Kristina M. Schmechel

Funeral services were held on Jan. 11 at the Schramka Densow Funeral Home for Kristina M. Schmechel, 29, who died on Jan. 7, 2001. Burial was held at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery.
Survivors include: daughter Melissa Ann; parents Maxine (Don) Jahn of Mesa, Ariz. and John Schmechel of Milwaukee; grandparents Arnold and Gertrude Lorenz and Ruth Schmechel; brother James Schmechel of Mequon; uncle Jerry (Mary) Lorenz of Las Vegas; aunts Sue Lorenz of Mequon, Rosanne (Don) Korinek of Grafton and Joy Lorenz of Sheboygan.

Further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and dog Casey "Hounder."

She was preceded in death by her grandfather John A. Schmechel and uncle Arnie Schmechel.

James C. McGaver

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday at Divine Word Catholic Church in Cedarburg for James C. McGaver of Grafton, 76, who died Jan. 20, 2001. Fr. Geroge Gajdos officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Poole Funeral Home, Port Washington. Entombment was at Resurrection Cemetery in Mequon.
Mr. McGaver was born June 17, 1924 in Fairchild, son of Conrad and Amelia (nee Dalkie) McGaver. He married Bernadine A. Janusz on June 10, 1950 in Milwaukee. He served in the U.S. Army as a private first class-MP from May 1, 1945 to Oct. 25, 1946, during WW II. Mr. McGaver was a carpenter for Selzer-Ornst in Wauwatosa for 25 years. He was also a member of the Grafton Lions Club.

Survivors include: wife Bernadine "Dolly" McGaver of Grafton; son Mark (Deb) McGaver of Town of Cedarburg; daughter Patricia Daly of Princeton, Ill.; five grandsons; brother Edward (Gladys) McGaver of Fairchild; sister Bernadine Maeder of Milwaukee; Lynda (Don) Wagner of Grafton.

Further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ralph and sister Cecelia.

Memorials to Divine Word Catholic Church are appreciated.

Ruth Malone Jungers

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grafton for Ruth Malone Jungers, 95, who died on Jan. 20, 2001. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Jungers was born March 28, 1905 in the town of Cedarburg, the daughter of Thomas and Nellie (Sweeney) Malone. She married Sylvester Jungers on November 11, 1940 in Cedarburg. She taught school for many years, pausing to raise her children. She retired from St. Joseph’s School.

She was active in both the Cedarburg & Grafton Woman’s Club and the St. Joseph’s Christian Mothers, holding offices in the organizations. She belonged to a number of different bridge groups and was always willing to sub. She stopped playing bridge just two years ago.

Survivors include: children Ann (Douglas) Bailey of Madison and John Jungers of Grafton; grandchildren Scott (Bridgit) Johnston, John (Julie) Bailey and Lynn Bailey; great-grandchildren Connor, Travis and Zachary Johnston, Anthony and John Bailey, all of Madison; brother William (Anita) Malone of Cedarburg; and sister-in-law Betty Malone of Mequon

Further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Sylvester (Zip) Jungers; her parents; brothers Ray (Pearl), Jack (Catherine) and Jerry Malone; sister Eleanor (Richard) Langley; in-laws John and Catherine Jungers; brothers-in-law Nicholas (Margaret) and HW (Edna) Jungers; and sister-in-law Caroline (Frank) Pauline.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Wally Ernissee and Lorraine Malone for their special kindness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Joseph’s School or donor’s choice appreciated.

Alma W. Jaeck
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Advent Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, for Alma W. Jaeck, 90, of Jackson, who died Jan. 21, 2001.

Entombment is at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield. Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, assisted the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Jaeck was born Jan. 12, 1911 in Cedarburg, the daughter of the late Henry and Anna (nee Buth) Wendtlandt.

She married Alex Jaeck on Sept. 6, 1930 at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg.

Mrs. Jaeck is survived by her husband Alex Jaeck of Jackson, daughter Annette (Ken) Quevy of Cedarburg, son Ken (Sherry) Jaeck of Jackson, grandchildren Laura (Ed) Toebes, David (Debbie) Quevy, Matt, Jon and Katy Jaeck, great-grandchildren Stephanie, Grace, Alyssa and Alex. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by six sisters and a brother.

Mr. Jaeck was a member of Advent Lutheran Church, and memorials to the church would be appreciated.

