Ellyn E. Harris
A memorial service will be held today at Christ Lutheran Church in Cape Coral, Fla. for Ellyn E. Harris, 94, formerly of Grafton.

Survivors include: children David L. Harris, Carol (Sue) Hurd, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces, a nephew, two step-grandchildren, friend Violet Stempel, other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 2911 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33094.

Dale W. Norstrant
Dale W. Norstrant, 79, of West Bend, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.

He was born in Waupun on Sept. 4, 1921, to the late Ray and Alma (nee Crossett) Norstrant, and was raised in Berlin.

After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the European Theater during World War II.

On Sept. 27, 1946, he married Marion Wilson in Berlin where they made their home until moving to West Bend in 1956.

Dale was the vice president and comptroller at the West Bend Savings Bank until retiring in 1983. He was also a member of the Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, West Bend.

Survivors include his wife; a sister-in-law, Floriene Ericson of Bonduel; three nieces, Linda (Wayne) Zuehlke of Waupun, Jane (Harold) Rogers of Hayes, Kan. and Inez (James) Trantow of Waupaca; four nephews, Kenneth Nowak of Marion, Iowa, Dr. Wayne (Marilyn) Ericson of Normal, Ill., Lee (Kristyne) Ericson of Green Bay and Willis (Judy) Seabrook of Madison.

Preceding him in death were a sister, Mary Nowak; a sister-in-law, Alice Fuller; and two nephews, Donald Nowak and Jerry Fuller.

Private family services will be held at the Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church.

Rev. William Dushek will officiate, and inurnment will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association are appreciated by the family.

The Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.

The family wishes to express their gratitude and thanks to the staff of the Cedar Lake Health Care Center for their kindness and caring support during Dale's illness.

Clarence R. Kurtz
Clarence R. Kurtz, 91, of Jackson, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.

He was born April 17, 1909, in the town of Saukville, to the late Charles and Ella (nee Opitz) Kurtz, and married Marvel Elisabeth Fischer on May 25, 1935, at St. Peter's Evangelical Church, Saukville.

She passed away on March 27, 2000.

Following their marriage they lived in Saukville until moving to Jackson in 1939.

He worked at Leisner and Rheingans Hardware for many years.

Clarence was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Jackson, since 1939, and served on the Church Council, sang in the choir and was a member of the Brotherhood.

He was a member of the Jackson Area Business Association, and was a former member of the Cedarburg Firemen's Band while also playing drums in a dance band.

Survivors include two brothers, Earl of West Bend and Irwin (Gloria) of Pierce, Neb.; a sister, Elda Miller of Grafton; a sister-in-law, Edna Seyfert of North Carolina; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Jackson.

Rev. William Gruenstern will officiate, and burial will follow in Christ Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation at the church only will be Saturday from 10 a.m until 12:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Washington County Fair Park or the charity of the donor's choice.

The Schmidt Funeral Home, Jackson, is serving the family.

Doris Mae Kant
Doris Mae Kant, nee Bammel, 73, of West Bend, died late Tuesday evening, Jan. 9, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.

She was born Sept. 20, 1927, in West Bend, to the late Frederick and Olga (nee Capelle) Bammel, and graduated from West Bend High School and Sheboygan Business College.

She worked at Klitzner's Dress Shop in West Bend.

On June 19, 1951, she married Elmer Carl Kant at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend.

After her mother's death, Doris cared for her father for many years.

Doris was a life-long member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend where she belonged to the Senior Choir, Ladies Guild and was an AAL member.

She was a life member and past president of the Fred A. Schaefer VFW Post 1393 Auxiliary and a member of the Lt. Ray Dickop American Legion Post 36 Auxiliary.

Doris was also a member of the West Bend Women's Club, West Bend Historical Society, West Bend Senior Center Band and Chorus and also volunteered for service organizations.

She loved to travel, read, play cards and socialize with her many friends and acquaintances.

Doris enjoyed eating out at various local restaurants, attending movies and cultural events and going for car rides.

She loved her church, her family, her friends and her numerous social activities.

Survivors include her only daughter, Nancy Lynn Whitehead of West Bend; cousins; other relatives and many friends.

Preceding her in death was her former husband, Elmer Carl Kant.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 1 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend.

Rev. Daniel Kelm will officiate and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Monday, Jan. 22 from 4 to 8 p.m., and at the church on Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 11 a.m. until the time of services.

Memorials to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church or the VFW Auxiliary are appreciated.

Peter Wiebe

Funeral services will be held today in the Chapel of the Flowers of Wisconsin Memorial Park for Peter Wiebe, formerly of Thiensville, who died Jan. 11, 2001, at the age of 79.
Mr. Wiebe was born Jan. 29, 1921 in Mordan, Manitoba, Canada. A longtime Thiensville resident, he moved to St. Cloud, Minn. to be with his daughter.

Kent Stroessner
Funeral services were held on Friday at the Eernise Funeral Home in Port Washington for Kent Stroessner, 37, of the Town of Saukville, who died on Jan. 8, 2001. Burial was held on Saturday in Waubeka Union Cemetery. Rev. Randy Raasch, pastor of First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg officiated at the ceremony.

He was born April 21,1963 in Port Washington, son of Gordon and Patricia (nee Gilson) Stroessner. He married Lori Schlessinger in March, 1992 in Arizona. He was employed at Kapco Inc. in Grafton as a tool-and-die maker.

Survivors include: daughter Michelle; parents Gordon and Patricia Stroessner of Grafton; sisters Kim Wilde of Saukville and Valerie (Timothy) Fullington of Grafton.

Memorials to a charity of the donor’s choice appreciated.

Lori Stroessner

Funeral services were held on Friday at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington for Lori Stroessner, 34, of the Town of Saukville who died on Jan. 8, 2001. Burial was in Waubeka Union Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 16,1966 in Milwaukee, daughter of Charles and Carol (nee Kelm) Schlessinger. She married Kent Stroessner in March, 1992 in Arizona.

Survivors include: parents Charles and Carol Schlessinger of Jackson; stepdaughter Michelle Stroessner; brothers Charles J. (Tracy) Schlessinger Jr. of Random Lake and Todd (Mindy) Schlessinger of Port Washington; great-grandmother Mathilda Binder of West Bend; and grandparents Charles F. and Lorraine Schlessinger of Jackson; an uncle, nieces and nephews.

Kendall May Juranitch

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Feb. 1, 2001 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 7845 N. River Rd., for infant Kendall May Juranitch, who died Jan. 1, 2001 at the age of 11 days.
She was the daughter of Robert and Patricia (nee Wernecke) Juranitch, and the sister of Jackson and Laura.

Survivors also include her grandparents, Rosalie Bleecker and William and Sue Wernecke, other extended family, kind neighbors and friends.

Memorials to St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church or the Neo-natal ICU of Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
