Emily H. Burns, 82
Emily H. Burns, nee Heseman, 82, of West Bend, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 3, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Frederick and Emma (nee Winter) Heseman.
In 1941 Emily moved to California for a short time before moving to Florida where she was employed as an administrative secretary at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami.
In 1996 she moved to West Bend and resided at Cedar Ridge.
Survivors include her sister, June (Bernard) McGinn of West Bend; a niece, Patricia McGinn of Germantown; a nephew, John (Brenda) McGinn of Hubertus; and other relatives and friends.
In honoring Emily's request, she will be cremated and there will be no memorial service.
The Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home West Bend, is assisting the family.
Kenneth J. Henning, 69
Kenneth J. Henning 69, of West Bend, died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at his home.
He was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Chippewa Falls, to the late Herbert and Frieda (nee Kelm) Henning, and married Cresantha J. Goetz on Feb. 9, 1952, in Greendale.
Kenneth served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He then returned to Milwaukee to serve on the Milwaukee Police Department as a detective for 29 years.
He moved to West Bend 17 years ago where he enjoyed being a grandfather to his 11 grandchildren
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Brian (Shirley) of West Bend, Kurt (Lori) and Kent (Laurie), both of Jackson and Ken Scott (Sharon) of Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren, Scott, Eric, Kyle, Rebecca of West Bend, Heather, Andrea, Kirsten, Jared of Jackson, Megan of Jackson, Holly Ann, J.T. Lorino of Milwaukee; a sister, Delores (Leonard) Lazewski of Milwaukee; a nephew, David Lazewski of Milwaukee; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death was a sister, Gloria Henning.
He was a member of the Milwaukee Police Association and St. Paul's Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 8 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend. Dr. Rev. Elmer Prenzlow Jr. will officiate, and entombment will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, on Wednesday morning.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Mary F. Bisset, 83
Mary F. Bisset, nee Campbell, 83, of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
She was born April 30, 1916, in Andover, Mass. to George and Mary Grace (nee Hutley) Campbell.
Mary retired after 24 years as a nursing assistant at the Milwaukee County Infirmary.
Survivors include three daughters, Marjorie Krueger of Hartford, Barbara (Harvey) Pickhard of Tyler, Texas , and Vera "Pixie" (Ray) Owczarski of Hartford; special friend, Esther Breuer of West Bend; 10 grandchildren, Mary (Doug), Marjorie (Roy), Patti, Todd (Denise) Steven (Cindy), Brian, Scott (Cynthia), Jay (Shelly), David and Amy; 14 great-grandchildren, Daniel, David, Steven, Kristen, Maggie, Melony, Alyssa, Joshua, Ross, Nathan, Natalie, Glen, Olivia and Isabel; two brothers, Tom (Priscilla) of Wakefield, Mass. and John (Ella) of Manchester, N.H.; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, George and Alfred, and five sisters, Dorothy, Leila, Clara, Nora and Erma.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford Rev. George Schowalter will officiate, and interment will be in Pinelawn Memorial Cemetery, Milwaukee.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Nelson B. Schultz, 73
Nelson Benjamin Schultz, 73, of Briggsville, formerly of Jackson, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Divine Savior Hospital, Portage.
He was born May 23, 1926, in Milwaukee, to the late Emil and Freida (nee Scharf) Schultz.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Jackson VFW Post 7240.
Nelson was a talented bricklayer and a member of Mason Local No. 8. He was also very generous with his talent and helped many people.
On Sept. 20, 1978, he married Eulah Brown.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Bonnie (Bob) Kott of Sun Prairie, Jeanine (Terry) Larvick of Fredonia, Linda Schultz of Milwaukee, Rochelle (Charles) Zodrow of Colgate and Debora (Rudy) Vorwerk of West Bend; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Harvey (Waynet) of Germantown; a sister, Ella "Babe" (Jules) Beghin of Briggsville; a friend, Jim Leider of Fredonia; three stepchildren, Kendall (Diane) Brown of Milwaukee, Donna (Bill) Miller of Mauston and Curtis (Sandi) Brown of Menomonee Falls; a sister-in-law, Alberta Schultz of Briggsville; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were a brother, Ehernfried "Ginny" Schultz and a step-granddaughter, Kari Ann Brown.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. from Christ Lutheran Church, Jackson. Rev. Bill Gruenstein will officiate, and burial will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Jackson.
