Helen L. Duquaine Larsen
Helen L. Duquaine Larsen, 98, Green Bay, died on Sunday, March 10, 2002. Helen was born on June 27, 1903, in Green Bay, the daughter of the late Victor and Mary Verriden Duquaine. On Oct. 6, 1951, she married Harold Larsen and the couple enjoyed over 42 years together. He preceded her in death April 12, 1993. Helen is survived by three nephews, J. Patrick and Martha O’Brien, Lancaster, Calif., Gerald O’Brien, Cardiff, Calif., Dennis and Celia Patton, Bloomington, Minn.; one niece, Mary H. and James Thompson, Apollo Beach, Fla.; many great- and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; two brothers, Arthur Duquaine and Judge Edward M. Duquaine; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Pearl and John Dockry, Irene and Leo O’Brien, Ethel and Lloyd Patton; two nephews, Quin O’Brien and Donald Dockry; three nieces, Patricia Rose, Dorothy LaPlant and Betty Dachelet; two great-nephews, Phillip J. Thompson and Donald Dachelet. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 413 Saint John Street. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at the church with Msgr. Roy Klister officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Unity Hospice. Schauer & Schumacher Funeral Home 432-4841 is assisting the family.

Kathryn Kelly
Kathryn Kelly, a lifelong resident of Green Bay, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at a local hospital. She was born in Green Bay to the late George and Kathryn Kelly. Kathryn was an avid Bridge player and became a Master Bridge Player. She is survived by two nieces, Kate Barclay Curran and her sons Pat and Tim Curran and Pat Kelly Wenzel. According to Kathryn’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the Kelly family.

Mr. Patrick W. Kearns
Mr. Patrick W. Kearns, 65 Green Bay passed away on Thursday March 14, 2002 at his home. He was born on December 29, 1936 in Milwaukee, the son of the late Timothy and Mildred Krysiak Kearns. Pat served his country in the United States Army from 1958-1962 and again from 1966-1973 obtaining the rank of SSGT E6. He also served two tours during the Vietnam War from 1968-1969 and 1971-1972 with the 1st Air CalVirg.ry Division until his medical discharge in January of 1973. Pat was the Arizona State President of The Blind Veteran’s Association for 12 years. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Russell Leicht Chapter 3, the V.F.W. Post #7534 Duck Creek; the American Legion #518, the Polish Legion of American Veterans and the Amvets in Milwaukee. Pat also belonged to the Moose Lodge #801. Patrick is survived by five daughters and four son-in-laws Patricia Ray Hornsby, Stafford, Virg.; Brenda Doug Koepsell, Stafford,Virg.; Crystal and Billy Bolen, Richmond, Virg.; Shari Mark Skipper, Stafford, Virg.; Kathleen Kearns, Green Bay; four grandchildren Leasha Joaquin Bethea, James Dyott, Charles Amy Davis, Matthew Skipper, one great-grandchild Maiya Bethea, one sister Barbara Wayne Engelbert, Spring Hill, Fla; two brothers Timothy Sandra Kearns, Green Bay; Thomas Kearns, Amarillo,TX; he is furthered survived by nieces, nephews, his Siamese cat 'Hawk', other relatives and friends. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday March 18, 2002 at Schauer and Schumacher Funeral Home 340 S. Monroe Ave. Parish Wake Service 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Deacon Paul P. Umentum. Visitation will continue after 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday March 19, 2002 at Saint Mary of the Angel’s Catholic Church 645 S. Irwin Street. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 A.M. at the church with the Rev Nathan Jaskulski, OFM officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Unity Hospice. Schauer and Schumacher Funeral Home (432-4841) is assisting the family.

Curtis W. Juranitch
Curtis W. Juranitch, 68, Green Bay, died Monday, March 11, 2002. He was born April 29, 1933, in Milwaukee to William and Lillian Struck Juranitch. Curt was a member of the U.S. Air Force. He worked as an office clerk for his father’s insurance company. He was also a member of the Optimists Club and Knights of Columbus #5382. Curt also enjoyed hunting. Curt is survived by his wife, Rosemary; two sons, Scott Juranitch and his wife, Teal Peters, Paul Juranitch; a daughter, Ginger Juranitch; and two grandchildren, Joshua and Bubba. He is also survived by a sister, Arlene Schauer and her husband, Jim, nieces, nephews, and special friends, Sassy and Sparky. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Barbara Ann. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Avenue at Ridge Road, where a parish wake service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church with the Rev. James Hablewitz officiating. Burial in Allouez Cemetery.

Raymond Evan Jourdan
Raymond Evan Jourdan, infant son of Jill E. Green and Sonny E. Jourdan, passed away on Thursday, Mar. 14, 2002 at a local hospital. Raymond is survived by his parents, his siblings, Sashi, Tka, Shauna, Briana, Shayla, Shanna and Sonny; grandparents Randy Jourdan and Rose Koehler; Aunties Sherrole Benton, Nathalie and Jose Ayala-Vital Benton, Correna Benton and Steve Ninham, April and Larry Jourdan, Jennifer Green and Vince Dela Rosa, Candice, Debbie and Alicia; uncles, Billy, Mike, Jerry, and Lyle Jourdan; one great-uncle, James Green; and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert T. Green, Jr. and Wilma Parkhurst. Private graveside services were held on Saturday. Burial was held in the Holy Apostles Cemetary, Oneida, with Bob Brown officiating. He was laid to rest next to his grandfather, Robert T. Green, Jr. Ryan Funeral Service of De Pere assisted the family with arrangements.

