Paul A. Hengen
Paul A. Hengen of Hubertus died at his home Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999 at the age of 90.
He was born to Peter and Lydia (Love) Hengen on June 13, 1909 in Nebraska. He married Betty Paulus in Milwaukee.
He was a self-employed certified personal accountant for many years.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews throughout the United States. He was preceded in death by his wife and four brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Hubertus Catholic Church with Father Chuck Hanel officiating. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services. A Rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m.
The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.

Donald L. Kreitlow
Donald L. Kreitlow of Hartford died on Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999 at the Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was 67 years old.
He was born may 27, 1932 in Milwaukee to Walter and Lorraine (nee Kratz) Kreitlow. He married Kay Fodor on Nov. 23, 1952 at Hillside Presbyterian Church in New York.
Don was employed at Rexnord, Inc. for 33 years and part time at A.E.S. (Amateur Electronic Supply). He was a ham radio operator who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Kay of Hartford; sons Neil of Paris, France and Jim (Carmen) of Rhinelander; daughter Cyndee ( Mike) Little of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren, Cory, Christine, Hallie, Justin, Colton and Kaylyn; mother Lorraine Kreitlow of West Allis. Don is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wally, and parents-in-law.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home with Rev. Verlin Wandrey officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
The family is served by Shimon Funeral Home.

Madelyn Rose Honeck
Mrs. Madelyn Rose (nee Errard) Honeck, 76, passed away at her residence in Racine on Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999. She was born in Fond du Lac on April 29, 1923 to Charles and Helen Errard.
On Valentine’s Day, 1942, she was united in marriage to Joseph John Honeck of West Bend, where they were married 51 years, only parting at Joe’s death in 1993.
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Maddie lived life to the fullest. An avid, life-long bridge player, she was a member of the Racine Duplicate Bridge Club for more than 30 years, serving as past president. Maddie loved to travel with Joe and together they toured the United States for decade. After Joe’s retirement in 1982, they enjoyed wintering in Las Vegas.
She is survived by her children, JoAnn Beckfield of Lansing, Mich., Mary Ellen Woelfle of Seattle and Joseph John (Mary) Honeck of Iowa City, Iowa; four grandchildren Katie, Jonathan, Joey and Rebecca; her two best friends, Thelma Osmonds and Susan Welter; and many nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, parents, her sisters Geraldine and Genevieve and a brother Bernard.
Visitation for Madelyn will be held at Strouf-Kniewel Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. with Pastor Richard Halom officiating.
Memorials to Covenant Hospice Alliance of Racine are appreciated.

Leona Marie Grant, 90
A funeral service was held on Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ishpenning, Mich. for Leona Marie Grant, 90, who died Nov. 9, 1999 after being hit by a car on Washington Avenue in Cedarburg. Interment was held at Ishpenning Cemetery.
Mrs. Grant was born Sept. 18, 1909 in Ishpenning, Mich., daughter of Edlore and Eva (nee Nault) Lafreniere. She worked as a homemaker and was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Cedarburg.
Survivors include: daughter Barbara Klaeser; sons Pierre (Judy) Le Sage and Neil (Gabriele) Le Sage.
Further survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her first husband, Edward J. Le Sage and second husband Joseph "JJ" Grant.
Memorials to St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church are appreciated.

Thomas Michael Macy, 41
A funeral service was held Wednesday evening at Advent Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, for Thomas Michael Macy, 41, of Rochester, Minn., whose body was found Nov. 13, 1999 in the Jackson Marsh.
Mr. Macy was born April 12, 1958 in Osceola, Iowa, son of Myron and Patricia (nee Sanders) Macy. He worked as a pipefitter.
Survivors include parents Myron and Patricia Macy of Las Vegas; brothers Joe Macy of Las Vegas and John (Nancy) Macy of Gretna, Neb.; sisters Jane Macy of Chatfield, Minn. and Mary Macy of San Diego; canine companion Lucky Dawg; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to any nature conservation society would be appreciated.

