Linda A. Eichhorst, 35
Linda A. (nee Gerek) Eichhorst of Hartford passed away at home, Monday, Jan. 10, 2000 at the age of 35 years.
She was the loving wife and best friend of Dennis, dear and devoted mother of Alex and Sam, beloved daughter of Richard Sr. and Arlene Gerek of Neshkoro; loving sister of Dawn (Steve) Olson of Germantown, Renee (Jay) Steger of Slinger, Susan (Mike) Eardman of Germantown and Richie (Nichole) Gerek of Germantown.
She was preceded in death by her brother Alan and was the dearest granddaughter of Veretta Noggle of Sussex, loving daughter-in-law of Leroy and Shirley Eichhorst of Sussex, dear sister-in-law of Dave and Lin Eichhorst, Dawn Eichhorst, Debbie and Scot Rehn and Dale and Nisook Eichhorst, Cheryl and Randy Monical and Denise and Michael Rubunka. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many, many friends.
Visitation was Wednesday, Jan. 12 at the Berndt Funeral Home, Hartford, from 5 to 7 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church, 264 W. State St., Hartford. Interment at St. Kilian’s Cemetery.
Linda was employed at "Infectious Disease Specialist of Southeastern Wisconsin." She always would be warm and gentle with her terminally ill patients and faced her own death with the same cheerfulness to the end.
Linda fought a long hard battle of cancer. She was extremely devoted to her children through her never-ending treatments and will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, Linda believed in a good education for her two sons and asked that any memorials be contributed to the boys’ education fund.

Elsie C. Hanson, 89
Elsie C. Hanson of Waukesha died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000 at the age of 89 years.
She was born Jan. 26, 1910 to John and Ida (nee Fuiten) Schauer, and married Roy T. Hanson on Dec. 28, 1930. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1957.
Mrs. Hanson was a 1935 graduate of Carroll College. She was a registered pharmacist for Stone Pharmacy in New Berlin, and had previously worked at the former Rhode Pharmacy in Waukesha. She was a 30-year member of the board of directors of the Salvation Army and served as secretary of the advisory board, was a member of Altrusa, the Waukesha YWCA, and the Maple Chapter #90 of the Order of Eastern Star. She is remembered as a caring, charitable person.
Mrs. Hanson is survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elda Rose Engler.
Friends called Sunday, Jan. 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 111 E. Main St., Waukesha. Burial at Prairie Home Cemetery.

Pearl A. Krueger, 92
Pearl A. Krueger, nee Graff, of Slinger died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000 at Virginia Highlands Nursing Home at the age of 92 years.
She was born to William and Elizabeth (nee Schloemer) Graff on April 20, 1907 in the town of Jackson, and married Raymond J. Krueger on Sept. 8, 1928 in the town of Richfield.
She was born and raised in the town of Jackson and attended Jackson Grade School. After marriage, the couple farmed the family homestead in the town of Richfield, retiring in 1967. The couple then settled in Slinger in 1969.
She is a past member of St. Paul’s U.C.C. of the town of Erin and a member of the Hartford Senior Friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond on April 13, 1993; her parents; one son,Lyle; and one grandson, Dale.
Survivors include three children, Roland (Beatrice) Krueger of the town of Hartford, Arlene (Gene) Greuel of Colgate and Norman (Lois) Krueger of Slinger; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend with Rev. David A. Beckstrom of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Hartford officiating. Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park on Friday, Jan. 14, 2000 at 10 a.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorials are appreciated to the charity of your choice.

Dr. Daniel I. Mazar, 81
Dr. Daniel I. Mazar, 81, Willowbrook, a former Knox County resident, died at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 1999 in LaGrange Memorial Hospital, LaGrange, Ill.
He was born Aug. 18, 1918 in Bingham Canyon, Utah, to Djuro and Josephine Dejanovich Mazar, Persha.
He married Vlasta Lenardic in 1944 in Yugoslavia.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Vlastimir Mazar, Phoenix, Ariz.; Daniel D. Mazar, Oviedo, Fla., and Adrian E. Mazar, LaGrange; four sisters, Helen Uecker, Iron Ridge, Katherine Krause, Mayville, Mary Schmeling and Ann Stipanovich, Mayville; one brother, Nick Persha, Mayville, and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
He was a veteran of the Yugoslavian military. A retired physician and surgeon, he practiced family medicine at Galesburg State Research Hospital from 1955 through 1959, in Abingdon in 1967 and in Bushnell from 1967 until 1988.
Funeral and burial were private. Hallowell & James Funeral Home, Countryside, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial may be made to the American Diabetes, Association, 6 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, Ill. 60602.

