Roy E. Sauer, 71
Roy E. Sauer of West Bend, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Wauwatosa, at the age of 71.
He was born May 8, 1929, in the town of Addison Center to the late Paul and Theckla (nee Gundrum) Sauer, and served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea.
Following his discharge, he was employed at Eaton Corp. in Milwaukee for over 26 years.
Roy was a member of the Fr. Casper Rehrl Council 1964 Knights of Columbus, the West Bend Lodge 1398 L.O.O.M. and the Fred A. Schaefer Post 1393 VFW.
Survivors include two brothers, Silverius (Ruth) of Green Bay and David (Carole) of Oconomowoc; a sister, Sr. Lucille S.S.S.F. of Milwaukee, and a sister-in-law, Virginia Hughes of West Bend; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were a brother, Gilbert; a niece, Ann Cleary, and a great-nephew, Ryan Voigt.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Angels Church, West Bend, with Father Jerry Repenshek presiding.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 to 6:45 p.m.

Margaret O. Naumann
Margaret O. Naumann (nee Kohl) formerly Johann of West Bend died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000 at her residence at the age of 78.
She was born Dec. 16, 1921 in Kohlsville to the late Adam and Lydia (nee Benedum) Kohl and married Werner T. Johann on Jan, 28, 1939 in West Bend. Together they operated Johann Sand and Gravel. Werner preceded her in death on June 15, 1969.
On Sept. 15, 1972 she married Sylvester "Fat" Naumann at St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed participating in various card and sewing clubs.
She is survived by her husband Sylvester; five children, Barbara (Roger) Landvatter, Kathleen (Larry) Mezera, Mary (David) Wolf, Sherry (Richard) Prost and Michael Johann, all of West Bend; four stepchildren, Darrell Naumann, Adrian Naumann, Bruce (Phyllis) Naumann and Glenn (Joanne) Naumann, all of West Bend. She is further survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Irene Kohl of Kewaskum; a son-in-law, Ken (Chris) Berkel of Rubicon; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Johann-Berkel; a granddaughter, Jennifer Johann-Berkel; and a brother, Helmut Kohl.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Bend, with Rev. David Schoob officiating. Burial will follow at Washington County memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday, at the church only, from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Roman A. Holl
Roman A. Holl of West Bend died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000 at his residence at the age of 55.
He was born Oct. 28, 1944 in West Bend to Raymond and Laverna (nee Grainer) Holl. After graduating from Slinger High School he served with the U.S. Army and the reserves.
Roman was employed at the former Kasten Manufacturing in Allenton and at Regal Ware for a tine before working as a machinist at Weasler Engineering for nine years prior to retiring due to health reasons. He was a member of Pro-Life Wisconsin and active in Human Concern Projects at St. Frances Cabrini Church.
He is survived by two children, Romie (Kris) of Campbellsport and Richard of West Bend; and two grandchildren, Joshua and Krystal. He is further survived by one sister, Lucille (Ronald) Zettler of West Bend; and three brothers, Eugene of Waupaca, Lawrence (Kathy) of Kewaskum and Leo of Waupun.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2000 at St. Frances Cabrini Church with Fr. Jeff Haines presiding. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday at the church only from 11 a.m. until the time of the services.

