Trent W. Ringel, 47
Trent Weston Ringel, 47, of West Bend, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000.
Trent was born March 13, 1952, in St. Joseph, Mich., to Norman and Doris (Sprenger) Ringel, graduated from Crestview High School in Mountaintop, Penn., and attended two years at Milwaukee School of Engineering.
On Aug. 26, 1978, he married Christine Moroz in Detroit, Mich.
Trent was a mechanical/electrical coordinator for Midwest Mechanical Contractors in Detroit and Blount Inc. in Montgomery, Ala. For the past five years he worked in the parts department for Weil Pump Co. in Cedarburg.
Trent enjoyed snow skiing, golfing and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Survivors include his wife; mother, Doris Ringel of Sheboygan; grandmother, Alma Sprenger of Sheboygan; a sister Jacque (Lynn) Ehlers of Madison a brother, Gary (Suzy) of Cedarburg his parents-in-law, George and Agatha Moroz of Detroit, Mich; special brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
His father preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at First United Lutheran Church, Sheboygan, with Rev. Karl J. Nelson, pastor, officiating.
Friends may greet the family at the church on Tuesday from noon until the time of services.
A memorial fund will be established in his name.
The Huehns-Wenig Funeral Home, Sheboygan Falls, is serving the family.

Harold W. Dieball
Harold W. Dieball, 78 of Richfield, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999 of a massive stroke.
He was the only child of Carl and Ella (Adams) Dieball. On July 14, 1945, he was married to Janet Badke of Menomonee Falls.
Harold’s life was his family and his farm. He worked the family farm his whole life until the day the Lord quickly took him home. His hard work was a living example to his family and friends. Harold was a resident of the town of Richfield, born in Milwaukee, but lived 77 of his 78 years on Plat Road.
He was one of the last surviving of the seven sons-in-law of John and Anna Badke.
Survivors include his wife and their children, James (Georgene), Charles and Barbara.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, Dec. 24, 1999 by Fr. Chuck Hanel at St. Columba’s Church at Lake Five.
A Vigil service was held on Thursday, Dec. 23 and interment was at St. Columba’s cemetery.

John Hollenstein
John G. Hollenstein of Hartford passed away on Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999 at Hartford Care Center. He was 83 years old.
He was born Aug. 25, 1916 at Cedar Lake, Wis. to John and Margaret (nee Theis) Hollenstein and married Dorothy (nee Maney) on June 17, 1941 at St. Kilian Church, Hartford.
John was a machinist at Kearney & Trecker in Milwaukee for more than 30 years. He was a member of St. Kilian Church and the Hartford VFW Post #8834.
John is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three daughters, Meridel (Roger) Flesch, Camille (Michael) Reese and Jill (Donald) Vollrath; five grandchildren, Patrick and Nicole Flesch, Jefferey and Marc Reese and Deidra Vollrath; a brother, Jerome Haupert, and a sister, Rosella Holton.
He was preceded in death by a son, John Jr.
A Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, Jan. 3 at 4 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford, with the Rev. Franklyn Becker officiating. Visitation was at the church only on Monday, Jan. 3 from 3 to 4 p.m. Interment at St. Kilian Cemetery.
The Shimon Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Elizabeth Rose
Elizabeth L. Rose of Rubicon passed away at her home Monday, Dec. 20 at the age of 94 years.
She was born in Rubicon Jan. 1, 1905 to parents William and Anna Bahringer.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Rose, her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A private graveside service will be held.
The Berndt Funeral Home is serving the family.

Phillip Keil
Phillip D. Keil of Hartford went home to the Lord on Monday, Jan. 3, 2000. He was 68 years old.
He was born April 14, 1931 in Beaver Dam to Philip and Laura (nee Lidtke) Keil, and married Carol Schultz on Jan. 12, 1957 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Phillip served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, earning a Korean service ribbon with two bronze stars.
The family moved to West Bend in 1969 and later to Slinger, before residing most recently in Hartford. Phillip retired from the village of Slinger where he was superintendent at the wastewater treatment facility. After his retirement, he enjoyed golfing with friends and family.
Phillip is survived by his wife Carol of Hartford; three sons, Bruce (Rhonda) of Millersville, Md., Brad (Amy) of Monona and Boyd of Shrewsbury, Pa.; two daughters, Becky Keil of West Bend and Barbara (Daniel) Waala of Hartland; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Seth and Rachel Keil, Melissa Keil, Dylan Keil and Chelsey and Zachary Waala; brother Frederick (Florence) of Beaver Dam; two sisters Caroline Strohschein of Beaver Dam and Ruth Ann (Ward) Polzin of Solon Springs; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Barbara.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Jon Tesch officiating. Visitation at the Shimon Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment at Washington County Memorial Park.
Memorials to Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the American Lung Association.

