Doris Maria Hay, 98, of Lakewood, died June 9, 2000 at the Anna John Nursing Home, Oneida, WI. Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 21, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Fort Howard Cemetery Chapel, Green Bay. Suminski Funeral Home, Wabeno assisted the family with arrangements.

Evelyn Edna Demmith
Evelyn Edna Demmith, 82, of Pound, died Monday July 10, 2000 at Unity Hospice at Whispering Oaks Center in Peshtigo. The daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Lusnia was born February 25, 1918 in Lena. She was married to Alfred Demmith on February 9, 1937 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spruce. Evelyn was a member of Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman. Surviving are four sons, Alfred Rose, Green Bay; David Nancy, Pound; James Mary, Pound; and Russell Michele, Coleman; four daughters, Donna Claude Rowley, Fort Myers, FL; Karen Robert Payette, Coleman; Lynn Elroy Miller, Marinette; and Judy Deback, Crivitz; two daughters-in-law, Arlene Demmith and Carol Burzlaff of Marinette; 31 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Verna Ben Wiora, Indiana and Adelle Janda, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; parents, Joseph and Anna Lusnia; three sons, DuWayne, Roger and Jeffery; son-in-law, Henry Deback; one daughter, LaVerne; two granddaughters; one great-grandson. Friends called at Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman from 4 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2000 until the time of services. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the church with Rev. John Hephner officiating. Interment in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Coleman. A memorial fund has been established in her memory. 'We love you Mom and Grandma and we'll miss you. XXX000'

Ethel C. Rhode
Ethel C. Rhode, 95, of 101 First St., Oconto, died Wednesday July 12, 2000 at Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center, Oconto. Ethel was born August 20, 1904 in Aurora, Illinois to the late Albert and Clara McClure Beyer. Ethel married Walter Rhode Aopril 3, 1921. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1986. Ethel worked at Wisconsin Dried Egg and Sylvester's Florist. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Ethel is survived by one daughter, Mary Augustine, Oconto; 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children, Clarence Rhode and Mildred Hodges; two brother, Henry and Charles Beyer; and two sisters, Mary Avery and Allma Pedersen. The family received relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday July 14, 2000. Funeral services were conducted Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gene Crooks officiating and burial at Evergreen Cemetery.

Gladys E. Rasmussen
Gladys E. Rasmussen, 85, resident of Woodland Village, Suring died Tuesday, July 11, 2000 following a lengthy illness. Gladys was born in Mountain September 13, 1914 to the late Thomas and Tillie Olson Rasmussen. She attended the University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point and graduated as an educator. Gladys taught school for many years while living in Mountain. She had been very active as a Girl Scout Leader. For many years Gladys served as the Church Organist for Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain where she also was a Sunday School Teacher. Gladys was a member at Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain. Survivors include her two sisters, Pearl Charlson, of New Longon, and Enid Greg Moore, of S. Milwaukee. Also other relatives and friends. Visitation was held at Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain Saturday, July 15, 2000 from 10:30 a.m. until time of services. Funeral service was held 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Paul Schuenemann officiating. Burial in Mountain Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established at Tabor Lutheran Church.

Marian Bernice Tappa
Marian Bernice Tappa, 75, 101 First St., Oconto, died Wednesday July 12, 2000 at Riverside Health & Rehabilitation, Oconto. Marian was born October 22, 1924 in Oconto to the late Alphonse and Ida Bush VanVooran. She married Bernard Tappa. He preceded her in death in 1975. Marian worked at Bond Pickle and was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Oconto. Marian is survived by one brother, Dean VanVooran, Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Rosemary Larry Olick, Dorothy Francis Naniot, and one sister-in-law, Irene VanVooran. The family received relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, July 14, 2000 at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Peter Site with the Rev. David C. Ruby officiating and burial at Oconto Catholic Cemetery.

