Gilbert Reindl, 84
Gilbert Reindl, 84, of Kewaskum, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.
He was born Feb. 13, 1916, in the town of Kewaskum, to the late George and Theresa (Schedlo) Reindl, and on June 25, 1940, married Anna Felix at St. Kilian Catholic Church, St. Kilian.
Mr. Reindl was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum, the Knights of Columbus Father Casper Rehrl Council 1964 West Bend, the Young at Heart Club in West Bend, the West Bend Moose Lodge 1398 and the XYZ Senior Group in Kewaskum.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert J. of Wauwatosa and Mike (Debby) of Kewaskum; two daughters, Dorothy (Bernie) Barth of Newburg and Mary (Kenneth) Kraus of Germantown; two brothers, Allen (Louisianna) and Roger (Irma), both of Kewaskum; two sisters, Linda Casper of Wauwatosa and Bernetta Bruessel of Kewaskum; seven grandchildren, Terri (Craig) Sanborn, Janet (Terry) Stockhausen, Dianne (Greg) Rinn, Tony (Kelly) Barth, Cheryl (Robert) Leissring, Lisa (Michael) Mohr and Luke Reindl; 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were a brother, Prosper, and a great-granddaughter, Rebecca Stockhausen.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, at the Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum. Father Mark Jones will officiate, and burial will be in the parish cemetery at 10 a.m. on Friday.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Eleanor K. Hughes, 76
A funeral service was held last week for Eleanor K. Hughes, 76, who died March 21, 2000. Schramka-Densow Funeral Home, Thiensville, assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Hughes was a longtime resident of Thiensville and a devout Christian.
Survivors include: husband Eldred Hughes; daughters Susan (Louis Gelena) Hughes and Nancy (John) Chenery; sister Theresa Meyer-Bern; brothers Harry Shibilski, Max (Jean) Shelby and Frank (Janet) Shibilski.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Alice G. Wustrack, 95
Alice G. Wustrack, nee Kunath, 95, of Park, Colo., formerly of Slinger, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 10, 1904, in Milwaukee, to the late Paul and Annie (Radtke) Kunath, and graduated from Girl's Tech High School, later attending McDonald's Business College.
She was employed at Remmington Typewriter Co. as a stenographer, and later was in charge of the business office.
After her marriage to Elmer R. Wustrack on April 21, 1928, at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, the couple lived in Milwaukee, moving to Mueller Lake in 1973.
Her husband passed away May 13, 1988.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Nancy (Edward) Curran of Waukesha and Susan (Bryan) Morse of Denver, Colo.; five great-grandchildren, Mykel, Anthony and Tianna Morse of Denver and Kelley and Edward III Curran of Waukesha; a special friend, Naomi Kahle, prayer partner of Hartford, and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death was a daughter, Sally Bertram,.
She was a member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church of Hartford, Valparaiso University Ladies Aide of Indiana , Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church Mission Circle and was a Pink Lady at Lutheran Hospital of Milwaukee.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 29, at 2:30 p.m. in Chapel of the Flowers, Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield. Rev. Thomas E. Feiertag will officiate, and interment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
Visitation at Chapel of the Flowers will be Wednesday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
The Phillip Funeral Home, Slinger, is assisting the family.

Edna Braun, 90
Edna Braun, nee Opper, 90, of Kewaskum, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2000, at Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mayville.
She was born Oct. 26, 1909, in Fond du Lac County to the late Henry and Christina (Jacobi) Opper, and on Nov. 14, 1925, married William F. Brockman. He preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1969. On Jan. 8, 1972, she married Walter Braun, who passed away on Dec. 27, 1998.
Mrs. Braun was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kewaskum.
Survivors include three sons, William (Karen) Brockman of Kewaskum, Henry Brockman of West Bend and Gerald (Theresa) Brockman of Milwaukee; a sister, Freida Kuehl of West Bend; a stepdaughter, Lillian Kletzine of West Bend; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, march 28, at 7 p.m. at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church Kewaskum, with Rev. Timothy A. Henning officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Newark Cemetery, town of Barton.
Friends may call at the church only on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is serving the family.

