Mary Lou Lowe
Mary Lou Lowe, nee O’Leskeâ of West Bend, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital, at the age of 56.
She was born Feb. 2, 1944, in the town of Osborne in Outagamie County, to the late Joseph and Margaret (nee Birringer) O’Leske.

She was raised in Rubicon and graduated from St. John’s High School.

Following her marriage to Roy Allen Lowe on April 30, 1966, in Waukegan, Ill., the couple settled in West Bend.

Roy passed away in 1979.

For the last 34 years Mary Lou bravely fought multiple sclerosis while raising her daughters.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra (Donald) Schwinn of Klamath Falls, Ore. and Katherine M. Lowe of West Bend; two step-grandchildren, Timothy and Kristi Schwinn; two brothers, Joseph (Helen) of Rubicon and Jerry (Mary) of Fond du Lac; a sister, Jean (Ralph) Kuechler of Rubicon; her mother-in-law, Florence Kastner of Mexico, Mo.; two brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; and other relatives friends.

Preceding her in death was a son, Roy Allen Lowe II.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of the services.

Edwin C. Kuenzel
Edwin C. Kuenzel, 76, of West Bend, died on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 6, 1923, in Milwaukee, to the late Edwin C. and Erna L. (nee Reiser) Kuenzel.

After graduating from Milwaukee's Rufus King High School, he attended Michigan Tech where he earned his bachelor's degree in metallurgy.

He then entered the United States Army, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II.

Following his discharge, he returned to Milwaukee and became employed at the former Joseph T. Ryerson, a steel warehouse in Milwaukee.

On Sept. 13, 1947, he was united in marriage to Elaine L. Loeper at St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee. In 1986 they moved to Chula Vista, Calif., returning to Wisconsin and settling in West Bend in 1994.

Ed was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Joseph T. Ryerson and Pilgrim Lutheran Church in West Bend.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Elaine; four children, Rev. Karl (Karen) of Santiago, Chile, Rev. Karen Haufmann of West Bend, Kathleen (Rev. Clark M.) Davis of Tampa, Kan. and Kristine (Daniel M.) Straszewski of Slinger; seven grandchildren, Peter J. Meissner, Stephen A. Meissner, Shannon Straszewski, Rebeckah Davis, Michael Straszewski, Marissa Straszewski and Rachel Davis; other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 24, at 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church with Rev. Clark M. Davis and Rev. Joseph Meyer co-officiating.

The family will greet relatives and friends in the church hall following the services.

The family has asked that memorials be given to Pilgrim Lutheran Church Building Fund or the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.

The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family.

Adela K. Gosse
Adela K. Gosse, nee Klein, formerly of the town of Jackson, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, West Bend, at the age of 96.
She was born Sept. 3, 1903, in the town of Farmington, to the late Christopher and Mary (nee Luhn) Klein.

Prior to becoming a resident of the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, Adela had lived her entire life in the West Bend area.

For over 40 years, she had been a member of First Baptist Church, West Bend.

Survivors include two children, Marian (Harold) Sauthoff of the town of Jackson, and Alex (Betsy) of Salt Lake City, Utah; nine grandchildren, Dan (Sue) Weigand, Sue (Randy) Clark, David (Mary) Weigand, Kenneth (Wanda) Weigand, Cindy Sauthoff, Tom Gosse, Robert (Kelly) Gosse, Patricia (Scott) Clark and David Gosse; 21 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were two grandchildren, Katherine Gibbs and Diane Schaefer; a brother, Alex; and a sister, Irene Fellenz.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 24, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Bruce Dunford officiating. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the Schmidt Funeral Home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m., and also Thursday at the church only from noon until the time of services.

John Engelhardt and Marjorie H. Engelhardt
John Engelhardt, age 71 and his wife, Marjorie H. Engelhardt (nee Johnson), age 71, of West Bend, both died on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, as a result of injuries suffered in an auto accident.

Marjorie was born on March 31, 1929 in Milwaukee to the late David and Myrtle (nee Christianson) Johnson. She enjoyed her crafts, sewing and decorating.

John was born on July 13, 1929 in Milwaukee to the late Karl and Susie (nee Dietz) Engelhardt. He served in the United States Army and, when not working, enjoyed fishing.

