Leo J. Ketter, 82
Leo J. Ketter, 82, of Campbellsport, died on Friday, March 23, 2001, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.

He was born Feb. 17, 1919, in Campbellsport, to the late Frank and Joanna (Campbell) Ketter, and married Gertrude A. Meyer on June 6, 1942, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Campbellsport.

They farmed in the town of Ashford and then he sold insurance for the Farm Bureau. He was also the owner-operator of the Standard Oil Co. in Campbellsport until retiring in 1980.

Leo was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, the Campbells-port Lion's Club and the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department, and was active with the Campbellsport Industrial Corporation.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel (Julie) of Campbellsport and Mark (Tani) of Adell; a daughter, Joanne (Dave) Block of Shakopee, Minn.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Meyer of Campbellsport; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his wife; a son, Phillip; and two brothers, James and Raymond.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Campbellsport, following a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport.

Rev. Francis Malloy will officiate, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Sunday from 3 to 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are appreciated to St. Agnes Hospice Hope or to the Campbellsport Fire Department Thermal Imaging Fund.

Laura I. Lemke
Funeral services were held Sunday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Freistadt for Laura I. Lemke (nee Volkmann), who died March 22, 2001 at Virginia Highlands in Germantown at the age of 91.

Interment is at the church cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, assisted the family.

Mrs. Lemke was born in Milwaukee on May 21, 1909 to the late John C. and Helen (nee Matter) Volkmann. She married Martin Lemke on July 6, 1929 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Freistadt.

Mrs. Lemke was a homemaker and a longtime active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid.

Survivors include husband Martin Lemke of Mequon; children Gerald J. (Rosella) Lemke of Milwaukee and Robert C. Lemke of Mequon; grandchildren Debra Moses of Cleveland, Ohio, Cheryl (Jack) Hoelz of Germantown and David C. Lemke of Virginia; great-grandchildren Jessica and Adam Moses of Cleveland, and Kaitlan and Sophie Hoelz of Germantown; brother Walter (Alice) Volkmann of Hartford; sisters Henrietta Mitchell and Lucille Wilk, both of Wauwatosa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church would be appreciated.

John C. Spykstra
John C. Spykstra, 55, of West Bend, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.

He was born Jan. 14, 1946, in Denver, Colo., to the late Cornelius and Gertrude (nee Nydam) Spykstra, and married Bonnie Engelhardt on Aug. 20, 1966.

She passed away in 1997.

John was employed at The West Bend Co. for 36 years, and was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, West Bend.

Survivors include two sons, Terry (Lisa) Spykstra of Menomonee Falls and Todd (Jaci) Spykstra of Jackson; a grandson, Austin Spykstra of Jackson; his fiancee, Loris Geschke of Mayville; three sisters, Kathy (Merlin) Kline, Myra Dreavecroft, and Ronda (Dave) Sells, all of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two brothers, Richard (Sharon) Spykstra of Armour, S.D. and Larry Spykstra of White Bear Lake, Minn.; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 29, at 7 p.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ.

Rev. James Eckblad will officiate, and burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the church will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association are appreciated.

The Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home West Bend, is serving the family.

Irene Marth, nee Stieve
Irene Marth, nee Stieve, formerly Irene Baldwin, of West Bend, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2001, at her residence, at the age of 84.

She was born Oct. 11, 1916, in Milwaukee, to the late Herman and Wilma (Nee Ehlers) Stieve, and married Patrick Baldwin on Nov. 20, 1937, in Milwaukee.

He passed away on May 31, 1961.

On June 15, 1968, she married Ernest Marth in Milwaukee. Together they moved to West Bend in 1977.

He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1985.

Irene was a former employee of Columbia Art Works in Milwaukee, retiring in 1984.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend, and also enjoyed playing bingo, cards and an occasional slot machine.

Survivors include four daughters, Patricia (Dr. Dwight) Brown of Oconomowoc and Barbara (Gerald) Kuehl, Paula (Ronald) Gaspardo and Pamela (Roger) Peterson, all of West Bend; a stepdaughter, Ann Marth of Alaska; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth (William) Braidigan of West Bend and Dorothy (Kenneth) Grosse of Daltona, Fla.; a brother, Arthur (Lois) Stieve of Wausau;' other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were two great-grandsons, a stepson, four sisters and two brothers.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 29, at 1 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend.

Rev. David Schoob will officiate.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services.

Fay M. Oresnik
Fay M. Oresnik, nee Fuller, 71, of West Bend, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 12, 1929, in West Bend, to the late Elmer and Irene (nee Steffen) Fuller, and married Ludwig E. Oresnik on April 23, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Bend.

He passed away on May 7, 2000.

Fay worked at Amity Leather for approximately 40 years, and enjoyed any activity that involved spending time with her family.

Survivors include two children, Vickie (Bill) Ludwig of Kewaskum and Wayne (Brenda) of West Bend; a daughter-in-law, Vicky Oresnik of Newburg; nine grandchildren, Shawn Oresnik, Cory (Charles) Metz, Jody Ludwig, Jesse Oresnik, Tracy Ludwig, Denise (Eli Bergseth) Ludwig, Amy Oresnik, Wayne Oresnik and Brittany Simons; eight great-grandchildren, Marty Oresnik, Michael Ludwig, Zachary Shipley, Carolanne Bishop, Lindsey Ludwig, Maggie Metz, Kailey Bishop and Elise Metz; two sisters, Arline Keller of Hartford and Annie Mayer of West Bend; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a daughter, Gail Oresnik; a son, Ludwig; two sisters; and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 29, at 7 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend.

Pastor David Schoob of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate, and inurnment will take place in Washington County Memorial Park.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4 to 6:45 p.m.

Edgar C. Westphal
Edgar C. Westphal, 76, of West Bend, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2001, at his residence.

He was born April 4, 1924, in Iron Ridge, town of Herman, to the late Ervin and Ruth (Zilisch) Westphal.

He farmed the family homestead in the town of Herman and was also on the Iron Ridge Volunteer Fire Department.

After his marriage to Violet B. Borchert on Sept. 16, 1950, at Tollard Church, town of Erin, the couple moved to West Bend in 1958.

He worked for the Gehl Co., Level Valley Dairy, and then for Bend Industries where he was employed for over 25 years, retiring in 1986.

Edgar had a homebased welding repair shop his whole life.

He loved fishing, traveling and hunting, and never missed a year of deer hunting in over 60 years.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, an NRA member and a retired teamster member.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Douglas (Rose Ann) of Boltonville and Michael (Charlene) and Terry (Dawn), both of West Bend; four grandchildren, Eric, Jenny, Cassandra and Travis; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was a sister, Jean.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 29, at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, West Bend.

Rev. Cleone Weigand will officiate, and interment will be in Washington County Memorial Park at 10 a.m. on Friday.

Visitation at the church only will be Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials are appreciated.

A special "thank you" for the care and love given by the hospice personnel and to Pastor Ziesemer and Pastor Weigand.
