Richard "Dick" Bayley
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Jan. 9, 2000, at Grace Lutheran Church in Thiensville for Richard "Dick" J. Bayley, 72, who died on Jan. 2, 2000. The family will receive visitors beginning at 4 p.m. until the time of service. Schramka-Densow Funeral Home, Thiensville, assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Bayley served in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was a graduate of North Dakota State University and he was the owner of BayleyWick Gift Shop in Thiensville. He was a retired employee of Evinrude Motors.
Survivors include: wife Yvonne "Sam" Bayley; son Chris (Tracy) Bayley; grandson Denver Rae Bayley.
Further survived by two sisters, other relatives and friends.

Lucille C. Binder Ratatori
A Mass of Christian Burial was held yesterday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Churchfor Lucille C. Binder Ratatori, 76, who died on Dec. 31, 1999. Fr. Mike Barrett officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Sheboygan.
Mrs. Binder was born May 12, 1923 in Marshfield, daughter of Frank and Anna (nee Johnson) Dishinger. She married Victor Binder and owned and operated Vic’s Lunch in Sheboygan in the 1950s and early ’60s. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grafton, former member and choir member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. She was employed at Boston Store at Bayshore for 25 years. She delivered communion to shut-ins and volunteered at Lasata Nursing Home in Cedarburg. She enjoyed her bridge group and was active within the Manchester Heights community.
Survivors include: sons Thomas (Patricia) Binder of Mequon, Richard (Ann) Binder of Sheboygan and Gerald (Darleen) Binder of Milwaukee; sisters Marjorie Peterson of Schenectady, N.Y., Loretta (Bob) Mau of New Berlin and Sharon Wehr of Wisconsin Rapids; brothers Clifford Dishinger of Rice Lake and Richard (Nancy) Dishinger of Child; stepmother Marie Dishinger of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren Kyle, Corey, Erin and Alex; great-grandson Cameron.
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Victor in 1958 and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Joseph’s Family Sharing Program or St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Tom Wollner
A funeral service was held on Dec. 30 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Thiensville for Tom V. Wollner, 47, who died on Dec. 26, 1999. A private interment ceremony took place afterward. Schramka Funeral Home, Thiensville, assisted the family with arrangements.
Survivors include: mother Bernadine M. Wollner; brother Raymond J. (Karen) Wollner Jr.; sisters Karen (David) Lichtensteiger and Mary (Dean) Klinger.
He is also survived by nephews and nieces Scott (Caroline) Wollner, Duane (Jeannie) Wollner, Stacy (Michael) Gauthier, Jason (friend Jennifer Sadowsky) Wollner, Toby Lichtensteiger, Ryan (fiancee Christine Brodzeller) Lichtensteiger, Jonathan Klinger and Katherine Klinger, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond M. Wollner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Sts. Cecilia/James School Trust Fund or Holy Angels School Trust Fund are appreciated.

Gertrude Eickstedt
A memorial service was held yesterday at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, for Gertrude Eickstedt, 90, who died on Jan. 1, 2000. Rev. Wilmer Reichmann officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg.
Mrs. Eickstedt was born Nov. 7, 1909 in Cedarburg, daughter of Robert and Alvina (nee Rick) Jaehnert. She worked as a homemaker and attended First Immanual Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: daughter Judith D’Amato of Grafton; son Robert Eickstedt of Downington, Pa.; grandchildren Maria D’Amato, Nicole D’Amato, Martine Eickstedt, Raymond Eickstedt, Kim Fulmer, Pam Null and Rebecca Wilson, all of Grafton.
She is further survived by seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Barbara Ann Hulka
A funeral service was held on Sunday at Divine Word Catholic Church for Barbara Ann Hulka, 80, who died on Dec. 29, 1999. Rev. George Gajdos officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg.
Mrs. Hulka was born Sept. 27, 1919 in Berlin, Wisconsin, daughter of John and Pauline (nee Prechowski) Faytle. She married George Hulka on April 14, 1941 in Green Lake and worked as a housewife. She was part of the Cedarburg Woman’s Club, founding member of the Cedarburg Cultural Center and part of the early restoration movement in Cedarburg. She was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church for many years.
Survivors include: husband George Hulka of Cedarburg; sons Jon Hulka of Needmoor, Pa. and Peter (Julie) J. Hulka of Cedarburg; daughter Kristin Hulka of Milwaukee; sister Paula Schmidt of Sarasota, Fla.; granddaughter Tara Hulka of Milwaukee.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials to Divine Word Catholic Church or St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church are appreciated.

James Murray
A funeral service was held Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Elcho for James E. Murray, 72, who died on Dec. 30, 1999. The Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, Antigo, assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Murray was born April 11, 1927 in Fond du Lac, son of Joseph and Kathryn Murray. He married Jeanne O’Neil on June 24, 1950 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Mr. Murray began his career in education as a teacher in Lena and Port Washington and the football coach at Port Washington. He was high school principal for two years and became superintendent of schools in Grafton.
In 1989 he retired to Summit Lake and was a member of the Antigo Elks Lodge, Holy Family Catholic Church and Antigo Bass Lake Country Club, serving as past president and former member of the board of directors. He also served in the Air Force from 1945-’47.
Survivors include: daughter Peggy Murray, Troy, Mich.; sons Bill (Tracy) Murray, Madison, Tom (Lani) Murray, Woodstock, Ill.; 8 grandchildren; sister Rosemary (Bob) Schuchardt, North Fond du Lac; brother Jack (Audrey) Murray, Mequon.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Mr. Murray’s name.

