Leland "Lee" J. Wagner, 71
A funeral service was held Sunday at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg for Leland "Lee" J. Wagner, 71, who died on April 18, 2000. Rev. Charles Turbin officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg. Burial was at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg.
Mr. Wagner was born Jan. 29, 1929 in Cedarburg, son of John and E. Esther (nee Heller) Wagner. He married Peggy Jean Paegelow on June 24, 1950 in Wisconsin.
He worked as a salesman and attended Trinity Lutheran Church. Mr. Wagner played Land O’ Lakes Baseball for Cedarburg, softball and in the Grafton Horseshoe League. He was a member of the Cedarburg Old Timers, Boys of 76 Drum & Bugle Corps and was an avid deer hunter.
Survivors include: wife Peggy Jean Wagner of Cedarburg; son Terry (Peggy) Wagner of Cedarburg; daughter Christi (Michael) Tamsen of Cedarburg; sister Dorothy (the late Ed) Winkler of West Bend; grandchildren Michelle Tamsen, Tricia Tamsen and Tara Wagner, all of Cedarburg; sisters-in-law Sylvia (Jack) Laack of Cedarburg and Lois (Donald) Porter of Ada, Mich.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by sister-in-law Anne Paegelow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice are appreciated.

Francis W. Doyle, 89
A memorial service was held Monday for Francis W. Doyle, 89, who died April 16, 2000 at his Cedarburg home.
Visitation was at Trinity Lutheran Church, followed by a service led by Rev. Charles Turbin. Arrangements are being handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg.
Mr. Doyle was born June 1, 1910 in Washington, D.C., son of William and Lila Mae Edmonston. He married Ellen Anderle on Aug. 27, 1965.
Mr. Doyle was a lieutenant colonel in the Army during World War II, after serving in the ROTC at Purdue University. An engineer by trade, he worked for Waukesha Motors and Perfex Corp. After retiring, he worked for more than 20 years for Doig Manufacturing.
A mason, Mr. Doyle attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedarburg.
Survivors include his wife Ellen Doyle of Cedarburg; son Steven (Barbara) Doyle of Bedford, Mass.; daughter Linda (George) McCabe of West Lafayette, Ind.; stepsons Brian (Teri) Scheunemann of Cedarburg and Paul (Mary Jo) Scheunemann of Hartford; sister Bette Carmichael of Washington, D.C.; grandchildren Jeffrey (Cathy) Doyle of North Carolina, Sarah, Eve, Erin, George Jr. and Sean McCabe, all of West Lafayette, Ind., Tara and Jason Scheunemann, both of Cedarburg, Jessica and Rebecca Scheunemann, both of Hartford; other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Visiting Nurses Association of Wisconsin would be appreciated.

James H. Becht, 41
James H. Becht, 41, of West Bend, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Columbia Hospital, Milwaukee.
He was born June 30, 1958, in Milwaukee, to Henry and Marie (nee Schwartz Becht, was raised in Milwaukee and graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in 1977.
On Sept. 19, 1998, Jim married Kathryn (nee Paulin) at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church in West Bend.
At the time of his death, he was employed at Ace Iron and Steel in Milwaukee.
He was a member of the Cedar Creek Central Railroad Club and was past president of the Kin Krest Saddle Club. He also enjoyed music and was a drummer in several bands.
Survivors include his wife, Kate; three children, Sara Becht and Heather Becht, both of Colgate and Andrew Keenan-Becht of West Bend; his mother, Marie Becht of Milwaukee; a sister, Linda (Chuck) Wild of Colgate; his mother-in-law, Holly Rogge of Jackson; father-in-law, Dennis Paulin of Alpharetta, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Jake Rogge of Jackson; other relatives and many friends.
Preceding him in death was his father, Henry in November, 1999.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Rev. Ann Spindt of Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church will officiate, and burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Scott E. Cikanek, 37
Scott E. Cikanek, 37, of Horicon, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital of West Bend.
He was born Oct. 16, 1962, in Hartford, to Osborne and Ramone (nee Husdin) Cikanek, and graduated in 1981 from Slinger High School.
He had lived in Horicon since 1982.
On Sept. 25, 1987, he married Nedra Kuechler in Kohlsville.
Scott was a carpenter, and worked for his father for many years, and was a member of the Carpenters Union of Milwaukee. He was an avid outdoor sportsman and loved to hunt.
Survivors include his wife; two children, Jacob and Samantha, both at home; his father, Osborne Cikanek of Hartford; a sister, Michelle (Peter) Groom of Campbellsport; a brother, Gregory of California; his mother-in-law, Julianna Kuechler of West Bend; an uncle, Joseph Husdin of Belgium; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
His mother preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 26, at 7 p.m. at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Horicon. Rev. Samuel Jackson will officiate, and cremation will take place.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.

