Rudy O. Hilkert
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. tonight at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Grafton for Rudy O. Hilkert of Cedarburg, who died on Feb. 25 at the age of 69. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. at the church. Rev. Franz Rigert will officiate at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg.
Mr. Hilkert was born Nov. 25, 1931 in Stuttgart, Germany, son of Otto and Paula (nee Dalaker) Hilkert. He married Elaine Hoefert on Jan. 24, 1975 in Kohlsville. He was the owner of AOK Vac shop that served the Cedarburg and Grafton area. He was active at Pilgrim United Church of Christ. From July 13, 1957 to May 23, 1963 he served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include: wife Elaine Hilkert of Cedarburg; daughter Michelle (fiance Jeff Thompson) Farmington Hills, Mich.; sons Paul Hilkert of Cedarburg, Eric (Tia) Hilkert of Menomonee Falls, Scott (Adele) Hilkert of Brookfield; sister Liesel Schneider of Völkingen, Germany; grandchildren Eric J. and Calman Hilkert.
Further survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

James M. Shafer
James M. Shafer, Sr., 87, of Waukesha, was born to eternal life on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001.
He was the loving husband of the late Helen (nee Effertz); father of Jane H. Gardner, James (Nancy) Shafer Jr., Matt (Sandra) Shafer; grandfather of Elizabeth (Jon) Kocik, Benjamin J. (Shelly) Shafer, Sarah J. Shafer, Natalie R. (Jason) Laufenberg, James Shafer III and Daniel J. Shafer; great-grandfather of Kaylin E. Shafer, Ariana Kocik, Jude J. Laufenberg, Nicholas Kocik, Makenna Shafer; and dear friend of Jane Will.
He is also survived by cousins and many good friends.
After being in vaudeville in his 20s, he later had a career as a manufacturer's representative for various companies, had considerable success as a real estate developer and only recently retired.
Jim was a member of the Tripoli Shrine, Fox Point Lutheran Church, the Wisconsin Club and the Friday Noon Forecasters Club.
A memorial service will be held at Fox Point Lutheran Church, corner of Calumet and Santa Monica, at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 5.
The Schramka Herrick Funeral Home, Menomonee Falls, is serving the family.
Margaret M. Jones
Margaret M. Jones, nee Dibble, of West Bend, formerly of Milwaukee, died Thursday, March 1 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, at the age of 92.
She was born Dec. 10, 1908, in Fort Atkinson, to the late Ernest and Mary (nee Morell) Dibble, and married Chester Lee Jones on Aug. 14, 1938, in Milwaukee.
Chester passed away on Dec. 1, 1968.
At an early age her family to Milwaukee. After graduating from West Division High School in 1926, Margaret attended Layton School of Art, graduating in 1932.
She worked at the Wisconsin Telephone Co. for several years.
Margaret enjoyed painting, making things for herself and for relatives and friends.
She and Chester also loved to travel in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Margaret excelled at cooking and the couple entertained often at their house.
Survivors include relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 4, at 4 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend.
Fr. Gerald Brittain will officiate, and burial will be Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Fort Atkinson.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of services.
Debrah S. "Debbie" Krick
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. tonight at Alliance Bible Church for Debrah S. "Debbie" Krick, who died on Feb. 27, 2001 at the age of 50. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. at the church. Rev. William Ronzheimer will officiate at the ceremony. Inurnment will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
Ms. Krick was born Feb. 9, 1951 in Bridgeport, Conn., daughter of Frank and Marion (nee Berger) Klein.
Survivors include: son Joshua Krick of Cedarburg; daughter Alison Krick of Cedarburg; brothers Steven (Sheila) Klein of Fairfax, Va., Robert (Jill) Klein of Deerfield, Ill.
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Geraldine M. "Geri" Cooley
A memorial service was held on March 3 at St. Boniface Episcopal Church in Mequon for Geraldine M. "Geri" Cooley of Cedarburg, who died on Feb. 28, 2001 at the age of 70. Fr. W. Jay Lambert officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg.
