Hildegard (Hiddie) Viesselmann
Hildegard (Hiddie) Viesselmann passed away on July 30, 2000 at the age of 75.
Mrs. Viesselmann was born on Ju1y 7, 1925 in Antigo, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Anna (Koehn) Jaeger.
On Dec. 2, 1950 she married Harry Viesselmann at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. At that time she worked as a clerk at the A&P Red Owl grocery store. She was a member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church. As a member of the church, she had served as a Sunday School teacher, was a member of the LWML, and attended Bible classes.
Survivors include: husband Harry; son, Scott of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters, Kay (Luther) Bajus of Sheboygan, Lynn (friend Eugene) of Cedarburg, and Kelly (Mark) Hetzel of Racine; grandchildren, Kory and Mark Bajus, Ricca Viesselmann, Robbie, Sam and Jeffrey Hetzel; brothers Carl (Vera) Jaeger, Martin (Delores) Jaeger; sisters Anita (Roland) Krause, Erna (Robert) Stecker, Viola Maas, Ruth (Allen) Krueger, Eunice (Glenn) Frank, and Darlene (Robert) Ladwig; brothers-in-law Clarence Viesselmann and Arnold Groth; sisters-in-law Edith Zeitler and Linda Jaeger; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Ilma Jaeger; her brother, Paul Jaeger; two sisters, Helen Jaeger and Selma Groth; a brother-in-law, Harvey Maas; a sister-in-law, Irene Jaeger; and a grandson, Scotty Viesselmann.

S. Duane Stroebel
A funeral service will be held today at 10 a.m. at Divine Word Catholic Church for S. Duane Stroebel of Cedarburg, 71, who died on Aug. 13, 2000. Father George Gajdos will officiate at the ceremony, with Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, assisting the family with arrangements. Burial will be held at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg.
Mr. Stroebel was born Jan. 8, 1929 in Milwaukee, son of Sherburn and Esther (nee Stepanek) Stroebel. He married Jane Boller and worked as a realtor. He owned Heritage Real Estate, which was located in the Historic Hillmann House in Cedarburg. He was a member of the Ozaukee Realtors Assoc., Model A Ford Club, Antique Auto Racing Assoc., Ozaukee Corvette Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting, UW football and Marquette basketball.
Survivors include: wife Jane Stroebel of Cedarburg; daughters Robin (Ben) Cruz of Madison and Christine (Peter) Scimeca of Cedarburg; son Duey (Laura) Stroebel of Cedarburg; stepson John Boller of New York, N.Y.; stepdaughter Katherine Boller of Denver, Co.; brothers Bob (Pat) Stroebel of Little Chute, Don (Marge) Stroebel of Adams Friendship, Jack (Jutta) Stroebel of Fennimore, Alan (Mary) Stroebel of Brookfield; grandchildren Carmen Cruz of Madison, John Scimenca, Charles Scimeca, Spencer Stroebel, Maggie Stroebel, Trevor Stroebel, Stewart Stroebel and Mitchell Stroebel, all of Cedarburg.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
Memorials to the Ozaukee County 4-H Foundation would be appreciated.

Ervin A. Berggren
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church for Ervin A. Berggren, 87, who died on Aug. 14, 2000. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. this evening at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg, and from 9:30-10 a.m. on Friday at the church.
Father Ed Wawrzyniakowski will officiate at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Menominee, Mich.
Mr. Berggren was born Oct. 10, 1912 in Menominee, Mich. son of Jacob and Anna (nee Jorgenson) Berggren. He married Bernice LaCoursiere on June 25, 1936 in Menominee, Mich. He worked as a supervisor for Doerr Electric. He was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church and the Starcraft Camping Club.
Survivors include: wife Bernice Berggren of Cedarburg; daughters Joanne (Peter) Collins of Brown Deer, Mary (Leroy) Ernisse of Cedarburg; son Robert (Natalie) Berggren of Grafton; grandchildren Kim (Kevin) Blanchard of Climax, Mich., Rob Berggren of Milwaukee, Michelle Landerman of Cedarburg, Laura Landerman of Cedarburg, Nicole Ernisse of Cedarburg.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael and brother Raymond.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church are appreciated.

Raymond E. Schuster
Raymond E. Schuster, 84, of West Bend died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000 at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital in West Bend.
He was born Aug. 4, 1916 in Fillmore to the late Henry and Minnie (nee Guelzow) Schuster.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II, after which he came to West Bend and worked as a brick mason and foreman with the former Winninghoff and Bradley Construction Co.
Ray was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend, Fred A. Schaefer VFW Post #1398 and Disabled American Veterans - Lt. Adrian W. Frankow Ch. #58.
He is survived by two children, William (Jenny) Schuster of Brunswick, Ga. and Sandra (Gerald) Hoeft of Lake Mary, Fla.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Milton Schuster of Fillmore; a special friend, Millie Schwartz of West Bend; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Dorothy Schuster.
Graveside services with Father Jerry Repenshek will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. at Fillmore Union Cemetery in Fillmore. The Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.

