Grace A. Scharf
Grace A. Scharf (nee Selsing) of Wisconsin Dells, formerly of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000 at her home. She was 68 years old.

She was born in Mount Morris on Jan. 14, 1932 to Marvin and Clara (nee Simonson) Selsing. She married Dave Scharf on July 5, 1952 in Fort Smith, Ark.

Grace enjoyed crafts and golfing.

She is survived by her husband, Dave; two daughters, Claire Bolek of Medina, Ohio and Diane Sandoval of Colorado Springs, Col.; two grandchildren, Heather of Medina, Ohio and Mark of Colorado Springs, Col.; a sister, Merna Lynch of South Milwaukee; three brothers, Clifford (Ann) of Hartford, Duane (Jean) of Rubicon, and Richard (Joan) Selsing of Hartford; and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Selsing of Hartford and Julia Selsing of Berlin. Grace is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles and Leroy Selsing; a brother-in-law, Elroy Lynch; and a niece, Ruth Kurtz.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 5 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hartford with Rev. David Beckstrom officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends Thursday at the Shimon Funeral Home from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Darwin A. Martinson
Darwin A. Martinson of Iron Ridge passed away in Green Bay surrounded by his loving family. He entered his eternal home on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000 after a courageous battle with emphysema. He was 78 years old.

He was born in Oldham, South Dakota on May 14, 1922 to Ida Mae and Charles Martin Martinson. He married Florence Sonnenburg on Feb. 17, 1954 in Waukegan, Ill. She preceded him in death. He married Sally Margelowsky on March 28, 1981 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge.

He served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 5, 1942 until Sept. 30, 1949 as a mess sergeant. He moved to Wisconsin in 1949 after having served military duties in Austin, Tex., France, Germany, and Holland. Darwin retired from Miller Brewery in 1984.

He is survived by his wife, Sally; five sons, Howard (Linda) Martinson of Campbellsport, Edward (Melodee) Martinson of Crivitz, Richard Martinson (fiancee Suzanne Moureau) of Green Bay, Charles (Barbara) Martinson of DePere, and stepson Robert (Jean) Loehrke of Mayville; four daughters, Darlene (Thomas) Hoffmann of Fond du Lac, Charlene Trajkovic (fiance David Balza) of Green Bay, and stepdaughters, Lori (Don) McLester of Oneida and Lisa Braun of Mayville; 24 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Florence; his only brother, Edward; daughter, Marlene Marie Martinson; and two grandsons, James Robert Martinson and Thomas Scott Hoffmann.

Funeral Services with Military Honors were held on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford with Rev. Geoffrey Hoy officiating. Family greeted relatives and friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 3 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family appreciated.

Todd J. Hansen
Todd J. Hansen passed away on Friday, Nov. 3, 2000. He was 31 years old.

He was a 1987 graduate of Hartford Union High School. Todd attended MATC and earned a degree in landscape management. He was the proprietor of Loader Services which provided bulldozer and large equipment services, and was a member of the Operating Union of Engineers.

Todd is the loving husband of Julie (nee Banaszak) 'Precious;' special father of Nicole, Crystal, and Brittany; beloved son of Neal and Carol Hansen; dear brother of Scott (Julie); beloved uncle of Stephaine and Kandace Hansen; beloved grandson of Dorothea Leininger; best friend of John Dudzik and John Bezold. Todd is further survived by other relatives and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hilbert and Isabella Hansen and Leroy Leininger.

Visitation was held on Monday, Nov. 6 at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, Sussex from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service at 7:30 p.m. Burial took place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at St. Augustine's Cemetery, Richfield.

Memorials to Northbrook Church or St. Mary's of the Hill appreciated.

Robert J. Haase
Robert J. Haase died peacefully on Friday, Nov. 3, 2000 at his farm in rural Juneau after a difficult struggle with cancer. He was 73 years old.

He was born in Reeseville on May 6, 1927. He and his wife, Marita, were lifelong dairy farmers. While a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Clyman, Robert was a dedicated member of the choir. He later continued as a choir member at his current parish, St. Peter's Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Family, friends, farming, singing and humor were significant parts of Robert's well-lived and much loved life.

He is survived by his wife, Marita H. (nee Weisensel) Haase; children, Barbara M. (Arthur Eith) Haase of Watertown, Judt A. (Arden Hardie) Haase of Blair, Howard G. Haase of Union Grove, Joseph A. (Cheryl) Haase of Horicon, and Loraine (Anthony Dryak) Haase of Taylor. Loving grandfather of Arthur R-H Eith, Paula, Lydia and Claudia Hardie, Jared and Kayla Haase, Joshua, Genevieve, Mariama and Mahalia Dryak. Dear brother of Margaret and Howard Haase of Clyman, Richard (Lorna) Haase of Juneau, Jane (Russell) Selchert of Juneau, Janet Haase of Juneau, Bernice Haase of West Bend, Mary Sanders of Janesville, Jerome A. (Dorothy) Haase of Clyman; and his sister-in-law Jackie Haase of Beaver Dam.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Walter J. and Marie GeorgeAnn (nee Walsh) Haase; one daughter, Ann; and a brother, Ralph.