Mrs. Cooley was born Feb. 16, 1931 in Milwaukee, daughter of Frank and Mary (nee Heron) Scharmach. She married Roger Cooley on Sept. 20, 1958 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Wauwatosa.
She was a member of the Cedarburg Woman’s Club, Peter Wollner American Legion Post #288 Auxiliary and Telephone Company Pioneers. She was retired from Wisconsin Bell.
Survivors include: husband Roger Cooley of Cedarburg; brothers-in-law John Kosmeder of Milwaukee, William (Pat) Cooley of Hartland; sister-in-law Carol Ann Cooley of Banning, Calif.
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Carl O. Kletzien
Funeral services were held on Saturday March 3 at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg for Carl O. Kletzien of Cedarburg, who died on Feb. 28, 2001, at the age of 64. Burial was at Immanuel Cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Kletzien was born June 8, 1936 the son of the late William and Emily (nee Kunstmann) Kletzien. On June 20, 1954 he married Carol Daliege in Port Washington. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg.
Survivors include: wife Carol of Cedarburg; children Steve (Amy) Kletzien of Grafton, Sue Baas of Grafton, Sherri (Thomas) Hartwig of Cedarburg, Scott (Pam) Kletzien of Waldo, Spencer Kletzien of Cedarburg and Shane (Nancy) Kletzien of Port Washington; grandchildren Jaymie (Scott), Lisa, Cara, Nick, Craig, Nate, Michael, Michelle, Cassandra, Kevin and Christopher; sisters Delores (Leslie) Gannigan of Auberdale, Elaine Ogren of LaCrosse; brothers Kenneth (Judy) Kletzien of Lomira and Edward (Maryann) Kletzien of Waupaca.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
Betty V. Ziegert
Betty V. Ziegert, nee Wilcox, 79, of Kewaskum, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 15, 1921, in West Bend, to the late Herbert and Hortence (nee Hetzel) Wilcox, and married James W. Ziegert on Dec. 31, 1942, in Williamsburg, Va.
Betty volunteered in the office at St. Frances Cabrini Church and at the Threshold for several years.
Survivors include her husband; four children, Jim (Nancy) of Broken Arrow, Okla., Mary (Daniel) Spaeth of Racine County, Rev. Ann Ziegert of Rockwell City, Iowa and Ellen Ziegert of Chicago; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marion (Bill) Kerlinski of Hartford and JoAnn Hall of Melbourne, Fla.; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a granddaughter, Janel Margaret Spaeth; her mother-in-law, Helen Mueller; a brother-in-law, Harold Hall; and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Cierzen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 6, at 7 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, West Bend, with Fr. Jeffrey Haines presiding.
Visitation at the church only will be Tuesday from 5 to 6:45 p.m.
The Schmidt Funeral home, West Bend, is serving the family.
Mayme C. Van Scoter
Mayme C. Van Scoter, nee Lupo, 84, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, March 2, 2001.
She was the loving wife of the late Kenneth; loving mother of Douglas (Sandy) Van Scoter; precious grandmother of Gina (Mike) Burns, Roberta (Jeremy) Kuske and Brian Van Scoter; cherished great-grandma of Robert and Ivy Kuske and Kayla Burns; special love and companion of Albert McCambridge; dear sister of Joseph (Vivian) Lupo, the late Frank, the late John and the George Lupo.
She is further survived by nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.
Mayme was a member of the Solomon Juneau Club, the Italian Community Center and the Women's Auxiliary of VFW, Whitelake.
Visitation at the Schmidt and Bartelt Guardalabene and Amato Funeral and Cremation Services, Wauwatosa, will be Monday, March 5 from 9 a.m. until the time of services at noon.
Private interment will be in Arlington Park Cemetery, Milwaukee.