John and Marge were united in marriage on Nov. 5, 1949 in Milwaukee and not long ago celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends. In 1957, they moved to West Bend and together owned and operated Engelhardt Dairy in Kewaskum. They had a deep love for each other, their children and grandchildren.

Together, they are survived by their three children, Guy (Sandra) Engelhardt of West Bend, Greg (Kathy Waala) Engelhardt of Kewaskum, and Susan (Alex) Kiss of Hermosa Beach, Cal.; six grandchildren, Matthew Engelhardt, Brooke Engelhardt, Angela Engelhardt, Austin Engelhardt, Ashley Kiss and J.L. Kiss.

Marge's family also includes three sisters, Gloria (Bob) Pratt of Sun City, Ariz., Dorothy (Clem) Schmidt of Iola, and Jeanette (Norton Saude) Johnson of Edina, Minn.; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Johnson of Milwaukee.

John's family also includes two sisters, Mary Cantrall of West Bend and Helen (Erv) Riefschneider of Milwaukee. They are also survived by other relatives and many close friends.

Marge was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel and one sister, Grace.

John was preceded in death by one brother, Karl.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000 at 7 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Visitation took place at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Entombment Wednesday at Washington County Memorial Park.

Memorials to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association appreciated by the family.

Tanner Jacob Janz
Tanner Jacob Janz went back to the arms of Jesus on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000 at the Hartford Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 17, 2000 at the Hartford Memorial Hospital to Joel and Joan (nee Timmler) Janz.

Tanner is survived by his parents, Joel and Joan of Hartford; two brothers, Devan and Blake; maternal grandparents, Barbara and Dale Timmler of West Bend; paternal grandparents, Carroll and Eleanora Janz of Cedarburg; and great-grandma, Mildred Timmler of Marshfield. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Hill Parish, Richfield with Father Fred Alexander officiating. The family greeted relatives and friends at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. Interment at St. Augustine Cemetery, Richfield.

Mark E. Giebel
Mark E. Giebel of Hartford passed away on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000 at the St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was 46 years old.
He was born in Fond du Lac on Dec. 13, 1953 to Gordon and Delores (nee Zehren) Giebel.

Mark attended St. Kilian Catholic Grade School and graduated from Hartford Union High School in 1972. He worked at Infalt's Garage and then D & D Muffler and Tire Center. He enjoyed backpacking and traveling the United States.

He is survived by his mother, Delores; two sisters, Sharon (Anton) Baumann of Brookfield and Barbara (Jack) Bernardy of Green Bay; one brother, Michael (Tina) Giebel of Joplin, Missouri; two nieces, Amy Baumann and Jessica Bernardy; and four nephews, Tony and Joe Baumann, Peter Bernardy and Christopher Pena. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon; a brother and sister at birth; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Aug. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford with Father Cyril Guise officiating. The family greeted relatives and friends on Monday at Shimon Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment at St. Kilian's Cemetery.

Verona A. Kadolph
Verona A. Kadolph (nee Gentz) of Hartford passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000 at the Community Memorial Hospital of Menomonee Falls. She was 88 years old.
She was born in the town of Herman on Nov. 13, 1911 to John and Lydia (nee Kamrath) Gentz and married Armund Kadolph on June 19, 1925 at Zum Kripplein Christi Lutheran Church.

Verona was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church Choir. She was a past president of the Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aide. She was a past member of Hartford Doers. She loved to cook and bake. She also enjoyed the outdoors, in her garden and planting flowers.

She is survived by one daughter, Elaine (Edmund) Key of Hartford; one son, Ronald (Judy) Kadolph of Rubicon; one daughter-in-law, Katherine Kadolph of Milwaukee; eight grandchildren, Deborah (John) Kerr of New Berlin, Michael (Tamara) Kadolph of Jackson, John (Cyndi) Kadolph of Milwaukee, Jeff (Lynn) Key of Brookfield, Bruce (Karen) Key of Green Bay, Kevin (Audrey) Key of West Allis, and Jennifer and Bonnie Kadolph, both of Rubicon; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Armund in 1975; son, Lloyd; two grandchildren, David and Mark Kadolph; two sisters, Erma (Edgar) Lichtenberg and Bernice Yoeckel; and three brothers, Edmund, Herbert, and Roland Gentz.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Huils-burg with Rev. Willard Marquardt officiating. Interment at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Huilsburg.

Memorials to Trinity Luthe-ran Church appreciated.

The Shimon Funeral Home assisted the family.