Delores N. Peterson
Delores N. Peterson of Neosho passed away Saturday, Oct. 30 at Hartford Memorial Hospital at the age of 83 years old. She was born Dec. 26, 1915 in the township of Ashippun, daughter of Charlie and Theda Peterson.
Delores is survived by her sisters Eleanor (Hilbert) Kulke and Margaret Baumann, all of Neosho. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, and by her sisters Bernice Peterson and Vera Wittenburg.
Delores was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Neosho. She lived in the Neosho area her whole life, many of those years with her sister, Eleanor. She retired from Chrysler Marine Corp. after 28 years of service.
Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 2 and the funeral took place at 2 p.m., both at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Neosho, Rev. David Meister officiating. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Neosho.

Nicholas ‘Nick’ J. Becker
Nicholas ‘Nick’ J. Becker of the town of Erin, formerly of Random Lake, passed away Thursday, Oct. 28 at the age of 85.
Nick attended Random Lake High School and married Mildred Des Jarlias who preceded him in death in 1987. He was retired from the Globe Union Corp. where he worked as a mechanic. But, most of all, Nick’s job was to take care of God’s creatures; the hummingbirds, blue jays, and grackles; to live-trap the raccoon who had wandered too far and return it to its element; and to watch over the fawns as they grew to adulthood. Stray cats were never without food, winter birds found haven in Nick’s vigilance. As he worked the earth to produce food, he will now return to the earth that he loved and cared for over his years as God’s helping hand.
Nick is survived by his sister Agnes Anderson of Random Lake many nieces and nephews and his friend Diana Susitti and Family. He was further preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, John, Ed and Rose Becker, Anne Franzen and Clara Jacoby.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. at Luko-Evert Funeral Home, 170 Warren Avenue, Hartland. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until the time of the services.

Carmen McHugh-Briggs, 50
Carmen McHugh-Briggs of Napa, Calif. passed away on Monday, Nov. 15, while surrounded by family members at her home. She lost her year-long battled with cancer at the age of 50.
She was born in Plainview, Minn. and soon moved to the family's rural home in Newburg where she spent most of her childhood. She attended Newburg public school and graduated from West Bend High School in 1967.
She moved to Marin County, Calif., in the early 1970s, to Nevada City in 1980, and to Napa in 1985 where she met her husband.
Carmen's love of nature and animals led to her involvement in the local Sierra Club and Bonsai Club. She was an avid backyard gardener and photographer.
Over the years, she became a certified animal health technician worked for several local veterinary hospitals, and in 1991 became an area sales representative for MWI Veterinary Supplies of Idaho.
Survivors include her parents, Giles and Florence McHugh; her husband, David; a son, Conor Briggs; sisters, Averill Lange and Barbara McHugh; a brother, Jon McHugh; nine nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held at her Napa home on Friday, Nov. 19 from 1 to 4:30 p.m.
A second gathering will be held at the home of her brother, Jon, 316 E. Newark, Newburg, on Saturday, Nov. 27, from 1 to 4:30 p.m.
Cremation arrangements were cared for by Treadway and Wigger Funeral Chapel, Napa, Calif.

Magdalena A. Pieper
Magdalena A. Pieper (nee Gerwing) of Mayville died Wednesday, Oct. 27 at the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 92 years old.
She was born Nov. 25, 1906 in Woodland to Gustav and Emma (nee Schultz) Gerwing. She married Alvin Pieper on June 4, 1930 at St. John’s Church in Woodland.
Magdalena worked for many years as a cook at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau. She had an avid green thumb and was an excellent seamstress.
She is survived by her son, Merlin (Ruth Ann) of Hustisford; three daughters, Mildred (Fred) Wenger of Iron Ridge, Evona Krueger of Florida, Darlene Kriegel of Fort Atkinson; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth, Erna, and Eleanor; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; an infant daughter; and a sister, Selma.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 30 at noon at the Shimon Funeral Home with Rev. Lichtenberg officiating. Interment, Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove.

Ruth F. Mathwig
Ruth F. Mathwig of Juneau passed away Sunday Oct. 31 at the Beverly Terrace Health Center in Watertown at the age of 77 years.
She was born July 18, 1922 in Baraboo, WI, daughter of Otto and Amelia Rathman.
Ruth married Stanley Mathwig June 20, 1981 in the First Congregation church in Hartford.
Ruth and Stanley farmed in the Juneau area for many years.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Stanley, a sister Alice Decco of La Valle, WI.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and a brother.
Visitation took place Tuesday, Nov. 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Berndt Funeral Home in Juneau.
The funeral service took place at 7 p.m., Chaplain Frank Sims officiating.
Interment service was Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
