Carl J. Heritsch Sr.
Carl J. Heritsch Sr., 86, of West Bend, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at the Samaritan Health Center.
He was born Dec. 28, 1913, in Milwaukee, to the late Frank and Elizabeth (nee Schiesel) Heritsch, and married Marie Bauer on Oct. 9, 1943, in Milwaukee.

His wife passed away on April 6, 1989.

Carl worked at the former Keller's Beverage Center in Milwaukee for 35 years, and in 1971 moved to West Bend where he owned and operated Carl's Choice Liquor for many years.

He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church of West Bend, Knights of Columbus Fr. Casper Rehrl Council 1964, West Bend, and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Survivors include two sons, Carl (Carol) Heritsch Jr. and James Heritsch, both of West Bend; two granddaughters, Yvette Heritsch of Washington D.C. and Sarah Heritsch of West Bend; two sisters, Marianne (Franklin) Putnam of Fenton, Mich. and Elizabeth Heritsch of Whitefish Bay; a brother, Alfred Heritsch of Whitefish Bay; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was a brother, Frank.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, at St. Frances Cabrini Parish, West Bend.

Rev. Jeffrey Haines will be the presider and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Friday after 4 p.m., with a prayer vigil at 7:45 p.m., and at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Frank R. Winter
A funeral service was held Tuesday at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg for Frank R. Winter, 94, who died Nov. 18, 2000. Interment was at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield. Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Winter was born Dec. 30, 1905 in Germany to the late William and Amanda (nee Carlson) Winter, and married Irene Wiese on Oct. 6, 1934 in Hamburg.

He worked for Fromm Brothers and Nieman Fox & Mink Farm for many years and retired from Pioneer Container in Cedarburg.

Survivors include: children Patricia (Albert) Linquiti of Santa Barbara, Calif., William (Ursula) Winter of Cedarburg and Eunice (Edward) Tarcin of Cedar Grove; grandchildren Alicia (Erick) Phillips of Carlsbad, Calif., Charles and Ross Linquiti of Santa Barbara, Calif., Michelle (Chris) Proehl of Cedarburg, Christina (Todd) Scheer of Mequon and Scott (Lynn) Winter of Cedarburg; sister-in-law Lucille Bexheimer of Grafton.

Further survived by eight great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Winter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the First Immanuel Lutheran Church are appreciated.

Edward Straszewski
Funeral services were held on Wednesday at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington for Edward Straszewski, 87, who died on Nov. 19, 2000. Father Ed Wawrzyniakowski officiated at the ceremony.
Mr. Straszewski was born May 18, 1913 in Milwaukee, son of Stephen and Frances (nee Glogowski) Straszewski. He married Bernice Prange at St. Hedwig’s Church in Milwaukee on June 24, 1939.

He worked as a driver for Milwaukee Transit until retiring and moving to the Waupaca area. The couple returned to Cedarburg to make their home with their son and daughter-in-law. He was a licensed pilot and was a member of Local 998 Milwaukee Transit Union.

Survivors include: wife Bernice Straszewski of Cedarburg; son Ed (Mary) Straszewski of Cedarburg; daughter Carole Lamp of Thiensville; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers Dominic Straszewski of Milwaukee and George Koporowski of Milwaukee; sister Estelle Straszewski of Milwaukee.

He was preceded in death by brother John Straszewski and sister Harriet Koepke.

Memorials to Ozaukee Humane Society in Grafton or Village At Manor Park-Ruth Hospice in Milwaukee are appreciated.

Arnold William Groth
A funeral service will be held today at 1 p.m. at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, for Arnold William Groth, 84, who died Nov. 19, 2000. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Rev. Wilmer Reichmann will officiate at the ceremony with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg. Burial will be at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg.
Mr. Groth was born Dec. 5, 1915 in Cedarburg, son of Louis and Christina (nee Rheingans) Groth. He married Selma (nee Jaeger) on Oct. 5, 1940 at First Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Mr. Groth served as the 5th District alderman in the City of Cedarburg, followed by a two-year term as county supervisor during the early 1950s. In the 1960s he was the town clerk for the Town of Cedarburg as well as an electrician and small appliance repairman. He was also a partner in Lange and Groth Realty for many years.

He was executive secretary for Cedarburg Chamber of Commerce for over 35 years and was a mainstay at the Ozaukee County Fair for 45 years. He gave up his secretary position with the fair in 1994 and was still serving in other capacities.

Survivors include: daughters Sandra (John) Knuth of Cedar Grove and Shirley (Alan) Slavick of Soldiers Grove; son Robert Groth of Grafton; sisters-in-law Anita (Roland) Krause of Cedarburg, Viola Mass of Cedarburg, Erna (Robert) Stecker of Cedarburg, Eunice (Glenn) Frank of Cedarburg, Ruth (Allen) Krueger of Hartford, Darlene (Robert) Ladwig of Sheboygan and Linda Jaeger of Cedarburg; brothers-in-law Carl (Vera) Jaeger of Mequon, Martin (Delores) Jaeger of Grafton and Harry Viesselmann of Cedarburg; grandchildren Bonnie (Dale) Gramlow, John (Megumi) Knuth, David Knuth and Melissa (Geoff) Steiger; special friend Sally Lawrenz of Random Lake; and five great-grandchildren.

