Stanley M. Lipka
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sept. 2 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Madison, Ohio for Stanley M. Lipka, 85, who died on Aug. 25, 2000 in Mequon. Father Paul Smith will officiate at the ceremony. Poole Funeral Home of Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, Ohio.
Mr. Lipka was born Nov. 3, 1914 in Cleveland, Ohio, son of George and Anna (nee Mrocka) Lipka. He married Caroline Sarnecki on May 29, 1941 in Cleveland. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Lipka and his wife ran a neighborhood grocery store in Cleveland in 1956 and he retired in 1979. He moved to this area in 1996.

Survivors include: daughters Louise (Frank) Peterson of Fredonia, Anita (Mark) Nelson of Madison; son Martin (Mary Ann) Lipka of Middleburg, Ohio; daughter-in-law Linda Lipka of Townsend, Ga.; sisters Caroline Cwik of LaJolla, Calif., Helen Kolby of Las Vegas, Nev.

Further survived by 5 grandchildren, special friends Roman Didier and Wally Koepp.

He was proceded in death by his wife Caroline Lipka on Feb. 18, 1998 and his son Carl.

Charles E. Imbruglia
Charles E. Imbruglia of Mequon passed away Aug. 23, 2000, of a heart attack at age 55.
Born to Charles and LaVerne Imbruglia June 5, l945 in Milwaukee. He was joined by his sister Joy in l948. He grew up in Cedarburg, graduating from Cedarburg High School.

Mr. Imbruglia met his wife, Ellen (nee Kraeblen), while they were both in high school, at Trinity Lutheran Church where both of their families were members. He attended MATC for one year before enlisting in the army, spending two years in Okinawa in the Signal Corps. The couple was married at Trinity Lutheran Church June 14, l969, shortly after his discharge. They have two children, Michael,17, and Matthew, 14.

Mr. Imbruglia was always interested in technology. From ham radio, to TV repair, to sound systems to computers, he enjoyed tinkering with and collecting the latest electronic gizmo. For gatherings with the extended family, he was often in charge of carving the turkey or ham. He enjoyed ending a good meal with a cigar or his pipe. He was a former member of the Cedarburg Rescue Squad.

Mr. Imbruglia was especially proud of his business venture, Custom Print & Stitch. He had a dedicated crew of employees, whom he considered to be extended family. He rose at 4:40 a.m. each day so he could be in his office by 6 a.m.

Mr. Imbruglia was an active volunteer at Crossroads Presbyterian Church. He taught Sunday School and was a church deacon. He could be found in the church kitchen washing dishes for Youth Club most Wednesday evenings or running the sound system on a Sunday for one of the services.

He was a devoted father. Mr. Imbruglia faithfully attended the boys’ school concerts and open houses and cross country meets. He spent summer evenings for the past nine years cheering or coaching their Little League teams or watching the boys "ump" a game.

Mr. Imbruglia is survived by his wife, Ellen, and their sons, Michael and Matthew, of Mequon. He is also survived by his parents, Charles and LaVerne Imbruglia of Jackson; his sister, Joy of Jackson; his father- and mother-in-law, Richard and Marie Kraeblen of Mequon; one niece, nephews, relatives, friends and co-workers. A memorial service was held Tuesday at Crossroads Presbyterian Church.

Memorials to the American Heart Association, Crossroads Presbyterian Church or the Ozaukee Humane Society are appreciated.

Paul Christopher Honkavaara
A funeral service was held Sunday at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, for Paul Christopher Honkavaara, 17, who died Aug. 22, 2000. Rev. Randy Raasch officiated at the service, with Mueller Funeral Home, assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Honkavaara was born Nov. 15, 1982 in Fresno, Calif., son of Marna Henry and Paul M. Honkavaara.

He had lived in Cedarburg and Clovis, Calif. since 1984 and would have been a senior at Cedarburg High School. His interests included his many friendships, soccer, Frisbee golf, art, glass blowing, fly fishing, ping pong, music, photography, his dogs Cocoa and Star, traveling and the outdoors.

Favorite travels of his included a soccer tour in Europe, hiking in Colorado and snorkling in the Yucatan. He enjoyed fly fishing in Alaska and Oregon, and deep-sea and fly fishing in Hawaii and Florida. Trips to Africa the Caribbean had been planned for this year.

Survivors include: parents Marna Henry and Paul M. Honkavaara; sisters Christine, who attends Mount Mary College, and Jennifer, who attends Fresno Christian School; stepparents Rick Henry and Catherine Honkavaara, and Jennifer’s mom, Lori; grandparents Thomas and Lorraine Rosenberg of Mequon; aunts and uncles Kenton and Pam Rosenberg of Cedarburg, John and Marina Rosenberg of Mequon, Deborah Steinman of Prescott, Ariz. and Steve Simon and Kate Marck of Hawaii; and cousins Mark, Katie, Amy, Laura, Matthew, Erika, Tyler, Lauren, David, Melissa and Michele.

Christopher was preceded in death by his uncle, Kirke Rosenberg, and his grandparents Helen and Paul Honkavaara.

