Glen David Hendricks
Glen David Hendricks, 48, of Ashwaubenon, beloved husband and father, entered into eternal life on Saturday morning, Feb. 23, 2002, supported at home by his family after a courageous battle against melanoma skin cancer. The son of Elmer and Evelyn Boyea Hendricks was born Sept. 15, 1953, in Green Bay. Glen was a graduate of West De Pere High School, Class of 1971. On June 14, 1975, he married his high school sweetheart, Donna Schumacher at Old St. Joseph Catholic Church in De Pere. Together they raised two sons, Clint and Jesse. In June 2000, they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Glen had been employed for 30 years at Georgia-Pacific Fort Howard as a machine operator in the toweling department. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Georgia-Pacific and was a member of the Packerland Muskie Club. As an avid outdoorsman, Glen enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Pelican Lake area and treasured the time spent with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Donna, sons, Clint and Jesse, Ashwaubenon; parents, Elmer and Evelyn Hendricks, De Pere; three sisters, Donna Joseph Nikodem, Seymour, Linda Daniel Decker, Appleton, Fay Jacob Van Camp, Kaukauna; one brother, Gary Debra Hendricks, Suamico; his in-laws, Clarence and Jean Schumacher, De Pere; three sisters-in-law, Eileen Weidner, Green Bay, Nancy Smith, Racine, Pat Michael Case, Arizona; three brothers-in-law, Edward Janette Schumacher, Kenosha, Daniel Schumacher, Cameron, Robert Moss, Aniwa; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and his faithful dog, Buster. He was preceded in eternal life by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, one sister-in-law and a brother-in-law. Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. Parish prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, Ashwaubenon, from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Church with the Rev. James Hablewitz officiating. Burial will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery, De Pere. Glen’s family requests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers. The Hendricks family extends thanks to the UW-Madison Oncology Department, Unity Hospice, and our friends and co-workers for all of their prayers, love and support.

Rita M. Haskins
Rita M. Haskins, 53, longtime resident of Green Bay, died Sunday, March 10, 2002. She was born March 26, 1948, in Green Bay to Irvina Haskins and the late Leroy Haskins. Rita was currently employed at American Medical Security. Survivors include a son, Scot Langlais, Green Bay; a daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Paul Byrnes, Green Bay; her grandson who Rita dearly loved, Jacob; one brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Betty Haskins, Green Bay; one sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Bill Darland, Green Bay; her mother, Irvina Haskins, Green Bay; two nephews, Paul Darland, Ill.; Tim Darland, state of Washington; and her best friend, Karyn Hale, Green Bay. She was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Haskins. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Rita’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the entire staff of St. Mary’s Hospital for their special care and concern, especially Steve from Pastoral Care for his guidance in this difficult time.

Evan M. Hansen
Evan M. Hansen, 87, Green Bay, died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at a local nursing home. Evan was born August 22, 1914, to Edgar and Emma Marcussen Hansen, near Marshfield, Wisconsin. On September 10, 1936, he married the former Viola Hansen at Bethel Lutheran Church in Green Bay. Evan graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1932. He was employed by Wisconsin Public Service from 1935 until his retirement in 1976. Evan was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church since 1920. He was an active church member, serving in many offices and activities over the years. He served as the Chairman of the Building Committee for the construction of Bethel Lutheran Church at its present location and served as the church president for the first three years, following completion of the building. Evan was an industrious and hardworking man. While working full-time at Wisconsin Public Service, he personally built eighteen new homes in Green Bay. He often did his own masonry, plumbing, electrical and cabinetry work. He also built a home in Florida during vacations, where he and Viola lived for several months each year after retirement. Evan was an avid reader and enjoyed mental challenges. He was quick-witted and had a keen sense of humor. He enjoyed traveling with Viola to Europe, Asia and throughout the United States. They were members of the West-Turners Square Dance Club for 20 years. Survivors include his wife, Viola; four children, Ernest and Beverly Townsend Hansen and their three children Russell, Lori and Eric; Karen Hansen and Richard Granholm and their children, Troy, Kyle and Lance; Norman and Rae Buchholz Hansen and their children, Jefferson and Renee; John and Margo Fredrickson Hansen and their children, Andrew, Amy and Sonja; and 11 great-grandchildren. Friends may call Tuesday from 2:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, Platten and Bond Street where the funeral service will follow at 6:00 P.M with the Rev. Gary Froseth officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Howard Memorial Park. Lyndahl Funeral Home is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family would like to express deepest gratitude to the staff of the Special Care Unit at Woodside Lutheran Home for the care given to Evan during his stay.

Gilbert H. Hannon
Gilbert H. Hannon, 78, Town of Scott, died Wednesday morning, March 20, 2002, at a local hospital. Born in Green Bay Feb. 2, 1924, he is the son of the late Harrison and Cecelia Hannon. As a mechanical engineer, he spent many years as a consultant, became the Director of Engineers at Schreiber Cheese Company, and later entered into a partnership, which began Hart Design and Manufacturing. He married the former Shirley Walters May 14, 1964 in Green Bay. Gil enjoyed traveling, designing, working on his computer, and taking on challenges of any kind. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Shirley, of the Town of Scott; one brother and sisters-in-law, Harrison and Norma Hannon of Sacramento, Calif., and Merilla Hannon of Green Bay; two brothers-in-law and spouse, Robert and Mary Walters of Palm Harbor, Fla. and Eugene Powers of Green Bay; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bob Hannon; one sister-in-law, Audrey Powers. Visitation at Holy Cross Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Road, Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass Monday 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church with Father Tim Shillcox, O.Praem., officiating. Burial at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. MALCORE Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all those who lent support and care to Gil and Shirley during this time.

