Edgar R. McDonald
Edgar R. McDonald of Beaver Dam passed away on Friday, Aug. 18, 2000 at the Beaver Dam Care Center. He was 91 years old.
He was born in Tn Yucatan, Minn. to John and Esther (nee Ankerson) McDonald. He married Mabel Henschel Braunsch-weig on July 3, 1976.

Edgar owned and operated a Texaco Service Station in the Chicago area for 30 years. He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Woodland.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel of Beaver Dam; children, Judy (Larry) Mittelstadt of Fond du Lac, Donald (Darlene) Braun-schweig of Woodland, Peggy (Terry) Davolt of Shawnee, Kansas, Kenny (Diane) Braunschweig of East Troy, and Mark Braunschweig of Chatsworth, Georgia; one sister, Flora Minnick of Alberta, Canada; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters; one daughter, Emily Escobar; and two grandchildren, Aaron and Peggy Escobar.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 22 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Woodland with Rev. John G. Bonow officiating. Visitation was held prior to the service at the church from 1 to 4 p.m.

Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville served the family.

Mary Lou Lowe
Mary Lou Lowe (nee O'Leske) of West Bend passed away on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000 at St. Joseph's Community Hospital in West Bend. She was 56 years old.
She was born in the Town of Osborne in Outagamie County on Feb. 2, 1944 to the late Joseph and Margaret (nee Birringer) O'Leske. She was raised in Rubicon and graduated from St. John's High School.

Following her marriage to Roy Allen Lowe on April 30, 1966 in Waukegan, Ill., they settled in West Bend. Roy preceded her in death in 1979. For the last 34 years, she bravely fought Multiple Sclerosis while raising her daughters.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra (Donald) Schwinn of Klamath Falls, Ore. and Katherine M. Lowe of West Bend; two step-grandchildren, Timothy and Kristi Schwinn; two brothers, Joseph (Helen) O'Leske of Rubicon and Jerry (Mary) O'Leske of Fond du Lac; and a sister, Jean (Ralph) Kuechler of Rubicon. She is further survived by her mother-in-law, Florence Kastner of Mexico, Missouri; two brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her husband, Roy; a son, Roy Allen Lowe II; and her parents.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. at Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m.

Esther Schauer Frear
Esther Schauer Frear of Dover, Delaware passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000 in Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 90 years old.
She was born in Hartford on Aug. 29, 1909 to the late Edward and Louise A. Schauer.

Mrs. Frear was a graduate of Hartford High School and received her bachelor of arts degree in 1931 from Lawrence University in Appleton, where she majored in theater. Following graduation, she joined a traveling musical production company, The Chautauqua, which brought her to Dover and there she first met her husband, J. Allen Frear, Jr.

After marrying Mr. Frear in 1933, she began a life of homemaking, children, politics, and public service. She is well known and has accomplished many things throughout her years. She was recognized for the numerous contributions she made to her family, community, and nation.

She is survived by a son, Fred Frear of Dover; a daughter, Louise Frear Baylis (Richard) of Rehoboth, Del.; two granddaughters, Leanne F. Towner of North Muskegon, Mich. and Marla Lynn Frear of East Grand Rapids, Mich.; a grandson, Joseph Allen Frear, III; and a great-grandson, Dallas T. Town-er II of North Muskegon, Mich.

Mrs. Frear was preceded in death by her husband, the former U.S. Senator J. Allen Frear, Jr. on Jan. 15, 1993; a granddaughter, Allison Louise Frear in 1985; a sister, Mrs. Harold Greenhill; and a brother, Fred W. Schauer in 1995.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 25 at Christ Episcopal Church, S. State & Water St., Dover. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Christ Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 1374, Dover, Del. 19903; All Saints Church, 20 Olive Ave., Rehoboth, Del. 19971; or to the charity of your choice.

Ruth Larsen
Our Lord welcomed Ruth Larsen, nee Schaefer, into eternal life on Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at the age of 82.

She was born on June 1, 1918, in Milwaukee, to the late Louis and Mamie (nee Volk) Schaefer, and married Louis Larsen on Sept. 25, 1937, in Milwaukee.

He passed away on Dec. 5, 1993.

Ruth was a life-long resident of the Milwaukee area, living the past two years at Dove Health Care of Glendale.

She enjoyed crafting, especially crocheting and working on plastic canvas projects.

Survivors include a son, Robert (Sharon) of Livingston, Texas; four grandchildren, Mark (Judy) and Jill (Tom) Bohn, both of West Bend, Scott (Ann) of Theresa and Robert Jr. (Kim) of West Bend; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle, Max, Jon, Cozzi, Alex and Sam; two sisters, Vera Goetz of Menomonee Falls and Marie Wieting of Milwaukee; a brother, Louis (Laverne) of Milwaukee; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 25, at 5 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend. Entombment of the cremated remains will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.

Clarence P. Wolf
Clarence P. Wolf, 89, of Menomonee Falls, formerly of Germantown, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000.

