Carl C. Becker, 77
Carl C. Becker, 77, of West Bend, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
He was born Dec. 31, 1922, on the family farm near Campbellsport, to the late Peter and Ella (nee Trost) Becker.
On June 11, 1955, he married Marie Rassel at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Dacada.
Carl was employed at The West Bend Co. in production and maintenance for over 40 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Parish, West Bend, the St. Joseph's Society, and The West Bend Co. 25-Year Club.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, Linus (Violet) of Minocqua; a brother-in-law, Raymond (Charlotte) Rassel of Appleton; two sisters-in-law, Audrey Becker of Minocqua and Belva Becker of Wautoma; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Wayland and Roderick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, May 15, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Parish, West Bend.
Fr. Patrick Wendt will be the presider, and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation at the church only will be Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of Mass.
The Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.
Martin V. Szivulka Sr., 82
Martin V. Szivulka, Sr., 82, of the town of Addison, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee.
He was born Sept. 2, 1917, in Cudahy, to the late Anton and Mary (nee Kodron) Szivulka, and graduated from Cudahy High School.
He placed semi-pro football for the then Cudahy Packers as a guard.
Martin was a member of the C.C.C., working in Nevada in the late 1930s.
On July 24, 1940, he married Blanche Budzinski in Cudahy. She passed away Dec. 12, 1991.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II as a combat engineer.
Martin worked in quality control at Evinrude Outboard Motors for over 25 years, and was an avid sports fan and gardener.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin V. Jr. of Hartford and Allan A. of Milwaukee; two grandchildren, Michelle Szivulka of West Bend and Doug Szivulka of Rochester, Minn.; four great-grandchildren, Lacey, Athena, Kolton and Chelsea; a sister, Susan Gatford of Milwaukee; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were many brothers and sisters.
He was a member of the Zunker-Held VFW 3358 of Slinger.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 15 at 8 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, Slinger.
Rev. William Frank will officiate and interment will be in Union Cemetery, Slinger, on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 6 p.m. until the time of services.

Arnold O. Rubringer, 82
A funeral service was held Friday at Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton for Arnold O. Rubringer, 82, who died on May 10, 2000.
Rev. Franz Rigert officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton.
Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grafton.
Mr. Rubringer was born Dec. 18, 1917 in Milwaukee, son of Otto and Rose (nee Sikora) Rubringer.
He married Mildred Smith, who preceded him in death.
He served in WWII and worked as an engraver.
Survivors include: daughter Dorothy (Wayne) Elgin of Grafton; grandchildren Rock (Cindy) Elgin of Grafton, Jeff (Wendy) Elgin of Sheboygan and Melody Elgin of Grafton.
Further survived by great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Merodie Bocher, 55
A memorial gathering will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield in the Chapel of Chimes on Wednesday from 2:30-4 p.m. for Merodie Bocher, 55, who died on May 3, 2000. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. Hartson Funeral Home, Hales Corners, assisted the family with arrangements.
Ms. Bocher was a graduate of UW-Whitewater with a degree in elementary education.
Survivors include: daughters Jennifer (fiance Casey Fitzrandolph) Bocher, Melissa (Dan) Hurda; son Brian Bocher; brothers John (Mary Jane) Koerner, Tom (Mary) Koerner; special cousins Barbara Hemm, George (Jean) Koerner.
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Elton E. "Bud" Liepert, 67
Elton E. "Bud" Liepert, 67, of Kewaskum, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2000, at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Fond du Lac.
He was born Jan. 21, 1933, in the town of Farmington, to the late Walter and Martha (Quaas) Liepert, and on Oct. 22, 1955, married Luella Grasse at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Port Washington.
She passed away on Sept. 9, 1994.
On April 25, 1999, he married Gloria Scheid at Peace United Church of Christ, Kewaskum.
Mr. Liepert was employed by the Gehl Co. in West Bend, retiring in 1995 after 33 years of service.
He was a member of the Gehl Co. Hexelbank Club and a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Kewaskum.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Bonnie (Don Stevens) Liepert of Beechwood; three brothers, Lloyd (Mert) and Ralph (Marilyn), both of West Bend, and Willis (Janice) of Random Lake; two sisters, Lyla (Bob) Boerger of West Bend and Janice (Craig) Warnecke of Beechwood; three stepsons, Dennis (Gail) Scheid of Dousman, Ron Scheid of Lomira and Gary Scheid of Kewaskum; eight step-grandchildren, Nicole, Crystal, Brittany, Brianna, Stephanie, Wesley, Travis and Todd; other relatives and many friends.
Preceding him in death were twin infant daughters; a daughter, Tammy Sue on July 8, 1979, and two sisters, Lois Junge and Verna Grasse.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at Peace United Church of Christ, Kewaskum.
Rev. Eric Kirkegaard will officiate, and burial will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, on Tuesday from 3 to 7:30 p.m., and on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
Viola E. LaBuda, 78
Viola E. LaBuda, nee Lennop, 78, of Ripon, died Saturday, May 13, 2000, at Ripon Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 20, 1922, in Poy Sippi, to the late Walter and Emma (Rickert) Lennop, and married Clarence J. LaBuda on May 9, 1942, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Berlin.
He passed away Feb. 14, 1997.
Viola and Clarence lived on a farm in the Ripon area, and enjoyed growing and selling vegetables at their roadside market on Highway 23 for over 30 years.
Viola enjoyed volunteering her time working at the Ripon Thrift Shop and her church, and loved cooking and gardening.
She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon, and a member of the Smear League.
Viola will be missed by her family.
Survivors include a son, Richard (Jane) of West Bend; a daughter, Diane (Kenneth) Woyak of Wausau; five grandchildren, Julie Jensen, Steve Woyak, Jeff Woyak, Jenny Wiskirchen and Kelly LaBuda; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Parker; a sister, Margaret Krause of Ripon and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Victor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 16, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Ripon, with Fr. Robert Fictum officiating.
Friends may call at the church Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
Burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Berlin.
A memorial has been established.

Frederick A. Bahr, 58
Frederick A. Bahr, 58, Allenton, died Friday, May 12, 2000, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee.
He was born July 18, 1941, in Elkhorn, to the late Gordon and Harriett (nee Sacia) Bahr, and married Gale Johnston on Feb. 1, 1964, in LaCrescent, Minn.
He graduated from La Crosse Central High School in 1958, and later graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
He was employed as a pharmaceutical salesman for Bindley Western Drug Co.
Survivors include his wife; two children, Cama (Michael) Collins of Chicago, Ill. and Jeffrey (Dianna) of Alexandria, Va.; a grandson, Samuel Collins; a sister, Ellen Bahr of Honolulu, Hawaii; three brothers, Thomas (Judy) of Las Cruces, N.M., Gerald (Jane) of Boyceville and Michael of Black River Falls; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 16, at 2 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend.
The family will greet visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
