following his retirement, Gene served as court mediator, often traveling to other states to mediate cases.
Gene will always be remembered for his passion for education, his sense of humor and his ability to conciliate. He was a loving and generous husband and father.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, JoAnn; five children, Tim (Tracy) of Marietta, Okla., Nancy (Steve) Smolich of Biwabik, Minn., David (Gail) of Dublin, Ohio, Andy (Maria) of Tampa, Fla., and Mary (Ciaran) Mannion of Athlone, Ireland; a brother, Robert of West Bend; two sisters, Dorothy Zurn and Irene Donahue, both of Milwaukee; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were three brothers, Ray, Gerry and Joe.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 9 in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, 2801 E. Fourth St., Duluth.
Memorials may be directed to Parkinsons research.
The Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, is assisting the family.

Harry Heider, 91
Harry Heider, 91, of Kewaskum, passed away on Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, at ManorCare Health Services, Fond du Lac.
He was born May 25, 1908, in the town of Auburn, to the late Fred and Emma (Ebert) Heider, and on Oct. 17, 1964, married Lucille Bergin at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kewaskum. She passed away March 7, 1999.
Mr. Heider served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church Kewaskum.
Survivors include three sons, Jerome (Mary) and Harold (Elizabeth), both of Fond du Lac and Robert (Marcie) of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Herbert (Sally) of Beechwood; a sister, Lorena Ramel of Kewaskum; six stepsons, Robert (Jean) Bergin of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Roger (Carol) Bergin and Ronald Bergin, both of Plymouth, Ralph Bergin of Sheboygan, Reuben Bergin of St. Hilaire, Minn. and Ricky Bergin of Minot, N.D.; two stepdaughters, Roseann (Roger) Spradau of Summerfield, Fla. and Rita (Paul) Keranen of Haysville, Kan.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 7 p.m. at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kewaskum. Rev. Edwin Fredrich will officiate, and burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Lutheran Memorial Park, Kewaskum.
Visitation at the church only will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials to St. Lucas Lutheran Church Redecorating Fund are appreciated.

Ione Honeck, 80
Ione Honeck, nee Petri, of Kewaskum, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at Mapledale Manor, Kewaskum, at the age of 80.
She was born March 18, 1919, in the town of Wayne, to the late Wendel and Sophia (nee Amerling) Petri, and on Nov. 15, 1947, married Leander Honeck at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum.
Her husband passed away on March 24, 1978.
Mrs. Honeck was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum, the Holy Trinity Christian Women and Our Lady Rosary Makers.
Survivors include two brothers, Earl (Martha) and Bruce (Eileen), both of Kewaskum; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a sister, Doris Kluever, and two brothers, Myron and John.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum. Father Mark Jones will officiate, and burial in the parish cemetery will be at 10 a.m. on Friday.
Friends may call at the church only on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Treatment and Research Center.

Evelyn I. Gronemeyer, 81
Evelyn I. Gronemeyer, nee Weckmueller, of West Bend, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee, at the age of 81.
She was born March 1, 1918, in the town of Jackson to the late Alfred and Adela (nee Rothenmaier) Weckmueller, and married Clifford Gronemeyer on June 20, 1942, at the former Friedens United Church of Christ, town of Jackson.
Evelyn was an elementary school teacher at several country schools in Washington County, and also substituted at several Milwaukee schools.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Slinger, and served as treasurer of the Women’s Guild. She also worked as a volunteer at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.
She was the loving mother of Jeanne (David) Mantsch of Mequon, Steven (Tawn) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Joyce (Dana) Cable of Milwaukee; dear grandmother of Matt and Tim Mantsch, Cari and Lauren Gronemeyer, Chris and Nic Cable; dear step-grandmother of Travis Mantsch. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 1 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Rev. John Tschudy of St. John’s UCC, Slinger, and Rev. Walt Olsen will co-officiate. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memorial Park, Milwaukee.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials may be given to the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, West Bend Community Library or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Marcella L. Schultz, 92
Marcella L. Schultz, nee Senn, 92, of Campbellsport, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at All About Life Rehabilitation Center, Fond du Lac.
She was born in Campbellsport on July 22, 1907, to the late Peter and Amelia (Dins) Senn, and married Elton G. Schultz on May 10, 1930, in Campbellsport. He passed away on Jan. 21, 1998.
The couple farmed together in the town of Auburn.
Survivors include a sister, Viola (Robert) Bowman of Milwaukee; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a brother and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 22 at 11 a.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport. Rev. Stevens Hilyard will officiate, and entombment will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Hilerius G. "Larry" Wiedmeyer
Hilerius G. "Larry" Wiedmeyer, 85, of West Bend, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at the Sheboygan Progressive Care Center.
He was born April 20, 1914, in the town of West Bend, to the late Pius and Mary (nee Birzer) Wiedmeyer, and married Evelyn Buth on Nov. 24, 1937, in West Bend.
He worked at West Bend Concrete Products (Bend Industries).
Larry was an avid bowler, loved fishing and enjoyed walking eight plus miles every day that he could.
Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Rosa Bies and Genevieve (Lawrence) Baier, both of West Bend; a brother, Harvey (Annie) of West Bend; five children, Shirley (Robert) Heald, William (Sue), Marilyn (Roger) Larson, Pat (Ken) Sella and Duane (Wendy); 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews;other relatives and friends.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge of West Bend and the Holy Name Society of Holy Angels Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 8, at 8 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend. Rev. Mark Larson will officiate, and burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday from 6 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials are appreciated.