Further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Selma and an infant brother.

Memorials to First Immanuel Lutheran Church are appreciated.

Rose L. Schaefer
Rose L. Schaefer, nee Boesewetter, 98, of West Bend, passed away on Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at the Samaritan Health Center.
She was born April 17, 1902, in West Bend, to the late Edward and Anna (Bingenheimer) Boesewetter, and on June 22, 1929, married Carl F. Schaefer.

He passed away on Dec. 22, 1970.

Mrs. Schaefer was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum, and was a former member of the Ladies Guild.

Survivors include three children, Charles (Judy) Schaefer of Nevada City, Calif., Barbara (Arthur) Tonsager of Redding, Calif. and Diane (Eugene) Courtois of San Francisco, Calif.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a brother and three sisters.

Inurnment of her cremains will be in Peace United Church of Christ Cemetery, Kewaskum.

The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is assisting the family.

Roger A. Justman
Roger A. Justman, 50, of the Wausau area, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, as the result of an automobile accident.
Roger was born Jan 20, 1950, in Beaver Dam, to Arthur and Verona (Keller) Justman, and married Dorothy Bublitz on July 22, 1972 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford.

Roger graduated from St. Matthew's Lutheran Grade School, Iron Ridge and Hartford Union High School in 1968. He attended Carthage College in Kenosha and was employed at the Wausau Insurance Company for over 20 years.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Weston, past president of the Northland Lutheran High School Board of Directors, and served on numerous church boards at Our Saviors and Redeemer churches.

Roger played summer league softball in Wausau and volunteered at the Dime and Dollar Store. He was very involved and active with his children, and a loving husband and father.

Survivors include a son, Jared Justman of Milwaukee; two daughters, Jodi Justman of Tacoma, Wash., and Rebecca Justman of Wausau; his parents, Arthur and Verona Justman of Iron Ridge; seven brothers and sisters, Merlin Justman of Mayville, Beverly (Harney) Freitag of, McFarland, Marvin Justman of Horicon, Roy (Bonnie) Justman of West Bend, Barbara (Gary) Beck of Green Bay, Ralph (Melissa) Justman of Iron Ridge, and Dori (Dan) Vollmer of Mayville; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 24,at Northland Lutheran High School, Wausau, from to 7 p.m., with a service at 7 p.m.

On Saturday a funeral service will be held at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hartford at 3 p.m. with visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church.

Japheth A. Justman
Japheth A. Justman, 17, of the Wausau area, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, as the result of an automobile accident.
Japheth was born March 19, 1983, in Wausau, to Roger and Dorothy (Bublitz) Justman.

He graduated from St. Peter's Lutheran Grade School and was a Senior at Northland Lutheran High School, Wausau.

He was a member of the Northland Northwinds Choir, and was active in soccer, track and basketball and was on the yearbook staff.

Japheth was an avid race fan and was a member of the pit crew for Wayne Breintenfeldt.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Weston.

Survivors include a brother, Jared Justman of Milwaukee; two sisters, Jodi Justman of Tacoma, Wash., and Rebecca Justman of Wausau; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Verona Justman of Iron Ridge; maternal grandparents, Alfred and Fern Bublitz of Hartford; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday at Northland Lutheran High School, Wausau, from 3 to 7 p.m., with a service at 7 p.m.

On Saturday a funeral service will be held at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hartford at 3 p.m. with visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church.

Dorothy R. "Dotti" Justman
Dorothy R. "Dotti" Justman, 50, of the Wausau area, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, as the result of an automobile accident.

She was born Aug. 14, 1950, in Hartford, to Alfred and Fern (Derge) Bublitz, and married Roger Justman on July 22, 1972 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford.

Dorothy was a 1968 graduate of Hartford Union High School. She graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran College and Dr. Martin Luther College.

She taught at Trinity Lutheran School, West Bend, for several years and later started teaching again at St. Peter's Lutheran School in Schofield where she was a teacher for over 10 years.

She played the organ in many area Lutheran churches for many years in the Wausau area. She also taught piano lessons for many years and was a certified swimming instructor.

Dotti was a member of the church choir and an active church member. She was very involved and active with her children and a loving wife and mother.

Survivors include a son, Jared Justman of Milwaukee; two daughters, Jodi Justman of Tacoma, Wash., and Rebecca Justman of Wausau; her parents, Alfred and Fern Bublitz of Hartford; five brothers and sisters, Daniel Bublitz of Cedarburg, Janis (Rev. Jerome) Enderle of Lees Summit, Mo., James (Emily) Bublitz of Juneau, Elaine (Paul) Knack of Hustisford, Kenneth (Missy) Bublitz of Streator, Ill., and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 24, at Northland Lutheran High School, Wausau, from 3 to 7 p.m., with a service at 7 p.m.

On Saturday a funeral service will be held at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hartford at 3 p.m. with visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church.

The Hayden Funeral Home, Schofield and the Murray Community Funeral Home of Horicon are serving the families.