Howard LeRoy Lunde
Howard LeRoy Lunde, 72, of Oconto, died Friday July 14, 2000 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay. Howard was born March 24, 1928 in Livingston, Montana to the late Halvor and Louise Einerson Lunde. He married Sandra Shallow on February 3, 1968 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oconto. Howard and his brother Norman owned and opoerated Norseman Ice Machines until 1969 when they sold to Liquid Carbonic. Howard then owned and operated Lunde Metal Fab., Inc. until the present time. Howard was a member of the Oconto Lions Club since 1966, American Legion, and Zion Lutheran Church. Howard served in the U.S. Navy.. Howard is survived by his wife Sandra, Oconto; one sister, Bernice Rock, Mercer Island, WA; one sister-in-law, Jane George Wos, Oconto; one brother-in-law, Harry Cynthia Shallow, Oconto; three nieces, Kathleen Ramee, Sigrid David Chambers, Sandra Hernshaw; five nephews, Gordon Shirley Rock, Michael Tricia Wos, Keegan Shallow, David Lunde and Logan Shallow. He was preceded in death by his parens; one brother, Norman Lunde; one brother-in-law, Edward Rock; one nephew, Greg Rock. Howard was gifted in many areas. He did creative metal art and recently became an avid painter of wildlife and nature scenes. He was a talented inventor, holding several patents, the most recent of which was for his smoker grill. As a young man, Howard enjoyed racing stock cars in the Milwaukee area. He enjoyed boating and fishing, hunting, bowling with the Lions and playing cards with his wife and friends. Howard loved to tell stories and relished the opportunity to entertain his friends and family with his endless repertoire. The family received relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, July 17. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Slow officiating. Howard is now probably smiling down from above, enjoying his famous "Silver Bullet" as he is at peace with his Maker.

(Mrs. Bernard) Dorothy N. Barribeau
(Mrs. Bernard) Dorothy Barribeau, age 70, Oconto, passed peacefully from her home to her Heavenly Home on Thursday afternoon, July 13, 2000. The former Dorothy A. Thisen was born July 1, 1930 at Forestville, the only daughter born to George and Agnes Christensen Thisen. Dorothy was employed in factory work much of her life. She had been employed by Paragen Electric, Two Rivers, Miller Canning, Fruit Growers, and Milwaukee Shoe, all of Sturgeon Bay, and Racine Glove, Oconto. On October 10, 1959, Dorothy was united in marriage to Bernard Barribeau at Forestville. The couple celebrated 40 happy years of marriage last fall. Dorothy was a member of the First American Lutheran Church, Oconto and was an active member of the Oconto Amvets Post #63 Ladies Auxillary. She was a life member of the Post, and had served as Secretary. She also served as the District President of the Ladies Auxillary. She loved animals, especially her dog, 'Lady' who was her pride and joy. She will be sadly missed by her husband Bernard; by three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Mirium Cisler, Two Rivers, Dr. John and Mabel Buhl, Waukesha, and Shirley Fabry, Oconto; a special friend Sue Schwanz, Oconto; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many other close friends. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother LeRoy, four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Catherine Barribeau, Jake Cisler, Edwin Sullivan, John Fabry, Orie and Mildred Nauman; and by a nephew, Stephen Pope. Relatives and Friends called at First American Lutheran Church, 511 Madison Street, Oconto, from 12 noon until 1:45 PM Sunday, July 16, 2000. Service of Christian Burial was held at 2 PM Sunday at the Church. The Rev. Richard DeBenedetto and Intern Randy Young officiated. Interment at Oconto Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. John Honish for the care given to Dorothy, and to Unity Hospice for the wonderful care offered to Dorothy and Bernard. It was deeply appreciated. Mrs. Beatrice L.Ammerman Hutchinson
Mrs. Beatrice L. Ammerman Hutchinson, 81, a former Coleman resident, died Friday, July 7, 2000 at Rennes Health Center-East, Peshtigo. Beatrice was born October 3, 1918 to the late William and Hilda Struck Ammerman in the Town of Brazeau. She was married to C.H. Hutchinson on December 10, 1940 at Coleman. He preceded her in death in 1996. Beatrice was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Coleman; the Ladies Aid from the church and also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a very active person in these organizations in her younger years. Beatrice is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Harold Broderick, of Pound; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Kathleen, of Coleman, Peter and Nancy, of Pound, and Richard and Darla, also of Pound; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mabel Ammerman, of Lena. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Clarence; her parents; one great-granddaughter; two sisters and three brothers Friends called at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Coleman from 11 a.m. Monday until the time of services. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. at the church with Rev. Gregory Stahlecker officiating. Interment in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Pound. Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman assisted the family with arrangements.
