Valeria H. Greget
Valeria H. Greget (nee Rheingans) of Hartford passed away on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000 peacefully at her daughter's home. She was 66 years old.

She was born in Batavia on Jan. 23, 1934 to Albert and Alfrieda Rheingans. She married Charles E. Greget at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford.

Valeria worked for Wacker Corporation for 42 years.

She is survived by her husband, Charles of Hartford; a daughter, Mary B. (Chris) Dubey of Hartford; two sons, Tracy L. and Bill J. Greget, both of Hartford; five grandchildren, Chuck, Tiffany, Nicholas, and Jordan Dubey and Justin Greget; and a sister, Nancy Rheingans of Kewaskum. Valeria is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Oct. 9 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford with Father Franklyn Becker officiating. Family greeted relatives and friends on Sunday at the Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer vigil on Sunday at 7 p.m. Interment at St. Kilian Cemetery, Hartford.

Memorials to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic appreciated.

Celia M. Friedli
Celia M. Friedli (nee Kreger) of Neosho passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000 at the LaCrosse Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse. She had recently moved to a LaCrosse Health Care Center to be closer to her daughter and family after a recent decline in health. She was 88 years old.

She was born in Post Lake on May 11, 1912 to Charles and Mabel Kreger.

Celia is survived by two daughters, Dawn Buckley of Hustisford and Holly (Rick) Knuth of Stoddard; and two grandchildren, Rebecca and Zachary Knuth. She is further survived by sisters, brothers, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Lester Rockel and Wallace Friedli; and son-in-law, Barry Buckley on Sept. 18, 2000.

A Memorial Service was held on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Neosho. A time of fellowship followed the service. Inurnment Woodlawn Cemetery, Neosho.

Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford assisted the family.

Marie F. Cleary
Marie F. Cleary (nee Philippi) of Hartford died on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000 at Alexian Village in Milwaukee. She was 78 years old.
She was born in West Bend on Jan. 30, 1922 to Alban and Susan (nee Laufer) Philippi. She graduated from West Bend High School and married A. John "A.J." Cleary on June 24, 1950 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend.

She was a member of St. John's Church, Monches, and the Christian Mother's Society. Until April of this year, Marie lived in the town of Erin where she and her husband operated a dairy farm that has been in the Cleary family since 1868 and which is currently farmed by her son, Thomas Cleary.

She is the loving mother of Catherine (James) Wilbert, Patricia (Patrick) Hansen and Thomas (Diane) Cleary, all of Hartford; beloved grandmother of Sean (fiancee Kelly Schaumann) Hansen, Johanna Wilbert, Elizabeth (fiance Marc Kuntz) Hansen, Daniel Cleary and John Cleary; dear sister of Evelyn Fischer, Laverne (Tom) Winkler, Harold (Dolores) Wilmer, Edward (Kathy) and Donald (Pat) Philippi; fond sister-in-law of Leroy Hausmann. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister, Jeanette Hausmann.

A Funeral Mass was held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 30 at St. John Church, Monches. Visitation on Saturday at the church only, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment to follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Thompson.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Michael Tye, the staff of Hartford Memorial Hospital and the caring staff of Alexian Village.

Masses appreciated.

Elroy ‘Shu’ Schumacher
Elroy A. "Shu" Schumacher, 70, of Hartford, passed away suddenly on Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at the Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born May 29, 1930, in Milwaukee, to the late Herbert and Cora (nee Hill) Schumacher, and married Patricia Marx on June 6, 1953, at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford.

Elroy served his country in the National Guard.

He was a member of the Hartford Lions Club and was a volunteer firefighter for the city of Hartford for 27 years.

Elroy worked at International Stamping for 37 years, and enjoyed fishing and hunting, the Slinger Speedway races, collecting baseball cards, and going to the kids’ activities.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jan Schumacher (friend Gary Mapes) of West Bend and Kim (Robert) Vaughan of Hartford; a son, Gregory (Cherie) of Waukesha; four grandchildren, Jamie, Trevor, Katelyn and Emily; a brother, Donald (Carol) of Hartford; a brother-in-law, Ronald (Bonnie) Marx of Hartford; a sister-in-law, Beatrice Marx of Hartford; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Oct. 12, at 5:30 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford.

