Harold H. Stauske
Harold H. Stauske, 67, of West Bend, died Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital of West Bend.
He was born Jan. 21, 1933, in the town of Trenton, to the late Walter and Edna (Dohrwardt) Stauske., graduating in 1951 from West Bend High School.
He attended the University of Wisconsin before serving in the U.S. Army. He then attended Milwaukee School of Engineering, receiving a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering in 1960.
After his marriage to Janice A. Hickman on June 25, 1960, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Cedarburg, the couple lived in Cedarburg.
He was employed at various manufacturing sites, most recently AmCast Industrial Co. of Cedarburg.
Survivors include his wife; three children, John and James (Lori), both of Cedarburg, and Mary (Daniel) Aschenbrener of Glendale; three grandchildren, Ryan and Kevin Stauske and Jacob Aschenbrener; a sister, Barbara Gonring of New Berlin; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was a member of both St. Frances Cabrini Church of West Bend and Divine Word Church of Cedarburg.
He was an alderman for Cedarburg and chairman of the Sanitary District of Silver Lake.
Closing of the casket prayers will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church, West Bend.
Father Jeffrey Haines will officiate, and interment will be in St. Francis Borgia Cemetery, Cedarburg, at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials to Sinsinawa Dominican Congregation are appreciated.

Anthony L. 'Tony’ Schmidt
Anthony L. "Tony’ Schmidt, 75, of St. Lawrence, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at the Hartford Care Center of Hartford.
He was born Sept. 19,1924, in the town of Hartford, to the late Anton and Katherine (Piel) Schmidt.
He was a dairy farmer in the town of Hartford all his life, and was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Survivors include four sisters, Martha Hahn of Slinger, Leona Schmidt of West Bend, Esther Multhauf of Rubicon and Eleanor Schmidt of Hartford; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Norbert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Father Alois VanBeek will officiate, and interment will follow in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation at the church only will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
Masses or memorials are appreciated to St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
The Phillip Funeral Home, Slinger, is assisting the family.

Lester O. Raether
Lester O. Raether, 76, of Kewaskum, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.
He was born Aug. 14, 1923, in Fond du Lac, to the late Jacob and Marie (nee Kutz) Raether, and married Ruth Mauer on June 10, 1948.
Lester served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, and worked for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for 42 years, retiring in 1985.
He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Lester was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Wayne.
Survivors include his wife; five children, Dale (Kathy) of Campbellsport, Robert (Michelle) of West Bend, Steven (Patty) of Campbellsport, Carol (Dennis) Pusch of Kewaskum and Karen (Kevin) Kerr of Milwaukee; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Daniel) Meeks, Michael Raether, Daniel Raether, Melissa Raether, Tammara Pusch, Tara Pusch, Nicole Kerr and Chasity Kerr; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gertrude (Arthur) Backhaus and Joyce (Delmer) Wendegatz, both of West Bend, and Donna (Miles) Wilson of Campbellsport; two brothers, Fred (Alice) of Campbellsport and Ralph (Betty) of Millston; a sister-in-law, Floretta (Leo) Brunner of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death was a great-granddaughter.
Visitation at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Sunday, July 23, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Private family services will be held Monday and entombment will follow in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac.
Memorials to Salem United Church of Christ are appreciated.
Lester's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Brown, Dr. Vukelich and the third floor nurses for the care given to him, and also to Pastor Flegel, the congregation of Salem United Church of Christ and all their friends for their thoughts, prayers and support.

Marlyn M. Lawrence
Marlyn M. Lawrence, nee Reinke, 69, of West Bend, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at her residence.
She was born March 1, 1931, in West Bend, to the late Lloyd and Viola (Kocher) Reinke, and graduated from West Bend High School in 1949.
After her marriage to John S. Lawrence Jr. on June 1, 1952, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend, the couple lived in the West Bend area.
She was employed as a legal secretary, was a store associate for Youth Towne for over 18 years and later at JC Penny's of West Bend.
Survivors include two children, John III (Sonja) and Jill (David) Lake, both of West Bend; five grandchildren, Leslie and Ashley Lawrence of West Bend, and Taylor, Chloe and Parker Lake of West Bend; a brother, L. James (Mildred) of West Bend; special friends, John Jr. and Renee Lawrence of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many, many friends.
Preceding her in death was a daughter, Sally Jo.
She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, was a devoted mother and grandmother, an avid bridge player and enjoyed reading.
A memorial service will be held Monday, July 24, at 6 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church of West Bend. Pastor Calvin F. Seban will officiate, and cremation will take place at Parkview Cremations of Fond du Lac.
Visitation at the church only will be Monday from 5 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials are appreciated to St. John's Lutheran School of West Bend, or The Living Word Lutheran High School of Jackson.

Harold H. Stauske, 67
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday at St. Francis Cabrini Church of West Bend for Harold H. Stauske, 67, who died on July 18, 2000. Father Jeffrey Haines officiated at the ceremony, with the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, assisting the family with arrangements. Interment took place at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery in Cedarburg.
Mr. Stauske was born Jan. 21, 1933 in the Town of Trenton, son of Walter and Edna (nee Dohrwardt) Stauske. He married Janice A. Hickmann on June 25, 1960 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church of Cedarburg. He was employed at various manufacturing sites, most recently at AmCast Industrial Company in Cedarburg. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Stauske was a member of both St. Francis Cabrini Church of West Bend and of Divine Word Catholic Church of Cedarburg. He was an alderman for Cedarburg and Chairman of the Sanitary District of Silver Lake.
Survivors include: wife Janice Stauske; sons John Stauske of Cedarburg, James (Lori) Stauske of Cedarburg; daughter Mary (Daniel) Aschenbrener of Glendale; grandchildren Ryan and Kevin Stauske of Cedarburg and Jacob Aschenbrener of Glendale; sister Barbara Gonring of New Berlin.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials to Sinsinawa Dominican Congregation are appreciated.

Gloria M. McGinnis, 74
A funeral service will be held today at 4 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg for Gloria M. McGinnis, 74, who died on July 19. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Geroge Gajdos will officiate at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg. Burial will be held at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin.
Mrs. McGinnis was born March 1, 1926 in LaCrosse, daughter of Joseph and Margaret (nee Green) Smith. She married James McGinnis on July 7, 1967 in Wisconsin and worked as a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband James McGinnis of Grafton.
Further survived by a niece, nephew, brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