Arleen Krueger
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Dec. 23, 1999 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church for Arleen Krueger, 79, who died on Dec. 20, 1999. Burial was at Zur Ruhe Cemetery. Schramka-Gunther Funeral Home, Cedarburg, assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Krueger was a lifelong resident of Cedarburg and member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. She married Palmer Krueger on Nov. 6, 1943. They owned and operated Barth’s at the Bridge for many years. She was a fourth generation descendant of Friedrich Hilgen, a founding father of Cedarburg.
Survivors include: husband Palmer Krueger of Cedarburg; sons Peter (Linda) Krueger and Thomas (Sharon) Krueger; daughter Mary Lou (Jim) Graven; grandchildren Kimberly Krueger, John (Heather) Krueger, Christopher Krueger, Tracey (Jim) Martiny, Amy Krueger and Kelly Grosser; brother John (Joyce) Barth.
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by brother Harold and sister-in-law Thelma Barth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Francis Borgia and Visiting Nurse Association are appreciated.

Anita Karthauser
A funeral service was held on Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Thiensville for Anita Karthauser, 90, who died on Dec. 24, 1999. Private internment was held at Graceland Cemetery. Schramka-Densow Funeral Home, Thiensville, assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Karthauser was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Karthauser and her late husband, Otto, were involved with the family business, Karthauser & Sons, for many years.
Survivors include: sons Gerald (Mary) Karthauser and Neal (Rita) Karthauser; daughter Betty Ann (Donald) Rennicke; grandchildren Bradley Karthauser, Scott (Jean) Rennicke, Randall (Judy) Rennicke Sr., Dean (Margaret) Rennicke, Amy (Phillip) Theesfeld, Brian (Karen) Karthauser, Steven (fiancee Cindy Snyder) Karthauser, Jonathan Locken, Rachel Locken and Amy Locken; brother Edward (Lu) Kiekhaefer; sister Irene Bott.
Further survived by 17 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Otto Karthauser.
Memorials to Grace Lutheran Church are appreciated.

Richard Ehr
A funeral Mass will be held this morning at 10:30 at Divine Word Catholic Church, 1375 Covered Bridge Rd., Cedarburg, for Richard J. Ehr, 79, who died Jan. 5, 2000 at St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee.
Services will be led by Father George Gajdos, with burial to follow at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery, Mequon. Arrangements are being handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg.
Mr. Ehr was born in Milwaukee on July 20, 1920, son of the late Nicholas and Alma (nee Benzing) Ehr. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Ehr.
Mr. Ehr owned a tool and die shop in Cedarburg, and attended Divine Word Catholic Church.
Survivors include sons Richard (Beverly) Ehr Jr. of Cedarburg and Robert Ehr of Grafton; daughters Mary (Daniel) Brown of Saukville and Jayne (Javier) Davila of Adell; brothers Thomas P. (Yvette) Ehr of Pewaukee and Nicholas (Rhoda) Ehr Jr. of Fox Point; sisters Sheila Ehr of Racine, Gertrude (Elmer) Krisch of Milwaukee and Winifred (Earl) Meyer of Menomonee Falls; grandchildren Melissa, Nathan, Benjamin and Matthew Ehr, Jennifer Brown, Maxwill and Samantha Ehr, Miranda, Miles and Beau Davila; other relatives and friends.
Memorials to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.

Cynthia A. Nichols, 43
Cynthia A. Nichols, nee Ladwig, of West Bend, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
She was born in Milwaukee on July 26, 1956, to Ronald and Evangeline (nee Suhm) Ladwig.
In 1970 she moved with her family to Jackson and attended West Bend West High School.
Cynthia was a former employee of Leeson Electric in Grafton, and for the last several years was employed at Stein Garden Center, West Bend.
She enjoyed gardening and bird watching.
Survivors include her husband, Mike; three sons, Patrick, Joseph and Timmy, all at home; her parents, Ronald and Evangeline Ladwig of Jackson; two sisters, Lynne (Eric) Thorin of West Bend and Lori (Dan) Burback of Kewaskum; two brothers, Mike (Debbie) of Grafton and Bill (Terra) of Jackson; her mother-in-law, Victoria Nichols of Spooner; a sister-in-law, Linda (Gary) Magnus of Spooner; a brother-in-law, Thomas (Peggy) Nichols of Superior; a niece, Liane Szweda; two nephews, Travis Thorin and Eric Zimmermann; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 1:30 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Rev. Timothy Niekerk of Living Word Lutheran Church, Jackson, will officiate, and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
Cynthia will be deeply missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Earl T. ‘Mick’ Young, 75
Earl T. "Mick" Young, of West Bend, died Thursday, Jan 6, 2000 at his residence at the age of 75.
He was born on July 17, 1924 in Milwaukee to the late Earl and Fern (nee McCormick) Young and he married Dorothy Schultz on Nov. 29, 1947 in Milwaukee.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the China, Burma and India Theater.
He was employed in the trucking industry for many years, working in all phases of the business including loading, driving and dispatching. He retired in 1987. He enjoyed yard work and was an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, three children, Michael (Janet) Young of West Bend, William (Gail) Young of Milwaukee and Patricia Ann (William) Dahl of Maple Grove, Minnesota; eight grandchildren, Daniel Young, Kelly Young, Aaron Young, Brad Young, Sara Young, Andrea Dahl, Jessie Dahl and Erica Dahl; two sisters, Jean Young and Susan (Andrew) Litter, both of West Allis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Young.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Jan. 10 ay 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church, West Bend, with Rev. Joseph Fisher and Rev. David Meyer officiating.
Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin.
Memorials are appreciated to the St. Joseph's Community Hospital of West Bend Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center or to a charity of the donor's choice.
The Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.