Ralph A. Jeske
Ralph A. Jeske, 78, Green Bay, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at a local hospital from complications following heart surgery. He was born Feb. 10, 1924, to the late Walter and Amelia Lorenz Jeske in Grover, Wis. He was employed by Fort Howard Paper Company, now Georgia-Pacific, for 34 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was also employed by the Valley Motel and Kay Distributing. Ralph was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Pat; daughters, Debbie Glen Reinke, Peshtigo, and Robin, Green Bay; his son, Tom Robin New Franken; five grandchildren, Erin and Jana Reinke, Nick, Alex and Amanda Jeske; his brothers, Bert, Karl Ludy and Walter Jr., Alice Jeske; his sisters, Elsie Tarlton and Joyce Paul Nesberg; brothers-in-law, Bill Gaedke and Art McNulty; sisters-in-law, Alma Jeske and Julia Jeske; brothers-in-law, Gary Sally, Paul Pat, David Connie Meunier and Art Grace Perket; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Meunier and Diane Tom Hazlewood; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Kevin; four brothers, Gordon, Ervin, Louie and Milne Jeske; and three sisters, Eleanor McNulty, Dorothy Gaedke and Leola Bruso. Friends may call Friday after 4:30 p.m. at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Avenue and Ridge Road, where a Service of Remembrance will take place at 7:30 p.m. with Chaplain John Machek officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family wishes to express special thanks to the doctors, nurses and support staff of Bellin CCU, IMCU, 2 South and Unity Hospice for the extraordinary care given to Ralph and his family.

Rosalie ‘Ma’ Huberty
Rosalie 'Ma' Huberty, 94, Green Bay, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at Manor Care West of Green Bay. She was born to the late Joseph and Catherine Sinclair Vanderperren Dec. 6, 1907, in Mill Center. Rosalie married Clem Huberty Feb. 27, 1930, in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death Feb. 28, 1958. 'Ma' Huberty owned and operated the Hy-Way Lunch in Lena for many years. While in the restaurant, Rosalie was very active with high school student activities. She was honored as a former business owner by the Lena Civic Club on May 8, 1995. Rosalie moved to Green Bay where she was a seamstress at Nau’s Clothing store until her retirement. She enjoyed being with friends and family, sewing, card playing and cooking. She especially enjoyed beating her kids in cribbage. Survivors include Rita Larry Martens, Pell City, Ala.; Art Cathy and daughter-in-law, Sandy Huberty, both of Lena; Carl Sandy Huberty, Athens, Ga.; John Mary Lynn Huberty, De Pere; and Leah Bob Dumke, Joe Carol and Tony Ginny Huberty, all of Green Bay. Rosalie also is survived by 25 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Clyde; a son, Ken Huberty; a grandson, Andy Huberty; and seven brothers and two sisters. Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena, Friday, March 22, 2002, from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Lena, with Father Peter Taylor officiating. Interment at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Lena. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established in Rosalie’s name. 'The family wishes to offer a special thank you to the staff of Manor Care West for all of their care and compassion.'

Carol Hope Hougard
Carol Hope Hougard, passed away peacefully with beauty and dignity on Monday, March 18, 2002, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Carol was able to enjoy her final days surrounded by her loving husband, family and friends. Carol was born Sept. 19, 1918, to Edmund and Antoinette Michaux in Green Bay. She attended Fort Howard School, Franklin Junior High and West High School, graduating in 1937. She took classes at NWTC and UWGB. Carol is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Howard, along with their seven children, their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her children are Ann Wegner, Green Bay; Eric Hougard Lynn Paul, Bozeman, Mont.; Jean Hougard, New Orleans, La.; Mary Watts Tony Watts, Green Bay; Peter Hougard, Hawthorne, Nev.; Keith Hougard Cathy Hougard, Grayslake, Ill.; Nancy Hougard Gary Peppard, Green Bay. Her grandchildren are David, Tina, Julie Mike Lenarduzzi and Chad Ten Gnewuch, Jodi fiance, Mike Petty, Kim John Stolte and Heidi Hougard Dan Tilden, Aaron and Jesse Hougard, Megan Eric Morrow and Sirkka Hougard. Her great-grandchildren are Eric, Adam and Owen Stolte, Dillon Gnewuch. Cecelia and Jasper Hougard Morrow. Other surviving relatives include her brother-in-law, Robert Hougard Karen, Green Bay, her sisters-in-law, Kathryn Rathburn Roger, Boulder, Colo., Beverly Borden, Florida. Carol enjoyed going to the YMCA and was a founding member of the Green Bay Golden Arrow Archery Club. Her favorite flowers were gardenias, which she carried on her wedding day, Nov. 23, 1939. Carol was devoted to her family, friends and pets. She showed this devotion by listening, giving hugs and kisses, guiding us through our problems, making us feel loved and important by unconditionally loving each and every one of us. She was a pristine example of what a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend should be. We will follow her example by practicing what she has taught us by keeping her in our hearts forever. We are all a piece of her and her spirit will live on in each of us. The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to the physicians, chaplains and staff of Aurora Bay Care Medical Center and St. Mary’s Hospital, especially the third-floor nursing staff, and to the staff of Unity Hospice for their care, compassion and concern that blessed the last chapter of Carol’s earthly life. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home 1521 Shawano Ave. from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2002. There will be a Parish Wake Service at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation will continue at Annunciation Catholic Church, 401 Gray St., from 10-11 a.m. Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Ron Belitz officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park, 1350 N. Military Ave., Green Bay. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Carol Hougard’s name to benefit Annunciation Catholic Church, 401 Gray Street, Green Bay, WI 54303.