Olga Hazlett
Mass of Christian Burial will be held tonight at 7 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grafton for Olga Hazlett (nee Giovannini) of Cedarburg, 72, who died Jan. 21, 2001. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Racine. Visitation will be at the church from 5 p.m. until time of mass. Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Hazlett was born in Racine, on Oct. 29, 1928 to the late August and Julia (nee Cecarre) Giovannini.

She was a waitress for over 40 years most recently at Rich’s Resturant in Cedarburg and for most of her career she was in Racine at The Hub Resturant and The Chart Room.

Survivors include: son Gerald (Judy) Hazlett of Grafton; granddaughters Megan and Loran of Grafton; sister Ada (Victor) Lipke of Romeoville, Ill.

She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society appreciated.

Bruce C. Harris

Funeral services will be held Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Grafton for Bruce C. Harris, 63, of Grafton, who died Jan. 23, 2001.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 p.m., with the service to start at 7 p.m. Burial will be Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton, is assisting the family.

Mr. Harris was born April 7, 1937 in Milwaukee, son of the late Gordon H. and Marian (nee Borgwardt) Harris, the eldest of five children. He married Janice Sigmund on Feb. 21, 1959 in Milwaukee.

Those who knew him said his relationships with his family, friends and church were an important part of his life.

In 1972, Mr. Harris was part of a group that started HVC Inc., a manufacturer of high-voltage capacitors. He became manager and the company moved to Cedarburg.

Survivors include: his wife Janice of Grafton; children Mark Harris of Milwaukee, Lorna (David) Disrud of Darien, Ill. and Linda (Doug) Clintsman of Elkhorn; brothers Jerry (Susan) Harris of Green Bay and John (Jeanne) Harris of Sturgeon Bay; sisters Bonnie (Larry) Domer of Aurora, Colo. and Marilyn Hearden of Madison. He is further survived by five grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Memorials to Grace Lutheran Church of a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.

Dorothy May Brannstrom

A funeral service was held Wednesday at Christ Church in Mequon for Dorothy May Brannstrom, 79, who died on Jan. 20, 2001. Burial was held at the Southeast Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. Schramka-Densow Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Mrs. Brannstrom was born May 13, 1921 in Ensign, Mich., the daughter of Edward and Millie Rudenberg. She attended Michigan State University majoring in home economics. She married Arnold J. Brannstrom on June 14, 1946.

She was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church in Mequon where she sang and participated in the handbell choir. She belonged to the Milwaukee Barb Wire Chapter of the American Ex-Prisoners of War.

Survivors include: son Arlin (Judy) Brannstrom of Madison; daughter Linda (the late Daniel) Weyker of Random Lake; five grandchildren.

Further survived by other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Christ Church in Mequon and designated to the handbell fund.

Oliver J. "Ollie" Kuntz
Oliver J. "Ollie" Kuntz, 71, of Jackson, formerly of Wauwatosa, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.

He was born Sept. 20, 1929, in Milwaukee, to the late Fred and Vesta (Key) Kuntz, and married Jeanette M. Scharrer in Milwaukee.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Ollie was employed as a supervisor for Falk Corp. of Milwaukee for over 43 years, retiring Dec. 31, 1991.

Survivors include three children, Michael Kuntz of Palmyra, Richard Kuntz of Campbellsport and Karrie (Scott) Gerritson of West Bend; six grandchildren, Jaclyn, Becky, Jeffrey, Kimberly and Kayla and Kyle; a brother, George (Patricia) Kuntz of Kenosha; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were a sister, Ruby, and two brothers, Elsworth and Junior.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 29, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend.

Fr. Jeffrey Haines will officiate, and cremation will take place at Parkview Crematory, Fond du Lac.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m.

George H. Galbraith
George H. Galbraith, 72, of West Bend, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001.

He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (nee Rysz); dear father of Tom, Dawn (Roger) Kenneavy and Mary Anne (Ken) Urlakis; beloved grandpa of Ryan, Erin and Dan Kenneavy, and Kenny, Grace Marie and Eve Anna Urlakis. He is also survived by many loving friends and relatives.

George served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 27, at 9 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, W204 N11940 Goldendale Road, Germantown, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Richfield.

Prayers and Mass memorials are appreciated.

Church and Chapel Funeral Service is assisting the family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Doctors Richard Lewis, Jeffrey Young, Bruce Massaro, the caring staff at Cedar Campuses and the compassionate staff of the Cancer Care Center at Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls.

The family thanks God for the many years they were blessed with this rare, gentle and loving man.
