Ryan C. Kirst, 22
Funeral services were held yesterday for Ryan C. Kirst, 22, who died unexpectedly from heart failure on Jan. 16, 2000. Interment was at St. Margaret’s Cemetery in Neenah. Westgor Funeral Home, Neenah, assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Kirst was born Sept. 22, 1977 in Port Washington, son of Kevin and Connie (nee Lallensack) Kirst. He graduated from Neenah High School and was attending UW-Oshkosh, majoring in management information systems. His family remembers him as a man of few words, but when he did speak, his words were well chosen.
Survivors include: parents Kevin and Connie Kirst of Neenah; brothers Christopher Kirst of Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. and Nathan Kirst of Neenah; girlfriend Stephanie Sell of Neenah; grandparents Rosalia Kirst of Grafton, and Edward and Rose Lallensack of Port Washington; aunts and uncles Char and Mike Karrels of Grafton, Greg and Teri Kirst of Green Bay, Randy and Charise Kirst of West Bend, Tony and Bonnie Kirst of Port Washington, Mike Kirst of Grafton, Mary Kirst of Port Washington, Tim and Wendy Kirst of Belgium, Bob and Margie Lallensack ofFredonia, Joanne and Al Prom of Newburg, Shirley Lallensack of Milwaukee, Dick Lallensack of Grafton, Gary and Jill Lallensack of Appleton and Harry and Elaine Lallensack of Fredonia; 40 cousins, other realtives and friends.
He was preceded in death by grandfather Charles R. Kirst and aunt Theresa Lallensack.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in his name.

Lorenz “Lory” Fischer Sr., 89
Lorenz “Lory” Fischer Sr., longtime resident of the Thiensville-Mequon area, passed away on Jan. 8, 2000. He was 89.
Mr. Fischer had been living at Cedar Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cedarburg for the past month.
Mr. Fischer was a custom-designer of restaurant equipment for Fein Brothers of Milwaukee until his retirement. He was well-known as a skilled cabinet maker and a wood refinisher.
Mr. Fischer and his wife, Pearl, shared a love of working on unique furniture and upholstery projects.
Local residents would often see “Lory” enjoying a ride on his red motor scooter on bright, sunny days. He also shared bits of quiet wisdom with his closest friends. Mr. Fischer will be missed by his many caring acquaintances, neighbors and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl, in 1984.
He is survived by a son, Lorenz Fischer Jr. of Milwaukee.

Alexander A. Wenninger, 83
Alexander A. Wenninger, 83, of Allenton, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at the Hartford Care Center, Hartford.
He wass born Feb. 18, 1916, in Allenton, to the late Jacob and Mary (nee Engelhardt) Wenninger, and married Violet Mauer (nee Jensen) on July 2, 1976, in Milwaukee.
Alex was an independent painter.
He was a member of the Hartford Senior Friends and Resurrection Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ralph (Kathy) Wenninger of Hustisford and Steven (Joyce) Wenninger of Allenton; three daughters, Rita (John) Boegel of Kewaskum, Charlotte (Herbert) Mueller of Hartford and Beverly (Allen) Schweitzer of West Bend; a stepdaughter, Mary (fiance Roger Reese) Schmidt of Elm Grove; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Yogerst of West Bend; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, Helen Weis; his second wife, Irene Katzenberger; a brother, Clarence; a sister, Olive Doll, and a step-granddaughter, Devon Schmidt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Sunday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church, Allenton. Father Richard Breitbach will officiate, and interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Allenton.
Visitation at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, will be Sunday from 3 to 6:15 p.m.
Memorials to Hartford Senior Friends are appreciated.

Frances I. Aberwald, 88
Frances I. Aberwald, nee Kimla, of West Bend, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, at the age of 88.
She was born June 28, 1911, in Wabeno, to the late Joseph and Mary (nee Kopecky) Kimla, and married George Aberwald at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend.
Following their marriage, she was a switchboard operator for Wisconsin Bell Telephone Co. for many years, retiring Nov. 27, 1956.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sisters, Ursula M. Buchelt and Marie A. Pelke, both of West bend; a nephew, Paul Pelke of Reno, Nev.; other relatives and friends.
She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend, and a retired member of the Wisconsin Bell Pioneers.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Father Gerald Brittain officiated, and interment followed the Mass.
The Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, assisted the family.

Jeffrey M. “Jeff” Jahnke, 35
A funeral service was held Wednesday at Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend for Jeffrey M. “Jeff” Jahnke, 35, who died on Jan. 9, 2000. Rev. John H. Paustian officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend. Interment took place at Washington County Memorial Park of West Bend.
Mr. Jahnke was born Sept. 17, 1964 in Port Washington, son of Kenneth and Pauline (nee Stockfleth) Jahnke. He married Lori K. Watson on Sept. 16, 1992 in Branson, Mo.
He was raised in the West Bend area and attended Slinger High School. He was employed as a carpenter for Thierfelder Builder’s Inc. of West Bend and Cedarburg for more than 18 years.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of West Bend and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include: wife Lori Jahnke of West Bend; daughter Jennifer Jahnke of West Bend; son David Jahnke of West Bend; parents Pauline (Wayne) Thierfelder of Town of West Bend and Kenneth Jahnke of Hartwell, Ga.; parents-in-law Loren and Evelyn Watson of Viroqua; grandmother Bernice Thierfelder, Mequon; brothers Greg (Shawn) Jahnke of Kewaskum and Mike (Jennifer) Jahnke of Madison; nephew Jason Jahnke of Kewaskum. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Memorials to the Jahnke children’s college fund are appreciated.