He was the loving father of Joanna (Harold) Groth, Janice (Robert) Schmitt and Mary (Leon) Vore, and is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Esther.

Services were held, with the Schramka-Herrick Funeral Home, Milwaukee, assisting the family.

Jean V. Wessel
Funeral services will be held Saturday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1616 W. Mequon Rd., Mequon, for Jean V. Wessel, 80, who died Aug. 21, 2000.

Visitation will be at the church from 11 a.m., until the 1 p.m. service. Interment will be at the church cemetery. The Schramka-Densow Funeral Home, Thiensville, is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. Wessel was a lifelong member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband Clarence Wessel; daughter Julia Ann (James) Leichtle; son William (Carla) Wessel; grandchildren Christine (Pat) Brady, Steven Leichtle, Mitchell (Katie) Leichtle, Paul Leichtle, Sandra and Christy Wessel; great-grandchildren Rose Lynn, Kathryn and Luke; other relatives and friends.

Memorials to the church would be appreciated.

Marian I. Weiss
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church for Marian I. Weiss, 76, who died Aug. 18, 2000. Father Jerome Repenshek officiated at the ceremony with Schmidt Funeral Home assisting the family with arrangements. Burial was at Holy Angels Cemetery.
She was born on Oct. 21, 1923 in Slinger, to Antony and Frances (Graff) Kohl and married Frederick H. Weiss on Nov. 13, 1943 at Camp Murphy, Stuart, Fla.

She was employed as a clerk in the fabric department of Leys Department Store and later at King Kohl’s Hobby Shop until 1979 when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She was also a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and the Christian Women’s Confraternity.

She was a very talented seamstress and made many of her children’s clothes as well as her own. She also enjoyed boating with her family for many years and spending time at their home on Lake Winneconne.

For the past four years, Marian has resided with her husband at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center in West Bend.

Survivors include: husband of 56 years, Frederick; sons Michael (Beatrice) of New Fane, David (Patty) of Friess Lake; daughters Mary Jo (Larry) Carlton of West Bend and Kathleen (John) Brisky of Cedarburg; grandchildren: John (Michelle) Weiss of West Bend, Toni Weiss (friend, Craig Gloede) of Kewaskum, Kenneth (Bonnie) Weiss of Campbellsport, Brian Weiss of Hartland, Kevin Carlton of Eau Claire, Craig and Kerianne Carlton, both of West Bend, Kaysie Brisky of Thorntonville, Colo., and Noah and Amanda Brisky, both of Cedarburg; great-grandchild Joshua Riebe of Kewaskum; 2 sisters-in-law Edith Weiss of Garland, Texas and Dorothy Gorman of Sequim, Wash.

Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Lorraine Bradison and by her youngest son, Robert, in 1981.

Memorials or masses are appreciated.

Edward "Ed" R. Goetsch
A funeral service was held Wednesday at Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton for Edward "Ed" R. Goetsch, 81, who died Aug. 20, 2000. Rev. Jerome Petersen officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton. Interment was held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grafton.
Mr. Goetsch was born Sept. 28, 1918 in Milwaukee, son of Frederick and Anna (nee Kuehn) Goetsch. He married Ruth McClellan on April 21, 1943 in Detroit, Mich.

He retired from the Continental Can Company in 1981 and was a member of the 5th Division during WWII.

Survivors include: wife Ruth Goetsch of Grafton; sons Robert (Judy) Goetsch of East Troy, Marvin (Lois) Goetsch of Milwaukee; daughters Diana Goetsch of Grafton, Marsha (Dennis) Kastelic of Mequon; grandchildren Eric, Debra, Stephanie, Nichalas, Anne, Ryan, Melissa and Megan.

Further survived by nine great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sharon, three grandsons, John, Kevin and Paul, brother Raymond and sister Shirley.

Jeffrey A. Garlie
A funeral service was held Sunday at Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, for Jeffrey A. Garlie, 44, who died Aug. 16, 2000. Rev. Mark Wagner officiated at the ceremony, with Mueller Funeral Home assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Garlie was born Sept. 19, 1955 in Milwaukee, son of Allan and Geraldine (nee Krieger) Garlie. He married Chris Owsley on Oct. 27, 1973 in Wisconsin.

He worked as a journeyman and foreman for Iron Workers Local #8 and also served as past vice president and as a member. Mr. Garlie also served in the Army.

Survivors include: parents Allan and Geraldine Garlie of Milwaukee; wife Chris Garlie of Cedarburg; sons Jason Garlie of Milwaukee, Nick (fiancee Jennifer Smith) of Cedarburg; brothers Tim (Mary) Garlie of Greenfield, Tom (Marilyn) Garlie of Oak Creek; sisters Linda Glazewski of Milwaukee, Christine (Dave) Dziegielewski of Milwaukee; brother-in-law Mike (Mary) Owsley of Menomonee Falls; sister-in-law Tami (Todd) Leren of Colgate.

Further survived by iron-working brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
