William H. Kippenhan, 76
William H. Kippenhan of Plymouth, previously of West Bend, died Friday, March 31, 2000 at Valley View Medical Center in Plymouth at 76.
He was born on Jan. 30, 1924 in Allenton to the late William H. and Mathilda (nee Hosp) Kippenhan.
In 1951, he settled in West Bend, where he was the owner and operator of Kippenhan TV and Repair Service.
Survivors include four children, Barbara A. (Thomas A.) Minz of Campbellsport, Brenda J. (Patrick W. Walsh) Kippenhan of Milwaukee, Bruce J. Kippenhan (Jean E. Minz) of West Bend and Steven W. (Deborah) Kippenhan of Westminster, Colo.; three grandchildren, Chad Schmitt and Jason and Craig Kippenhan; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Edgar, and one sister, Norma Stoffel.
At the family’s request, private services will be held. Those who wish to give memorials to the American Heart Association or the Wisconsin Parkinson’s Disease Association. The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family.

Daniel W. 'Pat' Bradley, 88
Daniel W. "Pat" Bradley, 88, of West Bend, died Friday, March 31, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
He was born Jan. 18, 1912, in the town of Farmington to the late Stephan and Elizabeth (nee Ebert) Bradley, and married Harriet M. Schloemer at Holy Angels Church, West Bend, on Oct. 19, 1940. She passed away June 1, 1985. On Dec. 27, 1986, he married Margaret (nee Clough) Lockman in West Bend.
Pat was a resident of the West Bend area his entire life, attending Holy Angels Grade School and graduating from West Bend High School in 1929. He then attended Marquette University where he was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity In 1936, he received his bachelor's degree in business administration.
He became a general contractor with the former Winninghoff and Bradley Inc. The industrial and commercial buildings in the West Bend area that he was instrumental in the construction of include the following:
Wisconsin Telephone Co., Fair Park School, Decorah School, Hustisford Elementary School, the east plant of the Gehl Co., the east plant of the West Bend Co., Decorah Shopping Center, Badger Lab in Jackson, the offices and distribution center of Amity, The Threshold, St. Frances Cabrini School, Rectory and Convent, Holy Angels School and the Kettle Moraine YMCA, which was the last building the firm constructed before his retirement and the sale of the West Bend Corp. in 1981.
Pat was a member of the Marquette University Alumni Association and the Association of General Contractors of Milwaukee, where he was awarded the Pioneer Award in 1974.
His local memberships and associations include volunteering with the American Red Cross, St. Frances Cabrini Parish and the Holy Name Society, the West Bend Urban Re-development Corp., the Fr. Casper Rehrl Council 1964 Knights of Columbus, where in December of 1959, he became a full fledged 3rd Degree Knight and in 1984 received an honorary lifetime membership
He was also a member of the West Bend Country Club, where he won the 1987 Class F Champion and the 1988 Class E Champion. Since 1963, he was a member of the West Bend Noon Rotary Club where he served as president in 1977, and in 1985 he was named a Paul Harris Fellow, the highest award for Rotary International. Recipients are chosen for their dedication to Rotary and service to their community.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; seven children, Patrick (Jan) of San Luis Obispo, Calif., Sue (Robert) Gibbons of Elmhurst, Ill., John (Dot) of West Bend, James (Roberta) of Indiana polis, Ind., Daniel (Catherine) of Woodridge, Ill., Jean (Harold) Schraeder of Fruita, Colo. and Mark (Tracy) of La Mesa, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gladys Multhauf and Ethel Bradley, both of Milwaukee, and Elizabeth Bauer of West Bend; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bradley of Appleton and Helen Bradley of Glendale, Calif.; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Allen W. and Lester S.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church. Fr. Jeff Haines will officiate, and burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.
Visitation at the church only will be Monday from 4 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the St. Frances Cabrini Parish Building Fund or Foundation for the Future at Holy Angels Parish.
The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.

