Everett J. Miller
Everett J. Miller, 76, of 235 Spring St., Campbellsport, passed away Feb. 15, 2001, at Manor Care in Fond du Lac where he had resided since Jan. 19, 2001.

He was born June 28, 1924, to Henry and Norma (Schleif) Miller in Menomonee Falls. He attended Barton Grade School and graduated from West Bend High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy from April 1943 to April 1946 as a hospital apprentice. Upon leaving the Navy he proposed to Evelynne Gosewehr on Valentine’s Day, 1947. He married Evelynne on Sept. 18, 1948, at St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Waubeka. Everett was employed at the West Bend Company, then began his employment at Brittingham and Hixon Lumber at West Bend as a bookkeeper and then as assistant manager. He moved to Campbellsport in 1957 to become manager of Brittingham and Hixon in Campbellsport. He retired in 1987 after 40 years with the lumber company.

He is survived by his wife Evelynne, four sons, Brian (Wendy) of Campbellsport, Jay (Phyllis) of Eden, Joel (Danielle) of Aurora, Ill., and Bruce (Paula) of Fond du Lac; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Thomas, Christopher, Michael, Jennifer, Daniel, David and Katie; two sisters, Marilyn (Leo) Doyle of Houston, and Nadine ("Amos") Kendall of Newman, Ga.; two brothers, Lee (Darlene) of Milwaukee and William (Paula) of Houston; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Everett was a member of the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department for 44 years and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member and secretary of the Campbellsport Lions Club for many years and also served on the Campbellsport Village Board. He was instrumental in starting the SHARE Program and coordinated it for 10 years.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Campbellsport United Christian Church, Forest St. Rev. Steven Hilyard will officiate and burial will be Monday in Union Cemetery, Campbellsport. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-6:30 p.m. at the Twohig funeral Home, Campbellsport. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Campbellsport Fire Department Thermal Imaging Fund.

Dorothy Wolter
Funeral services were held on Feb. 4 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedarburg for Dorothy Wolter (nee Huebner), 85, of Cedarburg, who died Jan. 31, 2001. Interment was at Immanuel Cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg assisted the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Wolter was born May 13, 1915 in Reedsburg, to the late Frank and Ernestine (nee Michel) Huebner, and married the late Jess Wolter on June 25, 1937.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedarburg and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Peter Wollner Post in Cedarburg.

Survivors include: children Frank (Gerri) of Jackson, Alec (Claudia) of Cedarburg, Sharon (Roy) Oberheu of West Bend, Jerome "Tuffy" (Sharon) of Saudi Arabia; brother-in-law Verne (Helen) Wolter of Boynton Beach, Fla.; sister-in-law Mildred Huebner of Reedsburg; grandchildren; Mike Oberheu, Steven Wolter, Rodney Wolter, Anne Tuggle, Steve Latsch, Donna Parshall; great-grandchildren John Wolter, Matt Wolter, Nick Parshall, Alexander Parshall, Jacob Parshall. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials of your choice would be appreciated.

Nick J. Fuchs

Nick J. Fuchs, 42, of West Bend, went home to Jesus on Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at his residence after a courageous struggle with leukemia.
He was born Nov. 14, 1958, in Milwaukee, to Neil and Janice (Doornek) Fuchs, and was raised in Barton.

He served in the U.S. Army after the Vietnam era.

Nick was the owner and operator of Men at Work Painting of West Bend for over 27 years.

Survivors include his beloved fiancee, Corrine S. Boudry-Tamez and her son, Chad (Marcia) Tamez of West Bend; his loving mother, Janice Ramel of West Bend; his father, Neil (Joanne) Fuchs of Rosewll, N.M.; paternal grandmothers, Eleanor Schultz of Milwaukee and Teresa Ramel of Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters, Jennifer (Michael) Kramer of West Bend and Jean Marie (Ray) Hiracheta of West Allis; seven brothers, Michael Ramel and Tim Ramel, both of West Bend, Matthew (Irma) Ramel of Princeton, Vince Fuchs of Waukesha, Sam Fuchs of Beaver Dam, Billy (Jenelle) Fuchs and Damien Fuchs, both of Rosewll; his faithful companion, Capone; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was his dad, Jerry Ramel.

Nick was a member of Community Church of West Bend.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. at Community Church of West Bend.

Pastor Dennis R. Olla will officiate, and cremation will take place at Parkview Crematory in Fond du Lac.

Visitation at the church will be Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m.

Memorials are appreciated.

Linda M. Dehring

Linda M. Dehring, nee Rubner, 52, of Slinger, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at St. Luke's Medical Center of Milwaukee.
She was born Sept. 2, 1948, in Milwaukee, to Daniel and Ruth (Kovalaske) Rubner, was raised in Brookfield and graduated from Brookfield Central High School in 1966.

