Gerald 'Jerry' BeBeau
Gerald 'Jerry' BeBeau of Ashland, formerly of Glidden, died on Thursday, March 30, 2000, at his home. He was 68 years old.
He was born Dec. 30, 1931, in Shanagolden, to parents Bernard and Rosella (nee Eder) BeBeau. His early life and schooling were in Glidden.
He married Gloria Gilligan on Nov. 10, 1951 in Hartford. He worked for the city of Hartford until 1972 when the family moved to Glidden. There he was the owner/operator of Northland Oil Co. and Jerry's Mobil Station until retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Hartford and Glidden Volunteer Fire Departments.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria of Ashland; five children, Jerry (Sue) BeBeau of Fort Mitchell, Ala., Jack (Dawn) BeBeau of Bessemer, Mich., Daniel (Brenda) BeBeau, Jean (Rick) Peterson and Dave (Shelly) BeBeau all of Glidden. He was the loving grandfather of Jerry, David, Jaclyn, Matthew, Jeremy, Krista, Ashley, Brandon, Michele, Nicolas, Jaimie, Dustin and Hailey. Also surviving are his parents, Bernard and Rosella BeBeau of Glidden; two sisters, Mary (Phil) Henri of Highbridge and Bernice Allard of Waukesha; one brother, Roger (Teri) BeBeau of Glidden and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Sueanne Burdette.
Visitation and funeral services were held at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Glidden, with Fr. Edward Hussli officiating. Burial followed at the Most Precious Blood Cemetery, Glidden.
Novitzke Funeral Home, Park Falls, served the family.

Gloria E. Hedges-Otto
Gloria E. Hedges-Otto (nee Ingram) of West Bend passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2000 at Hartford Memorial Hospital. She was 69 years old.
She was born April 30, 1930 in Illinois. Gloria married James G. Hedges in July, 1949 in Missouri. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1988. She later married Harvey Otto on May 17, 1997 at Samaritan Home, West Bend. He preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1999. She was a member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Kewaskum.
She is survived by her son, James G. (Catherine) Hedges Jr. of Hartford; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Gina; a brother, Neal (Betty) Davis of Crystal Lake, Ill; and a sister, Diana Espoe of Peoria, Ill. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and two sisters.
Private family services will be held.
Shimon Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Nora A. Wickman
Nora A. Wickman (nee Burg), of West Bend, died Friday, April 14, 2000 at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend. She was 95 years old.
She was born on Sept. 29, 1904, in Menomonee Falls, to the late John and Susan (nee Lawer) Burg. She married August Wickman on Nov. 25, 1925 at St. Anthony Catholic Church of Menomonee Falls.
She and her husband farmed in Hartford for 11 years before moving to West Bend in 1941. Her husband preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 1976. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at The West Bend Co. for over 30 years.
In her spare time, she enjoyed dancing, cooking and baking, playing cards and raising flowers. Nora was the oldest living member of the West Bend Co. 25 Year Club for the past two years. She was also a member of the Apostolate of Suffering and the Christian Women's Confraternity at Holy Angels Parish.
She is survived by three children, Dolores (Reuben) Weber of Hartford, Phyllis (Jim) Gagan of West Bend and Norbert (Rose) of West Bend; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Nick (Anna) Burg and Edward (Frances) Burg; and two sisters, Elizabeth (Peter) Brill and Katherine (Arthur) Treptow.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 18 from 5-7 p.m. at Holy Angels Church, West Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial followed at 7 p.m. with Fr. Jerry Repenshek officiating. Burial was on Wednesday, April 19 at 9 a.m. in Holy Angels Cemetery.
Memorials to the Holy Angels Church Building Fund are appreciated.
The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.

Carl "Cully" A. Engelking
Carl "Cully"A. Engelking of Slinger passed away Monday, April 17, 2000 at Hartford Memorial Hospital. He was 72 years old.
He was born Jan. 9, 1928 in Milwaukee to Arthur and Agnes (nee Goedicke) Engelking. He married Louella Wimmer on Sept. 16, 1950 in Manitowoc.
He was employed in sales of overhead cranes and hoists.
Carl is survived by his wife, Louella; two daughters, Nancy (Ken) Jakubowski and Susan Engelking, both of Slinger; four grandchildren, David, Daniel, and Lauren Jakubowski and Carl Engelking; and sister, Marlene Bartels of Elmhurst, Ill. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, David.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, April 20 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Doug Livingston officiating. Inurnment Arlington Park Cemetery, Milwaukee.