John L. Duehning, 69
John L. Duehning, 69, of King, formerly of Slinger, died Saturday, April 1, 2000, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home of King.
He was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Slinger, to the late Arthur and Anna (nee Stuettgen) Duehning.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later in the U.S. Army.
John was employed at Duehning Construction of Slinger for over 30 years.
Survivors include five sisters, Dolores "Sparky" (Sigurd) Rudorf of West Bend, Marcella "Marcy" McCarole of Milwaukee, "Elsie" Marcy (Clarence Schemenauer) of Slinger, Annie (Val "Whitey") Mergenthaler of Slinger and Carol (Norm) Saegert of Slinger; three brothers, Arthur (Siabelle), William and Leo, all of Slinger; two sisters-in-law, Doris Duehning of Hurst, Texas and Loretta Duehning of Flint, Mich.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were three brothers, Harold, Edward and Ralph and two sisters, Lorraine an Emily.
He was a past member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Slinger and the VFW Post 3358, Zunker Held of Slinger.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 5, at 8 a.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home of Slinger. Fr. Norman Schwartz will officiate, and cremation will take place in Parkview Crematory with interment of ashes in Old St. Peter's Cemetery, Slinger.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Margaret J. Schmidt, 89
Margaret Johanna Schmidt, nee Nesemann, 89, of Kohler, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center after a short illness.
She was born Oct. 20, 1910, in Algoma, to the late William and Ada (Jacobs) Nesemann, and graduated from Kohler High School in 1928.
On Sept. 2, 1933, she married Oliver F. Schmidt in Kohler.
She was employed at the Kohler Co. from 1928 until 1941.
Margaret was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler, and served as president of its Ladies Auxiliary; Kohler Women's Club; Girl Scouts of America, and received a "Thanks Badge" for her many years of service.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Lynn (Lawrence) Ehren of West Bend; six grandchildren, Joanne (Scott) Dahlquist of Richfield, Minn., David (Christine) Ehren of St. Paul, Minn., Juli (Joseph) Freda of Bayview, Robert (Kristen) Ehren of Woodbury, Minn., Lisa Ehren of Madison and Jeffrey Ehren of Bayview; eight great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 5, at 8:30 p.m. at the Huehns-Wenig Funeral Home, Sheboygan Falls. Rev. Kenneth Loehrke, pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, will officiate, and burial will be in Kohler Woodland Cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of services.
A memorial fund will be established in her name for Bethany Lutheran Church and the Lutheran High School.

Carole B. Kastelic, 75
Funeral services will be held this evening for Mequon resident Carole B. Kastelic, 75, who died March 29, 2000 at St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee.
Visitation will be at St. James Catholic Church, Mequon, from 5 p.m. Father Gregory Spitz will officiate at a 7 p.m. service. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Mequon. Arrangements are being handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg.
Mrs. Kastelic was born in Calumet, Mich. on April 6, 1924, daughter of John and Mary (nee Kalanj) Borich.
She married Edward Kastelic, who preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1997.
Mrs. Kastelic was a secretary at Milwaukee Area Technical College. A member of St. James Catholic Church, she was a longtime volunteer at the Mequon church as well as a volunteer at Mequon Care Center.
Survivors include sons Dennis (Marsha) Kastelic, Gary Kastelic and Edward Jr. (Terry) Kastelic, all of Mequon, Jack Kastelic of Hubertus, Mark (Kathy) Kastelic, Robert (Pam) Kastelic and Richard (Kathy) Kastelic, all of Milwaukee; brothers John Borich of Milwaukee, Michael Borich of Cincinnati and Frank (Rose) Borich of Chicago; 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. James Catholic Church would be appreciated.

Robert V. Rehm, 82
Robert "Bob" Rehm, 82, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., formerly of West Bend, died Thursday, March 23, 2000.
He was born Aug. 4, 1917, in West Bend, where he lived until enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1940.
He spent six year in the service, the last 38 months overseas. He landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day plus 3, fought through Europe, earned his Purple Heart in late 1944, just prior to the Battle of the Bulge, and was honorably discharged in May of 1945.
In 1945 he married Mary Ellen, and celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary in 1995.
Robert retired from the U.S. Post Office in West Bend after 27 years of service.
He enjoyed his retirement, with much time spent on the golf course until his health prevented it.
Robert was a member of the VFW, joining in 1946 and transferring his membership to the Lehigh Acres Post in 1972.
He was also a member of the Masonic Order, being raised on May 25, 1950, in West Bend, Lodge No. 344. He transferred his membership to the lodge in Lehigh Acres in 1971. Robert served as Worshipful Master of Lodge 344 in 1957.
Robert was an Elder of the First Christian Church in Lehigh Acres, for 13 years, and was made an Elder Emeritus in 1997.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, Jack; a sister, Pearl Bodenbach; nieces; nephews; and many, many friends.
Preceding him in death were his younger brother, Richard in 1970; his mother in 1940; and his father in 1958.
A Celebration of Life was conducted Wednesday, March 29, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lee Memorial Park, Lehigh Acres, with Rev. John Saleeby officiating. Interment followed in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), P.O. Box 427, Lehigh Acres, Fla.

Mildred M. Herman, 71
Mildred M. Herman, nee Marx, of Waukesha, formerly of Hartford, 71, died Thursday, March 30, 2000 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 13, 1929 to Anthony (Agnes Alick) Marx in Milwaukee. She married Robert G. Lenz on June 20, 1947 in Milwaukee and William A. Herman on Oct. 17, 1970 in Hubertus.
She is survived by one son, Alan Lenz of Milwaukee; two grandchildren, Tammie and Annie Lenz; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one husband, Robert, on March 7, 1991; three sisters, Genevieve Marx, Bernice Bulski and Arlene Stolpa; and one brother, Anthony Marx Jr.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 6 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home of Slinger with Sister Helen Hurley officiating.
Interment will be at St. Kilian’s Cemetery, Hartford, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 4-6 p.m.
Memorials to St. Kilian’s Catholic Church of Hartford are appreciated.
The Phillip Funeral Home of Slinger is assisting the family.