Marcella E. Faess, 82
Funeral services were held on Friday at Schramka-Gunther Funeral Home in Cedarburg for Marcella E. Faess (nee Lindberg), 82, who died on Jan. 11, 2000. Burial was at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg. Schramka-Gunther Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Survivors include: husband Henry Faess; daughters Nancy (Richard) Czarnecki, Sally (James) Uselding, Bonnie (Robert) Rutta, Jean (Gary) Cutts, Marilyn (Chuck) Bongard, Sue (John) Lamb and Carol (Phil) Nelson; son Thomas Faess; sister Angelus Kranz.
She is further survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Larry D. Buchanan, 50
Larry D. Buchanan, 50, of Theresa, formerly of West Bend, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at Hartford Memorial Hospital, Hartford.
He was born April 25, 1949, in Newark, Ohio, to George and Esther (nee English) Buchanan.
Following high school, he entered the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany.
After his discharge he worked as a hearing and air conditioning technician.
Larry loved to travel as a musician and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his parents; a daughter, Alicia Jean Buchanan of West Bend; a sister, Debbie (Roger) Holcomb and a niece, Reva Holcomb, both of Newark, Ohio; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were two aunts.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Jan. 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with Rev. Jeffrey Schimp officiating.
The family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. until the time of services.
Raymond H. Kertscher, 73
Raymond Hilbert Kertscher, 73, of West Bend, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
He was born Sept. 13, 1926, in the town of Farmington, to the late John and Frieda (nee Nitzsche) Kertscher, and married Ruby A. Meyer on July 31, 1948, at St. Martin's E&R Church of Fillmore.
Ray was employed with West Bend Ready Mix, West Bend Sand and Stone for over 40 years, retiring at 65.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting at his cottage at Pine Lake, and playing his accordion for family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Linda (Sherman) Hollister, LuAnn (Mark) Larson, Lois (Perry) Ebersold and LaVern Kertscher; a granddaughter, Amanda Hollister; a brother, Wilmer (Ann); two sisters-in-law, Dolores and Bernice Kertscher; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Melvin and Allen.
Ray was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and Local Engineers 139.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend. Pastor David Schoob will officiate, and interment will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials are appreciated.
Ray will be greatly missed by his wife and daughters, extended family and friends.
Daniel L. Lemke, 82
Daniel Lloyd Lemke, 82, of Campbellsport, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at his residence.
He was born in Chicago, Ill. on May 7, 1917, to the late John and Margaret (Fischer) Lemke, and lived in Des Plaines, Ill. where he graduated from Main High School.
On Jan. 28, 1939, he married Junerose M. Wilke at St. Lucas Lutheran Church, Kewaskum.
He and his wife farmed in the Lake Bernice and Wayne area until 1952 when they moved to Campbellsport. They owned and operated the Red Bell Market for several years.
He was employed at the Gilbert Shoe Factory, Barton Washing Machine Co. and for many years for Wm. Bauman Trucking as a milk hauler and as a bus driver. Later he pursued his carpenter trade with Lemke Builders until retiring in 1978 due to ill health.
He was a member of the Campbellsport United Christian Church, formerly serving on the church council, was a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1946 and the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department since 1956. He served as secretary of Union Cemetery since 1967, and was an active member of the Campbellsport Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marlene (Sherwood) Haas of Reinholds, Pa.; two sons, John C. (Arline) of Campbellsport and Marvis I. of Waukesha; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law; a brother-in-law; cousins; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were a sister, two brothers, a grandchild, two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Campbellsport United Christian Church. Rev. Stevens Hilyard will officiate, and burial will be Wednesday in Union Cemetery, Campbellsport.
Visitation at the church will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the United Christian Church or Hospice Hope.

Margarete F. Schiessl, 90
A funeral service was held on Monday at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Thiensville for Margarete F. Schiessl, 90, who died on Jan. 15, 2000. Schramka-Densow Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Survivors include: son Frank (Dorothy) Schiessl; daughter Shirley (Gerhard) Richarz; daughter-in-law Christina Schiessl; grandchildren Walter (Linda) Schiessl, Linda Antgyi, Sandra Pintor, Margarete (Mark) Wagner, Jody Kelly, Frank Richarz, Jeffery (Missy) Richarz, Jennifer Kiepert.
Further survived by six great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Edward S. Kraemer Sr., 66
Funeral services were held Tuesday evening at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 Washington Ave., Grafton, for Town of Grafton resident Edward S. Kraemer Sr., 66, who died Jan. 13, 2000 at Mequon Care Center.
Rev. John Suelflow officiated at the service, with burial at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Grafton.
Arrangements were handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton.
Mr. Kraemer was born in Milwaukee on June 4, 1933, son of George and Ann (nee Bendall) Kraemer. He married Marlene Kaul on Aug. 27, 1060 at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Mr. Kraemer was a graduate of Port Washington High School, and worked for 38 years at Power Products in Grafton. He was a member of UAW Local 20, and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife Marlene Kraemer of Grafton; son Edward Kraemer Jr. of Grafton; daughter Christine (Kenneth) Oakley of Lake Jackson, Texas; brothers John Kraemer of Milwaukee, Ken (Sharon) Kraemer of Fredonia and Robert (Betty) Kraemer of Glenbeulah; other relatives and friends.
