Marie L. Schmidt
Marie L. Schmidt, nee Roecker, of Hartford, died peacefully Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Wellington Place at the age of 85.
She was born Nov. 4, 1914, in the town of Addison, to the late Charles and Elsie (nee Basler) Roecker.
Marie was employed at Bloomberg's of Menomonee Falls in the early 1970s.
She played the kazoo in the Kitchenaire Band, and was a member of Hartford Senior Friends and St. John's United Church of Christ.
Marie enjoyed crocheting, loved music, and played the organ and piano all her life.
She will also be remembered for her butterscotch pies.
Survivors include three sons, Roger of Milwaukee, Gerald (Sandra) of Virginia and Kenneth (Carol) of the town of Polk; two daughters, Darlene Watson of Arizona and Sandra (Paul) Forgach of Brown Deer; a brother, George (Sylvia) Roecker of West Bend; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and many dear and special friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 27 at noon at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association are appreciated.
LeRoy R. Liedtke
A funeral service was held on Jan. 25, 2000 at St. Paul Lutheran Church for LeRoy R. Liedtke, 76, who died on Jan. 21, 2000. Rev. Melvin Moss officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton. Burial was at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Grafton.
Mr. Liedtke was born Aug. 30, 1923 in Milwaukee, son of Edwin and Elsa (nee Knauth) Liedtke. He married Ruby Thompson on May 5, 1951 in Wisconsin and worked as a machine operator for Milprint, Inc for 44 years. He attended St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: wife Ruby Liedtke of Grafton; daughters Janine (Hal) Henes of Grafton, Cheryl Talatzke of Hartland and Gloria Liedtke of Milwaukee; son Bob (Mary) Liedtke of Grafton; sister Judy Cameron of Huntsville, Ala.; brothers Clyde Liedtke of Milwaukee and Ron (Penny) Liedtke of Sussex; grandchildren Bailey Liedtke, Riley Liedtke and Kyle Talazko.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Malinda O. Zautcke
Malinda O. Zautcke, nee Bretschneider, of West Bend, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, at the age of 93.
She was born Feb. 28, 1906, in Fredonia, to the late Ernst and Hulda (nee Kirchhofer) Bretschneider, and married Milton Zautcke on Feb. 5, 1928. He passed away on Aug. 21, 1972.
Malinda worked as an inspector at Amity Leather for 18 years, retiring in 1971.
She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend, and belonged to the St. John's Ladies Aid for many years. She also loved to knit and crochet and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include five children, June (Ivin) Thompson of Zephyrhills, Fla., Doris (Robert) Tock, Allen (Lucille), Edward (Roseann), and Ethel (Walter) Carter, all of West Bend; 24 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; two sisters, Leona Klemp of Grafton and Mabel (Hilbert) Haack of Fond du Lac; a brother-in-law, Ervin (Charlotte) Trapp of Milwaukee, and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a grandson, Brad Thompson; a great-grandson, Dean Bronkhorst; and a sister, Helen Trapp.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 3 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend. Rev. George Mumm will officiate, and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation at the church only will be Wednesday from noon until the time of services.

Clarence L. Schoenbeck
Clarence L. Schoenbeck, a lifelong resident of the West Bend area, was born to Eternal Life on Friday, Jan. 21, 2000 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center at the age of 91.
He was born on Oct. 10, 1908 in the town of Trenton to the late Frank and Katherine (nee Paff) Schoenbeck.
Clarence proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II in England, France and Belgium later receiving a Letter of Commendation from his superior officers for his gallant service in the care of wounded prior to medical personnel arriving on the battlefield. Following his discharge, he returned to employment at the West Bend Co., where he worked for 46 years prior to retiring in 1973.
On June 21, 1947, he was united in marriage to Viola A. Schladweiler at St. Michael's Church in St. Michaels. She preceded him in death on Sept. 27, 1987.
He was a member of the Fred A. Schaefer Post #1393 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the 25-Year Club at the West Bend Co.
Clarence was the beloved father of Joel (Nancy) of West Bend, Jean (Michael) Rogers of Slinger, Jon (Mary Jo) of Milwaukee and Jeryl (Linda) of West Bend; the loving grandfather of Jessica, Timothy, Nathan and Elizabeth; other survivors include two sisters, Lucille Held of West Bend and Bernice Anderson of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Arnold; and two sisters, Erna and Leona.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Father Jerry Repenshek will be the presiding and interment will follow at Holy Angels Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday prior to the services.
A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The family prefers memorials to the American Lung Association, the National World War II Memorial in Washington D.C. or the Holy Angels Building Fund.
Wilmer A. Kloehn
Funeral services will be held today for Cedarburg native Wilmer A. Kloehn, 75, who died Jan. 20, 2000 at St. Joseph Community Hospital, West Bend.