Gerald R. Engstad, 74
Gerald R. Engstad, 74, of West Bend, died Saturday, March 25, 2000.
He was born July 20, 1925, in Onalaska, to the late Orris and Hulda (nee Johnson Engstad, and on Nov. 16, 1946, married Dorothea Farris in Onalaska.
Survivors include his wife, Dody; two daughters, Pamela (Gordon) Meinke of St. Cloud, Fla. and Patricia Peterson of West Bend; a son, Larry of West Bend; his dear brothers, Wayne (the late Adeline) of La Crosse, Bill (Lorraine) of Holmen and John (Marion) of Onalaska; a brother-in-law, Jack Klar of Tucson, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Sean, Tim (Karen), Julie Chris (Tammy) and Aaron; two great-grandchildren, Robin and Kirsten; nieces and nephews, Victoria, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Geneva, David and Kevin; and many cherished friends, old and new.
Gerry also had a sister, June Klar, who passed away in 1996.
Mr. Engstad served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the 8th Air Corps flying on B-17s based in England.
He graduated from La Cross State University in 1950 and taught in elementary schools in Onalaska and West Bend for 11 years.
In 1987 he retired after having been principal at Decorah School in West Bend for 26 years.
His joy was in teaching children and working with teachers.
He served his Lord and Savior by participating in activities at St. John's Lutheran Church and in his daily life.
Besides his church, Gerry was also a member of the 91st Bomb Group Memorial Association and the Washington County Retired Educators Association.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 28 at 5 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sixth and Decorah, West Bend. Rev. Cal Seban will officiate, and burial will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation at the church only will be Tuesday from 3 to 4:45 p.m.
Memorials may be given to Decorah School or to the charity of the donor's choice.
The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.

Marion Charlotte Wichtoski, 76
Marion Charlotte Wichtoski, nee Bogenschild, 76, of West Bend, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2000, in the presence of her family .
She was born June 1, 1923.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Walter; loving mother of Mary Ellen Blohm, Rose Ann (Tom) Martin, James (Holly) Wichtoski, Helen (George) Schwartz, Susan (Edward) Vanderventer and Kay (Bob) Chalifoux; survived by 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also survived by four sisters and three brothers.
Preceding her in death were two brothers.
Private services will be held at the Borgwardt Funeral Home 1603 S. 81st St., West Allis.

Catherine E. Martens, 85
Catherine E. Martens, nee Leonard, 85, of West Bend, formerly of Aurora, Ill., died Wednesday, march 22, 2000, at the Cedar Lake Home Campus.
She was born Sept. 4, 1914, in Chicago, Ill., to the late William and Elizabeth (nee Weber) Leonard,.
After her marriage to Raymond E. Martens Sr. on June 24, 1936, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Aurora, Ill., the couple lived in Aurora, moving to Pardeeville, Wis. in 1963 and settling in West Bend in 1996.
She was an independent woman with a wonderful sense of humor and a thirst for learning, which she instilled in her children.
She loved reading, plants, cats, and being of service to everyone. Through their 64 years of marriage, she was a loving, caring wife.
Her husband and family will cherish her memory.
Survivors include her husband; three children William (Edna) of Trenton, N.J., Patricia (Patrick) Deany of Millersville, Md. and Raymond Jr. of West Bend; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death was an infant brother.
Private funeral services were held on Friday, March 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cedar Lake Home Campus, with Father Jeffrey Haines officiating. Cremation will take place at Parkview Cremations of Fond du Lac, with the interment of ashes in Washington County Memorial Park of West Bend.
The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend assisted the family.

Wilmer H. 'Jiggs' Crass, 92
Wilmer Harold "Jiggs" Crass, 92, of Phelps, formerly of West Bend, died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at the Lillian E. Kerr Nursing Care and Rehabilitation Center, Phelps.
Wilmer was born Nov. 19, 1907, in the town of Farmington, to the late Joseph and Edna (Gerner) Crass.
He had been employed by the lumber mill in Phelps when he was a young man. He then managed two service stations, one in West Bend and the other in Barton. He later was employed as a truck driver by the city of West Bend.
Wilmer married Alma Maki in Ontanagon, Mich. on Nov. 28, 1928; they later were divorced.
He was a lifetime member of the Newburg Fire Department and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in West Bend.
Wilmer enjoyed bowling and hunting.
Survivors include a daughter, Alyce Schuppel of Medford; three grandchildren, Patti Jo (Rob) Lamberty of Medford, Nona Rae Thums of Medford and Deborah Stephans of Neosho; nine great-grandchildren a great-great-granddaughter; 11 brothers and sisters; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were a grandson, Glenn Schuppel and seven brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 1 at 1 p.m. at Fillmore Union Cemetery, Fillmore. Rev. Larry Westfield will officiate, and interment will follow.
The Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home, Medford, is serving the family.