Visitation at the church only will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials can be made to Hospice or to Christ Lutheran Church, Jackson.

Mildred M. Zimmerman
Mildred M. Zimmerman (nee Aicher) of Hartford passed away on Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999 at the Cedar Lake Home Campus, West Bend. She was 80 years old.
She was born Oct. 27, 1919 in Milwaukee to John and Maria (nee Mixa) Aicher. She married Paul G. Zimmerman on June 6, 1942 at St. Boniface Church in Germantown.
Mildred was a member of Hartford Senior Friends, Hartford Hospital Auxiliary, and the Daughters of Isabella.
Mildred is survived by her husband, Paul; five sons, Daniel (Bonnie) of Hartford, Kenneth of Germantown, Arthur of Woodruff, Donald (Julie) of Neosho, and David (Suzanne) of Mayville; seven daughters, Diane (William) Fassbender of Hartford, Mary (Jerry) Crass of West Bend, Jane (Lon) Carriveau of Cedarburg, Kathleen (Gaiy) Nelson of Madison, Annette (Brian) Porter of Madison, Debra (Bob) Josephs of Madison, and Carol (Gordy) Pattee of Oshkosh; 29 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred (Cecelia) Aicher of Richfield and Edward (Shirley) Aicher of Lomira; two sisters, Alma Hensel of Germantown and Frances Skilondz of Florida; sister-in-law Helen Loftus of West Bend; and brother-in-law John (Marjorie) Zimmerman of Oconomowoc. Mildred is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Aiche Jr.; sister, Cecelia Michels; and granddaughter, Amanda Zimmerman.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Kilian’s Church, Hartford with Father Michael Petrie ofticiating. Visitation was at the Shimon Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 8 p.m. Interment was at St. Kilian’s Cemetery.

William A. ‘Pat’ Horsch, 81
William A. "Pat" Horsch, 81, of Slinger, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at Milwaukee Hospice of Wauwatosa.
He was born Oct. 13, 1918, in Hartford, to the late William and Della (Henn) Horsch, and attended Boys Tech of Milwaukee.
After his marriage to Lorraine A. Duehning on Feb. 17, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa, the couple lived in Milwaukee.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He later was a firefighter in Milwaukee for over 34 years, retiring as captain in the early '70s. They moved to Slinger in 1975.
His wife passed away April 12, 1996.
Survivors include a daughter, Della (Robert Sr.) Van Laanen of Wauwatosa; three grandchildren, Jeffery (Rosie) Van Laanen of Germantown, Roberta (Daniel) Stadler of Menomonee Falls and Robert Jr. (Kalien) Van Laanen of West Allis; seven great-grandchildren, Corri, Christy, William, Kayla, Kasi, Jacob and Karlie; two sisters, Bea (John) Gorecki and Lorene Babush, both of Milwaukee; a brother, Owen of Stuart, Fla.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Slinger, the VFW Post 3358 Zunker-Held of Slinger, Retired Professional Firefighters Association of Milwaukee and was very active in the Slinger Community serving on numerous boards.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 8 p.m. at The Phillip Funeral Home, Slinger. Father Robert J. Bales will officiate and interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery Slinger, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Memorials are appreciated to Milwaukee Hospice of Wauwatosa.
Ernest E. Van Aistine
Ernest E. Van Aistine of Hartford passed away Friday, Nov. 5, 1999 at Hartford Memorial Hospital at the age of 92 years.
Ernest was born Feb. 2, 1907 in Kilbourn, Wis. (Wisconsin Dells) to Warren and Emogene Van Aistine and married Ilse in Minneapolis, Minn.
Mr. Van Aistine graduated from Carroll College, Waukesha, in 1929 and went on to manage stores with the Kresge Corp. From 1951 until 1974 he owned Van Aistine’s Variety Store in Hartford. He was a lifetime member of Hartford’s Lions Club and was also a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Hartford.
Survivors include Ilse, his wife of 65 years; a son, James; two nieces, Joyce (Russell) Schenke and Alice Maynard, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Monday, Nov. 8 at the Berndt Funeral Home in Hartford from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral service were held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Arv Arveson officiating. Interment was Tuesday, Nov. 9 at Spring Grove Cemetery, Wisconsin Dells.
