Lauretta H. Schaefer
Lauretta H. Schaefer, nee Chesak, of West Bend, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, at the age of 83.
She was born May 5, 1916, in West Bend, to the late Alfred and Mary (nee Heindl) Chesak, and on Sept. 21, 1937, married Armond E. Schaefer at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend.
Survivors include her husband; two children, Helen (Ted) Haasch of New Berlin and Robert (Linda) of Prior Lake, Minn.; two grandchildren, Susan (Matt) Retzer and Jonathan Haasch, both of Milwaukee; a sister, Rosalie Klumb of West Bend; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Albert of Horicon and Edna (Art) Sepersky of West Bend; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a sister, Dorothy Weber.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Feb. 11 at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Rev. Jerry Repenshek will be the presider, and burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.
Visitation at the church only will be Friday from noon until the time of services.
The family prefers memorials to the Holy Angels School Trust Fund.
The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.

Robert Flaiani
Robert Flaiani, 60, of Toms River, N.J., died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, N.J.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and had formerly resided in Sheboygan and Freehold, N.J. before moving to Toms River four years ago.
He was a district manager for several years and had been affiliated with The West Bend Co. for over 20 years. Thereafter, he was a self-employed salesman.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Cangemi Flaiani of Toms River; two sons, Robert Jr. and Frank, both of Hartford, Wis.; a daughter, Terry Zingaro of Manchester Township, N.J.; a brother, Ronald of Gurnee, Ill; two grandchildren, Lyndsey and Matthew; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, N.J.

Kathleen E. Zimmerman
A funeral service will be held tonight at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg for Kathleen E. Zimmerman, 48, who died on Feb. 6, 2000. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Rev. Pete Peterson will officiate at the ceremony. Burial will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
Ms. Zimmerman was born May 16, 1951 in Milwaukee, daughter of Eugene and Beverly (nee Praefke) Zimmerman.
She worked as an administrative assistant for Schwarz Pharma in Mequon and was previously employed by Gilbert Shoe Co. and Sen. Robert Kasten Jr.
Survivors include: mother Beverly Zimmerman of Cedarburg; brother Mark (Rita) Zimmerman; uncle Elmer (Rosemary) Praefke; cousin Brian Praefke; nephew Eric Zimmerman; niece Randi Overgaard; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Zimmerman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Froedtert Transplant Clinic or the American Diabetes Association are appreciated.

Clara A. Dietz
Clara A. Dietz, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, West Bend.
She was born Dec. 20, 1915, in Hogarty, to the late Charles and Nellie (Thomas) Swanson, and in 1936, married Theodore Paulus. She then married Earl German in 1955 until he passed away. In 1965 she married John Dietz.
Clara was a member of Hogarty Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed traveling, visiting people and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Clara was also fond of reindeer and genealogy.
Survivors include two children, Roger (Ria) Paulus of Oshkosh and Marie (Gilbert) Graef of Richfield; two grandchildren, Carol (Paul) Purgett of Jackson and Dale Graef of Milwaukee; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Hitt of Antigo and Florence Schroeder of Wausau; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands Clara was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 14, at Hogarty Presbyterian Church, Hogarty. Rev. Stephen Davis officiated, and interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Hogarty.
The Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood, assisted the family.

Lucille A. Goeden
Lucille A. Goeden, nee Zimmel, of Allenton, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at the Cedar Lake Home Campus of West Bend, at the age of 90.
She was born March 23, 1909, in Waubeno, to the late Alfred and Ella (nee Christnacht) Zimmel, and was raised in Allenton.
After her marriage to Norman N. Goeden on Aug. 3, 1929, at Holy Hill Parish, Hubertus, the couple lived in Allenton.
In 1943 they owned and operated Goeden's Tavern, later known as the Allenton Inn. They moved to Tomahawk in 1964, running Goeden's Hideout for over five years. They moved to West Bend in 1989.
Her husband passed away June 18,1994.
Survivors include three children, Ruby (Rex) Weyer of Allenton, Jean (Jim) Elder of Hubertus and Carol (Melvin) Gullickson of Handcock; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Breunig of Roxburg; a brother, Frederick (Lucille) of Allenton; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was a member of Resurrection Parish of Allenton and a past member of Holy Angels Catholic Church of West Bend.
Closing of the casket prayers will be held Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 7:30 p.m. at Resurrection Parish of Allenton. Fr. Richard C. Breitbach will officiate, and interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, town of Addison, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Memorials are appreciated.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Cedar Lake Home Campus for the care and consideration given to their mother.

