Irene A. Gosenheimer, 91
A private funeral service will be held for Irene A. Gosenheimer, 91, who died on July 19. Burial will be held at Pinelawn Cemetery in Milwaukee.
Mrs. Gosenheimer was born May 19, 1990 in Milwaukee, daughter of Stephen and Magdalena (nee Brombeck) Chrostowski. She married Carl Gosenheimer and worked as a secretary at a Paper Co.
Survivors include: son Gerald (Dorothy) Gosenheimer, James (Joan) Gosenheimer; grandchildren Terry (Robert) Crevensten, Patricia Gosenheimer, Gloria (Jon) Hafemann, Gail (Amilcar) Proveda, Carol Gosenheimer.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl and parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
Edna Gierach, 86
Funeral services were held Sunday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Freistadt for Edna Gierach, 86, a native of Freistadt who died July 20, 2000 at St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee.
Services were led by Rev. Robert Lindau and Rev. Robert Johnson, with burial at Trinity Freistadt Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg.
Mrs. Gierach was born Dec. 11, 1913, daughter of the late Carl and Laura (nee Wendt) Wendtland. She married Helmut Gierach on June 12, 1937.
A homemaker, Mrs. Gierach attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistadt.
Survivors include her husband, Helmuth Gierach of Cedarburg; daughter Arlene (Jerry) Prochnow of West Bend; daughter-in-law Ruth Gierach of Cedarburg; grandchildren Glen (Vicki) Gierach of Newburg, Susan (Rudiger) Kloppmann of Grafton, Nancy (Jeff) Kreutzer of Grafton, Kurt Gierach of Mequon, Lori (Rick) Gutermann of West Bend, David (Ann) Prochnow of Campbellsport, Holly (Chris) Miller of Windsor, Co. and Jeremy Prochnow of West Bend; nine great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, Freistadt, would be appreciated.
Emmett J. Doerr Sr.
Cedarburg — Emmett J. Doerr Sr., who along with his brothers owned Doerr Electric on a street named after the company here, died Thursday from complications of a stroke at the age of 90.
Doerr and brothers, Lee and Edwin, moved the family’s electric motor company to Cedarburg in the mid-1940s. The business was started in St. Louis in 1940.
W.W. Grainger of Chicago purchased the business in 1969 which later became Emerson Electric. The company no longer is operating on Doerr Way, off Pioneer Road.
Besides being an industrialist, Doerr was known for his philanthropy, having donated money to the Boy Scouts of America and several Catholic schools, including Marquette University, Dominican High School and St. Louis University.
Doerr of Fox Point died at the family compound in Michigan.
He is survived by sons Emmett Jr. of Mequon, Emil of Chilton, Thomas and John of Nashville; and daughters Elizabeth Doerr-Wells of San Francisco and Mary Ellen Ceverha of Dallas.
Funeral services were scheduled today at 10 a.m. at St. Eugene Catholic Church in Fox Point.
Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery on Donges Bay Road in Mequon.
Lucille M. Thomas, 71
Lucille M. Thomas, nee Wollner, 71, of West Bend, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 26, 1928, in the town of Saukville, to the late John and Lillian (Hoffmann) Wollner.
After her marriage to Lawrence M. Thomas on May 26, 1948, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in the town of Trenton, the couple lived in the town of Jackson.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and loved baking, gardening and playing Sheepshead.
Survivors include her husband; seven children, Gerald (Sandra) of Campbellsport, Patricia (Richard) Klumb of Fond du Lac, Marjorie (William) Klumb of West Bend, Edward of the town of Jackson, Marlene Bichler of Sheboygan Falls, Robert (Sue) of Cedarburg and James (Tammy) of Newburg; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Leroy (Delores) Wollner of the town of Saukville, and on Lawrence's side, two sisters-in-law, Alice (Leo) Schickert of West Bend and Sister Mary Ann Thomas of Oshkosh and two brothers-in-law, Ralph (Hildegard) Thomas of the town of Jackson and Joseph Woeckel of Newburg.
She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters-in-law.
She was a lifetime member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Christian Mother's Society, and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Newburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 25, at 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Newburg. Fr. Robert G. Sampon will officiate, and interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, town of Trenton, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Visitation at the church only will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Masses or memorials are appreciated.

William W. 'Willi' Gabri, 79
William W. "Willi" Gabri, 79, of the town of West Bend, died Monday, July 24, 2000, at his residence.
He was born March 9, 1921, in Georgia, Russia, to the late Alexander and Sonia (nee Gobersch Wili) Gabridischse.