E. Isabelle Lycan, 96
E. Isabelle Lycan, nee Hart, of West Bend, formerly of Sheboygan, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, at the age of 96.
She was born Feb. 26, 1903, in Ardock, N.D., to the late John and Eliza (Kerr) Hart, and married Glenn W. Lycan on Sept. 24, 1932, in St. Paul, Minn. He passed away on Nov. 5, 1963.
She taught in public schools in Dunn and St. Croix counties, moving to Sheboyan in 1935 when she was director of Christian Education at the First Congregational Church.
In 1987 she moved to Cedar Ridge in West Bend,and moved to Cedar Bay in 1999.
Survivors include a son, Richard of Portland, Ore; a stepdaughter, Winnogene Palmer of Grants Pass, Ore.; a grandson, Paul Lycan of San Diego, Calif; a granddaughter, Anne Marie Lycan of Portland, Ore; and three great-grandchildren, Paula, Molly and Jesse of San Diego, Calif.
Preceding her in death were her husband, former county extension agent in Sheboygan County for many years, four sisters and three brothers.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Sheboygan, for many years and currently Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend.
While residing in Sheboygan she was active in a variety of church activities, Eastern Star and in support of the Blood Bank.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, West bend. Rev. James Eckblad will officiate, and interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Sheboygan, at 4:30 p.m.
Visitation at the church only will be Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m.
Memorials are appreciated to Immanuel UCC of West Bend or Cedar Lake Home Campus of West Bend.
The Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, is assisting the family.

Alex C. Spaeth, 82
Alex C. Spaeth of West Bend died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999 at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Juneau at the age of 82.
He was born May 23, 1917 in West Bend to the late Adam and Anna (nee Knoeck) Spaeth, and married Germaine Neuburg on Nov. 3, 1945 at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Nenno.
After graduating from high school, he learned the electrician trade. Alex served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Burma, China, India Theater during during World War II as an electrician on B-25 bombers.
After his discharge, he returned to West Bend where he operated an electrical business until 1968 when he started working as an electrical maintenance man at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital. He retired in 1982. Alex was a member of the Apostolate of Suffering.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Steve of West Bend; two grandsons, Adam of Hartford and Steven "Tony" of West Bend; other relatives and friends.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Holy Angels Church with Father Gerald Brittain presiding. The family will greet relatives and friends at a reception following the service in the Walnut Room of Holy Angels School.
The Schmidt Funeral Home is serving the family.

William "Pat" Horsch
William A. "Pat" Horsch, 81, of Slinger, died Sunday, Dec. 26 at the Milwaukee Hospice of Wauwatosa.
He was born Oct. 13, 1918 in Hartford to the late William and Della (Henn) Horsch, and married Lorraine A. Duehring on Feb. 17, 1940 in Dubuque, Iowa. After marriage the couple lived in Milwaukee.
William was born in Hartford, raised in Milwaukee, and attended Boys Tech. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a firefighter in Milwaukee for over 34 years, retiring as a captain in the early 1970s. He moved to Slinger in 1975.
His wife passed away April 12, 1996.
Survivors include a daughter, Della (Robert Sr.) Van Laanen of Germantown, Roberta (Daniel) Stadler of Menomonee Falls and Robert Jr. (Kalien) Van Laanen of West Allis; seven great-grandchildren, Corri, Christy, William, Kayla, Kasi, Jacob and Karlie; two sisters, Bea (John) Gorecki and Lorene Babush, both of Milwaukee; a brother Owen of Stuart, Fla.; nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Slinger, VFW Post 3358 Zunker-Held of Slinger, Retired Professional Firefighters Association of Milwaukee and was very active in the Slinger community, serving on numerous boards.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 28 at 8 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, Slinger. Father Robert J. Bales officiated and interment was at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Slinger at 10 a.m. Dec. 29.
Visitation was at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Memorials to the Milwaukee Hospice of Wauwatosa are appreciated.