Visitation will be at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg from 4 p.m., with Rev. Randolph Raasch officiating at the funeral, starting at 7 p.m.
Burial will be at Zur Ruhe Cemetery, Cedarburg.
Arrangements are being handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton.
Mr. Kloehn was born March 25, 1924, son of Adolph and Adelia (nee Hespe) Kloehn.
Both preceded him in death. He went on to marry Irene Winter, who survives him.
Mr. Kloehn was a lifelong farmer, and attended First Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include sister Meta Bartelt of Thiensville; brother-in-law Harold (Mabel) Winter of Hubertus; sister-in-law Susan Kloehn of Dania, Fla.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ruth Herziger
A funeral Mass was held Tuesday at Divine Word Catholic Church, Cedarburg, for Ruth Herziger (nee Armbruster), 79, who died Jan. 20, 2000 at Cedar Springs Health and Rehabilitation, Cedarburg.
Father George Gajdos officiated at the Mass.
Inurnment is at Zur Ruhe Cemetery.
Mrs. Herziger was born Dec. 13, 1920, daughter of George and Jennie (nee Barth) Armbruster.
She was a fourth generation Hilgen, one of the founding families of Cedarburg.
She married Henry ‘Hankö Herziger, and he preceded her in death. A homemaker, Mrs. Herziger loved painting and gardening.
She attended Divine Word Catholic Church, Cedarburg.
Survivors include daughters Betty (Kurt) Schanz of Cedarburg and Kathy (Michael) Weber of Milwaukee; sister Helen Bruederle of Cedarburg; grandchildren Derek A. Schanz of Cedarburg, Denise Schanz of Milwaukee, Joseph ‘Josh' Weber of Milwaukee and Tracy Weber of Milwaukee; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by sister Lillian Rix, grandchildren Henry Karl Schanz and Michelle ‘Shelly' Weber.
Spiritual offerings for Masses would be appreciated.
Gerald V. Baker
A funeral service will be held today at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church for Gerald V. Baker, 60, who died on Jan. 22, 2000.
Fr. Ed Wawrzyniakowski officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton.
Burial was in Kennan, Wis.
Mr. Baker was born April 9, 1939 in Kennan, the son of Bertram and Florence (nee Fiebig) Baker. He married Karen Lasica on Oct. 12, 1968 in Wisconsin.
He was employed as a forklift operator at A. O. Smith. He worked for Shady Lady in Grafton as well as helping with the family business, Clay Bakers Ceramics.
He was a former member of Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include: wife: Karen Baker, Grafton; sisters Bernice (Maurice) Halmstad, Eileen (Milo) Madson, Celia (Richie) Liebelt, Carole (Jim) Peterson, Beverly (Ralph) Watral, Karen (Bob) Doremire and Alice (George) Valiga; brothers Harold (Bertha) Baker, Delmar (Ruth) Baker, Donald (Mary Jane) Baker, Albert Baker and Lynn (Patricia) Baker; mother-in-law Virginia Lasica; brother-in-law Karl Lasica.
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bettie Janisse
Private services were held for Bettie Janisse, 75, who died on Jan. 23, 2000. Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Janisse was born Aug. 23, 1924 in Barneveld, daughter of Clarence and Lena (nee Jabs) Simons.
She married Norman Janisse and worked as a homemaker.
She attended St. Paul Lutheran Church, Graftpm.
Survivors include: husband Norman Janisse of Grafton; mother Lena Simons of Dodgeville; daughters Crystal (Bill) Bliese of Lansing, Mich., Nicole (James) Krutke of Richfield and Jae (Vince) Schwartz of Port Washington; son Dennis (Dawn) Janisse of West Bend; brother Vernon (Dorothy) Simons of Madison; grandchildren Heather Bliese, Holly Bliese, Erick Janisse, Jeremy Janisse, Jodi Janisse, Jacob Krutke, James Krutke, Alexandria Schwartz and Shelby Schwartz; great-grandchildren Sebastian Janisse and Skylar Schafer.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Simons.
Marie Kathleen L'Anglois
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Jan. 26 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grafton for Marie Kathleen L’Anglois, 96, who died on Jan. 21, 2000.
Fr. Mike Barrett officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Milwaukee.
Mrs. L’Anglois was born July 14, 1903 in Kempster, daughter of Albert and Tillie (nee Schutz) Kelly.
She married Steve L’Anglois and was cofounder of L’Anglois Contractors Building Movers of Milwaukee.
Survivors include: daughters Phyllis Biondo of Quartz Hill, Calif. and Mardel (Lloyd) Habersetzer of Grafton; son Dale (Beverly) L’Anglois of Port Washington, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Steve, her son Delmar and a brother Kenneth Kelly.