Harold J. Schulz, 86
Harold J. Schulz of Huilsburg passed away Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000 at Samaritan Health Center, West Bend at the age of 86 years.
He was born Jan. 26, 1913 in Herman to parents Emil and Matilda Schulz. He is preceded in death by his parents. Harold is survived by his brothers, Raymond (Ruth) Schulz of Hartford and Ruben (Dorothy) Schulz of Iron Ridge and his sister Ruth (Orville) Plageman of Horicon.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation was Saturday, Jan. 8 from noon to 1 p.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Huilsburg. Funeral service followed at the church at 1 p.m. Interment at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery.

Betty A. Wenzel, 77
Betty A. Wenzel (nee Grace) of North Fort Meyers, Fla. formerly of Hartford passed away on Sunday, Jan. 9 at the Calusa Harbor Nursing Home in Fort Meyers, Fla. She was 77 years old.
She was born Jan. 13, 1922 in Hartford to Edward and Permelia (nee Tower) Grace. She married Clarence Wenzel on March 7, 1942 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford.
Betty was a librarian at the Hartford Library for many years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Oxford.
Betty is survived by her husband, Clarence; a son, James (Patricia) of Dallas; a grandson, Robert (Angie) Wenzel of Springfield, Ore.; a sister, Margaret Braun of Hartford; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Jan. 13 from 12 p.m. until time of service at the Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford.. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Roy Poltrock officiating. Interment at Union Cemetery in Hartford.
Memorials to the Community Life Lutheran Church in Cape Coral, Fla. would be appreciated.

Thelma Lois Worby, 79
Thelma Lois Worby of West Bend passed away on Jan. 4, 2000 at the age of 79 years at Cedar Campus Health Care Center.
Thelma was born on Sept. 29, 1920 in Los Angeles, Calif. to William and Margaret (nee Hassel) Bigelow. Thelma served as a WAC in the US Army during WWII. She was employed as an inspector of electrical products.
Thelma is survived by her daughters Laurel (Bob) Morris, Wendy (Ray) LaCoursier, sons Scott (Cathy) Worby and Lee Worby, sister Margie Bell and special friend Norma Schmidt. Thelma is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordy Worby.
Memorials to Threshold of West Bend appreciated. Private services were held.

Louise H. Merriman, 82
Louise H. Merriman of Hayward passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2000 at Mequon Care Center in Mequon after a brief illness at the age of 82 years.
She was born June 24, 1917 in Champagne, Ill. to the parents of Gustave and Minnie Thelaner.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband William who died Dec. 31, 1999.
She is survived by her daughters, Jane (Jack) Derr of West Bend and Carol (Skip) Schwind of Hubertus; her grandchildren, Lynn Derr, Wende (Mike) Prucha, William (Allison) Schwind and Carrie Schwind; great grandson Carson Prucha; her sister Florence (Chuck) Ulrich, her brother Joe Thelaner, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Private services will be held.
The Berndt Funeral Home is serving the family.

Walter A. Becker, 96
Walter A. Becker of West Bend, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center West Bend, at the age of 96.
He was born May 19,1903, in Kewaskum, to the late Ernest and Ida (nee Heise) Becker, and married Hazel C. Hess on Oct. 30, 1935, in Waukegen, Ill.
Following their marriage, the couple settled in West Bend.
Prior to his retirement in 1968, Walter was employed as a mechanic for the Washington County Highway Department for over 40 years.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, West Bend, where he volunteered many hours of service.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, Henry (Tootie) of Kewaskum; three sisters-in-law, Kathryn McQuade of Omaha, Neb., Adella Hess and Ivah Rosenthal, both of West Bend; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Bill and Karl; two sisters, Selma Schaeper and Clara Dins; four sisters-in-law, Verna Hess, Mabel Becker, Mary Hess and Hilda Becker, and five brothers-in-law, Clarence Hess, Ervin Hess, William Hess, Harvey Rosenthal and John McQuade.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 14, at noon at St. John's Lutheran Church. Pastor George Mumm will officiate, and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation at the church only will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.
