Alice L. Mey
Alice L. Mey, nee Gerlach, 91, of West Bend, died Monday, March 19, 2001, at the Samaritan Health Center.

She was born June 26, 1909, in Newburg, to the late Oscar and Ella (nee Schulze) Gerlach, and married Alfred Mey on Oct. 10, 1931, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Newburg.

He passed away on June 30, 1996.

Alice worked as a telephone operator in Newburg for a number of years.

She was a life-long member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Newburg, and in her younger years, was an active member of the St. John's Ladies Aid and the Newburg Homemaker's Group.

Survivors include two children, Mark (LaVonne) Mey of West Bend and Mary (Rev. Thomas) Zarling of Sterling, a.; four grandchildren, Elisabeth (Rev. Erich) Schaser, Paul (Jessica) Zarling, David (fiancee Emily) Zarling and Jonathan Zarling; four great-grandchildren, Zachary Schaser, Noah Schaser, Samuel Zarling and Solomon Zarling; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were three sisters, Florence Tieglman, Leoba Mechelke and Hilma Gerlach.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 23, at 4 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Newburg.

Rev. Jon Baumann will officiate, and burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.

Visitation at the church will be Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church Building Fund are appreciated.

The Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, is assisting the family.

Luella Zirtzlaff

A funeral service was held on Monday at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg for Luella Zirtzlaff (Traver) (nee Wieland) of Cedarburg, who died on March 16, 2001, at the age of 88 years. Interment was at Zur Ruhe Cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs Zirtzlaff was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She cared for people in their homes when they were ill.

Survivors include: children Calvin (Joan) Traver and Gary (Kathy) Zirtzlaff; grandchildren Scott (Madeleine Melois) Traver, Mark (Katherine) Traver, Lorrie (Barry) Mahr, Don (Claudette) Zirtzlaff, Andy (Christine) Zirtzlaff, John, James and Joseph (Kimberly) Mabbott and Turk (Lisa) Engle.

Further survived by 17 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Melvin F. Traver and Arthur J. Zirtzlaff, son John F. Zirtzlaff, great-granddaughter Ashleigh Melios Traver.

Carol L. Jensen

A funeral service was held at Grace Lutheran Church in Grafton for Carol L. Jensen (nee Dorrler) of Grafton, who died March 16, 2001, at the age of 73 years. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery Grafton. The Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Jensen was born in Milwaukee on Jan. 3, 1928 to the late Arthur and Margaret (nee Wegert) Dorrler. She married Robert Jensen on Sept. 11, 1948 in Hartland.

She was a homemaker and a very active member at Grace Lutheran Church in Grafton as a member of the choir and several ladies organization within the church.

Survivors include: husband Robert of Kewaskum, formerly of Grafton; children Tom (Karen) Jensen of Brookfield, Diane Jensen (Steve) of Madison, Dana (Robert) Switalski of Hubertus, Dawn Menomonee of New London, Laurie (Dan) Jones of Colorado; grandchildren Melanie (Steve) Evans of Waukesha, Brian Jensen of Brookfield, Jarek, Mara and Luke Switalski of Hubertus, Seth Menomonee of Madison, Andrew and Corinne Menomonee of New London and Jenessa and Amanda Schwenner of Colorado; great-grandchildren Alysia and Cameron Evans of Waukesha. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Memorials to Grace Lutheran Church or your choice appreciated.

Ella Lora Eggert

A funeral service was held on Tuesday at Falls Baptist Church in Menomonee Falls for Ella Lora Eggert of Cedarburg, who died on March 14, 2001, at the age of 83. Interment was at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg. Church and Chapel Funeral Service assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Eggert was born Jan. 12, 1918 in Henry, South Dakota to Rudolph and Anna Lenz. She married Armin Eggert on April 19, 1941. She worked for the News Graphic and Ford Motor Company.

Survivors include: children April Kunick of Cedarburg, Joan (Richard) Schultz of Cedarburg, Richard Eggert of Bay Minette, Ala., Rex Eggert of Grafton, Robert Eggert of Cedarburg, David Eggert of Cedarburg, Jill (Lawrence) Bertrand of Grafton; grandchildren Brian Kunick, Tim Kunick, Tom Schultz, Kristin Schultz, Katy Schmickle, Becky Thompson, Christy Eggert, Erik Bertrand, Brad Bertrand and Jacob Bertrand; brother John (Louise) Lenz of South Dakota; sister Ruth Becker of Almena.

Further survived by five great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Ermine A. Crass
Ermine A. Crass, nee Haendel, 85, of West Bend, entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, March 20, 2001.

She was born Oct. 16, 1913, in West Bend, to the late Oscar and Elsie (nee Bastain) and on Aug. 20, 1945, married James J. Crass in Milwaukee.