After his marriage to Anna Jakob on Aug. 15, 1947, in Langenselbold, Germany, they came to the United States in 1951. They made their home in the Allenton area, and in 1975 moved to the town of West Bend.
His wife passed away on Jan. 23, 1998.
Willi was employed at the Gehl Co. for many years until retiring in 1983.
He was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, National Blacksmith Association, Gehl Co. Hexelbank Club and the Loyal Order of the Moose, West Bend Lodge 1398.
He had also been a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Casper Rehrl Council 1964, and just recently transferred to the new Knights of Columbus Unity Council 12743.
Willi loved gardening, his fruit trees, and most of all, his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Erni (Eberhardt) Fritz of Neuhausen Germany, Robert (Darla) Gabri of Muskego Sonia Muckerheide of West Bend and Heidi (Richard) Fellenz of West Bend; seven grandchildren, Stefan (Cornelia) Fritz, Eric Gabri, Jessica and Scott Muckerheide Andrea, Brooke and Elisabeth Fellenz two sisters-in-law, Agnes Stichel and Mina Barenz both of Germany; special friends, Kay and Bob Lucas of West Bend; other relatives and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 27, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Matthias Catholic Church in Nabob. Fr. Alois VanBeek will be the presider and burial will follow in St. Matthias Cemetery.
Visitation at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Thursday from 3 p.m. until prayers at 6 p.m.
Dionisios 'Denny' Kardaris, 45
Dionisios D. "Denny" Kardaris, 45, of New Berlin, died Friday, July 21, 2000, after a long battle with leukemia.
He was the cherished husband of Michele (nee Cavaiani); loving father of Dimitrios Kardaris, Nicole (John) Meier and Alexandros Kardaris; dear grandfather of Lucas and Logan Meier; beloved son of Evangelia and the late Dimitrios Kardaris; beloved brother of John Kardaris and Irene (Stavros) Nikolaou.
He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held in Greece.
The Krause Funeral Home, New Berlin, is assisting the family.

Alma E. Mayer
Alma E. Mayer, nee Spiegel, of West Bend, died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, at the age of 86.
She was born May 31, 1914, in Shawano County to the late Edward and Anna (nee KielBlock) Spiegel.
She moved to Milwaukee where she met and married Harry Puestow on May 31, 1936. Shortly thereafter they moved to West Bend.
He passed away in 1963.
In April of 1964 Alma married Emil Kalies. He also preceded her in death in 1984.
On Nov. 13, 1986, she married Leonard Mayer at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in West Bend where she was also a member.
Alma had also been employed at the former Amity Leather Co. for over 14 years.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Shirley (Frederick) Ruhnke and Jeannette Kreutzer, both of West Bend; five step-children, Norman (Pat) Kalies of Woodruff, Donna (Tom) Gustine of West Bend, Richard Mayer of Seymour, Gail (Bob) Schroeder of West Bend, and Jack (Diane) Mayer of West Bend; a sister, Louise Heil of Oostburg; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; other relatives, and friends.
Preceding her in death were a sister, Laura Seefeldt; four brothers, Leonard, Ben, Adolph and Martin; a son-in-law, Robert Kreutzer; and a grandson, Chris Kalies.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Rev. Victor Hackbarth will officiate, and burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials may be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
Therese L. Berger
Therese L. Berger (nee Gordon) of Mercer passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2000 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee. She was 67 years old.
She was born in Niagra, Wis. on April 14, 1933 to parents Neal and Rose (nee Pilon) Gordon. She married Francis "Banana" Berger on Dec. 21, 1951.
Therese loved the Northwoods and enjoyed fishing. She was an active volunteer for the Mercer Lion's Club and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, delivering meals to shut-ins.
She is survived by one son, Daniel (Karen) Berger of St. Lawrence; one daughter, Marie (Frank) Falkowski of Stevens Point; four grandchildren, Brad and Heather Berger of St. Lawrence, Becky Falkowski of Oshkosh and Chris (Sandy) Falkowski of Wisconsin Rapids; one great-grandson, Michael and one step-great-granddaughter, Hannah; two brothers, Tom (Char) of Iron Mountain, Mich. and Robert (Alda) of Franksville; two sisters, Kathleen (Pat) Recla of Niagra, Wis. and Rosealine (Ron) Meyers of Sussex; and two sisters-in-law, Arlene and Della Gordon, both of Niagra. Therese is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis; and four brothers, Francis, Tuffy, Jerry and Dan Gordon.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 29 at 1 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home with Father Franklyn Becker officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at the funeral home from noon to 1 p.m. Committal Service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5 at 11 a.m. at the Mercer Cemetery, Mercer.
Memorials to the Eye Institute at Froedtert Memorial Hospital appreciated.