Lola C. Weinreich, 74
Lola C. Weinreich, nee Checketts, 74, of Leesville, S.C., formerly of Fillmore, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2000, at her residence.
She was born March 4, 1926, in Preston, Idaho, to the late Charles and Margaret (Foote) Checketts, and on Oct. 20, 1955, married Vernon Weinreich.
Lola and her husband resided in Fillmore from 1976 until moving to South Carolina in 1991.
Mrs. Weinreich was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, West Bend, and the VFW Auxiliary of Waubeka.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael (Karen) Hansen of Vacaville, Calif.; four daughters, Kathryn Jenkins of Davis, Calif., Lori (Patrick) Staton of Hartford, Verna (Bret) Fickler of Campbellsport and Mary Beth Miske-Stender of Leesville, S.C.; three sisters, Beth (Burt) Graves of Walnut Creek, Calif., Cleo (Beecher) Udy of Salt Lake City, Utah and Billie Eshem of Davis, Calif.; her mother-in-law, Veronica Weinreich of Fillmore; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Checketts of Preston, Idaho, and Patricia (Clem) Birenbaum of Fillmore; a brother-in-law, Clayton (Gladys) Weinreich of Fillmore; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a son, Harvey Hansen; a sister, Mary Lindsay; a brother, Mark Checketts; and a grandson, Bret Fickler Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of West Bend. Bishop Ralph Bound will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Martin's Union Cemetery in Fillmore.
Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, on Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of West Bend from noon until the time of services.

Susan L. Braun, 46
Susan L. Braun, nee Daniels, of West Bend, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, at the age of 46.
She was born Sept. 5, 1953, in Milwaukee, to Herbert and Dolores (nee Gierch) Daniels.
After her marriage to Robert J. Braun in Las Vegas, they settled in Milwaukee, and for the last 12 years have lived in West Bend.
Sue was very active in AA and was also an active member of the Unity Club of West Bend.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Cindy Braun and Debbie Braun, both of West Bend; three grandchildren, Jacob, Kayla and Peyton; her parents, Herbert and Dolores Daniels of Sheboygan Falls; two sisters, Sharon (Brian) Palmer of Sheboygan, and Janice (Mike) Peronto of Manitowoc; two brothers, David and Steven; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents-in-law, Harvey and Mary Braun.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 28, at 1 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend, with Pastor Cal Seban officiating. Burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation at the church only will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.

Aleata L. Fischer
Aleata L. Fischer (nee Schauer) of Hartford passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2000 at Hartford Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Hartford to Arthur and Minnie (nee Radtke) Schauer. She married Martin Fischer on Oct. 24, 1942 at the Methodist Church in Hartford.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hartford. She loved fishing and hunting.
She is survived by her sister, Lois Arnsmeyer of Hartford; a brother-in-law, Herman Fischer; two nephews, William (Christine) Koepsell of Hartford and Charles Koepsell (friend Linda) of Montello; a niece, Esther (Al) Beyer of Clintonville; two great-nieces, Julia (Michael) Raether of Theresa and Nicole (Greg) Ritger of Neosho; a great-great-niece, Ashley and a great-great-nephew, Nathan. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Martin, in 1979.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 26 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford. Funeral services followed at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David Beckstrom officiating. Inurnment Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or St. Agnes Hospice, Fond du Lac, would be appreciated.

Leonard P. Bever, 87
Leonard P. Bever, 87, of Hartford, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at the Hartford Care Center.
He was born Aug. 7, 1912, in Fairchild, to the late Peter and Theresa (nee Brandsteder) Bever, and married Leona Matysik on Nov. 30, 1935, in Fairview.
Leonard was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society of St. John's Catholic Church in Rubicon, and St. Peter's Catholic in Slinger. He was also an Apostolate of Suffering lifetime member.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Duane (Kathy) of Nenno; four daughters, Diane (Wayne) Brose and Donna (Keith) Kablitz, both of Hartford, Dolores (Alvin) Oldenburg of Erin and Della (Michael) Polega of Hartford; a daughter-in-law, Susan (Richard) Raasch of Hartford; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five brothers, Edward of Melrose, Lawrence (Babara) of Libertyville, Ill., Francis of Brown Deer, and Joe (Virginia) and Patrick, both of Racine a sister, Shirley (Ralph) George of Winnebago, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Bernice Bever of Havre, Mont. and Bonnie Bever of Webby City, Mo.; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were a son, Dale; sisters, Loretta (Clarence) Linder and Beatrice Bever; brothers, Roman and Peter; and three sisters-in-law, Betty, Vivian and Ruth Bever.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday, April 30 at 4 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Slinger, with Fr. Robert Bales officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Rubicon.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation are appreciated.