Memorials in Chris’ name may be made to the Cedarburg Community Scholarship Fund.

Walter C. Kirchberger
Walter C. Kirchberger, 75, of West Bend, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, at his residence.
He was born in Milwaukee on Nov. 20, 1924, to the late Arthur and Margaret (nee Szep) Kirchberger.

After finishing high school he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and flew as a navigator in B-17s over Europe during World War II.

On July 19, 1947, he was united in marriage to Ellen Zieper in Stevens Point.

Walter attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated with an engineering degree in 1951.

From 1951 until his retirement in 1986, he was employed as a mechanical engineer at Johnson Controls in Milwaukee.

After his retirement Walter worked part time at Tri-County YMCA in Menomonee Falls and made everyone feel special, especially the kids. He knew them all by name.

Although a consummate engineer, his greatest legacy was his big heart, and love for the Lord, his family, friends, and co-workers.

He will be missed by many.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Gary (Maria) of Bothell, Wash., John (Mary) of Germantown and Jim (Tracy) of Menomonee Falls; eight grandchildren; a brother, Rudolph (Doris) Kirchberger of Mequon; a brother-in-law, Robert (Mary) Zieper of Eden Prairie, Minn.; other relatives and many friends.

Preceding him in death were a sister, Marie; a niece, Joan Erhardt; and a nephew, Don Kirchberger.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Slinger, where he was a member.

Rev. Alan Lindberg will officiate, and burial will be Saturday in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation will be Friday at the church only from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials to St. Luke Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association are appreciated.

Marvin E. Schommer
Marvin E. Schommer, 74, of West Bend, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 1. 1926, in Hastings, Minn., to the late Nicholas and Alvina (nee Rubin) Schommer. At an early age, the family moved to South Milwaukee where he grew up.

During World War II, he served on a minesweeper in the U.S. Navy, both in the Atlantic and Pacific theatres.

After his discharge, Marv studied at machinists' school and became a tool and die maker, working at various tool and die shops prior to his retirement.

Marvin was united in marriage to Marilyn D. Perkins on Nov. 29, 1947, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum.

Survivors include his wife; 10 children, Nick (Janet) of Darien, Joanne (Fred) Harris of Flagstaff, Ariz., Gary (Debra) of Menomonee Falls, Dan (Amy) of Fredonia, Mark, Bob, Fred (Patty), Rick (Kristi), Mary (Gary) Wild and Brian (Lynn), all of West Bend; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three sisters, Lucille (Harold) Nischke of Kewaskum, Marcella Kleineider of Greeley, Colo. and Frances (Alex) Beck of Oregon, Wis.; a brother, James (Delores) of Berlin; two brothers-in-law, Harold Perkins and Marvin (Shirley) Perkins, both of Kewaskum; two sisters-in-law, Viola Lawrenz of Cleveland, Wis. and Patricia Kirschling of Cable; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were two sisters, his twin Mary M. Schommer and Eileen Perkins, and two brothers, Louis and Clarence "Bud."

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 2, at 9:30 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Father Gerald Brittain will preside with burial following at Holy Angels Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home after 4 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 8 p.m. and also Saturday morning prior to the services.

Jacob "Jack" Schlosser
Jacob "Jack" Schlosser, 88, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 24, 1911, in Kewaskum, to the late Jacob and Jennie (Strobel) Schlosser Sr., and had made his home in Phoenix for the past 26 years.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were four brothers, John, Joseph and Harold Schlosser, and Edward Brandt, and four sisters, Kathryn Warner, Helen Halfmann, Lillian Schlosser and Margaret Dreher.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum.

Father Mark Jones will officiate, and burial of the cremains will follow in the parish cemetery.

The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is serving the family.

Ardelle E. Rellihan
Ardelle E. Rellihan, nee Cosley, of West Bend passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at Cedar Lake Health Care Center, West Bend, at the age of 90.
She was born on March 25, 1910, in Julia, Iowa, to the late Joseph and Mae (nee Hahn) Cosley and she married Walter "Bud" Rellihan in November of 1931 in Walford, Iowa. Her husband preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1949.

Ardelle was employed by Spiegel Inc. for 20 years, retiring to Little Rock, Ark., where she resided for 25 years.

Ardelle was the loving wife of the late Walter "Bud" Rellihan; loving mother of Mary Ann (James) McKinnon of West Bend, Kathleen (Dunae) Huff of Guilford, Maine, and Patricia (James) Tucker of Kansas City, Mo.; devoted grandmother of Kevin (Lori) McKinnon, Patrick (Toni) McKinnon, Timothy (Mary) McKinnon, Kelly (Robert) Cada and Corlin Tucker; great-grandmother of Timothy, Joseph, Douglas, Stacy, Christopher, Nicholas and George; and is further survived by nieces; nephews; great-nieces; a great-great niece and many dear friends in Arkansas.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, Sept. 11 at noon at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend, with Rev. Gerald Brittain presiding. Friends may gather with the family at the church on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Dubuque, Iowa, on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Holy Hill, 1525 Carmel Road, Hubertus, WI 53033-9407 are appreciated.