Ermine worked as a sales clerk until her retirement.

She was a member of the Women of the Moose, West Bend Chapter 1398.

She was the beloved mother of Beverly (Walter) Boerger of West Bend and George (Constance) Behling of Hancock; cherished grandmother of Ann (James) Swift of Milwaukee, Betty Jane (Keith) Kircher, and Mary (Brian) Abel, both of West Bend, and Amy (John) Fields of Laramie Wyo. loving great-grandmother of Timothy Kircher, Jeffrey and Peter Swift, Breenna, Cassie and Trevor Abel and Shelbey Fields; dear sister of Kathleen Yost of Milwaukee and William (Marie) Haendel of DeKalb, Ill.; dear sister-in-law of Violet Biertzer and Iver Crass, both of West Bend, and June (Werner) Rennicke of Mequon.

She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her loving husband, James; four brothers, Robert, Harry, Harold and Carl; a sister, June Runge; two sisters-in-law, Lorriane Haendel and Fern Kumrow; and two brothers-in-law, Donald Yost and Edward Runge.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 23, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend.

Rev. Victor Hackbarth will officiate, and cremation will take place at Parkview Cremations of Fond du Lac with interment of ashes in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials are appreciated to the charity of the donor's choice.

Lyle F. Milligan
Lyle F. Milligan, 91, of Kenosha, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Wauwatosa.

He was born June 26, 1909, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Fred and Jeanette "Netty" (Parker) Milligan, and came to Kenosha as a young child, attending Hannon Elementary School and McKinley Jr. High School.

In the 1930s he was in Troop E of the 105th Calvary, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II from Oct. 15, 1940 until Jan. 31, 1946.

After World War Ii, he served as commanding officer of the 126th Field Artillery of the Wisconsin National Guard, retiring as a Lt. Colonel with 41 years of service.

On Jan. 25, 1933 he married Hilda M. Barrows at the First United Methodist Church in Kenosha.

Lyle owned and operated his own trucking company during the 1930s.

He was appointed Kenosha County Sheriff in 1952, and in 1956 president Eisenhower appointed him U.S. Marshall for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

He was employed by American Motors Corporation until retiring in 1974.

Lyle was a member of the Order of the Purple heart of Wisconsin, a life member of VFW Junker Ball Post 1865, and the old timers from the 195th Calvary. He was awarded the Silver Star in the Philippines and the Purple Heart.

Lyle enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Gary (Jeanine) of West Bend, and Greg (Sandy), Scott (Delores) and Rory (Jennifer), all of Kenosha; two brothers, Hugh Milligan and Arleigh Christensen, both of Kenosha; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a sister, Annette Parsons and two brothers, Drew and Roger Christensen.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, at 10 a.m. at the Proko Funeral Home, Kenosha, followed by interment in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Kenneth Norman Rochwite
Kenneth Norman Rochwite, 75, of Wausaukee, went home on Wednesday, March 21, 2001.

He was born March 7, 1926, in Hartford, to the late Mollie and Stewart Rochwite Sr.

He married Bernice Barenz on June 10, 1944, in Rockford, Ill., and later married Mary Hartman Grotelueschen on Sept. 13, 1985, in West Bend.

Survivors include his dear wife, Mary Hartman Grotelueschen Rochwite of Wausaukee; beloved children, Dennis (Barbara) Rochwite and Judy Clark, both of West Bend; Kathy (Jerry) Intihar of Richfield, Minn., John (Diane) Rochwite of West Bend, Debbie Rochwite (Steve Lessard) of Milwaukee; Nancy (Mark) Wendt of West Allis, Janine Rochwite of Milwaukee and Laurie Rochwite of West Bend; and children, Donald Grotelueschen Jr. of West Bend, Keith (Roxanne) Grotelueschen and Brian (Debbie) Grotelueschen, both of Newburg and Patricia (Richard Ban) Grotelueschen of West Bend; 21 loving grandchildren; nine beautiful great-grandchildren; aunts, Ruth Steinke of Birnamwood and Dorothy Gosewehr of Madison; a sister-in-law, Darleen Rochwite of Campbellsport; his former, wife, Bernice; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was a brother, Stewart Jr.

Ken was a member of Local 139 Operating Engineers and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Crivitz and Crivitz Active Seniors.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Crivitz at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 23, with Rev. Mark Hannemann officiating.

Visitation at Grace Lutheran Church will be Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorial services will also be held Saturday, March 24, at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew Church, West Bend, with Rev. Bryan O'Connor officiating.

Visitation at the church will be Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Andrew Church, School Building Fund, West Bend, are appreciated.

The Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home Crivitiz, is assisting the family.