Norma H. Swandt
Norma H. Swandt (nee Lueloff) of Hartford passed away Monday, April 17, 2000 at Hartford Memorial Hospital. She was 83 years old.
She was born on Oct. 25, 1916, in Kiel, to Algard and Lila (nee Loos) Lueloff. Norma married Carl Swandt on July 3, 1937 in Dubuque, Iowa.
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son, David (JoAnn) of Erin; four grandchildren, David (Joanne) of Sussex, Brett (Amy) of Hartford, Chad (Marla) of Slinger and Tiffany of Milwaukee; seven great-grandchildren, David John II, Joshua, Molly, Jonah, Bailey, Rebecca and Mark; a brother, Howard (Jeanne) Lueloff of Fond du Lac; and two sisters, Valeria Behnke of Fond du Lac and Gloria (Clarence) Bloedow of Oshkosh. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and three sisters, Leona McCoulgh, Viola Jaeger and Laverne Richards.
The family greeted relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 19 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford. Funeral services followed at 6:30 with Rev. David Beckstrom officiating. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

William D. Barnes Sr., 77
William D. Barnes, Sr., 77, of Alamo, Texas, and West Bend, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at McAllen Medical Center, McAllen, Texas.
He was born Dec. 19, 1922, in Wautoma, to the late Horace and Dora (Eichman) Barnes.
Bill attended Milwaukee area schools and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a veteran of World War II.
On April 12, 1946, he married Jane G. Schallhorn.
Bill was self-employed as a plasterer for many years and later at the American Can Co. until retiring in 1987.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Jane, and 13 children, William D. Jr. of Denver, Colo. and grandchildren, Sarah (Heath) Kopp, Danny, Kristy and Matthew and six great-grandchildren; James (Patricia) of Peoria, Ariz. and grandsons, Tim (Stacey), Nick and Matthew Kearns; Sandra (the late Robert) Blann of West Bend and grandsons, Robert III and Paul; Robert (Cynthia) of Brown Deer and grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) VanLaanen, Kelly and Gregory; Linda (Ken) Hanson of West Bend and grandsons, Mike (Amy) Oksiuta, Steve and Mark Pflughoeft and a great-grandson; Sally (James) Jaster of Menomonee Falls and grandchildren, Gary (Jill) Blawat and Melissa (Todd) Spilger and four great-grandchildren; Michael (Tracy) of Hartford and grandchildren, Wendy (Chez) Misko, Jeremy and Crystal, and a great-granddaughter; Patricia (Steven) Dye of West Bend and grandchildren, Steven Jr., Katie and Danny; Susan (Jed) Holfeltz of West Bend and grandchildren, Jed II, Megan and Bryan; John (Patricia) of West Bend and grandchildren, Jessica, Joe, Danny, Ryan, Mark and Brad; Laura (Spencer) Mueller of West Bend and grandchildren, Mike and Abbie; Jeffrey (Deborah) of Chippewa Falls and grandchildren, Natasha and Kenny Slayton and Brianna; Nancy (Kip) Wagner of West Bend and grandchildren, Jacob and Kylee.
Also surviving are his father-in-law, George Schallhorn (Grace Shull) of Princeton, Ill.; his brother-in-law, Bob (JoAnn) Schallhorn of Aurora, Colo. and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were a brother, John, and sisters, Doris Hughes, Betty Griswold and Helen Darling.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church, West Bend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.

Marjorie C. Krcil, 46
Marjorie C. Krcil, nee Meyer, of West Bend, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at her residence, at the age of 46.
She was born March 13, 1953, in West Bend, to Fred and Florence (nee Juech) Meyer, and at an early age her family moved to Racine where she grew up.
In 1970 she returned to West Bend.
Marjorie received an associate degree from Moraine Park Technical College in West Bend, served as the house manager for Kettle House at Kettle Moraine Treatment Center and was also a teacher's aide at Badger Middle School.
On Aug. 11, 1989, she married Gerald T. Krcil in West Bend. He passed away Sept. 4, 1999.
Survivors include five children, Nicole (fiance John Quillan) Meyer of Chandler, Ariz., Shawn (fiancee Jane Marti) Hansen of Onalaska, Troy (special friend April Zeiske) Hansen of Kewaskum, Rebecca Meyer of Tucson, Ariz. and Kevin Haendel of West Bend; her mother, Florence Meyer of Hatley; her maternal grandmother, Lucy Keller of West Bend; a sister, Joyce (Dennis) Held of Hatley; three brothers, Jack (Lisa) of Florida, Corky (Sue) of Kewaskum and Fred Jr. (Tracy) of West Bend; her mother-in-law, Luella Krcil of West Bend; her pet dog, "Cinder;" many special loving nieces and nephews, and many very special friends.
Preceding her in death was her father.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 28, at 7 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with Father Gerald Brittain officiating.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 6:45 p.m.
The family has asked that memorials be given to a charity to be determined at a later date.