Following her marriage to Gregory A. Dehring on Jan. 20, 1979, in Wauwatosa, the couple lived in Slinger.

Linda was a secretary for United Transportation Union of Milwaukee for over five years.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Matthew and Joe Dehring of Slinger; her father, Daniel Rubner of Brookfield; two brothers, Daniel and Richard Rubner, both of Cable; a special friend, Carol Unteite of Milwaukee; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Ruth; a brother, Ronald; and a sister, Maureen.

She was a past member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Richfield.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend.

Fr. Michael J. Petri will officiate, and cremation will take place at Parkview Crematory of Fond du Lac.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

James E. Schwartzburg
James E. Schwartzburg, 48, of Slinger, was born to eternal life on Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee.

He was born May 18, 1952, in Milwaukee, to William and Joyce (Fitz) Schwartzburg, and married Susan Herde Dec. 23, 1972, at Pilgrim Congregational Church, Milwaukee.

He was a long-time faithful employee of Milwaukee Electric Tool.

He was the loving father of Jennifer (Dion) Meux and Laura Schwartzburg; dear grandpa of Aleesha, Austin, Colleon and Seven; once beloved husband of Susan Herde; dear brother-in-law of Carol, and uncle of David and Lauren Schwartzburg. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, William Schwartzburg and Joyce Drudik; his stepfather, Otto Drudik; and a brother, John.

Visitation at the Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, 10121 W. North Ave., Wautawtosa, will be Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 4 p.m. until the time of services at 6 p.m.

Memorials to the American Heart Association are appreciated.

Beloved dad, we will miss so, and grandpa we love you.

John F. "Jack" McCabe
John F. "Jack" McCabe, 75, of Kewaskum, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.

He was born June 19, 1925, in Milwaukee, to the late Frank and Alice (Bogue) McCabe, and on June 25, 1949, married Patricia Mueller at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Milwaukee.

Mr. McCabe served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a decorated veteran receiving the Purple Heart.

He was a member of the American Legion Lt. Ray Dickop Post 36 in West Bend, the Disabled American Veterans and Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum.

He was employed by Nordburg corporation in Milwaukee for many years.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Jack (Mary) of Loveland,, Colo., Jim (Jody) of Milwaukee, Patrick of West Bend and Scott (Lisa) of Sapulpa, Okla.; two daughters, Jayne (Ron) Zeiler of Palm harbor, Fla. and Alison McCabe of Kewaskum; a sister, Alice (R.B.) Tucker of West Bend; 13 grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services with military rites will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, in the Family Center at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.

Father Mark Jones will be the presider, and burial in the park will follow.

The family will receive visitors from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services.

The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is serving the family.

Donald J. Collins
Donald J. Collins, 88, of West Bend, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at the Samaritan Health Center.

He was born Dec. 17, 1912, in Milwaukee, to the late John an Meta (nee Rau) Collins, and married Eunice Hage on July 3, 1937, in Milwaukee.

To help at home, Don left school and started working as an errand boy at the Phoenix Hosiery Co. He served his apprenticeship and became a journeyman full fashioned knitter of men's hosiery at Phoenix. While working there, his interest turned to the IBM and he learned a new skill.

During World War II, he was drafted to work his craft at the war plant at A.O. Smith Co. in Milwaukee.

After the war, he became a data processing manager.

In 1951 the family came to West Bend where Don was the data processing manager at The West Bend Co.

After his retirement, Don served as a volunteer driver of the "Red Bus" and also for the American Red Cross.

Survivors include his wife; six children, Gary (Mary) of Naples, Fla., Leigh (Barbara) of Menomonee Falls, Kathleen (Kim) Bockhop of Cottage Grove, Christine (James) Tighe of Madison, Patricia (Gordon) Tonn and Margaret (Craig) Sedgwick, both of Kewaskum; 14 grandchildren, Anne and James (Amy) Collins, Jennifer (Matt) Zoll, Dr. Suzanne (Dr. Paul) Vu, Michael Collins, John, Sheri and Kenneth (Cindy) Bockhop, Margo and Jenna Tighe, Matthew and Nicholas Tonn and Emily and Nathan Sedgwick; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were two sisters, Viola and Evelyn Collins and a brother, Harold.

Don was a founding member, charter member and past president of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, and a member and past president of the Milwaukee Chapter of the Data Manager's Association, now called the Association of Information Technology Professionals.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at noon at Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

Pastor Oscar Kraft will officiate, and inurnment will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the church only will be on Wednesday from 10 to 11:45 a.m.

Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association for stroke research.

The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.