Mabel P. Klug, 87
Funeral services will be held this evening at Friedens Evangelical Church, 454 N. Milwaukee St., Port Washington for Mabel P. Klug, 87, who died Jan. 10, 2000 at the Harbor Club residential center in Port Washington.
Visitation will be at the church from 4:30 p.m., with services to start at 6:30 p.m. Rev. Mark Voll will officiate, with burial to follow at Union Cemetery, Port Washington.
Mrs. Klug was born in Port Washington on June 20, 1912, daughter of Julius and Pauline (nee Beimborn) Moths. She married Clarence Klug on June 6, 1936, and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Klug was a graduate of Port Washington High School, a lifelong member of Friedens Evangelical Church and a longtime active member of the Ladies Aid.
Survivors include daughter Donna (Harry) Dowe of Cedarburg; son Wayne (Laura) Klug of Byron, Mich.; brothers Lloyd (Dorothy) Moths of Port Washington and Ollie Moths of Milwaukee; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorials to Friedens Evangelical Church in Port Washington would be appreciated.

Norbert M. "Norbie" Klos
Norbert M. "Norbie" Klos, 79, of N1297 Highway 57 Random Lake, died Saturday Jan. 21, 2000 at his residence.
He was born May 4, 1920 in the town of Belgium to the late Nick and Catherine Schueller Klos.
On Jan. 25, 1947 he married Clarita Mueller at St. Nicholas Church in Dacada. She preceded him in death on April 26, 1992.
Norbie was a material handler at Kohler Co. for 27 years. He retired in 1982 and then worked for K&K Amusements for four years. he was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Lakes Church, St. Nicholas Chapel, and also belonged to Holy Name Society and the Kohler 25th Century Club for 19 years.
He enjoyed playing cards, especially sheepshead, attending the Kohler 25th Century Club, supporting his grandchildren's activities, refinishing furniture and buying new cars.
He is survived by one daughter, Carol (Steven) Risch of Random Lake; three sons, Ronald (Rose Ann) of West Bend, Roger of Cedar Grove and Donald of Florida; three grandchildren, Melanie and Joshua Risch and Michelle Klos; five sisters, Harriet Tholl, Camella Hubing and Rita (Bob) Goeshey, all of Belgium, and Alberta Caravaugh and Elvira Hetzel of Port Washington; two brothers, Quintin (Dorothy) of Belgium and Stanley (Mary) of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; two daughters; one sister and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. from the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave., Belgium, to Our Lady of the Lakes Church, St. Nicholas Chapel for Mass at 7:30 p.m. with Father Richard Cerpich officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
The Eernisse Funeral Home in Belgium is assisting the family.

Esther H. Fischer
Esther H. Fischer, (nee Battermann) of Newburg died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000 at St. Joseph's Community Hospital at the age of 84.
She was born Oct. 22, 1915 in Milwaukee to the late Henry and Helen (nee Klatt) Battermann Sr. and was married to Richard W. Fischer in Newburg on June 7, 1941. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1970.
Esther was an active and long-time member of St. John's Lutheran Church Newburg and a member of St. John's Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by five children, Richard K. Fischer of West Bend, Donald (Julie) Fischer of Bath, Maine, Judith (Robert) Fraundorf of Port Washington, Thomas (Nancy) Fischer of Virgil, S.D. and Jane (David) Preiss of West Bend; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Lucille) Battermann of Madison; four sisters-in-law, Vivian (Lawrence) Stockhausen of West Bend, Blanche Battermann of Milwaukee, Eleanor Fischer of West Bend and Eleanor Ganson of Sun City, Ariz.; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Jr., Walter and George.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Newburg. Rev. Jon Baumann will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church only from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Graceland Cemetery, Milwaukee.
Memorials to St. John's building fund are appreciated. The Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.

Anita M. Degeler
Anita M. Degeler, nee Margraf, of Slinger, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at her residence, at the age of 83.
She was born Feb. 29, 1916, in the town of Polk, to the late Philip and Katherine (nee Scherr) Margraf, and married Lyle C. Degeler on May 6, 1943, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Slinger.
She was a cook at Shady Side Restaurant for over 20 years, retiring in 1971.
Survivors include her husband; five children, Kenneth (Patricia) of Warrens, Ronald of Sturgeon Bay, Wayne (Victoria) of Slinger, "Sue" Dorlis (James) Vogel of Maplewood and David of Slinger; a sister, Rachel Margraf of West Bend; on Lyle's side, a sister-in-law, Dorlis Neisar of Muscoda and a brother-in-law, Glenn (Bernice) Degeler of Hustisford; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were five brothers and three sisters.
She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Slinger.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 28, at 7:30 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home of Slinger. Father Robert J. Bales will officiate, and cremation will take place at Parkview Cremations of Fond du Lac.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials to St. Peter's Catholic Church of Slinger are appreciated.
