Emily H. Burns, 82

Emily H. Burns, nee Heseman, 82, of West Bend, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 3, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Frederick and Emma (nee Winter) Heseman.

In 1941 Emily moved to California for a short time before moving to Florida where she was employed as an administrative secretary at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami.

In 1996 she moved to West Bend and resided at Cedar Ridge.

Survivors include her sister, June (Bernard) McGinn of West Bend; a niece, Patricia McGinn of Germantown; a nephew, John (Brenda) McGinn of Hubertus; and other relatives and friends.

In honoring Emily's request, she will be cremated and there will be no memorial service.

The Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home West Bend, is assisting the family.

Kenneth J. Henning, 69

Kenneth J. Henning 69, of West Bend, died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at his home.

He was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Chippewa Falls, to the late Herbert and Frieda (nee Kelm) Henning, and married Cresantha J. Goetz on Feb. 9, 1952, in Greendale.

Kenneth served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

He then returned to Milwaukee to serve on the Milwaukee Police Department as a detective for 29 years.

He moved to West Bend 17 years ago where he enjoyed being a grandfather to his 11 grandchildren

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Brian (Shirley) of West Bend, Kurt (Lori) and Kent (Laurie), both of Jackson and Ken Scott (Sharon) of Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren, Scott, Eric, Kyle, Rebecca of West Bend, Heather, Andrea, Kirsten, Jared of Jackson, Megan of Jackson, Holly Ann, J.T. Lorino of Milwaukee; a sister, Delores (Leonard) Lazewski of Milwaukee; a nephew, David Lazewski of Milwaukee; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was a sister, Gloria Henning.

He was a member of the Milwaukee Police Association and St. Paul's Church.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 8 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend.

Dr. Rev. Elmer Prenzlow Jr. will officiate, and entombment will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, on Wednesday morning.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Memorials to St. Paul's Church, Cedar Lake, are appreciated.

Rodney L. Schroeder, 62

A funeral service was held Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton for Rodney L. Schroeder, 62, who died on Nov. 26, 1999.

Rev. John Suelflow officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton.

Burial was at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Grafton.

Mr. Schroeder was born Oct. 23, 1937 in Appleton, son of Ervin and Elara (nee Wiese) Schroeder.

He married Arleen Sauer on Aug. 6, 1960 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Port Washington.

He was a teacher at Grafton High School for 34 years and also served as Grafton village president for four terms.

Survivors include: wife Arleen Schroeder of Grafton; sons Timothy (Kerry) Schroeder of Austin, Texas, Mark Schroeder of Green Bay and David Schroeder of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; daughters Kristine Schroeder of Houston, Texas and Pamela (Nick) Merkle of Anchorage, Alaska.; sister Delores Kessner of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren Misha and Olga Schroeder of Austin, Texas.

Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Memorials to St. Paul’s Find Us Faithful Debt Retirement Fund or the 150th Anniversary Fund.

Doris E. Stockinger, 80

Doris E. Stockinger, 80, of West Bend, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at the Samaritan Health Center.

She was born July 20, 1919, in Milwaukee to the late Herman and Marie Stockinger.

Doris worked for many years at Geiser Potato Chip Co. in Milwaukee, retiring in 1980.

In 1988 she moved to West Bend and resided at Meadowbrook Manor until becoming a resident of the Samaritan in 1997.

Survivors include a son, James (Linda) Stockinger of West Bend; four grandchildren, Jason, Brian, Michael and Sara Stockinger, all of West Bend; nieces; nephew; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her stepfather, Peter Becker, and a brother Ralph Becker.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend.

Rev. Oscar Kraft of Our Savior's Lutheran Church will officiate, and burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Pinelawn Memorial Park, Milwaukee.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Saturday from noon until the time of services.

Jean A. Helsell, 66

Jean A. Helsell, 66, of Homosassa, Fla., died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital.

She was born in Platteville, lived in Kewaskum, and had resided in Homosassa for 18 years.

Survivors include five sons, Dennis of West Bend, Alan of Jackson, Raymond of West Bend, Dwight of Kewaskum and Mark of Homosassa; a daughter, Sherry Schuetz of Jackson; her stepmother, Vonda Johnsen of Platteville; five brothers, Ronnie Johnsen of Platteville, Robert Johnsen of Dubuque, Iowa, David Johnsen of Platteville, Lynn Johnsen of Stoughton and Dale Johnsen of Platteville; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband Raymond on Dec. 10, 1997; a brother, Cleatus; a sister, Ruth; and a daughter, Ruth Mary.

There will be no funeral services at this time.

The Wilder-Fountains Funeral Home, Homosassa Springs, Fla., is assisting the family.

Frederic "Fred" R. Mielke, 83

A funeral service was held on Saturday at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Chapel of the Chimes for Frederic "Fred" R. Mielke, 83, who died on Nov. 2, 1999.

Rev. Pete Peterson officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg.

Entombment was at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.

Mr. Mielke was born Dec. 24, 1915 in Milwaukee, son of Rudolph and Elizabeth (nee Meissert) Mielke.

He married Charlotte A. Dalli on June 12, 1943 in Milwaukee.

He worked as an Allstate Insurance agent for 28 years.

He was a member of the Myron Reed Masonic Lodge #297 for 50 years and a life member of the Wisconsin Consistory.

Survivors include: wife Charlotte A. Mielke of Cedarburg; sons David (Christine) Mielke of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Steven (Vicki) Mielke of Appleton; sister Charlotte Noll of Menasha and Lillian Meehan of San Diego, Calif.; grandchildren Michael (Kathy) Mielke, Heather Mielke and Christjon Mielke.

Memorials to the Ozaukee County Humane Society are appreciated.