Fr. Michael Petrie will officiate, and inurnment will be in St. Kilian's Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends Thursday at the church only from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Memorials to St. Kilian's Building Fund are appreciated.

The Shimon Funeral Home of Hartford is assisting the family.

Doris S. Kramer
Funeral services were held on Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, Grafton, for Doris S. Kramer, 81, who died on Oct. 6, 2000. Interment is at Riverside Cemetery, Menominee, Mich. Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton, assisted the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Kramer was born Oct. 11, 1918 in Menominee, Mich. the daughter of Theron and Mae (nee Lynch) Caldie.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Grafton and had been active in the Charity Mission Circle, a quilting group.

Survivors include: daughters Sandra (Paul) Sorensen of Grafton and Margaret (Alois) Bocek of Crandon; sons Peter (Janel) Kramer of Delafield, Jack (Sally) Kramer of Bedford, Ind. and Tim (Pam) Kramer of Milwaukee; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Sylvia (Andrew) Kokott of Menominee, Mich.; brothers Theron (Esther) Caldie and Jack (Shirley) Caldie of California, Edwin (Virginia) Caldie of St. Paul, Minn. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin, brother Dickie, sister Margaret and a grandson Richard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Grace Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

Georgette A. Geske
Funeral services were held on Monday at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, for Georgette A. Geske, 75, who died on Oct. 5, 2000. Rev. Randolph Raasch officiated at the ceremony, with Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, assisting the family with arrangements. Burial was held at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg.

Mrs. Geske was born December 16, 1924 in Brussels, Belgium to the late Servais & Juliette Paulissen. She married Richard B. Geske in Milwaukee on July 20, 1946.

Georgette and Richard were happily married for 54 years. Mrs. Geske shared her gift of languages by teaching German and French at Cedarburg High School for 26 years. She also was an active member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: husband Richard B. Geske of Cedarburg; daughter Justice Janine (Michael J. Hogan) Geske of Delafield; son Mark (Emily) Geske of Greenville, S.C.; grandchildren, Mia Berman, Sarah and Kevin Hogan, Amanda and Christopher Geske.

Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Memorials to the church appreciated.

Ellen Wolfgram, 79
Ellen Wolfgran, nee Kressin, 79, of West Bend, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital Ozaukee.

She was born Sept. 20, 1921, in Freistadt, to the late Gustave and Clara (nee Wendt) Kressin, and married the late Raymond A. Kressin on April 7, 1945, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Freistadt.

She was a homemaker and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church, Grafton.

Survivors include her daughter, Joyce (Richard) Weber of West Bend; two grandchildren, Bradley (Julie) Weber of Grafton and Jacquelyn (fiance Jeremy Gast) Weber of Waupaca; two sisters, Norma (Wilmer) Ehlke of West Bend and Rose Kurth of Cedarburg; two sisters-in-law, Helen Wolfgram of Cedarburg and Elnora (Melvin) Veloon of Hartford; a brother-in-law, Elmer (Lucille) Wolfgram of Cedarburg; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 13, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Grafton, with entombment in Washington County Memorial Park.

Visitation at the church only will be Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

The Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, is assisting the family.

William H. Funk Jr., 73
William H. "Bill or Butch" Funk Jr., 73, of Slinger, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at the Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau.

He was born July 12, 1927, in the town of Polk, to the late William and Alma (Arndt) Funk Sr., and married Betty J. Baier on Aug. 31, 1956, in Slinger.

After their marriage the couple lived in the town of Polk.

He was employed as a welder for Stopler Steel of Menomonee Falls and Brookfield for over 40 years, retiring in 1992.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Slinger.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, James (Sheryl) of Waupun and Jeff (Jenny) of the town of Polk; a grandson, Andrew Funk of the town of Polk; two sisters, Edna Eller and Irene Gessner, both of the town of Polk; a sister-in-law, Florence Funk of the town of Polk; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were a son, Richard; two brothers, Harold and Albert; and a sister, Adeline Ciriacks.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 14, at 4 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, Slinger.

Pastor John Tshudy will officiate, and interment will follow the services in Union Cemetery, Slinger.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Saturday from noon until the time of services.