Florence C. Hannon
Florence C. Hannon, 71, De Pere, passed away peacefully after a 7-year bout with Alzheimer’s on Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at a local hospital surrounded by her family. She was born April 30, 1930, in Green Bay, daughter of the late Peter and Ann Van Dyke Allcox. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School in De Pere, and graduated from E. De Pere High School in 1948. Florence married Clifford U. Hannon June 30, 1951, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, De Pere. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Community, De Pere, and was a very devoted mother and wife. Florence was a crossing guard at the corner of George and Michigan Streets in De Pere, had worked at Baeten’s Grocery Store, Diana Manufacturing, and Prange’s Department Store. She was also a Den mother for the Cub Scout troop at St. Mary’s. Florence took great pleasure spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Clifford, De Pere; five children, Terri Don O’Keefe, Allouez, Debbie Albers, De Pere, Joe Barbara Hannon, De Pere, Jon Mariellen Hannon, De Pere, Mary Kay Scott Brosteau, De Pere; 16 grandchildren, Tyler, Casey, Jamie, Ann, David, Daniel, Heather, Sarah, Cliff, Alex, Ashley, Laura, Tori, Kari, Mitchell, and Kristyn; two great-grandchildren, Cullen and Andrew; and a brother, Thomas Dorothy Allcox, Neenah. Florence was preceded in death by her parents; son, Peter; and sisters and brother, Mary Ann Derouin, Helen Allcox, George Allcox, and Char Verheyen. Friends and family may call on Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Community, Pope John the XXIII Circle, off Sportsman Drive, Town of Ledgeview. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 6 p.m. Monday at church with the Rev. Gery Meehan, O.Praem., officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere. Cotter Funeral Home, De Pere, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, money given at church will be put toward Masses and to help further Alzheimer’s research. A special thank you to the nurses and staff on the ninth floor at St. Vincent Hospital for their special care and support.

Michael R. Grieger
Michael R. Grieger, 57, Green Bay, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at home. He was born Dec. 16, 1944, to the late Gilbert and Mary Blake Grieger in Green Bay. Mike was a graduate of Green Bay West High School and was employed by H.C. Miller and Company for 20 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mike enjoyed bowling and was an avid Packers fan. Survivors include his brother and sisters, Gilbert Shirley Grieger Jr., Trish Hall, and Sue Umentum; eight nieces and nephews, Gary Vicki Grieger, Sherri Brian Boyce, Kevin Umentum, Christine William Schroeder, Michael Hall, Christopher Hall, Catherine Mitch Monroe and Nicholas Sheryl Monroe; ten great-nieces and great-nephews, Kristin Schmid, Darin Grieger, Nicole Grieger, Brianna Hall, Naomi Hall, Gigi Hall, Chris Hall Jr., Rocky Macchirella, Mitchel Monroe Jr., and Michael Hall Jr.; and two aunts, Gennie Fiend, and Kathleen Margraf. Private funeral services will be held. Lyndahl Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Frederick 'Fred' L. Graves
Frederick 'Fred' L. Graves, age 87 of Green Bay, died peacefully March 30, 2002 at a local nursing home, surrounded by his family. He was born August 23, 1914 in Green Bay to the late John and Marie Graves. He had been employed at Milprint for many years. On January 25, 1991 he married Rita LaTour at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Fred was a longtime member of St. Patrick Parish, serving as an usher for 75 years. He also worked on the funeral dinners, with the re-funders, at bingo and many other church activities. Fred was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. He loved to sew and sell things at the Farmer’s Market in Green Bay. He also enjoyed playing bingo and taking care of his yard and flowers and spending time with their dog, Benji. Fred was a C.B. enthusiast, known as 'The Dispatcher' guiding many motorist and trucks around the Green Bay area. He is survived by his wife, Rita; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Cathy LaTour, Green Bay; a special niece, Marlene Lardinois, Green Bay; and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, John, James, Jerome and William Graves; an infant sister, Ruth; and a sister, Marie. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4-8 p.m. Monday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday. Friends may also call from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 211 N. Maple Street. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Msgr. Brian Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park Cemetery. Fred’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the staffs of Bornemann Nursing home and Unity Hospice and Dr. Joseph Dobson for their loving care of Fred.

Blanche Demoulin Gilson
Blanche Demoulin Gilson, 91, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at a local hospital. She was born Oct. 14, 1910, inThiry Daems, Kewaunee County, to the late Felix and Melanie Hannon Demoulin. She graduated from Luxemburg High School and married Jule Gilson on March 3, 1929, and they farmed in the town of Red River, Kewaunee County. They would have celebrated 73 years of marriage this March. The couple moved to Green Bay in 1959, and Blanche worked at the H.C. Prange Co. for approximately 10 years. She had been a lifelong member of Bible Truth Assembly. Survivors include her husband, Jule; one daughter and son-in-law, Madlyn Gene Jerabek; one son and daughter-in-law, Darold Joyce Gilson, all of Green Bay; five grandchildren and their spouses, Dale Jerabek, Green Bay, Ken Rita Jerabek, Oneida, Kaye Jerabek, Rob Lori Gilson, all of Green Bay, Todd Jean Gilson, Kaukauna; seven great-grandchildren, Aaron, Ryan and Nickolas Jerabek, Shannon, Maria, Matthew and Michael Gilson. She is also survived by a sister, Pearl Alexander; a sister-in-law, Isabelle Demoulin; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer, Peter and Milton Demoulin; a sister-in-law, Rena Demoulin; and a brother-in-law, George Alexander. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 10 a.m. to noon Monday. The Funeral Service will be held at noon Monday at the funeral home with Brother Robert Steiner officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. John Brusky and the third-floor staff at St. Mary’s Hospital. In lieu of flowers or floral tributes, please tender memorial gifts to the Salvation Army of Green Bay.