Verona A. Kadolph
Verona A. Kadolph (nee Gentz) of Hartford passed away Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000 at the Community Memorial Hospital of Menomonee Falls at the age of 88.
She was born Nov. 13, 1911, in the town of Herman to John and Lydia (nee Kamrath) Gentz. She married Armund Kadoph on June 19, 1925, at Zum Kripplein Christi Lutheran Church, Iron Ridge.
Verona was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church Choir. She was a past president of the Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aide. She was a past member of Hartford Doers.
Verona loved to cook and bake, and enjoyed the outdoors in her garden and planting flowers.
She is survived by one daughter, Elaine (Edmund) Key of Hartford; one son, Ronald (Judy) Kadolph of Rubicon; one daughter-in-law, Katherine Kadolph of Milwaukee; eight grandchildren, Deborah (John) Kerr of New Berlin, Michael (Tammy) Kadolph of Jackson, John (Cindy) Kadolph of Milwaukee, Jeff (Lynn) Key of Brookfield, Bruce (Karen) Key of Green Bay, Kevin (Audrey) Key of West Allis and Jennifer and Bonnie Kadolph, both of Rubicon; 11 great-grandchildren one great-great-grandchild; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Armund, in 1975; son, Lloyd; two grandchildren, David and Mark Kadolph; two sisters, Erma (Edgar) Lichtenberg and Bernice Yoeckel; and three brothers, Edmund, Herbert and Roland Gentz.
Funeral services will be on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Huilsburg with Rev. Willard Marquardt officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends Friday at the church only from 4-6 p.m. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Huilsburg. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church are appreciated.

Irene H. Claas
Irene H. Claas (nee Nennig) of West Bend died on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at the Samaritan Health Center at the age of 89.
She was born on July 31, 1911, in Nenno to the late Joseph and Anna (nee Hefter) Nennig and married Gottfried J. Claas on June 11, 1935, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nenno.
In 1940, she became employed as the first lay nurse at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital, working mainly in the nursery. Prior to settling in West Bend in 1945, the family lived in a number of places, including Fusville (Menomonee Falls), Germantown, Kewaskum and near Kohlsville.
Following her and Gottfried’s retirements, they, along with their children, built a cottage in Adams County, spending many weekends and family getaways there. In 1994, she became a resident of the Samaritan Health Center, where her hobbies included entering stitchery items in the Washington County Fair, being awarded numerous blue ribbons.
Survivors include include four children, Pettronella "Nell" (Larry) Simons of Lebanon, Sylvarius "Sam" (Kathleen) and Barbara (Ned) Vanderbundt, both of West Bend, and Allen of Clear Lake, Calif.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul Nennig of Appleton, Francis Nennig of West Bend and Joseph Nennig Jr. of Menomonee Falls; three sisters, Dorothy (Joseph) Luedcke of Menomonee Falls, Adelaide Weiland of Eagle River and Delores Blatz of Milwaukee; one brother-in-law, William Claas of Milwaukee; one sister-in-law, Loretta Hollenbeck of Princeton; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 14, 1994; four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church with Father Patrick Wendt presiding. Burial will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the old St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of services. The family has asked that memorials be given to Donated Health Services of Washington County or to Immaculate Conception Parish.

Patricia J. Blecha
Patricia J. Blecha, 70, of Pensacola, Fla., died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at a Pensacola health care facility.
A native of West Bend, Mrs. Blecha has been a resident of Pensacola for the past 20 years. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, the catholic Foresters and the Ladies Auxiliary, Fleet Reserve Branch 22.
Mrs. Blecha is survived by her husband, Richard H. Blecha; a son, Patrick G. Blecha, both of Pensacola; brothers Phillip Laufer of West Bend and Jerry Laufer of Park Falls; and a sister, Bette Thelen of Pheleps, Wis.
The funeral service was held today at Graveside at Barrancas National Cemetery
A visitation was held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home this morning from 11 a.m. to noon prior to the service. Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charles W. Poler
Charles W. Poler, age 78, of Lomira, formerly of West Bend, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000 at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.
He was born on May 21, 1922 in Neillsville to the late William and Madelene (nee Shilts) Poler and was married to Lovella Ferguson on June 12, 1943. After serving in the Army Air Corp during World War II, they made their home in Green Bay.
In 1964 they moved to West Bend and Chuck became the manager of the silk screening department at Serigraph Inc. After his retirement in 1983, Chuck and Lovella traveled the country visiting all 50 states, and in 1989 they settled down in Lomira.
He was a member of the West Bend Moose Lodge #1398 and the American Legion Post #347 of Lomira.
He is survived by his wife Lovella; seven children, Naydene (Dan) Smits of Green Bay, Marybeth (Ron) Fairbanks of Green Bay, Charlotte (Andy) Beck of Hilbert, Charles (Judi) Poler Jr. of San Diego, Calif., Shelly (Jay) Johnson of Plover, Melissa (Gary) Stoffel of West Bend and Jennifer (Tom) Beck of West Bend; 19 grandchildren and 16 grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel (Vic) St. John of Neillsville and Lois Matthews of Williams Bay; one brother, Robert (Wanda) Poler of Neillsville; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Kapfer, Ethel Henne and Ardis Sherwood.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service, with a reception to follow after the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in Grant Cemetery in Neillsville at a later date.
Memorials may be given to St. Joseph's Hospital Hospice unit or the Cancer Center.
The Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Raymond F. Wessel
A funeral service was held last Friday at Faith Lutheran Church for Raymond F. Wessel, 75, who died on Aug. 15, 2000. Rev. Paul Peterson officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg. Burial was held at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg.
Mr. Wessel was born Oct. 24, 1924 in Mequon, son of Charles and Lena (nee Luber) Wessel. He married Sylvia Wendtlandt on Oct. 20, 1946 in Wisconsin. Mr. Wessel worked as a salesman for Koehler Insurance and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He served in the Army from Jan. 4, 1944 to Nov. 17, 1945.
Survivors include: wife Sylvia Wessel of Cedarburg; brother Elroy (Cela) Wessel of Thiensville; nephews Dennis (Anita) Wessel of Merrill, Gerald (Rose) Wessel of Grafton, Donald (Sue) Wessel of Mequon; nieces Trudi (James) Biefeld of Cedarburg, Carol (Michael) Trad of Grafton, Marion (Willard) Hoppe of Thiensville.
Further survived by 13 great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by brothers Arnold and Walter.
Memorials to Faith Lutheran Church are appreciated.
