Bernardina M. Luy, 86
Bernardina M. Luy, nee Fessler, of Racine, formerly of West Bend, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at her residence, at the age of 86.
She was born July 21, 1913, in Milwaukee, to the late William and Mary (nee Sonntag) Fessler.
She married Jerome J. Luy on May 8, 1937, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Milwaukee, and in 1942 the couple settled in West Bend.
For a number of years she served as the Barton correspondent for The West Bend News. Later, she was employed in the cafeteria at St. Joseph's Community Hospital prior to her retirement.
She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially cookies at Christmas.
A loving, wife, mother and grandmother, she was devoted to her family.
Her husband passed away on April 24, 1999.
Bernardina was a member of the Christian Women's Confraternity and the Bible Study Group at St. Mary's Parish.
Survivors include two children, Dr. Jerome (Judith) of Grafton and Mary (Kenneth) Luebke of Racine; a daughter-in-law, Charlene (Guy) Brown of Land 'O Lakes, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
A son, James, two brothers and six sisters, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 12, at 10 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Rev. Pat Wendt was the presider, and entombment followed in Washington County Memorial Park, West bend.
The family prefers memorials to St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish.
Roger L. Klink, 77
Roger L. Klink, 77, of West Bend, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, at the Sunset Senior Home in Allenton.
He was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Allenton, to the late Oscar and Helen (nee Eiche) Klink.
At an early age, the family moved to a farm in the town of West Bend, where he grew up. Later, he took over the family farm, which he operated up to the time of his retirement.
Survivors include cousins and friends.
A sister, Isabel K. Watson, and two brothers, Raymond J. and Orlando J. Klink, preceded him in death.
A graveside committal service will be held on Tuesday, June 13, at 3 p.m. at Holy Angels Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Those who wish may give memorials to the charity of their choice.

Eleanor V. Justman, 78
Eleanor V. Justman, nee Kurz, 78, of Sheboygan, formerly of West Bend, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Meadow View Manor Nursing Home, Sheboygan.
Our deeply beloved Eleanor has peacefully passed away from this life to the next.
She has been greatly loved by those who remain: Her husband, Willard W. Justman; the Zebrowskis, Joy, Cliff, David, Jennifer, Kaeleigh, Claire and baby, Jeffrey, Susan, Jonathan, Jeffrey and Angela; the Justmans, Wayne, Dawn, Christy, Jaimi, Ethan and Cristian LePak; dear and devoted sisters, Jean Eidler, Esther (James) Cronin and Alice Detloff and their families.
At Eleanor's request, private family services were held.
The family requests memorials be given to the Arthritis Foundation Wisconsin Chapter, or the charity of the donor's choice.

