Marie C. Volm
Marie C. Volm, nee Kahut, 74, of Kewaskum, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at her son's residence in the town of Kewaskum.
She was born March 22, 1926, in Ashford, to the late Peter and Gertrude (nee Dieringer) Kahut, and married Carl M. Volm on Feb. 27, 1946, at St. Martin's Church in Ashford.
She was employed at Amity Leather Products in West Bend for many years, retiring on March 22, 1988, and was a member of the Amity 25-Year Club.
Marie enjoyed gardening, crocheting, woodworking, crafting and spending time with her family.
Her husband passed away on Dec. 8, 1988.
Survivors include four children, Sharon (Ray) Beal, Donna (Tom) Weiss, Steven (Susan) Volm, and Dawn (Robert) Bastian, all of Kewaskum; seven grandchildren, Lori (Mike) Wenzel, Lisa (Dan) Stollenwerk, Heather (fiance Andrew Peters) Weiss, Jerod Weiss, Brianna Bastian, Kayla Bastian and Steven Volm Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Leiken Stollenwerk and Dylan Stollenwerk; three sisters, Rosie (Eli) Riemert of South Carolina, Agnes (Butch) Riemert of Port Washington and Virginia (Dee) Goltry of West Bend; a daughter-in-law, Debbie (Ken) Grub of Pennsylvania; three sisters-in-law, Delores Kahut of Campbellsport, Marie Langenecker of Allenton and Anna Ullrich of Fond du Lac; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a son, Gary; a granddaughter, Michelle Volm; and four brothers, Paul, Leo, Art and Adam.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, town of Kewaskum.
Rev. Mark Jones will officiate, and burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, town of Kewaskum.
Visitation at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Tuesday after 4 p.m., with a prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m., and on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Robert W. Schoenke
Robert W. Schoenke, Sr., 84, of Dousman, formerly of West Bend, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 10, 1916, in Milwaukee, to the late William and Helen (Schmidt) Schoenke, and married Bernice A. Heiser on June 22, 1938, in Milwaukee.
She passed away on July 19, 1999.
He was the owner and operator of William Schoenke Painting of Milwaukee for over 50 years.
Survivors include three children, Nancy Hartman of Oconomowoc, Robert (Ann) Schoenke Jr. of Germantown and Richard (Sandy) Schoenke of Sarasota, Fla.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Schoenke and Audrey Westphal of Woodruff; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church of Slinger and the West Bend Masonic Lodge #138 F&AM.
Private graveside services will be held Friday, March 2, at 1 p.m. at Pinelawn Cemetery, Milwaukee.
Pastor Alan R. Lindberg will officiate and interment will take place in Pinelawn Cemetery.
The Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, is assisting the family.
Julia C. Kirmse
Julia C. Kirmse, 98, nee Ternes, of West Bend, formerly of Newburg, was taken to eternal life on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.
She was born March 30, 1902, in Decada, to the late John and Catherine (nee Schmidt) Ternes, and married Elmer F. Kirmse, on Jan. 4, 1920, in Fillmore.
He passed away on March 13, 1981.
Julia was employed at the Samaritan Health Center as a nurse's aide for about 20 years, retiring in 1967.
She enjoyed many different hobbies and pastimes, including flower gardening and all kinds of crafts, as long as they helped her to keep her hands busy.
Survivors include nine children, Ethel (Joe) Herriges of Newburg, Blanch Batterman of Milwaukee, Jenny (Clarence) Kurtz of West Bend, Myrtle (Merlin) Wilkens of West Bend, Eugene (Marilyn) of Saukville, Robert (Loretta) of West Bend, Raymond (Sally) of Newburg, Jack (Carol) of West Bend and Mary Lou (Clyde) Gerner of West Bend; 36 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Susie Kirmse of Newburg; a son-in-law, Donald Race Sr. of Saukville; two sisters, Veronica Weinreich of Fillmore and Elenore Hecker of Little Kohler; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were two children, Orville and Winnebelle Race; a granddaughter, Lois Kirmse; and a brother, Arthur Ternes.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 6:50 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Newburg.
Burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Union Cemetery, Newburg.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
Mildred R. Hendricks
Mildred R. Hendricks, 85, formerly of Campbellsport, a resident of the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at the Samaritan.
She was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Fond du Lac, to the late Henry and Olga (Boethke) Johnson, and married Lewis W. "Jim" Hendricks on Oct. 8, 1938, at the First Baptist Church, Campbellsport, where she was a member all her life.
Together they farmed in the town of Ashford.
Her husband passed away on Feb. 14, 1977.
Mildred also taught Sunday School at her church for many years and served as a deaconess.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol M. (Gerald) Strupp of West Bend; six grandchildren, James Schwichtenberg of Hartford, Jenny Strupp of West Bend, Joseph (Tracy) Strupp of Campbellsport, Lisa Strupp of West Bend, Linda (Marcus) Oksa of Campbellsport and Lewis W. Strupp of Milwaukee; four great-grandchildren, Ariana, Maxwell, Brooke and Marlena; a sister, Lucille Suckow of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Janet Quick of Las Cruces, N.M.; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Vera.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, at 11 a.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport.
Rev. James Strupp will officiate, and burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Campbellsport.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Gary G. Gorecki
Gary G. Gorecki, 56, of Menomonee Falls, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001.
He was the beloved brother of Ervin, Gordon (Rosalie), Patricia Gorecki and Sandra (Tom) Holeman, and loving fiance of Nellie Werchowski. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 27, after 5 p.m. at Wisconsin Memorial Park Chapel of the Flowers, 132nd and Capitol Drive, Brookfield, followed by a service at 7 p.m.
Interment will be private.
The Church and Chapel Funeral Service is serving the family.
Earl Allen "Buzz" Buswell
Earl Allen "Buzz" Buswell, 77, of West Bend, was born to eternal life on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
He was born April 13, 1923, in Kiel, to the late Walter and Thekla (Mueller) Buswell, and graduated from Kiel High School in 1941.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1943-'46 during World War II, in both the European and Japan Theatres.
On Aug. 31, 1946, he married Elaine D. Thielke at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Louis Corners Wis.
Buzz graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1951, and taught school in Mellen for two years and later at Kewaskum High School for over 32 years, retiring in 1985.
Survivors include his loving wife Elaine of 54 years; he was the beloved father of Peggy (John) Lettow of Kewaskum, Beth (Earl) Smith and Terry (Donna) Buswell, both of West Bend; dear grandfather of Brian, Eric and Kevin Lettow, Jeremy (Carly) Kidd, Stephanie (Kirk) Spenser and Sean Buswell; three step-grandchildren, Russell, Christine and Erik Smith; a great-granddaughter, Alexis Kammers; dear brother of Donald (Donna) Buswell of Flint, Mich. and Betty Mathie of York, Pa. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was a member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church of Kewaskum, was past commander of the Kewaskum American Legion and a charter member and secretary for over 10 years of the Kewaskum Lions Club.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 7:30 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend.
Pastor Timothy A. Henning will officiate, and interment will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 3 to 7:30 p.m.