Visitation was held on Monday, Nov. 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 7 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. Parish vigil service took place on Monday at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday at the church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Howard G. Haase officiating. His Excellence Bishop Richard J. Sklba gave the final commendation. Interment St. Isidore's Cemetery, Clyman.

The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home served the family.

The family of Robert J. Haase extends special words of appreciation to the staff of Hillside Hospice Care, Hillside Hospital, University Hospital-Madison, doctors, nurses, family and friends who supported Bob as he lived with cancer. The kindness, gentleness, and warmth they displayed made this journey for Bob and his family much easier. God's peace and blessings are extended to you.

Lawrence P. Gass
Lawrence P. Gass of Hartford passed away on Friday, Nov. 3, 2000 at the Hartford Memorial Hospital. He was 81 years old.

He was born in the Town of Addison on Aug. 10, 1919 to John and Christine (nee Heinecke) Gass. He married Mary Jane Ritger on Aug. 2, 1947 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Allenton.

Lawrence was a farmer. After retiring from farming, he worked for Leimbach Construction and Northern Lakes Construction. He was one of the original members of the Allenton American Legion Post #483. He was a member of St. Kilian Church. Lawrence served his country in the United States Army during W.W. II.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; two sisters, Isabella Schaefer of St. Anthony and Frances Zingsheim of West Bend. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his three children at birth; six sisters; and one brother.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford with Father James Strupp officiating. Family greeted relatives and friends on Monday at the church from 6 to 7 p.m. Inurnment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Allenton.

Memorials to American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or the charity of one's choice appreciated.

Georgia A. Simons
Georgia A. Simons, 82, of Kewaskum passed away on Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.
She was born on Aug. 21, 1918, in West Allis, to the late George and Katie (Green) Clow, and on Jan. 7, 1943, was united in marriage with George Simons in Milwaukee.

Her husband passed away Feb. 29, 1976.

Mrs. Simons was a member of Kewaskum Living Waters Church.

Survivors include four children, David of Batavia, James of West Bend, Cheri Lee (Ronald) Staehler of Eden and Dawn Louise (Dennis) Hanson of Kingman, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a son, Lawrence, a brother, and 12 sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, at Kewaskum Living Waters Church, with Rev. Joseph Brath officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. until the time of services at the church only.

In honor of her wishes, cremation has taken place.

The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is serving the family.

Anita Neumann
Anita Neumann, 79, of Kewaskum, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.
She was born Jan. 28, 1921, in the town of Fredonia, the daughter of the late George and Anna (Grabinger) Huiras, and on March 20, 1941, married Walter Neumann at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Fredonia.

The couple farmed in the town of Kewaskum for many years.

Anita's favorite pastimes were tending her garden and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Neumann was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Roger (Ann) of Kewaskum; five grandchildren, Nancy, Christine, Carol, John and Michael Neumann; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Huiras of Fredonia; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Wilfred and Lester Huiras.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Father Mark Jones will officiate, and burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation will be at the church only on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is serving the family.

Dorothy K. Millonig
Dorothy K. Millonig, nee Gust, 84, of West Bend, formerly of Milwaukee, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.
She was born Dec. 4, 1915, in Milwaukee, to the late Maximillian and Katherine (nee Scherger) Gust, and married William J. Millonig Sr. on Nov. 23, 1935, in Milwaukee.

He passed away on June 30, 1989.

Dorothy had worked as a bookkeeper at Adelman Laundry, Milwaukee, for many years.

She enjoyed sewing, painting and working with crafts.

In 1990 she moved from Milwaukee to live at Cedar Ridge in West Bend. At that time she also became a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Survivors include three children, Dorene (Gerald) Sedlar of Wauwatosa, William J. Jr. (Susan) of Campbellsport and Bonnie (Ed) Sadler of Hartland; 12 grandchildren, Laura (William) Lukaczyk, Jeffrey (Nancy) Sedlar, James Sedlar, Susan Sedlar, Douglas (Amy) Sedlar, Kate Millonig, Matthew Millonig, Becky Millonig, Jennifer (John) Hauser, Craig Sadler, Kristine Sadler and Keri Sadler; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was a grandson, Ryan David Millonig.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Fr. Jerry Brittain will be the presider, and burial will be held Saturday at 10:45 a.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Milwaukee.

Visitation at the church only will be Friday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of Mass.

Memorials to the Cedar Lake Health Care Center are appreciated.

The Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.