Ryan V. Boegel, 25
Ryan V. Boegel, 25, of Lomira, formerly of Kewaskum, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2000, as the result of injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
He was born Feb. 15, 1975, in West Bend, to James and Nancy (Bertucci) Boegel.
Ryan was a 1993 graduate of Kewaskum High School, and was a member of the Thursday Night Softball League, the Wisconsin Bow Hunters and ABATE of Wisconsin, Inc.
He was a five-year employee of Great Lakes Packaging in Germantown.
Survivors include his parents, James and Nancy Boegel of Kewaskum; two brothers, Todd (Michelle) of the town of Wayne and Jay (Jenny) of Beechwood; five nephews, Alex Fellenz, Austin Boegel, Anthony Boegel (godson), all of the town of Wayne, Bradley Boegel and Brett Boegel (godson), both of Beechwood; his aunts and uncles, Rita Boegel of Allenton, John (Rita) Boegel of Kewaskum, Norman (Kathy) Boegel of Niles, Ill., Bill (Barb) Boegel of Louisiana, Lambert Boegel and Mary Ann Sonnenberg, both of West Bend, Margie (Lee) Meyer of Germantown, Mitzi (Tom) Bartelt of West Bend, Joan (Rob) Struebing of Allenton, and Genevieve Nap, Ann Bertucci and Francis (Julie) Bertucci, all of Ishpeming, Mich.,; a special friend, Joleen Bostwick, of Lomira; many cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Oscar and Lucy Boegel, and his maternal grandparents, Salvator and Rose Bertucci.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum. Father Mark Jones will officiate, and burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the church only on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Lucile E. Ackerman, 93
Lucile E. Ackerman, 93, of Friendship Village, Waterloo, Iowa, died Monday, June 12, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center.
She was born July 30, 1906, in Greene, Iowa, to the late Jamin B. and Elcina A. Tracy, and married Alfred H. Ackerman on Oct. 15, 1924, in Waterloo. He passed away Nov. 20, 1965.
Mrs. Ackerman was bookkeeper for Kresge Co. for 11 years, and then served as an in-home companion until she was 80 years old.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Alfred J. and Karen A. Ackerman of West Bend; a daughter and son-in-law, Elcina M. and Gene Buck of Waterloo; four grandchildren and spouses, Leslie and Tim Bieri and Jean and John Kellom, all of West Bend, Beverly and Ron Sawyer of Neenah and Mark and Chris Ackerman of Iron Ridge; 10 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Merle and Dan.
Private family services will be held Thursday, June 15, at Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball. The casket will be closed.
Memorials may be directed to Friendship Health Center.
Arthur W. Schultz, 91
Arthur W. Schultz, 91, of Mequon, was born to eternal life on Saturday, June 10, 2000.
He was the beloved husband of Margaret "Marge" Schultz; loving father of Karen (Robert) Dahl and Jacqueline (Robert) Becher; brother-in-law of Della DeTroy and Charles (Marion) Beyer; dear Papa of Kenneth Dell (Holly) Dembny II, Kyle David (Sheryl) Dembny, James Arthur Alexander Eurich, Jason Paul Eurich, Marielle (Larry) Harvey and Amy Becher; dear great-grandfather of Klaire Alexis Dembny; special uncle of Sondra Harter and Carole Schultz. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Mr. Schultz was a member of the National Railroad Historical Society (NRHS) and the Electrical Workers Union Local 494.
He was also a member of Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church in Thiensville.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, at the Schramka-Densow Funeral Home, Thiensville. Private committal will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. until the time of services.
Edward Strobel, 72
Edward Strobel, 72, of West Bend, died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at the Samaritan Health Center.
He was born July 14, 1927, in Milwaukee, to the late Rudolph and Anna (nee Wolf) Strobel, and on June 4, 1949, married Margaret A. Bassill at St. John's Lutheran Church, West Bend.
After his discharge from the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II, he started a roofing business known as West Bend Roofing, which he operated from 1948 until 1975. Then he opened Timber Sport Shop in West Bend, which he and his wife have operated since 1975.
Ed was an avid outdoor enthusiast, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; two children, Barbara Strobel and Fred G. (Sallie) Strobel, both of West Bend; two grandsons, Andrew and Justin; three sisters, Hildegard, Bettie and Lorraine; a sister-in-law, Lena Strobel; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were two daughters, Shara and Elizabeth, eight brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 14, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sixth and Decorah, West Bend. Rev. George Mumm will officiate, and burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation at the church only will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

Shirley R. Holl, 56
Shirley R. Holl of Harlingen, Texas, formerly of West Bend, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Houston, Texas, at the age of 56.
She was born March 9, 1944, in West Bend, to the late Milton W. and Dolores (nee Leverenz) Holl, and had been a resident of Harlingen for the past 20 years.
Survivors include her brother, Milton (Jeanette) of West Bend; a niece, Viviana (Antonio) Almeda of Hartford; a nephew, Brent (Debra) Holl of Cedarburg; great-nieces; great-nephews; two uncles, George (Marian) Holl of Juneau and Alfred (Virginia) Leverenz of Waco, Texas; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 14, at 10:15 a.m. at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, with Rev. Blair Clark officiating.

Benedict P. 'Ben' Kaluzny, 80
Benedict P. "Ben" Kaluzny, 80, of Jackson, formerly of Milwaukee, died Monday, June 12, 2000.
He was a retired captain of the Milwaukee Fire Department.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Slinger.
Interment will follow in the (new) St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation at the church only will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
Masses or memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