Sarah D’Angelo
Funeral services were held last Wednesday at Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton, for Saukville resident Sarah D’Angelo, 99, who died Feb. 4, 2000 at St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee.
Services were led by Father Karl Acker, with burial at Saukville Union Cemetery.
Mrs. D’Angelo was born in Racine on May 1, 1900, daughter of the late Jorgen and Ida Pedersen.
She married Harry D’Angelo, who preceded her in death. Mrs. D’Angelo was a homemaker, raising four children.
Survivors include sons Louis Lasch of Saukville, Phillip (Carol) D’Angelo of Sebastopol, Calif., Harry (Nancy) D’Angelo of San Jose, Calif. and Matthew (Donna) D’Angelo of Saukvile; sister Ruth Fox of Milwaukee; brother Gordon Pedersen of Seattle; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.

Dorothy Bernice Daliege
Funeral services were held Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, for Dorothy Bernice Daliege, 84, who died Feb. 9, 2000 at Ruth Hospice in Milwaukee.
Rev. Dale Erickson led the memorial service, with burial at Immanuel Cemetery, Cedarburg. Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, assisted the family.
Mrs. Daliege was born Sept. 13, 1915, the daughter of Carl and Charlotte (nee Gudex) Kranke. She married the late Walter Daliege on March 24, 1936 in Cedarburg.
Mrs. Daliege worked as a homemaker, and attended Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include daughters Carol (Carl) Kletzien of Cedarburg and Lois Jeremiah of Cedarburg; grandchildren Shane (Nancy) Kletzien of Port Washington, Steve (Amy) Kletzien of Grafton, Sue (Dave) Clemens of Grafton, Sherri (Thomas) Hartwig of Grafton; Scott (Pam) Kletzien of Waldo, Spencer Kletzien of Cedarburg, Craig Jeremiah of Ozark, Mo. and Ross (Jennifer) Jeremiah of Cedarburg; 11 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters.
Memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg would be appreciated.

Genevieve M. Kurtz, 80
Genevieve M. Kurtz, 80, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at Hebron Oaks, with members of her family at her side. Her death came following a stroke and a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born March 14, 1919, in Fond du Lac County, to the late William and Frances Thompson.
Genevieve graduated from Fond du Lac High School, attended the University of Wisconsin and married Arthur R. Kurtz on June 10, 1939.
She and her husband lived in Weyauwega, and later West Bend where Arthur taught vocational agriculture in the public schools. They moved to Madison in 1951 where Arthur joined the staff of the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture until retiring in 1981.
Genevieve, in addition to being a loving wife and mother, was an active volunteer, serving generously for many years at Meriter Hospital and at the Oakwood nursing home. At Oakwood she is still remembered for her inspirational and spiritually centered group sessions for the elderly.
She was an active member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, the P.E.O., Friends of the Arboretum and the University of Wisconsin Daughters of Demeter. She was also an ardent fan of UW athletics.
Genevieve enjoyed going for long walks in the Arboretum, and attending numerous Elderhostels. She and Arthur traveled extensively by auto in the U.S.A., always priding herself on visiting every state except Alaska.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, James (Becki) of Middleton and David (Peggy) of Everett, Wash.; a daughter, Kathleen (Ken) McNaught of Fort Collins, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Tania (Kevin) Ishaug of Minneapolis, Minn., Melissa (John) Omsted of Barneveld, Nickolas of Madison, Sarah and Molly McNaught of Fort Collins, Colo. and Julie and Andrew Kurtz of Everett; two sisters, Sadie (Laverne) Roll of Racine and Arlene (Howard) Bloedorn of Milwaukee; two sisters-in-law, Bette and Anita Thompson of Fond du Lac.
Preceding her in death were three brothers, Marvin, Wayne and Delbert, and a 10-month-old infant in 1944.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 4018 Mineral Point Road, Madison.
Visitation at the church will be one hour prior to the time of service.
Memorials may be made to the Oakwood Foundation, the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Foundation, Hospice Care Inc. of Madison, or the charity of the donor's choice.
The family thanks those who provided the expert loving care she received at Meriter Hospital and Oakwood.
The Cress Funeral Home, Madison, is serving the family.
